Syncing multiple iPhones to iTunes

My Mac has 2 accounts, one for Parents and the other for Kids. That way, all our photos, music, documents and bookmarks are common and at the same place. I also have a MobileMe account into which I got an alternate email account for my wife, back when that option was still available. Finally, I had an iPhone 3G which I sync'd over the cloud and with iTunes to carry around all that nice stuff and some great apps.
Then I got an iPhone 3GS. And gave the 3G to my wife. See where I'm heading?
Now, I still want to share my iLife with my wife but I also want to sync her iPhone with iTunes. That means that I want her to be able to get all the photos, songs and apps she wants but I don't want to loose data on my iPhone in the process. Is it possible to manage to iPhone using the same Mac OS X and iTunes account? I want to be able to sync our apps together and buy them using my iTunes account but I also want to make sure that syncing our apps in iTunes will not overwrite the data in them for the different phones.
How does that work? Any suggestions? What's the best way to achieve this setup?
Thanks in advance.

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same itunes account, there is no limit. You can chose what itunes content you want on each device. You can have the same content or different content, the chose is yours. Itunes will keep everything straight, by device, upon subsequent syncs.

  • ITunes - syncing multiple iPhones and avoiding apps going on the wrong handsets!

    Hi all,
I work for a small telco and i sync multiple iPhone handsets daily to my iTunes on my work PC, the problem i'm having is when the customer wants there applications transferred to their new handset, I have to sync the applications to my itunes and then put in the customer Apple ID password and transfer the purchases. Then what happens is the customers go to update their applications on there handsets and it comes up with another random apple id to update the app. How can i stop this from happening???
    Please I need your Help!!!

My wife and I share almost everything...so when we purchase apps, we use the same Apple account. We have one account with AT&T with two phones. We also have one account at the apple store and charge everything to a specific credit card that has a very low monthly ceiling. This allows us to download the apps to our iphones from different computers. When I buy an app or download a free one, she logs in with our account and is eligible to download the app too. I think it is OK with Apple but have not read the fine print of the agreement.

  • Can i use multiple computers to sync my Iphone with itunes?

Can I use a different computer to sync my Iphone with itunes since my laptop crashed?

No. TM is machine specific and is not ideal for syncing machines. You need syncing software or MobileMe. MobileMe has a 2 month free trial. Oh, cloning software of specific files may work as well depending on what you are syncing.

How can I have multiple iphones on itunes without them sharing contact info

If contacts on each iPhone are being synced direct with the same supported address book app on the computer via the iTunes sync process, deselect Sync Contacts under the Info tab for the iPhones that you don't want synced with the same address book followed by a sync.
If each iPhone is sharing the same Apple iCloud account with Contacts enabled for over the air syncing, each iPhone needs its own iCloud account.

I have an iMAC G5 PowerPC (not Intel) running10.5.8.  I sync my iphone to iTunes - but just learned I must have Snow Leopard to do so for my new iPhone 5S.     Yet I can't install Snow Leopard as the G5 is not Intel.   What do I do?  How do I move music and pics?  And keep them synced up as I purchase more?

Sorry, but that is correct. You need Snow Leopard to sync your phone and the latest version of iTunes and you old G5 cannot run that.

  • I have the iPhone 4. I recently switched from PC to IMac. I am trying to sync my iPhone, but iTunes will not let me add or remove anything. Do I need to change a setting since I changed computers? Help!

I have the iPhone 4. I recently switched from PC to IMac. I am trying to sync my iPhone, but iTunes will not let me add or remove anything. Do I need to change a setting since I changed computers? I try to add songs from my music into my phone section and it will not go... Plus the playlists on my phone are not updated on my iTunes phone on my computer. Its like it never updated. What am I doing wrong??

Iphone will sync with one computer at a time.
When you sync to another it will delete the current content.
Make sure you have copied everything from your old computer to your new one first.

How do I sync my iphone with itunes without losing everything on my phone?

Normally, you should be able to sync your iPhone with iTunes without losing anything
What can happen is that you might have emptied your iTunes library for any reason such as a system restore
If this is the case, you first need to Import iPhone library to iTunes and then, you'll be able to sync your iPhone with iTunes with no problem

I recently changed my email address and want to change my Apple ID account to match. I have created a new Apple ID to match the new account but now I can't sign into iCloud on our phones or computer with the old Apple ID. I can't make any changes on iCloud on our phones because it directs me to the old account, which I can't sign into. I also can't sign me in on my computer to make any changes. Help!!! Now I have two addresses and can't access the one that directly affects my devices.
