Syncing on 2 PCs

Hi, as a surprise I bought a 6th gen nano for my girlfriend, filled it up with some songs from my iTunes library, put it back into the box and gave it to her. If she now links it to her USB-port, her iTunes on her PC does not recognize it. She has version 10 installed as do I. Is this due to the fact that I first plugged it into my pc and put some of my music on it? Or is there another problem here?

There is an App called Weathertrack, which pulls from the web GRIB files (weather information), that I would like to download onto the laptop we have on the boat, that runs some routing software (SeaTrack), that in turn integrates weather, tide, GPS etc to help with vessel navigation.
I can obviously do this from my home computer (this is the one that has the 1-1 sync relationship), but I don't want to empty the IPhone content whilst on the boat ...
If you can think of a way of making this happen, I would be very appreciative. Both PCs are windows based, home is Vista, boat is XP.

Bookmarks not syncing between 2 PCs

I just installed Firefox on a new PC and wish to use it to keep my 2 PCs synchronized.
Both PCs use the new version of Sync and latest version of Firefox.
However bookmarks don't sync.
I had XMarks and desactivated it but it still does not work.

Yes it is checked on both devices and my mini Mac. I have also tried unchecking then rechecking and rebooting etc but still no joy.

Keeping iTunes synced to multiple PCs

I have a have a Windows laptop and iPhone and purchase content from iTunes on both. Syncing with the two devices is straighforward. I've just added a desktop component, as well as and AppleTV to my network.
Any suggestions on how I can keep iTunes on both PCs synced so regardless of whether i buy content on iPhone, AppleTV, laptop or desktop its all the same?

ICloud not syncing phone and PCs

I "upgraded" my iPhone 5 the other day to iOS8. I also upgraded all of my PCs to iCloud 4.0.2 after I upgraded the phone because syncing issues came up and iCloud upgrading was necessary. Nothing is syncing at all yet. Before I upgraded, all of my devices played nicely together. Now, nothing works. My photostream is not updating on any of my PCs, my favorites are not syncing to IE across the board. I'm am so ****** that I upgraded at all, everything was so happy before, the world was a good place. Now its not. I consider myself to be fairly computer savvy, but this has me frustrated and a little angry, actually, a LOT angry.
Here are the devices:
Device 1: iPhone 5, iOS8 installed
Device 2: HP Pavillion, Windows 7, iCloud 4.0.2
Device 3: HP laptop, Windows 8.1, iCloud 4.0.2
Device 3: HP desktop computer, Windows 7, iCloud 4.0.2
Any help would be appreciated.

Kolyasik, are those questions? If they are, the answer is yes and no. Everything worked BEFORE I updated my phone to iOS8. That's when everything went horse ****. After the update, nothing syncs anymore. Understand?

Ipod sync to 2 PCs

with 2 active Windows PCs (One is XP Pro and one is Vista), how can i sync my ipod to both without losing any music from seither PC or from iPod?

IPad and IPhone synced to different PCs how do I get the same music on both devices? I used one PC to put CDs on ITunes but these don't appear on the phone which syncs to the Mac.

I have 1 ITunes account but my IPad is synced to a Windows PC to download CDs onto my IPad and the Iphone is synced to the Mac. I was hoping that the CDs I'd put on the IPad from the Windows PC would automatically appear on my IPhone when both these devices were sharing the same Wi-Fi at home. This didn't really work very well and I've been left with the CDs showing on the list on my phone but when I try to play them, the different tracks keep scrolling fast and not playing. I've tried deleting them from the IPhone, but they just seem to retreat to ICloud.
I've tried syncing the phone to the windows PC but this has just resulted in an error and I think this may be what has screwed the music up on my phone. I would just like to be able to listen to my CDs on my phone.
Has anyone come across this before and resolved it?

Terminology check here. Do you really mean a "CD"? There's a difference in Cloud behavior between content from a physical CD you ripped (which only has Cloud content if you have iTunes Match) and an "album" you bought from the iTunes Store.

