Syncing stuck on mail accounts

Suddenly - all worked great before - my syncing has stuck on mail accounts. I tried "replace information" for the mail accounts and I restored the software (installed 1.1.1) but the problem started in 1.0.2.
What now?
thanks,
Don

I'm having a similar problem. It takes hours for my new iPhone to sync. But when I removed mail accounts from my sync profile, it only took minutes. My question is this: is it necessary to sync my mail accounts each time I sync my iPhone? I don't quite understand what syncing does for my mail accounts.

  • Sync stuck at syncing "calendars" and "mail accounts..." How can I get past it?

It just started happening like two days ago when I updated to 6.1.3. I could've sworn that I already had it, but something updated a few days ago... Anyways, I unchecked "Calendars" and it got stuck and "mail accounts," so I guess it's something to do w/ Outlook or my Google Accounts. I don't know. Help??

I did not put the OS info in my question because I am not sure what I have. I upgraded to Lion so that I could use the cloud between my devices, however I do not know the number.
Apple menu item->About this Mac and the version is listed there. Click on that and get the build number. Click again and get the machine's serial number.
I am stuck on the white screen. Any other advice?
Start with a google search for white screen mac. This one might do the trick: http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/apple-desktops/138137-imac-wont-get-passed-whit e-screen.html

  • HT4898 How can I continue sync my various Mail Accounts when I move to iCloud?

How can I continue sync my various Mail Accounts when I move to iCloud?

I wasn't aware that you could sync other mail accounts with MobileMe, other than their settings. If you are referring to settings, then they should already be set up on your mobile device, any new accounts would need to be added manually.
POP accounts will continue to receive and send e-mail but will not sync (so for example if you delete an e-mail on one device it won't be deleted on the other), IMAP/exchange accounts will continue to function as they always have.

  • Any way to sync my 10  MAIL accounts across macs and on iDevices? Thanks in advance for you help

    Dear friends,
over 21 years of fumbling with mac (PowerMac 7100/66) I have rarely bothered to get tips but I cannot seem to find, though I cannot believe this, a way to sync MAIL ACCOUNTS (and the keychain too ... but that is secondary) across Macs and iDevices.
As I piled up email accounts I am in a position, am sure not entirely unknown to some of you fellow Macusers, to have about 15 email accounts that more or less frequently I need to monitor. As things stand, with the killing of the otherwise pretty bland MobileMe, I am forced to enter those account for every new user or hard-drive or iDevice I have while.
I think that is ridiculously cumbersome and am convinced that there must be a third-party or a mean to have the mail accounts synced across different Macs, partitions and/or iDevices using Lion and iCloud.
Can any kind soul spare a valid tip to save me from the boredom of serial e-mail settings?
Thank you very much in advance for the help you will provide.
    Sincerely,
    FrankieC

"Did you make the .psd file with a transparent background (checkerboard) in Photoshop? And when you placed it in AI did you choose the top option Convert Photoshop Layers to Objects?"
Yep, and it still didn't work.
But I figured what I did wrong: I was selecting both the text and the heart, and then I was doing the whole Object>Wrap Text>Make thing, as opposed to just selecting the heart and doing it. Once I did it, I moved the heart around on top of the text, and it "made room" for the pic, wrapping itself around the heart.
Thanks so much, and thanks A MILLION for being so patient.

  • Syncing OS X Mail Accounts with iCloud

    Hi folks!
I am thinking about finally updating my OS X to Mountain Lion... sad fact is I am still on Snow Leopard.  Well it's not sad... I have not felt the need to update it, been busy with work and didn't want to rock the boat sorta speak, everything currently is working to my expectations.
I am wondering about iCloud - I currently use iCloud on my iPhone only... not on my Mac (as of course it is Snow Leopard).   I am wondering, can iCloud back up mail accounts like the good ole MobileMe did?  I used to subscribe to MobileMe and one of the features I loved was that I could put all my OS X Mail Account settings into the 'cloud' and restore them at any time.  Is that possible now with iCloud?
Another idea I had... as I am not using iCloud at the moment on my Mac, I use iTunes to sync my mail accounts to my iPhone 4 - do you think it is possible to send those account settings from my iPhone to iCloud, and then back down into my MacBook once I have completed the upgrade to Mountain Lion?  Better than having to setup multiple email address again ;-)
    Cheers!

With Snow Leopard you can access your iCloud email by setting Mail up manually:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard
You may be able to sync your calendars to iCloud by means of an unsupported hack, and there is a convoluted hack which has been reported as working for Address Book (and as not working by others - I've not tried it), but iCloud's other facilities will not work. This page outlines the situation when you migrate to iCloud, including a link to the calendar hack:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudSL.html
If you upgrade your Mac to Mountain Lion you will be able to access iCloud fully and the data which is already on there will sync to your Mac: you will need to be careful about possible duplicates. You should be asked which set of data should be the master.

  • ITunes - iPhone Sync Error with Mail Accounts

Whenever I sync my iPhone with iTunes I get the error message, "iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iPhone 'Henry's iPhone" because an error occurred remapping record identifiers./Try syncing your iPhone again. If the problem persists, replace the mail accounts on the iPhone from the info tab in the iPhone preferences."
If I uncheck the mail accounts sync option in the info tab, the problem goes away, but returns when I recheck the option.
What does this error message mean? More to the point, how, precisely do I remedy the situation?

