Syncing shared music to ipod

How do I sync my shared music to the ipod, or how do I transfer my shared files to my music? I have some shared files which are in itunes, but I can't get them to sync. Can you help me out? Thanks.
-Erik-

You can do it by being hooked up to the shared source and entering the itunes id and password of the person that you are sharing with. This authorizes you computer to play music. You then must hook up your ipod to your computer while you are hooked up to source. Only problem with this is that a person can authorize their music for 5 computers. I have done it and it works. Now I need to figure our what happens if we get new computers and exceed limit.

How do i sync all music with ipod on new computer

Connect the iPod and sync with iTunes the same way that you sync any iDevice with iTunes. If you are trying to transfer the music on the iPod into iTunes on the computer - connect the iPod to your computer and launch iTunes. Right click on the iPod name under the devices headings and select transfer purchases. That will transfer the purchase songs on your iPod into your iTunes library.
If you provide a few more details of what you actually are trying to do, it would be a little easier to provide you with the help that you seek.

  • Sync shared file to ipod!!?

No matter what I do I cant seem to sync my shared music file onto my ipod. i can view the file in itunes. im not too technical... can anyone advise me what i am supposed to do...!!!??? the ipod syncs every time it is connected but will only sync the 15tunes i have on itunes...

You cannot sync a shared library since it is not your music.

    Hello there,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
There are several ways you can pull the music off your iPod and onto iTunes. The first link after the Apple support document below provides step-by-step instructions for the direct method if you have a PC as well as a few third party applications (for both the Mac and PC) if you choose to go that route instead. You can also do a simple google search for "copy music from iPod to computer" and you should receive a number of sites that can help you out.
Just make sure that when you have your iPod plugged into your computer, that you don't hit "Erase and Sync" before completing the task of copying your music over.
Also, if you have any purchased music, you will probably have to re-authorize your computer by heading to the Store drop down menu and choosing "Authorize computer."

You can only sync with one computer/iTunes library. To make the new computer the syncing computer:

  • Why can't i sync my music from ipod to my second computer?

I loaded all my cd's onto my MacBook iTunes library and then synched with my ipod. now i want to transfer that music from my iPod to my iMac. I deauthorized all the other computers and authorized the iMac but it will only upload the songs purchased on iTunes. What must I do to get my music onto the IMaC??

There are third-party programs like those discussed here that can transfer non-iTunes purchased music to a computer.

  • Sharing music between iPods with different iTunes accounts

My wife bought a 2nd gen (?) 4G nano, plugged it into our home computer and synced it to my daughter's iTunes account. However, she wants to create her own iTunes account ... she doesn't care for all of my daughter's music, and she wants to download/listen to songs on her own iPod that might not be appropriate for my pre-teen daughter. However, she would like to keep some of the songs that are in my daughters iTunes account. Is this possible?

  • Syncing new music into ipod touch

Imported CD into Itunes. Want to only sync certain songs from list. Everything they told me to do, I tried. I can't sync anything. I do have some songs on Ipod but I don't know how it got there previously unless it downloaded when I first set up Ipod.

    Hello Jdfcardinals1,
If the music you lost is no longer on your iPod or in your iTunes library, then I'm afraid you are out of luck.  If the music was from ripped CDs, you'll need to re-rip them into iTunes.  If they were in iTunes, you may not be able to get them back without repurchasing each track.
    Sorry.

  • Sharing Music between iPods/iPhones?

    Good Afternoon!
So, here's the deal. My wife has an iPhone and my daughter has an iPod touch. They each have seperate Apple IDs. My daughter has purchased "tons" of music that my wife wants to have available on her iPhone, if possible.
Is there any way that my wife's apple ID and iPhone can add my daughter's music? They use the same Windows 7 computer for iTunes under different user names.
I do have a network shared drive that can be used but right now, all of the iTunes libraries are local on the laptop.
    Thanks!

  • ITunes just del-synced all music on IPod :(

Due to the fact that I use another program to put music on my Ipod (Anapod Explorer) I am not using Itunes to manage my mp3 collection on the Ipod. However, I think Itunes is very suitable to manage my pod/vodcasts. I just synced my movies and podcasts > and Itunes just deleted all music while the checkbox for "Synchronise music" was (and still is) unchecked.. Sigh... All my music is gone... Thanks Itunes..

Can you still play the Music which is not sync?
it could be that you put it in another folder so itunes can't find it an because of this can't sync it.

  • I can't sync all music to ipod classic. shows fault -69 or sometimes -50

I seem to have problem with my ipod classic. It started when i ejected from itunes when it was still syncing and all the files on ipod vanished. After that I couldn't sync at all & couldn't restore. I've updated the Itunes and restored the ipod so it works but it doesn't sync all the music, neither whole playlist it just picks some tracks.
The communications shows it cannot find some files with error -69 or -50 does anyone know what this could mean??? after that it stops syncing.
P.S. I've not moved the music anywhere and the itunes plays everything, what can i do?
Thank you in advamce for help.
    Joanna

Error -50 is a connection timeout, when iTunes is trying to transfer huge number of songs to your iPod, see this support link.
It maybe cause by your Antivirus. So if you want to sync safely, disconnect your PC from the Internet, Stop your Antivirus
I would suggest that you split your songs into several playlist of 1000 songs, and sync 1 playlist at a time.
if that doesn't help, then check out this link.

  • I own a MacBook Pro laptop, an iPhone5 and an iPad mini with an itunes/apple account.  I just added an iphone5 for my wife. What is the best way to sync shared music, ical, etc.?

  • Sharing music between ipod, iphone, and samsung touch screen cp

i have an ipod and an iphone.  how do i share music between the two with a samsung touch screen cp
it shows up in the library but will not share with either iphone or ipod

    - For this:
Thank you very much!  I just need to be sure my texts from my work iPhone don't show up on the iPod. I can turn off the iMessage app
Go to Settings>Messages>Send and receive and make sure you emaill address and phone number do not appear. Delete them if necessary. You can then add her own email address so you can message her.
    - The iPod will only use a phone number for Messages if the Account used to set up the iPod includes an iPhone and the iPod has iOS 6. You can't add non-iPhone number to Messages on an iPod.

  • Sharing music between ipods

My daughter asked me if she could put some of the songs from her itunes library - some purchased on itunes, some from cd - on her friend's ipod...we connected friend's ipod to our imac...it mounted and was visible, but we couldn't drag any songs onto it...our ipod is not synced to automatically transfer songs, we manage that manually...not sure how friend's ipod is set up...any way to do this? thanks for any help.

I don't think you will be able to put DRM'd songs from the iTunes Store on the friend's iPod, because the friend's computer (to which that iPod is synced) is not one of the (up to) five authorized computers for your iTunes account.
If the friend's iPod is formatted for Windows, it may not work. This Apple FAQ says using a Windows-formatted iPod on a Mac is not officially supported.