The above can get pretty complicated. You are probably best off by syncing both devices to a single library and/or updating the libraries on both computers to have the same content.

How to sync to 2 pcs ?

I use my desktop pc at home and laptop when travelling.
I want to be able to download videos/ files from my desktop at home and then, when im on the road,
I want to add more videos from my laptop to my ipad.
When i connect my ipad to laptop...it says erase n sync to new pc ? I do not want to erase anything, just add files.

No not really possible without a lot of work and to do what you want it to do is a lot of work. You would need to keep both of your iTunes installs perfectly in sync before you synced your iPad. And it would erase it everytime you syned it to the other machine before reinstalling everything.
I gave up on this and just used my Laptop as my iTunes install and moved everything to it. That way when I was on the road I could download apps, movies music, whatever to my iTunes account using the hotel WiFi and then sync it to my iPhone/iPad. It was just easier.
Apple really doesn't want us to be able to sync our iDevices to more than one iTunes account. If you could it would make it way too easy for people to share their songs, videos, apps, etc. And they would jeapordize their very lucrative contracts with the music, movie, TV studios.

Best Way To Sync E-mail On Pcs and IPhone?

I have a vista pc, a XP pc and an iphone. I would like e-mail synced on the pcs and accessible by the iphone. If I use my iphone to reply to e-mail or to write new e-mail then I would like that reflected on my pcs.
I don't want all of my e-mail held on my iphone due to concerns over identify theft if the phone is stolen or lost. Therefore, having it fully synched with the pcs doesn't appeal.
I'm seriously thinking about mobileme, more for the photo and document storage together with calendar synching.
I have a pop account, but would consider another account such as gmail or mobileme account. The latter possibly not ideal due to being tied in to Apple and their charges.
I'd be grateful for advice on the best way forward.

This is not possible. The iPhone's mail client is no different from an email client used on a computer for accessing an IMAP account in this regard.
And you won't have thousands of emails on your iPhone. The iPhone's mail client includes a setting to show XX most recent messages for each mailbox with 200 being the max. If a mailbox has more than 200 messages available, there is a Load More Messages selection at the bottom of the mailbox. And storage used is minimal with an email account unless you open and view each message in a mailbox. When a new message is received with the iPhone's mail client, the message header and the number of message preview lines you have selected are downloaded only. The entire message body is not downloaded until the message is selected to be opened. And if you are connected to the cellular network for internet access, attachments are not downloaded until the attachment is selected in the message body - unless an attachment is under a smaller designated size.
And with an IMAP account that is also accessed with an email client on your computer, you can transfer server stored messages to a mailbox stored locally on your computer's hard drive which removes the messages from the server - especially for older messages received that have not be transferred to additional server stored mailboxes by category, etc.
The iPhone's mail client is really designed to be an extension of the email client used on your computer for accessing an account and IMO, an IMAP account is best for this purpose which is designed to be accessed with multiple email clients. You can create additional server stored mailboxes to sort received and sent messages by category, and you have control over the number of messages available in each server stored mailbox with the email client used on your computer for accessing the account.

Contacts and music on different PCs, how do I sync?

I am getting an iPhone, but I will need to sync with 2 different PC's. My contacts and calendar are on my office PC, but my music is on my home PC. Can I just install iTunes on both and sync to both? How is the best way to make this work? Thanks.

Contacts and calendars will sync with multiple PCs - music, videos and ringtones will only sync with one.
To sync the contacts and calendars, just sync with one machine, take it to the other, make sure the new PC has at least one unique entry and select "MERGE" when prompted.

