Syncing Notes and Bookmarks????

When I click on my Device in iTunes and then on the "info" tab, there is an "Other" section.  How does this work.  I sync wirelessly and backup to iCloud.  I would like to enter notes on my Mac and on my iPhone and keep them both in sync.  How do I set the "Other" settings?  Thanks.

This page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4059 says (I havn't tried it though) :
iBooks will automatically remember where you left off each time you close a book or return to your Home screen. Tap the bookmark icon in the upper-right corner to bookmark a specific page. Wirelessly sync your Bookmarks, Highlights, and Notes with your other devices using your iTunes Store account by tapping Settings > iBooks > Sync Bookmarks > ON.

  • Manually sync Notes and Safari bookmarks via USB cable for iOS device and an iMac with MacOS 10.7 Lion and iTunes 11

"I'm aware that with MacOS 10.8 Mountain Lion there is no support for USB cable sync of iOS devices." Notes and Safari Bookmarks cannot longer be sync via USB cable with iTunes. For owners of iPhone 3G that cannot upgraded the device to a version higher than iOS 4.2, syncing Notes and Safari Bookmarks via usb cable with iTunes is the only option we have. There is no iCloud integration for Notes and Safari Bookmarks under iOS 4.2. I'm not updating to MacOS 10.8, because there is no way to sync Notes and Safari Bookmarks via cable. So I won't be able to sync those anymore unless I upgrade to a newer model of iPhone. I'm not into a new hardware investment, at least not for now. I just want to know if iTunes 11 running in MacOS 10.7 Lion still have the functionality of sync Notes and Safari Bookmarks via USB cable.

Mac OS 10.7.5 and iTunes 11.0.4.

    Yes.
If you are sincing Notes via iCloud, iTunes will tell you so.
If you change the iDevice - Settings> iCloud > Notes - Off, they sync (or not sync) thru iTunes (either wifi or cable).
So my question now would be:
Is "Notes" manual sync checkbox option provided under "Others" in iTunes 11.0.1 with MacOS 10.7 Lion?
If you change the iDevice - Settings> iCloud > Notes - Off, then yes.

  • Does Mountain Lion Server sync Notes and Reminders?

I'm thinking of upgrading a server and wanted to know if Mountain Lion would sync Notes and Reminders like iCloud does in Mountain Lion? I'd like to stay out of the "Cloud" as much as possible... "Cloud" just means "someone else's servers" and since we have our own, why in the world would we use someone else's when we can use our own.... if we can (and then there's the entire issue of privacy, but I digress).
    Thanks,
    -Werner

Open the notes application on your phone.  On the top left of the screen select "Accounts." Your notes have probably been saved to the folder "on my iphone." In order for them to sync with your other devices you need to copy your notes from the folder "on my iphone" to "icloud"
    Hope this helps!

  • Need to sync Notes and Reminders Without iCloud to maintain confidential information

Does anyone have a way to sync Notes & Reminders WITHOUT using iCloud? Directly through USB cable or my home network would be good. Can't Apple understand that users may not want to send confidential information into the Cloud???

With a backup maintained for your iTunes library along with all other important data stored on an external hard drive or some other external media used for backup purposes only, losing all iTunes content on your iPhone with the first sync with iTunes on another computer would be avoided.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod or iPhone but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only including paid and free apps. First you need to authorize the computer with your iTunes account with iTunes. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.

  • HT5557 How not to sync notes and highlights

My wife and I each have an iPhone and iPad we share an iTunes account and have separate iCloud accounts. Currently our notes and highlighting done in iBooks syncs. What is best way to prevent that?

    Hello,
Evernote is integrated into the Remember app. Enter your Evernote credentials into the Settings > Accounts area, and then you will have a folder within Remember for your Evernote items.
For Outlook notes, that's different...and presently not available via any means whatsoever. There is talk about returning full USB sync, but that's not yet available (and I'm honestly not certain if it'll return for MAC at all).
Contacts and Calendar can be done OTA via Outlook.com (though I've no idea how to integrate that into Outlook for MAC), as well as USB 1-way via the latest LINK software (again, not sure about MAC).
    Good luck!

