Syncing stickies on OSX with notes on IOS

I know that currently there is no way for users to sync their ideas, lists, and other information from "stickes" to "notes" and vice versa.  However, I have to find a discussion that asks why.  I understand that the use of stickies on an iOS device is not feasible but the ability to link both apps togethre so that they sync seems simple enough considering the advances Apple has made.
There are so many discussions and people searching for the answer yet Apple has not addressed this issue with a solution.  It seems that most users love the "stickies" app, myself included, on their desktop and laptop macs.  It is also clear that users with an iOS device utilize the "notes" app as well.  Wouldn't it make sense to have the option to sync the two together?
Some may argue that while you are out and about, using your iOS device, you may rack up multiple notes that, if they were synced to stickies, would clutter your desktop when you open your computer running OSX.  That actually makes perfect sense, maybe not all of the notes should be displayed on the desktop upon login.  But then at the very least, give us a "notes" app in OSX so that we may share the notes taken while away from our home computers.  Yes, you can view these notes in the Mail app.  But you cannot edit them making them rather useless in that app.
Considering Apple usually caters to their users pretty well and offers a tremendous amount of support and usability for varying needs, I'm just surprised to see that so many people have mentioned this and asked for a solution yet Apple has ignored it.  Even an explanation as to why it hasn't happened would suffice.
In a world where information is at our fingertips and Apple is the one who puts it there the best, I'm shocked they haven't helped us here.
Maybe if enough of us comment on this and beg Apple to link these two great apps or, at the very least, give us a "Notes" app on OSX they'll listen.  I know there are many third party apps that can be downloaded to achieve this but I, like many other users, want an Apple created app.  With that being said, please refrain from offering such solutions and pointing us in the direction of downloading such apps.  Not that I do not appreciate any assistance from fellow users; I'm just looking to spark some discussion on this particular solution and hopefully grab the attention of Apple's app developers.

This has been a common problem for me and many of my counterparts at work for many years now. I can select the calendar items in iOS and slide the slider on All-day, this fixes the problem for a few days. But, as soon as I make any calendar changes in Outlook it goes back to each All-day event covering the entire day in iOS instead of a banner on top.

    i hate how i have to write notes in both places.

    Either that or they don't care. It's been glaring right in front of us for 16 months and you can't even use the built in Apple apps from the iPhone to work with Apple apps on your desktop. Try writing a note on your iPhone, it won't work, you get to compose an email instead. Huh??
    Yes put it in the suggestion box. Just like everyone who has done so since day one.

  • Keyboard Shortcuts do not sync anymore (iCloud, OSX 10.9.5 & iOS 8)

    Hey everyone,
    since I updated my iPhone 5 and iPad (3. Gen.) to iOS 8 all my keyboard shortcuts are gone and don't sync anymore between the devices.
    On my MacBook Pro (OSX 10.9.5) the keyboard shortcuts are still there. (Probably because Yosemite isn't out yet)
    Until I updated to iOS 8 everything worked just fine.
    I tried to figure out what the settings have to be and I found that article including a video:
    http://9to5mac.com/2014/01/04/how-to-create-and-sync-keyboard-shortcuts-between- ios-7-and-mavericks/
    iCloud is activated on every device
    Documents and Date is enabled
    Don't know why apple would have switched off that pretty need feature...
    Any idea, what I could do?
    Thanks in advance.

    I was having the same "coming & going" problem with keyboard shortcuts after updating my iPhone 5S and iPad Air to iOS 8. I tried everything in this and other threads including restoring the devices. The only thing that worked for me was upgrading to iCloud Drive on my iOS devices. After doing so, my shortcuts are back and work perfectly.
    You are one of the lucky ones!
    My keyboard shortcuts were disappearing and reappearing, daily or hourly, about 50% reliable since iOS 8 update. Then did the 8.0.2 update and enabled iCloud Drive.
    Since then, nothing. no shortcuts working at all on iPad Air. They show up in Settings.. General.. Keyboard.. Shortcuts.. but they do not work at all. Rebooted every day, three days now, no joy. Keyboard Shortcut function on my iPad Air is broken.

