Syncing pictures to Apple TV

I had to upgrade my OS on my computer. I saved my music and pictures to an external hard drive. I have transfered those files back to my computer, and my music works and syncs fine. But I want to sync my pictures to my Apple TV. I have checked the box to Sync photos from: Pictures, but I don't want to sync all pictures but the only option for selected folders is the folder "My Pictures" and i need to access subfolders that are within the folder My Pictures. Can this option be changed?

Rossingi 33,
I am using a windows machine so I am not sure if my solution will work the same on a Mac. I clicked on the Apple TV under devices. Mine is setup to Automatic Sync. I clicked on the Photos tab and then I checked the sync photos from: there is an up down arrow in the gray box. I clicked it and then selected choose folder. This opened a new Explorer Window and I found My Pictures in this new window. Once I selected My Pictures it showed all sub folders within My Pictures and allowed me to select the folders I wanted to sync with Apple TV. Hope this helps.

I have a IPhone 3G and I want to Wireless Sync Pictures to the Apple TV. Has anyone been able to accomplish this process. Is their an application that does this?

When I connect the IPhone to the computer it syncs. How can I wireless sync a picture from the IPhone to the computer then to the Apple TV.
you could upload to mobileme via the iphone, and then view the mobileme gallery on the appletv.
this would require you to have a mobileme account though.
another way would be to have a flickr account and then upload/email the photo to flickr via the iphone and then view that flickr account on appletv.
bear in mind though that the photo in both cases will be of reduced resolution. the only way to get the full resolution would be to manually sync the photo via cable to your computer.

  • Syncing pictures from pc without deleting pics already on Ipod?

Why is apple so difficult???? I would like to transfer pictures from my pc to my Ipod Touch 4g, but when i press the sync button, it tells me that it will delete all 24 of my apps that are currently on my Ipod. But why?? Why would it delete my apps when ALL i want to do is add pictures? Apple needs to do some serious work on Itunes. it is absolutely horrible. please tell me how I can move my pictures to my Ipod without deleting all of my apps. It would really help my hatred towards Apple right now.

Have you not been syncing your apps?
Did you uncheck the sync apps box? If so, then don't.
it is very simple and easy to use. Whatever you have checked will be synced to your ipod. Whatever you do not have synced will not be on your ipod.

  • Syncing pictures/vids with PC Suite

Will we ever be able to sync pictures and videos using Nokia PC Sync? I am using PC Suite ver 7.1 and I want to be able to sync pictures and videos on my phone with a certain folder on my PC.
If I choose to sync 'Files and folders' with PC sync, you are only allowed to sync a folder called 'Briefcase' on the phone with the PC. Is there any way to choose what folders on the phone are synced with the PC?
I know that Ovi suite will allow me to sync pictures/vids, but I dont want to use it becuase its unbearably bloated and slow and I much prefer the lightweight PC Suite.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Is there a way to sync pictures taken on my iPad (in the camera roll album on the iPad) back to the PC that I hook it up to sync with?   When I hook my iPad up to sync wiht the PC it moves pictures I have identified to move from the PC to the iPad, but it doesn't move the pictures I took on the iPad to the PC.

  • Syncing pictures from photo version 1

On my MAC, iPhoto is no longer available and has changed to Photos.  I have been syncing my iPhone in iTunes with the option to sync pictures from iPhoto.  This apparently is no longer working.  I have selected the "Copy photos from:" to Photos, but no pictures are coming up to sync with.  What am I missing?

You won't be able to copy them via iTunes or iPhoto - only photos copied via the camera connection kit or saved from websites/emails can be copied via iPhoto (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083). I think the assumption is that if you've synced them from a computer then you've already got a copy of them.
    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236 :
+Pictures that have been synced from your computer to your device cannot be reimported back to your computer. Only pictures in the Camera Roll or Saved Photos can be imported from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device, email them directly from the device to yourself and then copy them from the emails to your computer.+
Depending on how many photos you're talking about, and whether you've got access to the computer where they came from, I don't know if there is an easier way of doing it other than emailing them.

