Syncing my iPhone 4S without erasing the calendar on my iMac

I want to use my iCal on my iMac (running 10.6.8) as the sole calendar so when I sync to my iPhone 4s I don't duplicate or lose the events on my iMac.  So all events added will be on the iMac and not the iPhone.  When I synched the phone in the past, it erased the iCal events on the computer an only kept the ones from the iPhone.  So in essence I want the iCal on the iPhone just to mirror whats been inputed on the iMac.
Thanks!

The problem is your iTunes library on your MacBook is empty.
And if your iTunes library on your MacBook is empty, how were you able to sync your iPod Touch with your MacBook?
If your MacBook is authorized with the same iTunes account with iTunes that was used to purchase/download all this iTunes store content with your iPhone, with your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
This should copy all iTunes content on your iPhone that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store with your iPhone to your iTunes library on your computer - all music, ringtones, and apps that were purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store.
After confirming all music, ringtones, and apps purchased from the iTunes store with your iPhone are now in your iTunes library on your computer, select Sync Music under the Music tab, select Sync Ringtones under the Ringtones tab, and select Sync Apps under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes making sure all music, ringtones, and apps currently on your iPhone is selected under these tabs for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes before syncing.