  • ICloud Safari History not syncing across my devices with Yosemite and iOS 8

    I have a MacBook Pro with the latest update of Yosemite installed, an iPad 2 with iOS 8.1.1, an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.1.1 and other things seem to be syncing like my bookmarks, reading list, and all other iCloud data as well as iMessages and text messages. But the one thing that does not seem to be syncing is my browsing history in Safari. This is supposed to be a new feature of Yosemite and iOS 8 and it is working for a friend of mine but not me.
    How can I fix this? I've tried going into iCloud settings on all three devices and turning off Safari sync and then turning it back on but no luck.

    I spoke with Apple support again this weekend. The first support specialist told me that Safari browsing history was not a feature at this time. When I sent a screenshot of the notes of what updated in Safari 8.0.2 on December 11, 2014 from the AppStore, I got transferred to a senior support specialist. They had me try things like log out of icloud and then reset my network settings on my devices. But that unfortunately did not work. My next step which I did not have time to do, is to see if it is my iCloud account by creating a new iCloud account, logging out of iCloud and then resetting my network settings and then logging into iCloud with the new iCloud account and see if Safari history syncs.
    I'm not sure what they will do for me if it is my iCloud account because I have so much on that account and have email addresses that I don't want to lose. And if it isn't the iCloud account they said it is probably my devices but I am not sure what they will have me do to try to fix it if it is. Set them up as new? I don't really want to do that, it takes forever to get everything back on the device.

  • Sync speed in Pages with Yosemite and iOS 8

    Is anyone else finding the use of Pages in iOS 8 frustrating becaus of the slow — really SLOW — speed at whch documents are syncing between devices using iOS 8 and those using Yosemite. Yeeesh! I about read to go back to Mavericks and iOS 7! I have an iMac, a Macbook Pro, an iPad Air, and a iPhone 5. I have to wait 5 - 15 minutes many times to be able to create a new document or to retreive a document and use it.
    Is there a way to fix this issue?

    Thank you for responding to my issue.  I spent the better part of two hours trying to get this to work.  Bluetooth is enabled on all devices. Each computer is set in Preferences/General to allow Handoff.  All computers and iPhones are on the same WiFi network.  I toggled all of the major settings off and on.  Rebooted each of my computers several times. I finally conceded defeat.  Then my daughter asked to have a try at it.  She worked on the first MBP for about thirty minutes and informed me that she had gotten continuity to work.  And indeed, on her MBP late 2012 she is able to use the continuity features in both directions between her computer and her iPhone 6.  But it only works with Mail and Safari.  I asked how she accomplished this feat.  She said she turned off "everything" on her computer and iPhone (WiFi, Bluetooth, "Allow handoff" under Preferences/General) and then rebooted both the iPhone and the computer.  She then turned everything back on.  This worked for her.  So we tried the same thing on my MBP and iPhone 6.  Now continuity works partially. Email activity is mirrored on both the MBP and the iPhone regardless of which device initiates the continuity activity.  But Safari activity on the computer is mirrored on the iPhone but not in the opposite direction.  There is no continuity function for Pages in either direction.  The telephone connectivity works fine on all of my devices– 3 MBPs, Mac Pro, iPad Air, 2nd gen iPad and 3rd gen iPad.

  • Siebel Sync with Notes 8

    Hi there,
    We work with Siebel 7.8.2.3 and synchronise calender and contacts with Notes 6.5 via Siebel Client Sync. As Notes 6.5 is running out of support by April 09 we want to upgrade to Notes 8. Problem is, that Notes 8 version is not supported for Siebel Client Sync and after a test installation we found out that it is not working.
    Has anyone of you an idea how we could enable Siebel Client Sync for Notes 8 or any other solution to sync calendar and contacts with Notes?
    Many thanks,
    Chris

    You're welcome

    You can't go to icloud.com using Safari on your iPad, you have to go there using your computer.  If you didn't do so, try going to icloud.com and check your notes using your computer browser.