  • Syncing Notes and Tasks New Iphone operating system

Will the new operating system for the iphone allow syncing of notes and tasks from entourage

Apple stated that syncing of Notes will be supported; nothing was said about To-Do's, and they did not specifically address whether Entourage Notes/Tasks will be supported, so you'll most likely need to wait until 3.0 is released for a definitive answer.

You have to use iCloud for the Notes. Books can be synced via iTunes.

  • ITunes Still Not Syncing Notes and iCloud Confidence

Well it seems that the loss of USB Notes synchronisation functionality in iTunes at 10.8.1 was deliberate.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4191?viewlocale=en_US
Contacts are now synchronising via iTunes again as of 10.8.2 and iOS 6 formal release but not Notes.
You must now use either iCloud or an IMAP email account that Telstra (biggest Australian telco) does not offer.
Apple will get dissaffected customers if they start to withdraw functionality that was working on your model of iDevice.
They also need to develop better sensitivity to their travelling customers being stung via data usage.
Give users adequate control & iDevice cache data if possible - think Facetime optimisation, Maps update, iCloud Sync etc.
I am reluctant to embrace iCloud as I periodically travel overseas and Global Roaming can send you broke as matters stand.
I can not just turn off roaming or cellular data as I need to get SMS and updates to passbook for boarding passes & tickets.
Also Notes on an iDevice may have confidentiality or intellectual property sensitivity; do you want them on a public server?
I notice too that Photo Stream is getting advertising - again increasing data usage - so what comes next with iCloud cost-wise?
We need an international treaty so that global roaming can no more than double your bill per service - split 50-50 home-away.
Perhaps Apple could facilitate some such arrangement before the masses of new users loose confidence in smart devices?

Sorry about that. Well, I've tried deleting the AlbumData.xml file as suggested also, but iPhoto itself generates a new file every time it's opened, so that's really a dead end. Rebuilding the library and through iPhoto Library Manager are the steps that required most work, and both did not work either, unfortunately.
I do believe that I'm not the only experiencing iTunes syncing problem, as there have been many posts here before when 9.4 came out. Like I wrote, it has been better with each upgrade, so there's definitely something in the coding with 9.4.x that messes things up. I had no trouble whatsoever with version 9.3.2 and prior to that.

Please share a comprehensive list of things you've already tried so we won't your time - and ours - making suggestions you already know won't work.
Library size is not part of this issue. 12k photos is not a large library these days, I have one four times that size with no syncing issues.

  • ITunes no longer syncs "Notes" and "Reminders" to the iPod.

I bought a new MacBook Pro and I find iTunes no longer has that option.  Is that correct?

Just today I noticed the same thing (song not advancing on completion of prior song) in both playlists and the main library.
I also apparently have no genius results for any song in my library now and iTunes DJ is only showing two albums, no matter how many times I refresh it.
It has to be something basic that I'm overlooking, I hope.

  • Syncing notes and phone memory contents

    Hi,
I have a Nokia X3.  A few questions regarding synchronization:
    1. When connecting it in either "PC suite" or "Data Transfer" mode, only the memory card contents are visible.  Can I access the phone memory contents from the PC?
    2. Can I access the notes on the phone without having (the non-free) Microsoft Outlook installed?  I just need access to the text of the notes, as I tend to take notes while listening to my language lessons using the phone's mp3 player.
    3. How can I transfer recorded audio clips (voice recorder) to the computer?  (I assume these are in the phone memory which doesn't seem to be accessible)

Hi.....I was surprised to find my new X3-02 phone was telling me to delete items after only a week of very light use ( 4 apps and about thirty photos ).  I have now added a memory card only to find that there seems to be no obvious method to direct my content to the card.  I  would appreciate any assistance as this problem has completely diffused any delight over the new touch and type format.
    Thanks.....Feefifofum

  • Must I create @me account to sync Notes?

I had not tried to do this before upgrading to Mountain Lion, but I have been unable to sync Notes (and Messages) between my iOS devices and my Macs since upgrading. Every time I go to enable Notes and Messages synching through iCloud on any of my devices, I am confronted with a window that asks me to create a @me email address in order to enable synching. Is this a requirement? Is there some other way to enable synching of Notes and Messages without having to create a new email address that I'll most likely never use? Am I missing something obvious here? I'm a Mac user since 1984 and an iPhone user since the very first iPhone 5 years ago. But this has me completely baffled.

