Syncing music

I have 2 CD's by Alan Jackson. Only one shows up under "artists". The other CD is located in "more" and then "albums". How do i make both CD's appear in my "artists" lists?

I find it much easier to 'copy and paste' or 'drag and drop' music to sd card Music folder.

I can no longer sync music, books and ring tones

I recently updated my iTunes, and something has changed. I can sync music and audio books - but it erases my ring tones. I noticed this, and attempted to sync my ring tones -- only to lose all of my music and audio books. I have the "manually manage music and videos" box checked (though the check keeps disappearing). This is so frustrating! Anyone know what's going on?

Can't Sync Music after installing OS4 on brand new ipod

Bought a new 8gb touch today, apps all moved over fine but anytime try to sync music manually or automatically, I get message error occured and Itunes shuts down.
Have reinstalled itunes to no avail and tried using a different cable.
Tried to restore to factory settings but still have OS4.
Only thing I have done today is install the update and after reading all the post's here wish I hadnt.
Any ideas folks, thanks in advance

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

I have a podcast for my running programme on my new shuffle an access it on 'My Computer' but message on device is 'please use itunes to sync music' . In itunes I message 'cannot be synced because all the podcasts for syncing no longer exist'' Help!!

Have new nano shuffle for couch to 5K. Weeks 1 and 2 worked well but week although can be seen downloaded on MY COMPUTER doesn't play and message is 'connect to itunes to sync music' Tried to sync other podcasts but message is cannot be synced because all the pocastsfor syncing no longer exists. My iPod 5 will not sync ANY music. All my music was on prior to syncing. The sync deleted all my music. I can now no longer add any music. I have the "sync music" checked. Restoring factory settings did not work. Any thoughts?

When you synced with iTunes It would have tried to replace the music on the iPhone with what is on the computer. which is what happens when you sync with iTunes.
If the songs are purchased you can re-downloaded them Pretty easily. You mentioned that you still see the songs and that you could not play them. Do they have a Cloud symbol next to them? If so this means that you can download them but that they are not on the device.

I have an Ipod Touch, and i want to sync music from iTunes, but i cant, as my Ipod is showing up as a camera, how do i make change it back to an Ipod, so i can sync music??

I recently started using my Ipod touch again, and i bought music to go on there.
I tired syncing it, but Itunes kept freezinfg because it needed to be updated to 10.6. After i updated it, my Ipod was not showing up. I figured out that it was showing up as a camera on my laptop.
How do i change it back to an Ipod on there so i can sync music?

If you have a 2G iPod those can only go to iOS 4.2.1. A 3G and 4G to the current 5.1.1. A 1G to 3.1.3

Sync Music will not sync voice memos. Why?

When I check "include voice memos" in Sync Music, and sync music, Voice Memos do not move into iTunes.
Memo is 33 minutes but that does not really seem, to me, to be an issue. A search does not find it nor is there a Voice Memo Folder created in iTunes
Ideas? Solutions?

I didn't start this thread, but have the same question. I recently updated my iTunes and tried to sync and backup my iPhone so I can update to iOS7. Only, my music is not syncing from my iPhone to iTunes. Some of this music I have had for a couple of years and no longer have the CD for (I have teenagers...CDs damaged or missing). Out of 104 songs, only 3 are showing up. Any ideas?

IPhone 5s won't sync music from iTunes

I have an iPhone 5s that is less than a year old. For the past month now I have not been able to sync music from my computer onto the phone. I can transfer music and playlists and apps etc from my phone to iTunes on my computer but not vice versa. I have managed to sync the music to my iPad 1st Gen with no issues which is funny considering it's a much older device.
I can still download songs on my phone from the iTunes app perfectly fine it's just getting music from my computer to the iPhone which I'm having trouble with.
I decided to update both my itunes and iphone to the latest versions/iOS but neither has made a difference.

I had to delete all my playlists on the phone. Then I synced it with my iTunes/music and it finally placed my new music back on my phone.

Hi, I am trying to get my voice memos from my iPhone 3GS to my MacBook Pro via iTunes and it is not working. I have ticked sync music in the music tab of the iPhone device and the include voice memos box is also ticked. So, apparently this should work, but there is no sign of the voice memos in iTunes or in the iTunes folder in the finder window. Any ideas much appreciated! :-) Thank you.

I've always had the "Include Voice Memos" option selected. I think that only pertains to syncing voice memos from iTunes to the iPhone after it has been copied to iTunes. It has to be the new OS/iTunes not communicating that new memos have been recorded. For some reason they won't sync when I want them to, and then a few syncs later they magically appear.
By the way, I'm VERY comfortable with the iTunes and iPhone systems. I've been using iTunes for 5 years, and I've been recording class lectures with the iPhone voice memo app (and another app) for a couple years. It's not an error of not seeing that the memos were added; they don't exist in my library or music folders.

IPhone 4 not syncing music through iTunes

I just recently got the iPhone 4S and gave my iPhone 4 to my dad. We downloaded a new version of iTunes on his computer and he has music loaded from CDs that he has. When we tried to add music to the iPhone 4 by syncing it with iTunes the music doesn't load to the phone. When we look back at the playlist that we tried to sync, it has the small error logos next to each song. We tried syncing other playlists and got the same result. We synced apps successfully. What do we need to do to be able to successfully sync music from iTunes to the iPhone 4?

How is your iPod configured to sync music? In other words, what options and configurations do you have enabled from under your iPod's Summary and Music tabs in iTunes?

Syncing Music from Folder to Ipad!

Hey not sure if any had this problem or maybe can help me.
My problem is that im having trouble dragging on song from my music folder on my PC driectly into my music folder in ipad, but i had to go from the Library import music then drag it into my ipad..
Can anyone tell me how to turn or fix it so that i can just drag and drop from my folder to ipad and skip the other step.

You can only sync music (automatically or manually) from within iTunes. You can't skip the import step.

I tried to sync music from iTunes to my iPhone and when I click on "on this phone" the songs are there, but they are greyed out and have a circle in front of them. I can not click on those songs and when I eject the phone they are not on the phone.

I am having the same problem. I have just tried this. Unplug iphone > open itunes > delete all music from itunes library > close itunes > re-open itunes > add music from original folder > plug in iphone > select songs > press sync > unplug iphone using eject button onscreen > checked phone .... still nothing in music folder on phone. This is correct. It will not show in finder. It is not an external storage device.
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases. Open itunes connect ipod, do not sync, click File>Transfer Purchases

Ok, sorry. And yes, I just restored my iPhone as new and tried to put all the songs on there before I even restored with my previous backup, but it still does the same thing... even when I just checked the option to sync only "selected music or videos". How's that possible?
P.S. After I tried syncing with checked songs only, nothing showed up under Music on my phone and this message popped up in iTunes: "The iPhone "..." could not be synced because the sync session failed to finish." If you could, please tell me what that means, thanks.
