Syncing photos from windows to 5th gen. iPod

I have twice synched photos from Windows PC to iPod. Each time the new photos have replaced the old photos, which were removed from my iPod. What do you suggest for resolving this issue?

That's simply how it works when you use automatic photo syncing. If you want to keep the existing photos in your iPod you need to set it to update photos manually, not automatically.

Here are some possible solutions:
Do you use musicmatch jukebox on your computer? If you do, you have to go into task manager on windows and end process mim.exe. It interferes with disconnecting ext devices
Empty your "trash/recycle bin."
If that doesn't work, try quitting all your programs, especially music-type programs, basically things that look for mp3's etc.
if that doesn't work, "log off" then "log on" and that should refresh/purge your OS system.
Finally, you can restart your computer.

Everytime I sync photos from my computer onto my ipod they go into two different folders, and not the camera roll. I really want to have them in the camera roll and was wondering if there was a way to do so,

There is, but I would avoid that method if I were you.
The Camera Roll (on an iPod Touch) is where photos taken on the iPod, screenshots taken on the iPod and also saved images are located.
Although other people may alternative suggestions, I regard the Camera Roll a temporary loctation, until the next Sync with iTunes. At that time, it is wise to move the pictures from the Camera Roll and put them somewhere on your computer. This means that when (rather than if) the iPod requires a Restore, you don't lose your pictures, since a Restore will remove all content from the iPod, and only put back onto the iPod what is on the computer.
For safety, I copy the Camera Roll pictures, into a folder which will then put them back onto the iPod in the Photo Library, and only once sucessfully copied, do I then delete them from my iPod' Camera Roll.
As for the two different folders...
You can only choose one folder on your computer to Sync with your iPod, named for instance, "Piccys" and in there are (for example) general photos. However, also in that folder, you can have sub-folders, named for instance "Family" which have only photos of the family. Once the folder "Piccys" is Synced with your iPod, when you look in the Photos App on the iPod, you will see a list of sections;
Photo Library
Family
The "Photo Library section" will have all the photos, both from the "Piccys folder" and the "Family folder" listed as one list. However, if you look in the "Family section", you will see only the photos in the "Family folder".
So in your situation, I suggest that you create a sub-folder in your chosen "Sync folder" and place all the Camera roll pictures in that. What you certainly should not be doing is leaving photos in the Camera Roll or trying to put other pictures into the Camera Roll. That will be a recipe for disaster.
By the way, in my experience, the more pictures in the Camera roll, the slower a Sync becomes.

Place both the old photos and the new photos in the same folder you sync photos with. Youcan have one level of subfolders in the one syncing folder.

Because you can only sync one folder. What you can do is to put each of your two folder in another folder and since to that one folder. You can only nest one ( one folder in one other folder, not one folder in another folder and that folder in another folder).

Sync photos from Windows XP problems

Problem syncing photos to AppleTV. The AppleTV is connected to an Apple Airport. The Airport also is set up with a disk drive. All my photos are stored on that drive. The AppleTV is set up to sync with my Dell (windowsXP Pro)laptop running iTunes. It syncs music, TV shows, podcasts, all OK.

I played around with the ITUNES pictures till I figured out what works for me. In my docs, my pictures is a folder called Itunes photos. I drag the photos I want to sync into that folder. In ITUNES I can select the appropriate ATV and in the photos tab, tell it to sync that folder. They show up.
Rather than try and figure out how ITUNES and the ATV actually work (too painful for this DOS guy) I just leave the settings alone and manage my synced photos in that aforementioned foto file folder.

I was wondering how big or small the photos have to be before I sync them. I have about 50 in my My Pictures file, all in an ipod acceptable format, but only 20-25 sync.
I figure it's the size of the others that's preventing them from syncing.

very new to the Ipod experinace, gereral puter skill though.
but to my pondering, very good mp3 player. not impressed with user freindlyness of itunes, can you view and add photos or vidios with a drag and drop. hard time understaning this sync only thing. if i delete old videos cuse they are on the ipod will when syning see it is not there and delete verson on ipod?

figured out way to get videos on ipod. major question:
why does itunes and quicktime pro 7 convert to ipod video, but only convert picture side. why leave out the audio? thinking about buying conveting software couse apple doesn't make a converter for there products.

When I sync photos from the computer to my iPod 2 albums appear on my iPod with the same photos in them. How do I stop this?? One of the albums is called what the folder I synced is called and the other is called photo library.

The photo library is just all the photos on the iPod. There is only one copy of the photos, they are just is two albums, the specific album with is also show in the photos album which includes all photos.

Hello! I updated my itouch 4g with iOS 6 using iTunes at Windows 7. After updating, my musics and videos are still there but my synced photos from the computer are lost. You need to obtain the synced photos from where you obtained them the first time. Synced media like apps, music and synced photos are not included in the backup that iTunes makes as the first step of an update or restore.

3. I have 15,000 Jpeg images stored on an iMac but not in iPhoto. The folder structure is extensive and named in a manner that I understand. If I want to download all 15,000 Jpeg images via iTunes will the folder structure-names and each file code number be kept the same. In other words I want to duplicate the whole archive; folders, files and names and access the same family tree of folders and files as if on an iMac, is this possible?.
4. What is the useable GB hard drive space on a 5th gen 60GB iPod?.

1) You can actually downlaod photos directly from iphoto library .....you can set up folders within iphoto and the pholders will appear on the ipod. But i am unaware of elements transfer on a mac (never done it b4).
4) the useable gb on a ipod hard drive is slightly less that the advertised 30gb or 60gb it in reality done mathematically is slightly less. So it is likely 1 or 2 gb lower than the advertised gb storage.Other factors that key intyo the avialble disk storage is apporx how many songs and other files that are stored on your ipod not including the photos you want to place on there.