Thanks, my main email address is an IMAP account. But whether it's on my Mac or my iPhone or iPad, when I go to settings and try to enable Notes or Messages synching, I get that pop-up window asking me to set up a @me account. Can you tell me how I can bypass that? I have been synching Calendars, Contacts, Reminders, and Bookmarks through iCloud, but Notes and Messages seem to involve another layer of complexity I just can't seem to get past.
    Thanks for your help.

  • IBooks upgrade erased notes and highlights

I upgraded the iBooks app on my 3rd gen iPad today. Now iBooks no longer remembers where I left off reading any of my books, plus it has lost all my highlights, notes and bookmarks. How can I get those back?

Ah, fixed it finally -- iBooks just got confused. I have been backing up and syncing things with iCloud so when I deleted the book from my iPad and then downloaded it again -- all the bookmarks and highlights were back!

  • Iphone & laptop sync issues with bookmarks

    hello
one day when fiddling with iphone i deleted some of the bookmarks from iphone safari. they were the same bookmarks that are on the laptop that i sync with the iphone. now, whenever i do a sync i get an alert that states " syncing with 'iphone' will change more than 5% of your bookmarks on this computer". and thus i have to hit "cancel" each time to prevent that from happening.
the reason i did this is because i DO want all of the bookmarks on my laptop but do NOT need them all on my iphone. maybe that is not possible.
this is an annoyance, how can i make it go away / get things back right?
    thanks,
    wayne

The sync process for contact info, calendar events, and bookmarks is a bidirectional or true sync process. Syncing means syncing in regards to bookmarks so if you want to sync bookmarks, bookmarks will be the same on your computer and on your iPhone.
You can deselect bookmarks under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences and bookmarks will no longer be synced. This will not remove the existing bookmarks from your iPhone and will remove the warning message.
Or under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences below the Advanced section, select Bookmarks for replace info on this iPhone. Select Apply followed by a sync. This will restore the bookmarks that you deleted from your iPhone replacing the bookmarks on your iPhone with the bookmarks on your computer and remove the warning message.

  • I installed Mountain Lion so that I could sync my notes with my iPhone that already syncs notes with a specific email address I use for school, but during the install it automatically set up Notes to sync w the wrong email addy. How can I fix it?

I installed Mountain Lion so that I could sync my notes with my iPhone that already syncs notes with a specific email address I use for school, but during the install it automatically set up Notes to sync w the wrong email addy. It looked in Mail, which had 5 email accounts set up in it, and for some reason picked the only one that I no longer use because it is for a school that I no longer attend. How can I fix it so that it syncs with the correct email account for notes and calendar? There don't seem to be any settings available other than to check if you want to use the basic features. It also said during the set up that it was setting up 'find my mac' but if I look on the iCloud website there is nothing showing there for finding my mac.
At this point I feel like I wasted my money paying for this supposed upgrade. I got nothing for it but frustration. It even automatically set my security settings to allow only downloads from the Mac store so the first time I went to download something I had to stop what I was doing and go correct settings first. I feel like there should be a security setting to block downloads from the Mac store so I don't accidentally end up clicking the wrong thing and being charged.

iCloud isn't syncing them on your phone.  You simply added the email account to your phone and enabled calendar and notes syncing with the email provider, and the calendar and notes appear in the calendar and notes apps on your phone.  You can do this with Gmail, Yahoo and other IMAP account.  iCloud email is just another IMAP account, but syncs notes with Apple's iCloud server just as Gmail syncs notes and calendars with Google's server.
iCloud didnt' set up a non-iCloud account on your Mac.  When you check Mail in System Preferences>iCloud, it only creates an iCloud email account.  You can also add other email accounts to your Mac by going to System Preferences>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and clicking on the "+" sign on the bottom of the left sidebar.  If you added these other email accounts to your Mac before you upgraded to Mountain Lion, these were simply maintained on your Mac after you upgraded.