One iPod, two PCs. iPod no longer recognized on on PC after latest updater

I have a 4G 20GB with color display that I sync to 2 PCs; my DT at home where my music library is, and my office laptop where I manage Podcasts.
About 2 weeks ago, after updating to iT6 (6.0.3) and the 1-10 updater, my laptop stopped recognizing my iPod - I get the message "USB Device not recognized". My DT sees the iPod fine.
I have tried all the R's twice, no help. Restoring and re-loading the library allowed it to sync 2-3 times, but now I am back where I started. I cannot afford the time to re-load 18GB every time I want updated podcasts on my iPod, and do not want to use my dt (actually my kid's PC) every time I want to get new podcasts.
Any suggestions? TIA

Thanks for the response- sounds like I either have to settle for keeping the iPod i've got and never putting new music onto it...or break down and spend the money on a new one. This one is barely past its warranty, tho, so it's tough to spend that kind of $ yet again for another iPod that won't last very long.

Is it possible to sync your iphone to 2 pc's (work/home)and keep outlook calendar?

I had a iphone but returned it, but now I need confirmation that it is possible to have an iphone sync between to PCs (work / home). I want to know if its possible to have it sync the phone with two computers. Home has itunes for music and such, work doesn't have itunes on it - but I need to make sure that my calendar syncs between the two computers.
I am concerned that if I sync at home it will upload fine but then if I try to sync at work it will want to delete all my contact on my computer and replace with what's on the iphone?

You didn't say what contacts application you are syncing your iPhone with, but almost all give you a choice to list contacts by name or by business. That setting on the computer should transfer to the synced iPhone. Works with my Mac.

ITunes sync with multiple computers

Help for a newbie please!
I have a Windows 7 laptop running iTunes and syncing up with my iPhone beautifully. My goal is to sync that library with another computer (Windows XP desktop) so that they're independent of one another. However, I do need it ot keep track of play count, ratings, and playlists for my iPhone. The other issue that complicates the matter is that my laptop has all my music local on C:\Users\%username%\Music (which I keep organized), but I want the library on the XP machine to be on a USB portable hard drive (so E:\%username%\Music)
So here's my summary:
keep music library synced between 2 PCs (in my own folder structure)
allow my iPhone to sync up with them
preserve play count, ratings, and playlists
Any ideas? Thank you all in advance!

Windows 7 Sync - Slow

Good Morning,
We have Windows Sync setup on some staff laptops, but when the laptop is syncing it makes it so slow - virtually unusable.
If we turn sync off it is fine.
I am thinking about just installing Direct Access, but this obviously only any good if the user has an internet connection.
Any thoughts how we can stop Windows 7 sync center slowing pcs right down.
It used to be fine in XP when it just done a sync at log off!!!!!

How much data did you transfer? What is the result if we disable synchronization on some files, and only sync some small files?
make sure the network speed is fine and update the driver for the network adapter.

Unable to sync apps from old iPad2 to new iPad3

I have a new iPad3, upgrade from iPad2.
Both the old and new iPads were issued by my company.
I have TWO PCs and TWO appleIDs:
1. The first PC is my work computer (Win7, iTunes 10), where I use my work-issued AppleID to sync with the company-issued MobileIron configured profile. This worked fine, all is good. Works great, no problems.
2. The second PC is my personal computer (Win7, iTunes 10), where I use my personal AppleID to sync with my personal AppleID to pick up my music, apps, etc.
On my personal PC, I keep getting the dreaded "We could not complete your iTunes request. The network connection was reset." I know this must be common because I find many posts about it, but most are several years old. I've tried several suggestion not on apple.com and none work. Network connections are fine, as you can see because I am posting here from my personal PC.
I was able to sync music and all loaded great onto the new iPad3. When I try to sync apps, it tells me the computer is not authorized. When I try to authorize again, it gives me the same error.
My frustration is this worked GREAT on my prior iPad2. I was able to sync with both PCs and both the work and personal AppleIDs and bounce back and forth between the two any time I needed to do so.
My company IT department says they have not changed anything in the MobleIron config that should prevent this from happening, and other employees do it with no problem.
