Syncing Outlook to Iphone

I have read a number of threads related to this issue but never quite this one.
My system is a Macbook Air (10.8.3) running Outlook 2011.  I understand that syncing my calendar on iphone to Outlook (and vice versa) is an issue and for months it involved going through Calendar (with the usual multiple entries).  At the same time, SyncServiceAgent and Mingler would hog my CPU for hours on end.
A few months ago, everything changed and my iphone and Outlook calendars synced perfectly but seemingly without going through Calendar (or at least no evidence of any entries).  No issues with SyncServicesAgent etc.  I think it was related to an upgrade but can't be sure.   I was euphoric and took back all the bad things I had said about Jobs and Gates.
This week, for some reason, I am back to square one.  Eternal CPU hogging and multiple entries. I seem to recall a system upgrade for both iphone and Mac but there are so many, who remembers them all!
My questions:
     1.  What gives?  Am I alone in this?
     2.  Any ideas on what I can do here?  I am back to swearing at J&G.

  • Sync Salesforce to Outlook, Sync Outlook to iPhone 5 Contacts

I am trying to sync the contacts in Salesforce with my iphone 5 contacts, so that when I’m on my iphone 5, I can see all updated contact information on the iphone. This boils down to two major steps: 1. Sync Salesforce with Outlook and 2. Sync Outlook with my iphone 5 contacts. I have already completed step 1. Now I need to sync Outlook with my iphone. I plan to do this via iCloud and wanted to see if this has worked well for people?
Also, when I do this – is this going to be a two-way sync (Outlook to iphone AND iphone to Outlook) OR can I configure it to be one way (Outlook to iphone only)? I only want a one-way sync (Outlook to iphone NOT iphone to Outlook).
Also, when I do this – will I have duplicate listings of people already in my iphone or will it recognize individuals with the same name and replace their information? One of my concerns, is that I already have many of the people stored in my iphone that are also stored in Outlook and do not want multiple listings in my iphone after I complete the sync. Is there a way to avoid this?
The point of all the syncing is to be continuous, so I'm not trying to do one download of contacts but rather set up a configuration that will be an ongoing, one-way, chain reaction (Salesforce update -> Outlook update -> iPhone contact update).
Thank you for any input on the subject!

It's probably because your contacts do not belong to the iCloud account.
Open the contacts app on your phone and tap Groups.  Do you have any non-iCloud accounts listed, such as On My iPhone, Gmail, Yahoo or an exchange account?
Also go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section).  Do you have the Default Account setting there, and if so, what is selected as your default account?

  • I was going to purchase Office for Mac 2011, including Outlook.  However, I am hearing many problems with this software including the inability to sync Outlook with iPhone and iPad

I currently sync my iPhone and iPad with Outlook on my Windows Desktop, but want to switch and still do this on my new Mac running Lion.  However what I am reading about the nightmares of syncing with Outlook in Office for Mac 2011 is making me think twice about going down this road.  What an awful situation of purchasing a Mac and being potentially stumped by 'Office for Mac 2011'.
I want to continue using Microsoft Office including Outlook for my business applications - but on the Mac.  I like Keynote for presentations, however I also have to create presentations in PowerPoint for some business situations.  So, although I don't ideally want to put Windows onto my Mac, would it be more efficient and less hassle to use Parallels 7, Windows 7 and Office 2010, rather than endure the issues associated with OFM 2011?
If I decide to use Parallels 7 and Windows 7 am I then into using software to protect against virus' and malware?
I wouldn't be asking this question if Office for Mac 2011 (including Outlook) wasn't a problem - sadly from what I'm reading, it is.
    Thank you in anticipation.

I just resolved my Outlook 2010 + iPhone Calendar sync issue today :  if you have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook (like I do), then you'll find that each account has it's own Calendar (a rather pointless feature IMO).  However you probably only use one Calendar like most people, and what has happened is that the mail account which is set as default for Data Files is not the one you are using.  Try this:
Outlook 2010 -->  Account Settings -->  click "Data Files" tab -->  select as default whichever acct. is associted with the Calendar you use.

