Syncing Playlists between different iPods

I have a few different iPods. One of them as a handful of AWESOME playlists that I'd like to put on my other iPod (my sister wants them).
I don't want to take the time to recreate every playlist everytime I want to transfer one.
Their all synced to the same, this, computer. I though it would be as simple as dragging the playlist off one iPod, into iTunes, then to another iPod. But I can not +drag and drop+ or transfter playlists off my iPod.
Any help is much appreciated.

My Playlists are just normal ones. Some of them I created by hand in iTunes, some I used the "On The Go" feature on the iPod itself.
I Manually sync and manage all of my playlists/movies/music, everything.
I can NOT manually drag and drop playlists off my iPod. Can't transfter them to my other ipods nor my computer. I figure there has to be a file in the iPod control folder on my iPod, or something.
Also, I found some flaws in that artical, helpful as it was.
Such as "Note: iTunes for Windows does not support having multiple iPods connected simultaneously." Thats wrong. The Windows version of iTunes DOES support having multiple iPods connected simultaneously. I'm doing it right now. I can even be transfering music to both at the same time.

  • HT201269 How to sync playlists between two iPods ?

Previously, I could sync my nano, eject, insert wife’s shuffle, re-sync, and my latest playlists would sync to her iPod. That sequence isn’t working

If you are using the latest iTunes (11.4) then I suggest that you wait for the next update to iTunes as there do appear to be some issues with the current release. I'm sure that Apple are aware of the probelms and are working to fix them with the next release.
In the meantime, if you receive any other helpful and useful suggestions, by all means try them.

  • How do I sync calendars between two iPods

End goal: I want to sync calendars between my iPod touch & my spouse's.
I was told I needed to set up iCloud, but (after a LONG time of figuring out that my 2nd gen can't support iOS6) it seems like that can't happen. Is there another way to sync calendars? I can already (sort-of) sync with the outlook calendar on my desktop PC.
Thanks in advance for any help!

You only need iOS 5 or higher to use iCloud, but that won't help since the 2nd gen iPod Touch can't be updated beyond iOS 4.2.1.  Your other options for sharing your calendar are to sync both devices with Outlook on the same computer (as you are doing), or use a different cloud option such as Google (where you could set up a gmail account as an exchange account on both devices as shown here: http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740, and enable calendar syncing).

  • How Do I Sync playlists between my computer and iPod?

    Hello itunes community,
What happened was that I made a playlist in itunes a while ago and copied it over to my iPod. Since then, I've been managing my playlist through my ipod ONLY. Is there a way to make it so that 1) I can copy the updated playlist I have from my ipod BACK into my itunes library and 2) Keep the two synced so that whatever change I make to the playlist in my iPod reflects in my itunes library (Or vice versa)? I want to do this for my playlists ONLY, not my entire library.
    Thanks Everyone,
    Dj Loso

Per the users guide, a playlist you make on the iPod will sync back to your iTunes library on your computer.  One the playlist is in your iTunes library just sync the playlist to your other iDevices.
    From Users Guide:
    Create a playlist:
1 Tap Playlists (tap More first, if Playlists isn’t visible), then tap “Add Playlist…”
2 Type a name for your playlist, then tap Save.
3 Browse for songs using the buttons at the bottom of the screen. Tap any song or video
to add it to the playlist. Tap Add All Songs at the top of any list of songs to add all the
    songs in the list.
4 When you finish, tap Done.
When you make a playlist and then sync iPod touch to your computer, the playlist is
    synced to your iTunes library.

  • Music volume discrepancy between different Ipods

I have an Iphone 2G an Ipod Touch and lately i bought an Ipod Classic with 160GB in order to be able to upload most of my music and have it all with me all the time.
It took me quite a lot of time to create my own playlists, especially to adjust and match the volume of each track.
in itunes i adjust the volume with the slider on the options tab if necessary. i can hear the result directly in itunes and i get more or less the same result on my ipod touch and on my iphone. but on my ipod classic the tracks get a completely different volume. tracks that i had to turn up to 100% completely in order to make them sound "right" in itunes are horribly loud on my ipod classic. they are 4-5 times louder than an unadjusted track. i am not sure if this is really intended, i assume it is a bug, as the track-volume i get from my ipod classic doesn't reflect the adjustments i did in itunes.
i tried turning on and off automatic volume adjustment on the ipod, but it didn't change anything, the tracks which should be slightly louder are much too loud now.
i didn't find any workaround for this, as i would need to drag all tracks twice into itunes and adjust them differently if i want to sync them for an ipod touch or an ipod classic.
i hope someone can help, but for me it sounds definitely like an overlooked firmware bug.

it is turned off of course, otherwise itunes will try to adjust the volume automatically, which never really worked when i tried it.
i would prefer to adjust the volume manually for all selected tracks.

  • I can't sync playlists from my iPod 5th gen to my iTunes library on new laptop

I have a new laptop and have managed to move all my music to it and install iTunes and all the albums are correct and present, but it was a bit complicated. I'm not sure if we missed a step in moving everything via a larger hard drive, but my playlists were not transferred and even though my iTunes recognises my iPod 5th gen it won't actually sync. I have run the diagnostic test, it says it's all fine. It won't sync new purchases and I can't copy playlists from my iPod back into the iTunes library. I have 15 playlists and I don't want to do it all over again. Does anyone have any ideas?
    Anyone have any ideas?

