Syncing movies problem on ipad 2

Here is the problem I am having. I have multiple movies, some are bought from itunes, some are digital copies also download from itunes, some are files converted to a .m4v and .mp4 formats from other sources. The converted files have custom artwork (i.e. whatever I have arbitrarily decided to put there). When I sync these movies to the ipad 2 the cover artwork is multiplying itself to other movies. (e.g. Movie A will not have it's own cover artwork but a duplicate of another movie.) When I click the movie to watch it brings up the information screen for that movie and the proper artwork recovers itself, but when I put it back to the video home app it reverts back to the infected artwork. So basically it will appear there are duplicate movies even though they are not. So now to the question: What is the fix to this particular problem? I'm using iOS 4.3.3. but I had this problem with iOS 4.3.2 as well.

The problem is not with the conversion of the movie itself. The movie itself after being converted to the proper format works perfectly on the iPad 2. The problem is with the artwork associated with a particular movie. The only thing "custom" that I am referring to is the artwork which can be anything, any picture. When I am on the home screen on iPad I click the Videos app. The picture of all available movies on my iPad come up. Lets say there are 3 movies, all different (e.g. Batman, Ironman, and Superman). The artwork for all three movies will be the same. (i.e. Batman will have Ironman's cover art as will Superman. So it appears as if there are 3 Ironman movies all the same.) However when you click on the movie the artwork reverts back to the proper movie artwork. (i.e. Batman has Ironman artwork until I click on it, if you have used an iPad you know the next screen is an info screen with larger artwork. That artwork in that screen reverts back to the proper artwork for that particular movie. Batman previously showing Ironman artwork now has Batman artwork. If I hit back to go back to the main Videos app screen it reverts again back to the incorrect Ironman artwork for Batman's movie.) This is my problem. I've talked to some others and they have told me they have the same problem with Music artwork. How do I fix this problem? Again conversion is a non-issue, it has nothing to do with my artwork problem.

    Hey there ckhoury13,
It sounds like your video files may be incompatible with iTunes. Here is an article that will help you determine if your video files need to be converted before they can be moved into iTunes:

  • Itunes no longer syncs movies to my ipad

I recently got tired of apps crashing on my ipad so I took it to the store and they wound up giving me a replacement. My music and apps sync to this replacement, no problem; but none of my movies will. These are the same movies that I had on my old ipad with no issues. I’ve tried telling itunes to sync all my movies, and I’ve told it to sync the selected ones and then selected them all, but nothing works.
Any suggestions? I'm using itunes 9.2.1.5. Kindly refrain from suggestion I upgrade to itunes 10; I already tried that route and it stopped syncing podcasts to my ipod, and I’ve no interest in “upgrading” to a new version that doesn’t work as well as the old one...
    Thanks!

Tells me that it's already authorized.
I deauthorized it and authorized it again, just for he heck of it... no effect...
Which menu should I be selecting "Movies" from? The menus I have are FILE, EDIT, VIEW, CONTROLS, STORE, ADVANCED, and HELP... none of them seem to have a MOVIES option...
I can click on the ipad under DEVICES on the left side of the screen, and there's a movies tab there. Like I said in my original post, I've already selected that the movies should be synced, just like on my last ipad. Clicking SYNC on the lower right will make it sync the ipad again, but it still isn't syncing my movies...

  • Movie problem on iPad

I downloaded two rented movies from iTunes to watch on the plane, but as soon as I tried the screen went black, and froze, and from then on I was unable to watch either this movie or any other. I could not resolve the problem until I was able to sync with my laptop two weeks later at home.
What went wrong, and how do I stop this happening again?

It's hard to say what went wrong or why it happened but other users have reported this same behavior with downloaded movies.
I don't know how to prevent it - but the next time it happens - try this. When the screen freezes, quit the app and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Try the videos again. If they will not open - try this. Swipe to right from your home screen to bring up the search feature on the iPad. Type in the name of one of the movies. when it shows up in the search - tap on the movie icon and the movie should start to play. Let it go for a minute or so and then hit the Done button. Go back to the videos app and see if they will play again.
Another thing that seems to unlock the frozen videos app is to download a podcast - a free one of course. Play the podcast for a minute or so - then go back to the video app and try the movie again.

  • HT1386 How do I sync movies onto my iPad?

I own movies on DVD, and would like to watch them on my iPad. Is there a legal way to do this?

Depends on the country. In most developed countries, it's legal. However, this subject is not allowed to be discussed here. Sorry.

  • Cannot sync movies on Ipad

    Folks,
Is anyone having issues syncing movies on the ipad. I have tried all options and my entire movie library refuses to move over to the iPAD. Is this a known bug or something that apple needs to fix. All my movies are syncing with my iphone and Apple TV without any issues.
    Regards

I run into this same problem on occasion. For some reason iTunes thinks a movie isn't compatible with the iPad even though the movie IS compatible. Instead of letting the user override this and allow the movie to sync, Apple in their new "big brother" mode simply won't let you even try to play the file. Grrrrr....
However, if you know the movie format is fine (or just want to try it), you can add the movie to the iPad using Air Sharing HD (their may be other software which performs this same function). You can then play the movie directly in that app. Unfortunately, Air Sharing HD does not remember your location, so if you stop playing in the middle you will have to find your place again manually. This has allowed me to play a number of movies which are properly encoded but which iTunes refuses to sync to my iPad.
    Hope that helps!

