Syncing podcasts on laptop main PC?
Hi,
How do I not re-subscribe and re-download all my podcasts between two PCs? For example my main PC has 10 podcasts subscriptions and some 30 videos. How do I make the iTunes on my laptop subscribe to the same podcasts without manually subbing to them all and how do I make it also register the files if I manually copy them across.
Currently I am manually updating the podcasts subscriptiosn and re-downloading them as needed. I expect there is an easier way.
I would try removing and reinstalling all the Apple software using these instructions. Make sure that you dwnload/install the correct (32 or 64 bit) software for your computer OS..

I have sync linked to my main laptop. I recently wanted to merge my secondary laptop bookmarks with my main laptop bookmarks and when I linked my secondary, the stupid sync feature overrode all the bookmarks I had on the secondary! WHYYYYYY??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ~>:(

Question
I installed Firefox (10) sync on my laptop instead of my desktop. How do I uninstall, so I may install on my main computer? In tools the only sync option is "sync now."It won't let me install it on the other computer as a new account, saying that my address is already in use (on the small one) -- that is the crux of the problem.
When I try to set it up as a not-new account (clicking that I already have an account), there are different problems.
Am I right in assuming it needs to be installed on the main computer first (so that the smaller one doesn't wipe out the (more extensive) stuff on the main computer as they sync? I would love to be able to uninstall it on the small one, and start from the beginning on the big one. -
How can i sync podcasts from iphone to itunes?
Here's my situation:
I have an iPhone 5c that I have always synced with iTunes on a laptop that belonged to my workplace. But I have left that job now, and with it, I have left the laptop. I now want to sync that same iPhone 5c on my iMac at home. This iMac has an iTunes that has NO podcasts on it ...
But when I prepare to sync the phone in iTunes and I click the podcasts tab and check the "Sync Podcasts" checkbox, it asks if I want to delete all the podcasts on the iPhone. I definitely *don't* want to do this ... I want those podcasts on the iPhone to be part of my backup on the computer. Many of these podcasts are older and no longer available for download from their original sources.
Is there any way that I can achieve this? It's not like I paid for any of these podcasts -- it's all free content, so I'm not breaking any copyright issues here.

Won't sync podcasts in Vista, but will sync music
Vista x64 build 5744. Itunes 7.0.1
Everytime I sync the ipod and go into the podcast section of the ipod via itunes and set it to sync podcasts and hit apply I get the following error:
The ipod "archer75's iPod" cannot be updated. An unknown error occurred (-50).
Any ideas on how to fix this? I mainly use my ipod for listening to podcasts.Thank you for your response. Yes, it very well could've been iTunes 9.
Okay, I got the first part of your workaround. I unchecked the "Automatically include" checkbox in the Podcasts tab.
However I don't see where "Include Episodes from Playlists" option is. I've checked my playlist I want to sync in the Music tab under Playlists, but I obviously need to do something else because it's still not syncing. Where do I find that? -
I was pressganged into installing sync by the FFox website, when I was using my laptop. After reading about what sync does, it seemed obvious that I should have installed it on my main computer, my desktop, so that the desktop's setting would be synced onto the laptop. Hence my question.
Not a problem with FFox, rather than one of my own creation. How do I fix it?
The data fields below 'This happened...' etc don't apply, regardless of what I had to put into them to advance the process.I think its the best solution to write tags and all in photographs.... and get them back on import...

IPod will no longer sync podcasts from iTunes store
Both our iPod and iPod Nano will no longer sync podcasts. We have downloaded new music, which will sync, but not the new podcasts from the iTunes store. iTunes indicates that it is syncing (which takes about 1 second) but the podcasts are not synced.
We have deleted all the existing podcasts and downloaded a single new one, with no change in the problem. We have tried both iPods and the result is the same.
We are running ESET NOD32 version 3.0 for Anti-Virus. We have checked with ESET and performed the exceptions that are known to cause problems with iTunes, and there has been no change, except that iTunes no longer freezes, which it previously did.
Hopefully someone out there can help us.easiest way i have found to resolve the issue is go into itunes while phone is plugged in. you will have a list of tabs across, summery, info, ringtones, music. select music and where it displays sync music unselect that and hit apply in the bottom right (dont worry your music should be saved on the computer) once the sync is complete re check the music sync option. ive noticed this to work 95% of the time......hope this helps

