*Syncing New Facebook contacts to be added to phone contacts ?

My facebook contacts are synced with my phonebook. But when I add new friends to my facebook, then are not added to my phone. How do i do this ??? I've been trying for days! On my facebook when i click settings there is no option to sync contacts. Someone please help!!! Thanks

The best way to do this will be to add the Facebook account on to your device. The steps for doing this are listed below:
Menu
Settings
Accounts
Add Account
Choose Facebook
Enter information
Continue
Once you have done this you need to perform a soft reset by removing the battery then re-installing and powering the device on.
After you have done this the contacts should be included on your device's.

Mac OS X Mavericks do not sync all Facebook contacts

I'm using OS X (10.9.1) on a MacBook Air and I have added my Facebook account to the OS settings. The Contacts app did sync with Facebook but it didn't get all my Facebook contacts. Do I need to make any special configuration for that?

I presume you have installed this ?
Whilst these sort of error notifications can marginally slow things, depending on the number of them and the frequency of them it is difficult to say how they might effect another app.
I doubt this one is effecting Messages directly.
It might and I stress might have some involvement with the Contacts App which Messages also looks at for the iMessages account and possibly for "Real Names" in the Buddy list and Messages main window during chats and conversations.
Lets try a different tack.
Navigate to ~/Library/Preferences again as in the earlier reply.
Find com.apple.imagent.plist
Drag this to the Trash.
It will need you to restart this App. However it starts up when the computer does.
This means you can stop it using Activity Monitor (Open the app in Applications/Utilities find the imagent item and use the Quit Button top left then confirm a Force Quit) Or Restart the computer.
This is a support app to Messages and FaceTime.
It holds some of the Account info so that the computer (those apps specifically) can "Listen" for incoming "calls" or Chat invites.
At this point they will start the apps up - without intervention from you - if the apps settings allow it.
FaceTime just has to be set to On but not launched.
Messages has a setting in the General Section of the Preferences about being set to Off Line on Quit.

When i try to sync my facebook contacts to my address book on my Macbook pro, they dont all move across. Any tips would be appreciated. I jhave tried to sync them through the settings.

This might sound weird, but here's an idea which worked for me re music that was newly added to itunes and showed up in my ipod but wouldn't play - I simply played the tracks in itunes first, just a second of time or so will do it, not the whole track, then connect the ipod and sync again and this time they played - hope this helps.

In one of the FB setting is an option (or there is on android) that stops this.
Could be in FB itself of the general setting options for FB.

Help syncing facebook contacts

I recently got a black berry storm 9530 and I'm trying to sync my facebook contacts to my phone and its not working. I went to verizon and they couldn't help me either. When I first set up the phone I set up a work related email (my facebook email is different) then I installed the facebook app and tried to sync my contacts. This failed it said it worked but there was no phone numbers or anything, then I added my facebook email and tried again. this still failed. I'm not sure what to do. the calander and birthday/ notifcations go through but i have no contacts. what should i do?

Facebook will only sync with existing contacts. For example, if you have John Doe in your BlackBerry Address Book and he is also your Facebook friend, Facebook for BlackBerry will link to the contact. Facebook friends that are not in your BlackBerry Address Book will not be synchronized.

Facebook contacts will not sync into passport

I have tried everything I can think of and even though this has never happened on my other blackberries, I cannot get my passport to sync my facebook contacts... help!

I've just come off the phone to Apple Support who seem to be totally unaware of this change. Whilst I understand that this decision was Facebook's it seems rather strange that Apple were not informed, given that it fundamentally alters the ios experience. I think the best way forward with this is to contact Facebook direct. Does anybody know how best to do this?

iOS can sync your Facebook contacts and calendars with your device. This feature is off by default, but you can enable it in Settings > Facebook after adding your account.

My Facebook contacts not showing up in Mac Contacts.app!

After the introduction of syncing your Facebook contacts with iOS, my contacts aren't syncing through iCloud completely.
Contacts that are added through Facebook show up in my iPhone Contacts but are not showing in the Contacts.app on my Mac (Mntn Lion).
When I manually add a field to a Facebook contact on my iPhone it does finally sync to my Mac. But then I would have to find all my missing Facebook contacts so this is not a solution.
The solutions offered on http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3998 have not solved anything.
Anyone else with this issue, solution? Thanks.

That's because they are not on iCloud, they are on Facebook which is a seperate account.
Add the Facebook account to your Mac.

Sync wont update contact pictures on Windows 7 Contacts

I use the application MyPhone to sync new facebook pictures to my iPhone contacts.
I also use iTunes 10.1.0.54 to sync with my iPhone 4 and have it set to sync contacts with 'Windows Contacts'. That ends up coming into the 'Contacts' folder in 'My Documents'.
Although, when I update the pictures with MyPhone and try to sync them back to my Contacts it does not update the Contacts on Windows.
Surely I cant be the only one with this issue. Is there a fix?

When you're syncing your iPhone with iTunes, are the new contact pictures on your iPhone reverting back to match the photos in Windows Contacts?
I'm also a windows 7 user and I sync with windows contacts as well. What I have noticed, although I sync over the air with MobileMe, is that syncing with windows contacts is not too reliable. Eventually changes will show, but it may take a few syncs and photo updates. Maybe try downloading windows live connector and link your windows live ID with your Facebook account. I believe this too will sync contact photos with their Facebook photo.
