Syncing pictures back to PC

Is there a way to sync pictures taken on my iPad (in the camera roll album on the iPad) back to the PC that I hook it up to sync with?   When I hook my iPad up to sync wiht the PC it moves pictures I have identified to move from the PC to the iPad, but it doesn't move the pictures I took on the iPad to the PC.

Copying photos in the camera roll/saved photos album to your computer is done outside of iTunes - there are instructions here : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083

If all you did was sync your phone, and if you haven't synced again since this happened, you can restore your phone from the backup that was created at the beginning of the sync process (camera roll photos are included in the backup).  If you have synced again since this happened this backup has already been overwritten and your photos are lost.  Also, if you restored your phone from the backup of your iPod, rather than just synced, then your  photos are lost too.
If you have an intact backup that contains these photos, do the following:
Without connecting your phone, open iTunes on your computer and go to Preferences.  On the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".
Connect your phone to your computer, right-click on the name of your phone when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar and select Restore from Backup, choose your most recent backup to restore from.
When complete, you can go back to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and re-enable automatic syncing.

My Iphone 4s automatically synced when I started ITunes. When it did this it saved all of my pictures on my computer to my phone. How do I reverse this and take the pictures back off of my iPhone?

Yeah, my iPhone 4S sometimes manages to connect to wifi for about 10 minutes now. I think there is a problem related with the antenna because when the phone heats up, the WIFI stops working. I had a similar experience with my older iPhone 4S which I bought from the U.S.A. (unlocked version) but after a couple of days, WIFI icon grayed out and I wasn't able to switch it on and off. Now the phone I'm using was bought in Turkey from a local carrier, (it's not locked I suppose) I'm planning on upgrading to an iPhone 6 and I will try to get my 4S repaired. I hope it is something related with software rather than hardware. Because a friend of mine sent his phone to the local Apple store to be fixed, they sent the phone back claiming that they had repaired it. But in about 2 days, the phone shut itself down and never turned off back again lol. I don't want to experience the same thing. But anyway, thanks for your answer. At least now I know that I'm not the only one that has this problem .

  • I restored my iPhone, then I set it up and used it without syncing it to my computer. When I plugged it in, it used back-up and now everything I did before I did the back-up is gone. Can I get those pictures back somehow?

My iPhone was restored. I set it up without syncing it to the computer. I used it. I then plugged it into the computer. It used back-up and made it just like it was before I restored it. Everything I did before I plugged it in is now gone. Is there any way to undo that to get those pictures back?

when you open the app store scroll down to the bottom it will display the apple id currently in use, change it to your normal apple id email

  • I synced my sisters phone with my itunes and now all her contacts have disappeared and been replaced with mine and also photos... she has never done a back-up is there any way we can get all her contacts and pictures back?

I synced my sisters phone with my itunes and now all her contacts have disappeared and been replaced with mine and also photos... she has never done a back-up is there any way we can get all her contacts and pictures back?

Look under iTunes>Preferences>Devices...is there a backup listed for her phone? First thing done when you sync is an iPhone backup. If you have not synced since screwing her phone up, restoring from that backup(if it exists) should restore her content. Do not sync after you restore her phone, eject it. So, first disable auto-sync on that same device pane in iTunes before you proceed. If this doesn't work, is your sister bigger than you? If so, run 'cause her data is gone .

  • HT204053 I had my iphone stolen and I now have a new one and I got most of my pictures back but some very important pictures from my niece's baptism were on my other phone is there anyway to get those back?  I have icloud but dont know if I set the new ph

I restored my new phone from an earlier date than my niece's baptism.  I don't know if I should have restored or set up as a new phone.  But my problem now is that I really want those pictures.  I had icloud on that phone and the new one.  Can anyone help me or tell me if I can get those pictures back.  When I log into my itunes account on my computer it still shows the other phone as a device but I only see where you can remove that device.  Thank you need to take a class on all this new technology.

Like a digital camera, you should be syncing your photos from iphone to a computer often.  If you have been doing that, you should find the photos on the computer.
If you had been backing up you iphone to icloud, then you could restore the backup, but many users have complained here that they lost all their photos when doing a restore, none seem to have been in the backup.  Since your new phone is new, then try doing a restore (you should have done that when you first set up the new phone - if you did and the photos did not come back, then they are lost).
To restore, look through this help page, scroll to the bottom for restore instructions.

  • When I try to sync pictures.....

So, I'm following all the steps to sync pictures to my iPhone. I click photos tab in iTunes on my device, select the folder I want the pictures to come from. But when I click apply, a dialog box appears asking "do you really want to remove 32 apps from your iPhone?". Huh? Why would one action have anything to do with the other? Why would adding pictures have any impact on what apps are on my phone?
    Thanks,
    Confused

If all of the iTunes content on your phone is in your iTunes library, and you are signed into the same iTunes account both on your computer & on your phone(Settings>Store) and this is the identical computer you've synced with before, it should not happen. However, if it does, just sync the content back to your phone.
Are you positive the hard drive on this computer has not been replaced? Reformatted? These things will trigger that message as well.

  • I restored my IPod th other day, and I lost EVERYTHING. How do I get all my music and pictures back?