I did find that if I bought new songs from iTunes that I could transfer them to playlists on my iPod, but otherwise when I connect the iPod, under settings (on the left under the device icon) if I select music, it brings up the tick box for sync music. If I try to tick that box, it asks if I am sure if I want to remove existing music and sync with this iTunes library.

  • Syncing itunes to different ipods.

I am thinking about getting Iphone so I was wondering if I could sync my itunes music library to more then one ipod/iphone? I wasn't sure If you can do this or not. I had a lot bother moving my music from my mini to my classic the last time and ended with duplicate songs which I had to delete manually. So any help would be much appreciated.

Yes. When you connect the new device, iTunes will recognize that it is different. You can set the various sync controls separately for each device separately, and iTunes will honor them when each device is synced.
I sync two different iPods to the same library on a regular basis, and some folks (esp. families) use a lot more than two.

  • How to sync playlists between iTunes computers?

    Hi all
I have a main server in the house that also acts as an iTunes server for streaming songs/movies etc to my various Apple TV's around the house.  The main server has iTunes on it (obviously), but I do not have easy access to the server as it is locked away in the loft of the house.  For day to day iTunes use I tend to use my laptop in my home office and that's where I tend to make up my playlists, arrange my music and do downloads from the iTunes store..
The server in the loft is set to automatically transfer purchases made on my laptop and this generally works fine.  However, what I find frustrating is that my playlists do not sync, and any new tunes dowloaded and placed into playlists on my laptop are not automatically added to the correct playlist on the server (which is supposed to be an exact mirror of my laptop iTunes library).
Would it be possible for apple to add an option to automatically sync playlists (to the /Settings/Home sharing,/automatically transfer new purchases: music, films, books, apps, Tv options)?... Or am I missing something and there's already an easy way to do this.  I can't believe i'm the only person that has this request, but i've searched the forum and can find nothing on this topic.
Please get in touch if you need further clarification or if you are able to help me.
    Thanks
    Jem

The feature you are asking about is not there so you are not missing anything. The only way to get Apple's attention regarding this matter is to send them feedback. If enough people request a feature maybe Apple will impliment it.

  • How do I sync iMessage between my iPod touch and my MacBook Pro on Mountain Lion?

I have just recently downloaded Mountain Lion and I also have an iPod touch that I use iMessage on. I was wondering if there was any way to sync the messages between the two devices.

"I just got a new laptop and downloaded itunes, but the itunes library doesn't have any songs."
Probably because you didn't put any music on your new computer. It doesn't magically appear.
"Does this mean that if I sync my ipod on my laptop all the songs on my ipod will get erased?"
    Yes.
Move all of the music ( and all of your other info/pics/docs/etc) from your old computer to your new one.
As provided you can just use your backup copy for this. It is one of the many reasons that ALWAYS maintaining a backup copy is basic.

  • Can u/how do u  share playlists between different apple accounts on the same computer?

My other half has own iphone    how do I share i tunes with 2 different phones and 2 itunes ids

First thing you need to do is disable auto syncing in iTunes. This is from Edit>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, etc.
Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is set up separate log in accounts for the laptop. This will allow you to have iTunes in each log in and they can have different content. iTunes cannot have separate content with the same log in and different Apple ID, but you can manage two phones with the same iTunes account. See if any of the information in this support document will help you http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1495 but the best solution is separate computer log in.

  • Need to sync calendars between two iPod touchs,  8GB 3rd Generation

I use Microsoft Works on my PC and iTunes does not recognize the Works calendar. Therefore I use the iPod's Apps calendar. I recently purchased an identical iPod for my wife and can't find a way to sync the calendars between the two iPods.

I think you can sync both of them to the same Google Calendar account when you have WiFi access. See this: http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?answer=138740&cbid=riutrlst6g 98&src=cb&lev=answer
Pay special attention to step 13 to avoid problems.

  • Conflicts Between Different iPod Models ?

I started with an iPhone. Later on I added a 2 GB iPod Shuffle. Both worked with iTunes on same PC computer, no problem. Recently I added an iPod Classic. Now iPod Shuffle is not recognized by iTunes or my PC but it does charge. I have tried another PC, same results. I have done it all (re-booting PC etc) and even got a replacement iPod Shuffle from Apple under warranty. Apple tells me they will all run on same computer, but it looks to me like the iPod Classic software overwrites Shuffle and Shuffle is no longer recognized by PC ir by iTunes. Anyone have experience like this ??

I disabled the Power Management option, but it did not help. What seems strange is that my iPhone and iPod Classic work fine. One iPod Shuffle worked for a while then stopped being recognized. Now a second (replacement) 2 GB Shuffle is not recognized either, but the other two iPod devices (phone and Classic) work ok. It seems to be something related to the Shuffle software. The new one was not recognized and the Setup Assistant never ran for it, on either of the laptops. I have also tried different cables and re-loaded iTunes software. Shuffle still not recognized.