No. Time Machine won't get your boot camp partition back. There are excellent utilities that move entire hard drive contents among hard drives such as SuperDuper! and CCC, but as far as I know they don't work with boot camp partition. My suggestion: reinstall Mac OSX on your new Mac (you don't want to hold Option key to start it everytime anyway), partition it with boot camp exactly (or similarly) as you did to your previous Mac (install the same operating system, which should be one of the Microsoft Windows I assume). Use Migration Assistant as kaz-k suggested to move all the stuff on the Mac partition of your previous Mac. Reboot both your Macs from the boot camp partition - I assume they are all on Windows platform. Now you have two computers on Windows platform. Use Norton Ghost or similar tools to migrate all the stuff from your old machine to your new machine. Hope this helps. Backup all your data before such operation. Good luck.

If I changed my Apple ID password on my iphone then log into itunes on my phone with that new password, would it automatically sync to my laptop or would i need to put the new password into my laptop also? My laptop got stolen so I changed my password and wanted to be sure it's safe to enter in the new one on my phone. I don't want it to snyc to my laptop.

Entering your new password on your iPhone will not affect the laptop, as mentioned in this article:

I download apps directly to my iphone. When I sync with my laptop, how do I avoid having sync delete apps, photos/vdeos, songs downloaded on my iphone?
If you are syncing to the same computer that you always sync to, and have each of the items in itunes that you want synced then you shouldnt have an issue. The only way you would have an app come off your phone is if you uncheck that app from syncing in th apps location in itunes.

I have two libraries on separate computers. If i turned itunes match on in both computers would the two libraries merge? So if my iphone normally syncs with my laptop would i still only get the iphones library or would i get both as one?
Yes, the two libraries should merge. However, you need to turn on match on one computer and let it finish before adding the second library.
Once you turn march on n your phone then you don't sync it with iTunes, but the merged library will show up on the phone. If you don't turn on match on your phone and continue to sync then all of the music from both libraries should be available to sync to it.
The only bit I can't confirm is what happens if you try to sync music to the phone which isnt actually downloaded into iTunes. Im not in a position to test that, but maybe someone else can help. -
How can I STOP iTunes from automatically trying to add podcasts to my iPod when I plug it in and sync it, so I can manage the files? I have already unchecked "Sync Podcasts" and "Automatically include,"yet EVERY time I sync it,it still transfers podcasts as the last step, and at other times randomly, when trying to just add some MP3's to a playlist, for example. I can't seem to find any other option to uncheck, and can't find an answer from my so-far internet searching.
erict, you blew me away with that suggestion! It was something so simple I couldnt believe I hadnt thought of it! But in the end it didn't work, which I was really surprised about. On Windows anytime anything was moved itunes was hoplessly lost, but on this mac it still kept up with everything. I tried renaming folders, moving folders, and even renaming moved folders but it still kept trying to import.
I even went as far as deleting EVERYTHING i had moved to the Mac, which didnt really work. It still kept trying to import what wasnt there which made it continue to freeze up. However, after doing this it, the freezing was not nearly as bad. It gave me enough of a break to cancel it through the itunes dialog box at the top of the app. So in the end, thats all I really needed to do, only before I had deleted everything the freezing would not allow me to do it.
So now Im reimporting everything again, only slowly, and only a few Artists at a time. -
Sync podcasts with iPod touch 4gen
my iPod touch 4gen will no longer sync podcasts without the podcast app. app store says it requires iOS7 to get podcast app. iPod update says it has the latest iOS, 6.1.6. i have tried to manually update, keeps saying i have the latest. any suggestions? a workaround the still get new podcasts? thanks!
You should be able to download the app by:
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists. -
Classic will no longer sync podcasts with video. I get sound only

I was haveing a great time with my ipod. Watching podcasts of all sorts. Then it stopped syncing podcasts (music is fine). I got error messages sometimes saying cannot sync as disc cannot be found.
Then out of the blue it sunk some podcasts but with sound only. The downloaded podcasts show in podcast library and also I have copied them to a playlist I made myself called 'podcasts'. I did this once before but it disappeared. I am not desperate to save any of these current pods so dont mind dumping the lot ~(not music) and starting again if necessary.
Please help, this is driving me nuts. No really techi advice please. Simple English would be great.
