I purchased music off of iTunes and it transferred to my PC, but now it won't sync to my iPod nano 5th generation. I know I have iTunes version 11.2.2, the latest version.

Thank you for your reply. It was a game I purchased that is suppose to be compatible with IPOD 5G however it downloaded from the ITUNES store in the "Apps" of ITUNES, but shows that it is a game with the extension.ipa. There is no game tab in ITUNES. How do I get the game tab back in order to sync with my IPOD 5G

i have a ipod nano 5th generation. use to work fine now will not sync. have done the 5rs several times all that got me was no songs on my ipod at all. have latest version of itunes. when run diognostics test on itunes pass all but says no ipod touch found. whay is it saying no touch when its a nano? Although you used the new USB 3.0 port, the actual connection speed is still USB2.0, as the iPod Dock connector, does not have the 10 times faster USB3.0 signal pins, the connection speed is still 480Mbits/s
I assumed that you have tried the other USB 2.0 port to no success..
Can you do the iPod Disk diagnostic as posted earlier by tt2, it wont fix your problem, but helps in troubleshooting.

What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting this issue? Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your PC? Have you tried a different USB cable?
What happens if you try to reset the device with it still connected to the PC?
How to reset iPod
Has this iPod ever worked on this PC or is this the first time you have time you have tried connecting it?
Have you carefully worked through each and every single suggestion in this Apple support document?

I use an iPod nano 5th generation. I have had it for 2 years now and then after about a year when I plugged in my iPod to my computer, the iPod is read but the tab where I would always go that showed my list of artists to sync to my iPod does not show up

I use an iPod nano 5th generation. I have had it for about two years now and after about one year, I plugged in my iPod into my computer to sync more music. Here is the problem: The tab where you go to sync music to your iPod and shows the list of artists and songs you want to sync to the iPod, the tab I can get to but the list of songs and artists does not show up and the only way I can sync music to my iPod is to basically wipe my iPod and start from scratch. Obviously, I do not want to do that because I do not have all the songs in my library that I have on my iPod. I have uninstalled iTunes and then re-installed it, but it did not work and I do not know what else to do. I would really appreciate helpful guidance to get it fixed if it can be fixed. Transferring songs from ITunes to IPod Nano

I have IPod Nano 5th Generation, and the latest IMac operating system.
Had no problems until today, because yesterday I downloaded the brand new ITunes 11.0 (163). Trying to transfer songs from ITunes to my IPod Nano. Not sure if I should submit this question in the ITunes section or the IPod Nano section, so did both.
ITunes used to - until today - show my device (IPod Nano and its playlists) on the left side column of ITunes, above the ITunes playlists. So I could just click on a ITunes song on one of the ITunes playlists and drag that song into one of the IPod Nano playlists above it. Now with this new version of ITunes nothing shows up on the left side, so I have no way of dragging songs from ITunes to IPod Nano. An IPod Nano icon does appear on my desktop, but clicking on it or its contents does not show any IPod Nano playlists. I could click on the IPod Nano icon on my desktop and then click on "all files" on top. There is an area that shows all the IPod Nano songs (I think), but it does not show the IPod Nano playlists.
1) How do I get the IPod Nano playlists to show?
2) Please advise how to transfer songs from ITunes to IPod Nano playlists when using this new ITunes 11.0.
3) If this cannot be done, is there a way for me to go back and reinstall the previous version of ITunes?

I don't think the late/great Steve Jobs had this "new and improved" version of ITunes to be so darn frustrating. It used to be relatively simple to put songs into a playlist or to import purchased songs from ITunes into an Apple device such as the IPOD Nano. "Simple" used to be the selling point of Apple products. What happened? With this new version, I feel like I've got to contact Apple Support to do simple tasks. It seems like I'm not the only person having this problem.

What you do is this; the next time your ipod is jacked to the USB port on you computer and it shows under "Devices" in your Itunes library. click on that folder (your ipod) and it will have eight folders above the Ipod's state.
That was step one; step two is once you see this bar above the ipod's state in the Ipod's folder under "devices" scroll down the horizontal bar until you see audiobooks
Itune's is very user friendly and will give you the option to pick and choose or pick all. to get the audio books off your ipod pick and choose the audio books you want on you're ipod

Any way to get songs on my iPod Nano 5th generation into my iTunes library? Sync doesn't work.
Lost a lot of my iTunes library recently due to a sync mistake. (I know, I'm an idiot.) Much/most of the same music is still on my iPod Nano. But something tells me Apple doesn't want me to get it back into my library so I have to buy it all over again...? Would a tech at Apple store be able to do something for me?

To get music off your iPod nano, you can transfer anything that was purchased from the iTunes Store. You can also just download any purchased songs from the iTunes Store as well without having to sync. Take a look at the article below for steps on how to do either option.

On my computer (iMac) while in iTunes it is showing that the music is indeed on my iPod, but when i eject the iPod there is nothing there.

I have a 27" iMac with the latest version of iTunes. I tried restoring my iPod and even removing and re-installing iTunes. Have done all trouble shooting tech a through Apples and still have not resolved issues on Windows and itunes not detecting my Ipod nano 5th generation device. Tried restoring the device manually using disk mode and still not being detected by the computer. Device is our of warenty as when service repair charges are $125.00 dolars more than I paid for this device. There must be some way to restore the entire device to factor settings without having to be connected to itunes and Windows. I wish I could connect but again device is not being read. I have another Ipod that is 8GB instaed of 16GB and it works fine. The sad thing about this situation is that my 9year old daughter worked hard doing delivering fliers for a long time to save her money to buy this 16 GB 5th generation Nano. Otherwise the Ipod works well but will not syncronize songs as it is not being detected. Maybe this is a result of corrupt files that got onto my daughters Ipod somehow and thus causing it not the be detwected through the USB connection thus as a result not be understoud as a working device through Windows and itunes. If anyone can help me out there including itune techs that would be well appreciated, but for now my daughter is not able to add new or delete any songs on her ipod as well pictures, and everything. Try changing the cord. I could NOT get my computer to recognize my iPod 5th Gen until I read somewhere that different apple devices use different cords. I was inadvertently using my iPad cord and that caused my computer to not recognize my ipod.
