Syncing photos from my Imac to my Ipad

Hi - I am trying to sync photos from iphoto onto my ipad. A message keep coming up that says photos from other libraries/folders will be removed and photos from this location synced. Photos on my Ipad will not be effected.
Can someone please tell me what this means? If I sync my photos from Iphoto to my ipad am I going to erase something on my Imac?
Thanks

It is saying that, any existing photo's libraries (from other computer's or user's) that are on the iPad will be replaced.
If I sync my photos from Iphoto to my ipad am I going to erase something on my Imac?
No, the iPhoto Library on your iMac will not be erased.
Adding that, you should also be able to prevent the loss of any existing photos on the iPad, by first Importing them into iPhoto.

How can I transfer photos from my  iMac to my iPad and not lose the ones already stored on the iPad?  When using iTunes to sync a folder from the iMac to the iPad it always removes anything previously synced.
    Help appreciated

I've just found out the reason for this behaviour. I am syncing from a computer which is different to the one I first synced with. iTunes can't cope with this situation so deletes anything synced from another source.

I cannot sync music from my iMac to my iPad.
I have tried rebooting my computer, rebooting and iPad, and nothing works.
I'm using an iMac that runs OS X 10.9.1, iTunes 11.1.4 and my iPad Air runs iOS 7.0.4.  Please help!

I could not get music and videos from the computer to the iPad and vise versa although the computer apparently was backing up the iPad. After playing around with them a bit I finally got the two devices to share media again. i still get the message that the iPad and the computer cannot sync - now that i got them to start sharing again i'm not sure how them "not syncing" is going to affect me as yet.
    Thanks for the effort

    THank you!

As user Winston Churchill told another user with your same question:
"Enable photo stream synchronisation on both devices in settings> iCloud. Note; only photos taken after synchronisation is enabled will be added to photo stream.
To sync any photos that are not part of photo stream, you will need to sync the photos to your computer via iTunes first and then to the other device."

You need to sync your iPad to your computer. When in iTunes click of your device then photos. You can then select the album(s) you want. Then just click on sync.

  • How do I add photos from my imac to my ipad

You either sync the photos with iTunes or upload them to the iPad with Photo Stream.

Sync photos and video clips using iTunes
Connect your iOS device to your computer.Note:  If Wi-Fi syncing is on in iTunes, you don’t need to connect the device to your computer, but they both need to be on the same Wi-Fi network, and the computer needs to be on. For more information on Wi-Fi syncing with iTunes, see your device’s user guide.
In iTunes, select your device and click Photos at the top of the window.
Select “Sync Photos from” and select the photos you want to sync to your device. On a Mac with photos in an iPhoto or Aperture library, selecting an album or event organizes the photos as an album or event in iPhoto. You can sync your entire library or select specific albums and events. On a Windows computer, selecting a folder organizes the photos as an album in iPhoto.
If you want to sync video clips, select the “Include videos” checkbox.
    Click Apply.
When the sync is complete, click  ⏏ next to your device, and disconnect your device.
    For Photo Stream see:

  • TS3988 How can I sync photos from my Iphone5 to my Ipad Mini???  Thanks!

How can I sync phots from my Iphone5 to my Ipad Mini?? Thank you!

Sign into the same iCloud account on both devices in Settings>iCloud and turn on photo stream.  After that new photos added to camera roll on either device will be added to photo stream when the camera app is closed, it's connected to wifi and has at least 20% battery life remaining.
If you want to stream older photos from your phone to your iPad Mini, add them to a shared stream and invite yourself as a subscriber, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99.

  • Can I transfer photos from my iMac to my iPad via wi-fi or Bluetooth?

I have a PDF reader on my iPad that can fetch files from my iMac via wi-fi: All I do is open the PDF reader on the iPad, then open a browser on the computer and type in the URL the PDF reader gives me. (Or I can have that URL bookmarked, even easier.) A web page opens up that allows me to select any PDF file on the computer and upload it to the iPad. Easy and simple.
But to get a photo from the iMac into iPhoto on the iPad, I have to first open iPhoto on the computer, which takes a LONG time, as it has to load its whole list of photos. Then I have to plug the iPad into the computer, and wait while iTunes does the completely unnecessary backup. Only then can I import the one photo I want.
Is there any way to get a photo from a random folder on the computer directly to iPhoto on the iPad, via my home wi-fi network that both the computer and the iPad are already on, without all the rigamarole described above? The fact that the PDF reader can do this suggests to me that it should be possible.
    Any help???
    iMac 5.1
    OS X 10.6.8
    iPad Air
    iOS 7.0.3
    Thanks in advance.

There are apps such as Simple Transfer which allow you to transfer photos to/from your iPad and your computer via your wifi network - they will copy into the Camera Roll album in the Photos app on your iPad

    I had a similar problem (https://discussions.apple.com/message/24525903#24525903)
The solution in my case was to start iPhoto and let it update the library, even thu itunes was set up to sync with Aperture.

  • Why do my appts show 2 hours later after I sync them from my iMac to my iPad? Both are set to same city/timezone

Every time I sync my iPad with my I Mac my iCal appts from the iMac show up 2 hours later in the iPad Calendar. I thought I was going to be done with this sort of problem when I got the iPad (vs years of trying to sync Palm Pilots to Mac.) yes, both are set to the same time zone, the one where I am currently located.

Thank you King. I tried deleting the cache but that did not fix the problem.
I did fix the probem as follows:
exported all photos from the event in iPhoto into a new desktop folder on my Mac
deleted those same photos within iPhoto (put them into Trash)
    emtied Trash in iPhoto
    restarted iPad and Mac
imported photos from desktop folder which created a new event in iPhoto
syned iPad to Mac via USB cable
Now all the photos in the event on my Mac are also in the event on my iPad.
