How do I sync PDFs from my iMac to my iPad?

I did this on a regular basis before the upgrade. This is how I did it.
Hooked up Ipad to computer.
Clicked on Apps once ITunes opended.
Found the app that I used to read the pdfs which for me was PDF Reader.
Then at the bottom of the screen it asked me which pdfs I wanted to upload through a browse and find button.

Cannot wifi sync PDF with iPad

Hi all,
I can wifi sync PDF from apple store with my iPad2 but cannot when the PDF is coming from outside world. I was running iTunes from my MBP and manually drag the PDF from the iTunes book area to the book area of iDevice. I didn't use the auto sync for books as it would erase all other medias.
Is this correct behaivior?

Some more information. The PDFs from outside world can transfer to iPad over USB connector without problem.
When I opened iTunes, clicked iDevice on the left side, go to Books tab on the right side, I can only see the PDF from apple store. Then I go to the Books heading under iDevice on the left side, I can see all PDFs in the list including those from outside world.
When I go to Books heading under Library, where shows PDFs on my mac in the right side, and drag an apple PDF from there to the iDevice on the left side, I can see a green "plus" sign along with the red number sign. Then the sync happens. But when I'm dragging a non-apple PDF, I didn't see the green "plus" sign, so I cannot sync it.
I think this might be an intended design for iTunes. But then why it allows syncing over USB connector? Hope I can find some explanation for this.

How do you sync PDFs between iPad air 2 and iPhone 6 plus in iBooks?

I Have read the manual. Tried iCloud, options in iBooks and airdrop. Can't seem to do it. I finally emailed the PDFs to myself. i don't want to email all my PDFs to myself. There must be a better way.

I store things like PDFs in a DropBox account. They're then accessible from pretty much any device. On my iPad, I use PDF Expert for viewing and editing PDFs.

ITunes 10 - No longer sync PDFs to iBooks on iPad

Immediately following the upgrade to iTunes 10, I can no longer sync PDF's to my iPad (v3.2.2) for use with iBooks. Is anyone else having the same issue and even more importantly, has anyone resolved this?

Appears that in order to fix this you must delete all of your PDF documents out of iTunes and re-add them to your library.
I attempted rolling back to iTunes v9.2.1 to resolve this and the issue carried on to that version so I'm not sure what the true cause would be. Especially given that the iTunes 10 and iTunes 9 libraries were completely separate (utilized a backup copy of the v9 library for the v9 installation).
Hopefully an official "fix" for this will come out in future versions.

Why can't I sync pdfs from my iPad to my iPhone?

I have pdfs on my iphone and ipad but the two sets aren't identical and nothing I do can get them to sync to each other. In iTunes I have 'all books' selected under the books tab for both the phone and the pad.
When I tick 'selected books' I can then scoll down and tick all the pdfs that I want to sync from my iPad but the pdf that I really want to transfer is no where to be seen in iTunes. When I do the same on my iPhone iTunes doesn't even recognise a single pdf file - none of them are there.
I have tried to drag and drop the documents into iTunes or use the import feature in the menu but niether of them work for either the iPad or iPhone.
I don't understand why this is so incredibly difficult.

Make sure you have their icloud email they use for imessage in their contact information before sending them an imessage.

Syncing PDF files into my iPad Mini, but will not show in iBooks

I am trying to sync PDF files into my iPad Mini but it will not appear in the iBooks app on my iPad Mini. I have tried to unselect the book and reselect, sync all or sync selected through iTunes. Still have not figured it out! There is 9.75gb left on my iPad Mini which is more than enough space for the PDF files.

Then your family members will probably have bought their ipads with a data plan from some phone company like AT&T in the States. Maybe they even got it "sponsored", because they bought a data plan with it.
If you bought your "iPad only" from a hardware seller, you will have to get a data plan from some phone company. Seems like you only bougth the hardware! You can still use your ipad, however, and if you have an iPhone, you do not even need a sim card in your iPad, because it can use your iPhone's data plan.
That is what I did. I save the extra money for the 3G version, because with an iPhone 4 there is no need for an own sim Card in an iPad.
But that is another topic.

I would also like to have my library available on the iPad even if there isn't a wifi connection (i.e., not on the cloud). Is that possible. I don't mind if I have to purchase a separate product or a product upgrade ect.

You can't use an external hard drive like you would with a computer.
You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)
When you first connect the USB flash drive, you will only see thumbnails of the pics on the iPad; you have to import the pic file to see the full size. With your large library of pics, you will have to do this repeateably and then delete pics so you don't exceed your memory capacity.

It sounds like you had that part down. But in the article it points out that you can download the PDF from an email. If the sync doesn’t work, email the document to yourself and open it.

PDF and iPad sync support cancelled?

Has Apple discontinued support for syncing PDF's from iTunes on a desktop or laptop into iBooks in an iPad? I noticed that this was a long-standing issue, and I'm assuming it might be intentional by Apple or they would have likely fixed this already.
My PDF's do appear in my iPad books section of my desktop iTunes when synced with my iPad, but as the PDF's are nowhere to be found on my actual iPad, wouldn't it be better for Apple to stop showing that they are there (when they're clearly not)? I mean just kill it and be done with it...like Adobe Flash.
I'm using the latest iPad with all software up to date on both my iPad and Mac Pro.

Yes, they are there under Collections. I'm new to the iPad and assumed the PDF's would show up in on the iPad as they appear in iTunes on my Mac Pro; specifically, next to my books. Dumb *** iPad newbie here. Thanks for your response.

Ibooks 3.0.1 doesn't sync pdf's between iPad and iPhone

I'm using iPhone 4S w IOS 6.0.1 and third gen iPad with IOS 6.0.1
Ibooks 3.0.1. It will sync books. But will not sync PDF's. all settings on both devices are set to sync collections, books etc.
only setting not on is bother gins advance.

Its been a request for way too long...apple experts why is that still a dream.?? If you have MAC you certanly knows what that means when you wish to open a pdf in your mac preview and see in ibooks or even in a Preview App for iOS wich does not exist!!! What a black whole!!!!

Yes, you can. Just add files to iTunes library (FILE > ADD FILES TO LIBRARY....) and they will appear under Books library.
Connect you device, select the Books tab, and make sure those books or pdf you want them over are being checked, then click the SYNC button on the lower right window.

How to sync PDFs on iBooks between iPad and iPhone

I have uploaded PDFs to iBooks but they aren't syncing between devices.

The best way I found to sync PDFs in iBooks between all your IOS Devices and a Mac is to TICK the "Sync with this (Your iDevice) over Wi-Fi" setting which is found in the "Summery" when you open iTunes on your Mac and select your iDevice from the top let corner of your iTunes window or from the left side column in the Playlist amd Apply.
