Syncing Outlook to Touch Calendar

Hi! I have figured out how to copy my Outlook calendar events into my iPod touch (by choosing sync calendars in my iPod touch options). However, for some reason, the reverse does not work, i.e. it does NOT copy my iPod calendar events into my Outlook calendar.
Can someone please tell me how to fix this so that it syncs 2-ways?
Thank you!
P.S. I am using a PC, not a Mac.

I have managed to sync from PC to my ipod touch but agree that the other way round does not seem to work although I have chosen the option that says anything I add on the ipod should copy back to PC.
In addition I have started losing historic calendar entries from Outlook on the PC (as I have selected not to update the ipod with historic data this still has the entries) - this is causing me problems as I need to keep the historc info

  • Help! Can't sync Outlook 2007 contacts & calendar with iPhone 5 or iPad Air

After upgrading software on iPhone 5 & iTunes, I can no longer sync any contacts or calendar from Outlook 2007.
I have been syncing happily for years, but just this week after downloading software updates for iPhone 5 and iTunes, I can no longer sync.
Music and Podcasts and even notes appear ok, but no contacts or calendar.
At one point, I managed to get the calendar to appear but no contacts; then on a later attempt, the calendar completely disappeared from my iPhone and Outlook - with no USB connection at the time. I had a backup, but strange!
I have tried the following with no success (most tips picked up from this forum):
    Reset sync and tried again
    Reset my phone to be a new phone; deleted everything - no success;
Ensured my default account on outlook was the same standard account as before
Deleted all the addons in Outlook except for iTunes (though iCloud keeps coming back!)
I have run malware software and found nothing
I have shut down and restarted many many times!
    I am syncing via USB.
Please help!! I have spent hours trying to get this to work.
    Thank you!

By any chance are you running any Eset security software products (like Nod32) on that PC?
If so, there's a couple of alternatives.
Either try the procedure in Samoreen's post:
Re: iTunes 11.1.4.62 freezes while syncing with Outlook
Or, see if you can get hold of the Eset beta addressing the problem. As Samoreen notes in another post:
ESET have a workaround for this issue. They gave me access to a test version of the HIPS module and this fixed the problem. So I could re-enable the ESET_OPTIONS environment variable (although I still consider that it's a questionable idea). I upgraded to iTunes 11.1.5.5 and there was no problem.
So maybe you should get in touch with ESET support and request the new module ? Just send a message to Marcos in the ESET forum.

  • ITunes 6.0.1.3 not syncing Outlook Contacts or Calendar with ipod Nano 4GB

I have Outlook 2003 installed and setup with a Microsoft Exchange Server. I have about 200 contacts currently stored in it.
I recently purchased a ipod nano 4gb with hopes of syncing my contacts and calendar with that and being able to throw away my old Palm. The ipod nano works great for syncing music but I can't get it to sync either the calendar or contacts from outlook.
I check the box for syncing contacts and choose Microsoft Outlook from the drop down. Then iTunes only gives me the option of syncing all contacts (which is fine with me) and I click Okay. Then I choose update from the ipod nano right click menu. The status bar says updating contacts but does not import any of my contact to my ipod. Also, except for the 1st time, the Permission Window asking for access to Outlook has not popped up again. When it did that first time, I was told that there was an error and itunes could not copy contacts over. Since then there have been no errors from iTunes.
I have tried all the steps in the apple online help docs (unchecking boxes, restarting, re-checking, etc..) but can't find a solution. I don't want to have to manually Save As each calendar item and contact. Frankly, I'd rather just return the device.
    Can anyone help me?
    thanks in advance.

Possible. It is just odd that the day before the update to 9.x.x (I forgot the release), it worked great. Following that upgrade, the sync died. I could reinstall the old release (per instructions from Apple Tech Support) and it would sync. However, not upgrading your iTunes means not upgrading your OS...and that is not an option. However, I think I will have XP reistalled on my machine...and then put a fresh install on iTunes...and see what happens.

  • How do I sync outlook contacts and calendar without deleting apps?

I have a second iPad.  I wish to sync my Outlook contacts and calendar with my second iPad, however, upon doing so, I am prompted that I will be deleting the apps on the second iPad, which I suffered through yesterday (twice).  Ideas on how to get around this?  I am wondering how iTunes is not differentiating between the two iPads.
Any assistance is welcomed.  Thank you.

  • How to use iPhone to sync Outlook with Google calendar?

This is a bit of a convoluted question, but I think there may be an answer using the iPhone as a go between. Here is the issue, I cannot get my google calendar and my Outlook calendar to sync with each other.  I'm using Outlook 2011 on a macbook pro which is using 10.6.8.  The macbook does not have iCloud services on it.  I am also using an iPhone 5 which of course does have iCloud.
Before recently switching to an iPhone, I always used a Blackberry.  I was able to get my google calendar events to appear in my Outlook calendar when I connected the Blackberry to my mac with a cord and selected "sync" in the Blackberry desktop manager.  There were some issues with duplicate events on my BB calendar, but I could deal with that.  For that set up, I had turned everything on to sync with as much as possible, including iCal.
Here is my current question.  Now that I am using the iPhone, is there a way to make google calendar and Outlook calendar sync with each other?  I would think this is possible, because my iPhone and my iCal have all the events from both calendars.  Google is syncing with my iCal, and Outlook is syncing with my iCal.  So, shouldn't the sync work in reverse as well?  Does the iCal only receive events from these two sources but not also "export" events to these calendars as well?
And, is there a fix using either the iPhone or iCal to make both calendars appear in both places, as they do in my iCal and my iPhone?
    Thank you!