I restored my Ipod touch the other day. I lost literally EVERYTHING. How do I get all my pictures back, and all my music back?

You can redownload most iTunes purchases by.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If you have a backup of the iPod (iTunes>Preferences>Devices), restoring from that backup will restore photos taken by or saved to the iPod up to when the backup was made. The backup does not contain synced itemslike apps and music.

  • How do i get my pictures back if they were all backed up for iTunes for a long time?

I'm going to try and make this question sound as simple as possible and hope for a simple answer as well
I take plenty of pictures and simply don't have room for them on my phone. So i back up my phone to iTunes (i think- well i sync my music at least) every 2 weeks or so and then DELETE the pictures on my phone so i have more room available. so if i never deleted any phone pictures i would have over 15,000 pictures.
anyways--- my iPhoto library randomly disappeared and cannot be located (See other discussion i posted) and i was wondering if i am able to get back the pictures. i did not back up any pictures to a hard drive. were my pictures backed up to iTunes or my iPhoto library every time i plugged in my phone??
    please reply

Backing up to iTunes and storing photos in iPhoto are two unrelated things.
I'd ask about your iTunes back up on the iPhone forum.

Sorry you can't.  Looks like your phone restore to an older backup.
future reference import your pics to your PC, that way you can always sync it back using itunes

  • How do I get my old pictures back? They were said to be backed up.

Recently, I synced my iPhone with my old laptop, which contained about 6000 pictures. A few days after that, I reformatted my computer which meant those picture files are only left on my iPhone.
Yesterday, i synced my iPhone with my new desktop (although I only wanted to sync my music), and ended up losing all 6000 pictures that I had. Before losing those pics and during the syncing, I saw that iTunes were backing up my files. Question is, how do I get my old pictures back? =( Please help me. =(

Very sorry, but you cannot get them back from the phone or its backup. Photos synced from a computer _are not_ backed up as part of the iPhone backup process (only Camera Roll pics, those actually shot with the iPhone, are backed up). See this kbase article for info on what is and isn't backed up.
Hopefully, you have an existing backup of the pics on an external drive, etc., or some other way to get the pics back (originals on CDs, prints to scan, etc.). If the pics were still on the phone, 3rd party software could have been used to get them off (although at reduced quality, since pics synced to the phone are reduced to ~0.6 megapixel images).

  • Syncing pictures without duping the file

I already had a photo library file on my Iphone with a few pics. I added new pics by syncing from my pc and it duplicated the file on my Iphone and added a second file using the name I had the pictures saved in from the PC. Now I have two files with the same pictures. Any suggestions?

One thing that might help out.
If you synced photos to the pc that you had taken with the iphone, these photos remain on the iphone unless you have the wizard remove them or you remove them manually.
Then if you sync them back to the iphone, the photos now show up in Photo Library and Camera roll.
When the iphone is connected to the computer and has photos taken with the iphone, you can open the iphone in my computer to see the photos or delete them. You cannot add photos back this way.
Another thing that might help out.
When you sync photos to the iphone from the computer, the photos might show up in what seems 2 sections.
The first section is called the Photo Library.
This section is the main holding place for all photos.
Then if you are syncing a particular folder or album the iphone will create another listing with he name of that folder or album.
To save space, the iphone does not duplicate the pictures in 2 different sections of the iphone.
Instead the iphone create a link to what is already in the Photo Library.
This feature is to help organize the photos on your iphone.
So, if you are syncing multiple folders or albums, you can see the contents of that folder or album on the iphone without having to view every thing.
    Hope this helps.

  • Syncing pictures from photo version 1

On my MAC, iPhoto is no longer available and has changed to Photos.  I have been syncing my iPhone in iTunes with the option to sync pictures from iPhoto.  This apparently is no longer working.  I have selected the "Copy photos from:" to Photos, but no pictures are coming up to sync with.  What am I missing?

You won't be able to copy them via iTunes or iPhoto - only photos copied via the camera connection kit or saved from websites/emails can be copied via iPhoto (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083). I think the assumption is that if you've synced them from a computer then you've already got a copy of them.
    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236 :
+Pictures that have been synced from your computer to your device cannot be reimported back to your computer. Only pictures in the Camera Roll or Saved Photos can be imported from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device, email them directly from the device to yourself and then copy them from the emails to your computer.+
Depending on how many photos you're talking about, and whether you've got access to the computer where they came from, I don't know if there is an easier way of doing it other than emailing them.

  • Syncing pictures problem w Aperture

I have been syncing one particular album without problem. Now after a few changes in the album (deleting a couple pictures, adding light and so on), iTunes can only see 11 pictures in my album (there are 51). It can see the album in iTunes, I can tick the box but it only says 11. I also have an album I sync that has 108 pictures in it but iTunes only sees 24. Very strange
I have tried restarting all devices and I've been deleting iPod photo cache without success.
Does anyone know what's going on and how I can fix this?
    Thank you
    Sophie

I didn't find the cause of it but I did find a solution.
Export all pictures (in the albums you are having trouble with). Make sure you export the versions, I tried doing exporting the originals but that didn't work.
Then delete the pictures and then album.
Import the pictures back in to Aperture.
After that iTunes recognized all my pictures.