  • IPod cannot be synced error (-39) when trying to sync pictures to IPod Nano

I have an iPod Nano that will sync music perfectly. When I try to sync Pictures I get a dialog box that says...
The iPod "xxxx" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-39).
If I uncheck the "Sync photos from... button the sync will then work. I tested this with just a single picture form my iPhoto library so I don't think its an iPhoto issue.
    Anyone have any ideas?

I have the same issue with 2 Apple TVs and an iPhone. Get the message every time I try to sync photos. This link:

seems to indicate it is some corrupt file or something. Not sure what to look for though.

  • What is the best way to share over 1000 pictures on Apple TV?

What is the best way to share over 1000 pictures on Apple TV?

    Creating Shared Photo Streams:
Shared Photo Streams are permanent iCloud albums for storing photos and videos that can sync across all your iCloud-enabled devices. This is different from your "My Photo stream" that's basically a running tally only holding photos for about a month or 1,000. Shared streams follow different rules...
In your photos app in an iPhone or ipad, at the bottom you'll see a "shared" icon.  Choose it and then create a new shared stream, you don't have to actually share it with anyone when it prompts you for a contact just click "Create".  Then choose the photos you want in there.  If your Apple TV is linked to your iCloud account you will be able to see those shared streams.
    See here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5902.
    Apple states:
How many photos and videos can be stored in a shared stream?
A shared stream can hold a maximum of 5000 photos and videos combined. When you reach your limit, you must delete some photos or videos before adding new ones.
How long are iCloud Photo Sharing photos and videos stored in iCloud?
The photos and videos you share (and the comments or Likes associated with those photos) remain in iCloud until you or the contributor delete them manually, or until you delete the shared stream completely.

  • Itunes encounters an error and closes when I try to sync pictures

When I try to sync pictures to my itouch itunes encounters an error and shuts down. I have the itouch attached to the computer and my settings are to get pictures from file folder. I have done all the updates and have searched the support discussions for some ideas, but have had no lock. All the software is current. Any help would be greatly appriecated.

itunes encounters an error and shuts down.
That would be an unusual error message to be getting if you were having a problem with a photo cache ... but just in case ...
Try deleting your iTunes photo cache, as per the following document:
Photo Sync creates iPod photo Cache
... can you get a photo sync to go through without the crash after that?

  • How many devices can sync to one apple ID?

How many devices can sync to one apple ID?  I need to get all my music from an old computer to my new computer.  I just purchased an album on my new computer and it's not syncing with my iPhone 5 and I don't want to pay $25 for the Cloud.

You can sync as many idevices as you like to one computer/library
The iphone will sync with one and only one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content fro the iphone.

  • How to keep synced library on Apple TV but delete synced items from iTunes

I use a Macbook Pro and space is limited, so does anyone know of a clean way to break the sync connection without deleting the existing synced content on Apple TV? I'd like to move items over, and then delete from my iTunes library to save space. I will also later want to add new items to be streamed, but without causing any past synching to be lost.
Can this be done by simply unchecking the "look for Apple TV" box in iTunes? If so, how can I then stream new content from the same Macbook Pro without causing past synced content to be lost? Since the syncing is quite slow over wireless network, I want to maintain commonly watched items on the apple TV but still ave the ability to stream a new item, from the same macbook pro if possible.

Thanks for the information. Just to be sure I'm clear: after I synch the one library (which I'll keep on an external hard drive where I have more space), is it OK to keep it around and make future changes that I want synced (and then just connect that library for synching whenever I want to change what is synched)? When I change back to my on-board library (on the Macbook pro), will that library not be synched automatically? Must I do anything on the Apple TV or in iTunes, other than start up with the different library, to ensure that my previously synched changes are not superceded?
Are you effectively saying that the synching of Apple TV is specific to a single iTunes library, even if different libraries are successively used in iTunes on the same machine? The manual has basically no information on how to preserve things synced, once synced, unless you're using the simplest model of wanting your iTunes library to be actively mirrored on the Apple TV. It is very painful to see things inadvertently deleted from Apple TV, given ow slowly things move over wireless g networks...