In order to be able to order from the U.S. Online Store you need to have a U.S. credit card and the device has to be shipped to a U.S. address.

  • ITunes needs to close - Sync Outlook contacts or calendar

I installed iTunes 7 after purchasing iPod. Everything works ok but if I select to sync contacts or calendar using Outlook (Outlook2003SP2) a error message appears: "itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close" - Error signature:
AppName: itunes.exe AppVer: 7.0.0.70 ModName: unknown
    ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 35f7ddc9
After closing iTunes I restart it again and some seconds later the same error message appears. I have to deselect the "sync" option and everything returns ok but I could not have my contacts or calendar on iPod.
I saw a FAQ page explaining how can I export the contacts or appointments (as files) but I would like to know why this "sync" option doesn't work before do this "workaroud".
Any ideas that could help me solving this problem?
    Thank you in advance!

This is the best remedy on the web for getting MANY contacts to sync from Outlook to your iPod.
First of all, you need to open iTunes and connect your iPod to make sure that you have enabled your iPod as a storage device. TO do this just look for your iPod in the DEVICES and select it. Summary Tab  Check the box, “Enable disk use.” Then make sure you click, “Apply” in the lower right corner.
In Outlook, go to Contacts and select all the items you want. You can use shift-click and control-click to choose multiple items. Choose Actions > Forward as vCard. This creates a new e-mail message with all the Contacts you selected converted to vCard format. Address and send the e-mail to a trusted friend - like yourself. Although all the vCards are right there for the taking, there's apparently no way to access them all at once except as a received e-mail. Collect your e-mail in Outlook. When you look at the received message, you should see all the vCards as attachments. Select the message that you sent with all the vCards. Choose File > Save Attachments > All Attachments. Note: if you use an e-mail program other than Outlook to collect your mail, it might not have the Save All Attachments feature. In the Save All Attachments dialog that appears, click OK. Next, you'll see a Save All Attachments file list. Navigate to your iPod's contacts folder. (Do NOT go to the folder called “iPod” in your program files. You need to find the name of your iPod in the various drives you have in your computer.) I didn’t name the folder. I just clicked OK and everything worked perfectly. You're done - the contacts have been shipped off to your iPod. Then I performed a sync and now I have every contact listed perfectly.
I modified the directions from http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mizd2969/is_200408/ain7183943
These are the best directions on the web because they avoid the individual vCard sync process.

  • Can't sync Outlook for Mac Calendar with iCloud

I've just updated my Macbook Pro to OS X and now I can't get my Outlook for Mac 2013 (14.3.9) Calendar to sync with my iPhone 5.  It seems iTunes no longer allows for syncing calendars and it all has to happen via iCloud.  Is this correct?  How do I get them to sync, then?  I've looked in other discussions (from a while ago) and none of those fixes are working.  Thanks in advance!

Thank you, randers4.  Not the solution I wanted but I am glad to get an answer.  I'd thought that since the support articles I'd seen came out before the latest update (you're right, I do have 2011) that maybe there was a work-around.  Of course all of this has been discovered after I entered my three kids' baseball/softball practice and game schedules into Outlook.  Any quick and dirty way to transfer it all over?
Thanks so much for taking the time to answer me.  Copious amounts of time has been wasted on this issue and I'l be glad to move forward.
    Warmly,
    Sara

  • Sync Outlook 2010 x86 Calendar to iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1) via iTunes 10.2.1.1

When sync'ing the calendar from MS Outlook 2010 x86 to iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1) the appointments created in MS Outlook get offset by 1hour, for example, appointment in Outlook for 10:30 appears in the iPhone calendar at 11:30. Additionally, appointments created in the iPhone calendar are offset back an hour when sync'd to MS Outlook, so a 9.30 appointment created on the iPhone appears in MS Outlook at 8:30. PC time zone is set to London GMT, iPhone date and time is set to 'Set Automatically'

  • Syncing Outlook contacts and calendar items to iCloud

I just upgrade my iPad 1 to iOS 5. Lots of fun stuff (although the upgrade process made me lose my application folder setup but this is not the subject of this message).
I currently have an Outlook mail connection with my iPad. It syncs all mails, contacts and calendar entries with my office server and my PC. Works great.
I had hoped that with iOS 5, I could have synchronised these same entries to iCloud.
But instead, I think that that you must store contacts / calander you wish to sync into the iCloud "account". If this is so, then I do not think that this would be a workable use case for me.
Any thoughts on how this could be accomplished?
    Regards
    Max

    Kris,
I don't have an iPhone yet, but here is my best guess.
It's safe to assume you went into the iTunes options when your iPhone was plugged in to sync and you checked the options for Contacts and Calendars as you had the original sync occur. Have you gone back and confirmed both of those sync options are still checked? I know iTunes updates have goofed thing up before so I figured I'd ask...