  • OSX Calendar NOT Syncing with iCloud BUT iOS Devices DO

    So to set the scene....
    I have an early 2009 iMac running Mountain Lion.
    I have 2 x iPhone 4's running iOS 5.1.1.
    I have 1 x iPad (1st Gen) running iOS 5.1.1
    I use to keep mail, contacts and calendar in sync between all the devices using MS Exchange. I recently switched this to iCloud.
    All the Calendars I have are all iCloud (so NO local calendars).
    Mail syncs without any issue.
    Contact syncs without any issue.
    Calendar syncs have an issue with iMac syncing to iCloud.
    To be clear...the following Calendar syncs DO work:
    iPhone #1 --> iCloud
    iPhone #2 --> iCloud
    iPad --> iCloud
    iCloud --> iPhone #1
    iCloud --> iPhone #2
    iCloud --> iPad
    iCloud --> iMac
    Whereas the following Calendar sync DOESN'T work:
    iMac-->iCloud
    What's even stranger is that if I...
    Switch off Calendar & Reminder syncing on my iMac (System Preferences)
    Close calendar
    Wait 5 minutes
    Switch back on Calendar & Reminder syncing on my iMac (System Preferences)
    Open calendar
    ...then the iMac-->iCloud syncing WILL work for a few hours. After a few hours it will stop syncing.
    Thanks for reading. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I might solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ben

    Since this post has had no replies, thought I'd comment to see if anyone can answer the above question.  I have the same problem with one exception.  The part that is not syncing is from iCloud to my iMac.  All other sync paths work between my iphone, ipad, and iMac.  If anyone has a fix for this, please share.

    well i have to be honest, but i don't know if it the vista you use has any significance for this. but you can try.
    okay follow:
    1: click "start" on the status line on the buttom of your screen.
    2: then click on "all Programs" and find "Accessories" and find the "command prompt"
    3: Right click with your mouse "command prompt" and click on "run as administrator"
    (as you has click'd on "run as administrator", "command prompt" should appear.)
    4: when it appears you need to type this "netsh windsock reset"
    5: wait for your computer to registrer the command you gave it, and restart your computer.
    then erverything should be pretty much as good or better then new.

    Itunes 11.1.5 (MacBook Pro,OS 10.6.8) will not sync new apps with iPhone 5 iOS 7.0.6 and gives grayed out "install" no message?  How does one work around this?

    Just reboot your laptop... While its rebooting try to reboot your phone also by holding the home and power buttonn for 10-15 seconds...When your phone is turned off try to connect it to iTunes and it will recognize your phone in recovery mode.
    If you have the .ipsw file for iOS 7.0.6 saved in your desktop then in itunes press shift and click on Restore.
    Select the ipsw file and let it restore.
    If you dont have it downloaded then simply click on restore.
    I hope it works
    Cheers !

    Maybe you should get new friends.
    I'm not sure that recovery mode works when you have to trust the computer, but did you try it?
    If you can't update or restore your iOS device - Apple Support
    If that won't work, perhaps you can use Find my iPhone from a computer in your iCloud.com account to erase the device.

    This has nothing to do with the Find my iPhone app being installed on the phone, but you do have to have Find my iPhone activated in the iCloud settings on the phone.

  • How do I make Mac mail and iOS Mail sync to each other with a google apps (not traditional gmail) mail account?

    I have a google apps mail account in the form [email protected] I have successfully set up both my mac (A1342) Mail and my iPhone (5c) mail so I get my account on both devices. However, when I read an email on my iphone, it remains unread on my mac (and vice versa). But if I read an email on either, the copy in my Gmail inbox on the web is correctly changed to read. How do I set up my mac Mail and iOS mail so they interact with eachother?
    I am running OSX 10.9 and iOS 7.

    Set the account (on the Mac) as an Imap account, it seems as though it is currently set as POP.