  • Sync outlook with Iphone and windows 7 64 bits

    Hello,
    I have a new computer (HP DV7 3080ef) with windows 7 64 bits, itunes 9.0.2.25 and one iphone 3Gs 3.1.2.
I succeed to import from XP 32 bits my library on my new pc, including my outlook (2007) file.
I can synchronize my computer with iphone, thanks to this forum for the help, but only my outlook data are not transferred from pc to iphone and iphone to pc...without any error message and during the sync process, on the header of itunes we can see the sync for calendar, contacts and notes...Other topics are syncronized without prob.
I am totally lost and would like to continue to use my iphone as I did with my old XP computer.
    thanks for your help
    Herve

ok I succeed. Maybe it can help somebody. solution is to recreate a new PST file, copy and paste all folders form old to new one (contacts, calendars, notes etc...). Then in outlook open Tools/options/data file, and select the new one as default file.
sync now works, I can use my precious with my laptop.
    Hope this topic will help.
    Greetings seasons to all.

  • ITunes 11.1.3.8 Sync outlook with iPhone IOS7

    Today I downloaded iTunes 11.1.3.8.
The sync option of Outlook data (Windows 7) using this version of iTunes with my iPhone 4 on IOS6 works perfect.
Question: Will this still work if I upgrade the iPhone software to IOS7 ?
    Thanks

Thanks, I read the info, but it does not mention the IOS version.
Are you using yourself this combo of software?
Background: In The Netherlands I am getting the info on an Apple User group that there would be no iTunes Sync possiblity anymore with the intro of IOS7, which I cannot imagine, or at least don't hope so. They say that IOS7 does not have those sync possibilities anymore, so I would be forced to use iCloud.

  • What will work best to Sync Outlook to iPhone 5s on an 64 bit Windows 8.1 PC

I just bought a new laptop it has the 64-bit version of Windows 8.1 installed.
My old PC I uses Outlook 2007 on Vista 32-bit and syncs fine.
I want my new PC to sync "fine" to my iPhone ... so I'm willing to do whatever it takes.
I've read that 64-bit itunes is flaky
I've read that Outlook 2013 is flaky
since Outlook 2007 will go out of support sometime soon(er) than Outlook 2010 I'd like to upgrade to either Outlook 2010 or 2013 but I don't care which ...
When I go to the itunes download page it detects my 64-bit system and wants to download 64-bit itunes, but I could sidestep this (perhaps)
but downloading the 32-bit version on some other machine....
then try to install it on my new 64-bit PC, but  I'm not sure that the installer would actually "let" it install it..............
Can anybody give me some kind of direction to go in here?
    thanks!

  • Trouble syncing outlook to iphone 5

I continue getting a "unable to verify account information" pop-up when trying to sync my work email to my new iphone 5. I have tried changing my work password once, trying different servers, etc. Anyone else having trouble with this? I have no idea how to resolve it.

  • Is there any way to sync Outlook for Mac with iPhone? I have tried everything but not successful. Apple says it is not possible to sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5. Any help will be much appreciated.

Is there any way to Sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5? Apple support says that only iTune can only sync contacts from "Contact" which is the default contact of Mac. If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. If someone has found a way to sync contacts from Outlook to iPhone 5 please help as it is very frustrating to not be able to sync the contacts. Thanks, Amit.

  • How can I sync Outlook Calendars on 2 PCs with my iPhone?

I have a PC at work and a PC at home ... both have MS Outlook 2007 running on them; I have an iPhone 3GS
I want to be able to sync the calendar from BOTH my PCs on to the iPhone and (therefore) with each other. However, I get a message on the second PC that I can't do this as it is only possible to sync calendars (and contacts by the way) with one PC. Is there any solution to this?
My music is happily synced only with my home PC - fully understand the issues that mean you can only sync those libraries with one PC.

    Hi,
you don't need MobileMe or anything fancy. I personally sync my Outlook calendar and my Outlook address book with three computers (two at the office and one at home)and besides I run Office 2003 on one, Office 2007 on the other and Office 2010 on the third, so it can't get more complicated than that, but it works 100%.
First sync Outlook with iTunes on one computer, having done that when you try to sync it to another machine, iTunes will recognize that it is synced with another computer and ask you if you want to merge the data, say yes, That's all there is to it.
It does not work for music as you rightly say but as far as Calendars and Contacts are concerned it's flawless and transparent.
If you hit a snag talk back to me.
    Cheers.