  • Can't sync movies to iPad; can't share movies on network

On the iPad (with retina display), when trying to watch movies shared from iTunes, after selecting the shared library, the circle spins for a while until failing with "Unable to turn on Home Sharing".  This started happening a lot recently, but I figured it wasn't that bad....I can just sync a few movies to the iPad, no problem, right? WRONG!!!!  I cannot sync movies to the iPad either.  iTunes just acts like it is doing something, then after a while it just stops acting like it's doing anything.  The movies never sync.  Also, if I deselct movies that are already there, they still do NOT get removed from the iPad.
You might ask how I got the movies there in the first place.  This happened once already and I reset the iPad.  I was able to watch one movie in my shared library before getting the "Unable to turn on Home Sharing", and I was able to sync 4 movies.  That was it though, and all attempts to watch shared movies or to sync movies now fail.  Funny thing is that when I reset the iPad I lost a lot of custom settings.  I only got movies on it for a day biut I've been configuring my erased settings for a week.  I have reset my account info for home sharing in the iPad multiple times.  I have reset the iPad.  As I said, resetting worked for a day or two.
    Any ideas?
    Gary

Bluetooth on the iPad is aimed at devices such as headphones and keyboards - the supported profiles are listed on the this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647
iOS 5 and the iCloud allow more to be done wirelessly

  • Cannot sync movies to ipad

I am unable to sync movies to my iPad running iOS7.  The movies had previously synced with no issues.  I am not sure if this is an issue with iOS7 but did not have this problem with iOS6.  I have tried different ports, updating iTunes & iOS, restoring and cycling power on everything.
The movies can be selected to sync but after sync they show up gray in the list under iTunes list of what is on the iPad.  They also do not show up on the iPad.

I'm certain that the problem is from configuring the sync:

  • Previously synced movies no longer downloadable to iPad

I'm having an issue syncing movies to my iPad using the purchased media option in the iTunes store. Some of my movies don't have the download option and only have a watch option. Some movies that I was able to download previously also now only show the watch option. I have plenty of available room on the tablet. I've also done a soft and hard reset with no change. It almost seems as if iTunes think the move is already on my iPad. After some searching, I've been unable to find a someone else with a similar situation and I could use some assistance. Thanks much for any advice in clearing this up.

    Hello Huntersvt,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with the iTunes Store on your iPad.  For this issue, I recommend signing out and back into the iTunes Store on your iPad:
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
    Tap your Apple ID.
If you see the option to Sign In, you can change your Apple ID now.
    Tap Sign Out.
Enter your Apple ID and Password and tap Sign In.
I recommend signing in with your same Apple ID and trying to download your past purchases again.
You can find the full article here:

  • IPad will not sync movie

I puirchased and downloaded a movie from iTunes and it is my library.  However, when I sync my iPad with my iTunes, this movie remains in my library and does not sync to the iPad.  I have two previously synced movies on my iPad, but the most recent purchase will not sync.  I have the check in "Sync Movies" and "all".  How do I get the most recent movie to the iPad.

Do you have some sort of age restricted content setting preventing the movie from syncing in Settings>General>Restrictions?
Are you using the correct Apple ID on the iPad - the same one that you used to buy the movie?
Do you have enough space left on the iPad to allow the movies to sync? Settings>General>Usage>Storage? See how much space you have left on the iPad.

  • HT2729 From my iTunes how do I download my movies to my iPads 3?

When you sync movies to the iPad - look for them in the videos app.
This is how I sync movies.
Connect the iPad to the computer and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Movies Tab on the right.
Click on the movies that you want to sync.
Click on the Sync Movies Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

  • Problem syncing movies to iPad

For some reason I am unable to sync more than a certain number of movies to my iPad2 64GB  it appears that it for some reason arbitrarily limits me to 12 movies.
Any ideas as to why this would be the case?
But I can purchase movies from the iTunes store and it adds them with no problems, but then after transfering purchases to my mac, it will remove any of the new purchases and bring me back down to 12 movies.

I'm somewhat hesitant to suggest this - but have you tried removing all of the movies from the iPad and then try to sync them all back to the device? Unsync and then sync again?
You are using the same Apple ID on both devices and it is the same ID that all of the movies were purchased with - correct? You are signed into the same account on the iPad and the MBP? The new movies are not being purchased with a different account?
Your iPad isn't age restricted for the content on the movies is it? I don't know if you could even download them in the first place if it was -  but I'm just trying to think of anything that might be causing this to occur.

  • Problems syncing movie to iPad

I purchased and downloaded a movie onto my MacBook Air, now it will not sync and put the movie on my iPad, says this computer is not authorized.  I've tried to restart both devices, same message.  Any advice?

It is the same Air I use for all my purchases, and I sync the iPad to it several times a week.  I've synced a gazillion other items -- songs, videos, movies -- with no problem.  Everything is logged into the same account, and I double-checked the computer to make sure that it was authorized.