Easiest to just leave mail account syncing off. FYI, that setting does not sync emails, it only syncs the account settings. If email is working on your phone, there's no need to sync the settings.

  • I can no longer sync my yahoo mail account

Since yesterday my Yahoo account stop syncing. I deleted and added and now it times out

I've had the same problem with yahoo and got this error message
the user name or password for apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com is incorrect
I've entered correct info when creating the account. I've deleted the account on my iPad and iphone. Reentered the proper info but the account will not activate. As well, the password associated with those accounts is CHANGED IN THE ACCOUNT SETTINGS from what I entered previous. It is much shorter.
My husbands account, with Yahoo as well, is fine. any ideas on how to help?

  • Sync a POP Mail account with iCloud

I'm trying to resolve a problem with my wife's email.  She's using OSX 10.7.5 with Mail 5.3.  She has an iCloud account, but most of her email is using a POP account.  Since she also has an iPhone and an iPad, I wanted to get the email on all 3 devices to basically be in sync.  I've had her POP email forwarded to her iCloud account, so her incoming mail is fine.  But when she replies to an email that comes in on her POP account, even though its been forwarded to the iCloud address, Mail uses her POP account address to reply from.  As a result, any sent mail sent this way doesn't get synced to iCloud.
Mail doesn't seem to allow you to specify the reply from account, although you can specify which account to send new messages from.  I can keep these synced by manually uploading the email in her Sent Mail folder for her POP account, but that's a bit of a hassle.  Is there a setting I may be missing, or is there a rule or some folder action that could automate this?  I've been able to create a Smart Folder for any email sent from this POP account, but that doesn't get them uploaded to the Cloud server.  And I haven't been able to create a rule to accomplish this either.  So any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

If you want to set up a separate email account you will have to create a new iCloud account, which means you will have to create a new Apple ID (for which you will need another non-Apple email address). You can then sign into it in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars.
Or you can add up to three 'email aliases' on you existing account - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.

  • Outlook Sync & Multiple E-Mail Accounts

I'm considering buying the new iPhone 3G in the next couple of months, and I had these questions (and I'm posting them here because I'm sure if the current iPhone can handle these issues, the new one will be able to as well):
    1. Most posts I've read state that the iPhone can sync with Microsoft Outlook on Windows XP. Is this a relatively easy sync, or (like most Windows things, it seems), do you need to some magic "work-around" to get it to work? Also, does it sync Calendar events and Contacts easily?
    2. I have both a personal e-mail and a work e-mail that I would like the iPhone to handle, and my work e-mail is processed through a Microsoft Exchange Server. Does the current iPhone support this or will the new one be able to? I haven't been able to find a conclusive answer on this.
Thanks for any help or experience anyone can lend on here!

    1) Its a very simple process that works right out of the box for most people.
    2) The current iPhone supports Exchange via IMAP, so the server would have to have IMAP access enabled. The 3G iPhone will support direct Exchange access via ActiveSync.

  • TS4083 My flagged items are not syncing between my mail accounts

that's about it.  I spend a bunch of time organizing my e-mail into different color flagged by priority and renamed the flagged boxes i.e. Red- hurry orange- this week yellow-this month... on my MacBook it didn't take the name changed or give the messages the appropriate colored flags.

Mail does not have an Address Book, it gets addresses from Address Book, there is no sync. Are you possibly referring to Previous Recipients?

  • Mail won't sync with my .mac account - won't accept password

I have a MacBook running the OS X 10.6.8.  Recently I have found that I cannot sync my Mail with my .mac account.  I can log on through the internet to iCloud and read emails (I know my password is valid), but when I try to get them synced to my Mail account it won't accept the password.  It looks like this may be a conflict with Mail not being updated to iCloud, but I am unsure.  I have not found an update that will update the Mail to link with iCloud.  My computer is also not new enough to update to the new Lion OS.  Am I stuck?  This has been very discouraging and I have been wasting hours of valuable time trying to figure out how to fix this.

Did you turn on iCloud Drive by any chance? If so, then until Yosemite comes out, you won't be able to sync your documents and data to your Mac:

  • Sync says it is working, but Mail account is not imported to iPhone

So I this problem with syncing my basic mail account with my iPhone. It is an IMAP mail server account and it works fine on my Macbook. I have the setting in iTunes showing that the sync should include the one mail account on the Macbook (it is checked off).. When I performa sync, it says that it is syncing and I do no get any error messages.. but once done, the account does not show up on my iPhone.
I have had to add the account manually to iPhone in the meantime. But my mobile me account is not working as I would expect and I think it comes down to the sync not happening correctly in the first place.
Any idea what could be causing this issue with me not syncing properly?

What is the issue with the MobileMe account?
Try the Advanced option on the Info tab which allows you to replace email accounts on the iPhone with email accounts from your MacBook.
If that does not work try Resetting the Sync History from the iSync applications preference window, as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TA23030

  • Why did my mail account suddenly erase all emails and now will not sync with my quickbooks?

I have quickbooks for Mac and it syncs to my mail account with my laptop everytime I email an invoice or an estimate.  The other day I went to send an estimate and it will not allow me to send, receive or see any of my previous emails.  Anybody have a solution?  Also does anyone else think it is ridiculous that Apple does not provide any tech support unless you pay?  I just bought my Mac Book one year ago and have already had to replace my charger ($95) and now they are telling me they can't help me unless I pay $50....Um I find that crazy excessive considering I paid $2400.00 for my computer......
    Anyway, please help!
