Syncing subscribed private Google Cal to iCal in iOS7- won't show up

I have iOS7 on my iPhone 5. I tried syncing my Google calendars to iCal via accounts in settings and my personal email address calendars all showed up ([email protected]). My school email address (accessed through Gmail, ______@____.edu) is subscribed to a private calendar (that shows up under "Other Calendars" in this Gmail's Calendar tab) that shows our classes etc via Google Calendar. This calendar displays on an app I used to use (Pocket Informant Pro.) I can't seem to figure out how to get this on iCal on iOS7. Any help? Anyone else have this problem?

  • Using iCal and trying to sync automatically to google cal

I mostly use iCal to add events and would like those events to appear automatically in google cal without having to backup/import them (which is what I'm doing now). I tried several settings but nothing seems to work. I either end up with duplicated data in my iCal or nothing happens.
Does anybody know how to set up this? I guess it's something simple but I cannot get it right.
    Any help appreaciated.
    Thanks!

    Create main folder e.g. Folder A, then sub-folders inside A e.g. B, C, D and have your Photos in B, C, D.
In iTunes Sync, click your device on the left Pane, then on right pane select "Photo" tab.
Make sure Sync photo box is checked, then select folder A, then All folders box within the selection.
Click Apply or Sync button at the lower right window.
you will have B,C,D folders under Albums.

  • Syncing across iPhone, Google Cal, iCal, and Outlook

My personal computer is a Macbook 13" from 2007, running Leopard version 10.5.8
At work, I use a Dell using XP (for now- upgrading to Windows 7 in a couple weeks) and keep my schedule through Outlook.
I want to sync my Outlook, home iCal, and iPhone's iCal all together, each calendar displaying identical information. I want to be able to update and edit my calendar at work, at home, or on the go.
    How can I accomplish this?
    Thank you,
    Kevin

Hmm, I think the reason it works for me is because I went the other way around. I subscribed to my Google calendar from iCal a long time ago, but not my iPhone. When OS 3.0 came out, the Google calendar in iCal got synced into my iPhone as a subscription automatically.
So, you'll likely need to subscribe to your Google calendar within iCal to have it in iCal, and there are very specific instructions how to do that on Google's Calendar support pages.
Once you do that and sync your iPhone, I'm guessing you might end up with a duplicate because of the subscription you've already created on your iPhone. I'm not sure it'll matter which one you delete, but I mention this possibility because I haven't tested out all the possibilities yet.

  • Syncing Private Google Calendars to iCal

Friend of mine shared a private event calendar with me on Gcal (it is listed under "other calendars" on my google calendar account) and I cannot sync that particular calendar with my iCal.
Im assuming it has something to do with the privacy settings of my friends google calendar and that is why I'm unable to sync but I wanted to see if there was any way I could circumvent the problem.
If anyone had any ideas that might help I'd really appreciate it.

  • Google Cal and iCal

I know you can subscribe to your google calendar with iCal, but since its a subscription you can NOT edit/add items.
I'm going to assume there is no way (yet) to add/edit events in iCal and have it sync with Google cal, but hey, why not ask?
    Thanks,

May I suggest you look at www.spanningsync.com. It is a paying software though, yet it has worked quite well for me. I sync my ical on two macs with google calendar via spanning sync - five calendars in all. That way I can edit/create events on either mac or on the web in gcal, and all three are synced and show the same information.
BTW, am neither the owner or an employee of spanning sync.
    hope this helps

  • Possible to import google cal into iCal?

Is there a way to import data from google calendars into iCal?

Yes, it is possible and you do not need a third party program to do it. You need to "subscribe" to your Google calendar from within iCal. The address that you need to provide to iCal for the subscription to work, is available from the Google calendar page. Click on the downward-facing triangle next to your calendar name on the left of the screen, then click on Calendar Settings. At the bottom of the screen that pops up, click on the ICAL button in the Private Address area. This will give you the private URL of your calendar, which is what you need to use in iCal "subscribe" function.
In iCal, you can specify how often you want to "import" the data from the Google calendar you are subscribed to.
    Regards,
    Rafael

  • How can i sync my android x2 cal with ical (phone's calendar not Google's calendar)?

I have an Android (DX2) phone.  Need calendar entries to synch between phone and macbook pro.  Not Gmail's calendar but rather the phone's own calendar. The phone gives a choice of both calendars and I want to avoid posting to Google's cal.

Assuming you can sync your android calendar over the air with a Gmail account, you can do the same with a Gmail account on an iPad that is created as an Exchange account. The same for syncing Google contacts.

  • Google cal and iCal, weird alert settings!?

    Hi,
I'm using a Google calendar in/through iCal (on Mac OSX Lion - the problem existed under Snow Leopard as well though) and everything works fine except that the Google calendar seems to automatically create two weird and quite annoying alerts for the events as well!? I always have to manually set these alerts to 'none' in order to get rid of them.
This does not happen with normal iCal calendars nor with Exchange calendars.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you very much,
    Jerome

THANK YOU  THANK YOU  THANK YOU!!!
Didn't realize "default" alerts on the Google Calendar side would transfer to iCal as multiple alerts AND an email alert.
Is there a way (maybe from the terminal) to go through one's iCal and programmatically remove all Email alerts from existing events/appointments?  I know I might be pushing my luck here...

  • ICal month view won't show some of my appointments.

    Hello guys!
I've updated do Lion and bought an iPod touch 4g.
Everything is working fine, except for the month view on my Mac Book Pro, some of my appointments won't show up for me. The appear on Day view and Week view.
    Any ideas?

Yes! I created a project from a trailer. I finalized then went and changed some things. After finalizing again the small preview shows the full trailer but the preview and all exported movies are blank for the first 10 seconds or so.  Frustrating!

  • Google Cal Sync w/ iCal?

I can't seem to figure out how to publish my iCal to my Google Calendar. Is this even possible? Has anybody figured this out?

yes you are absolutely right and i left it out of my previous post. kind of jumped over it and assumed you had a .mac account, my bad. so you either have a .mac account and then you can publish, or you may want to look at www.icalx.com where you would be able to open an account for free, and then be able to publish to icalx - which would be the private server option.
also, whether you publish to icalx or with .mac, and then subscribe from google cal, you will just do that subscribe and the calendar will be read only in google cal. i notice the title of your post, which seems to indicate you would like to sync. if that is the case, then you may want to look at http://www.spanningsync.com that will allow you to sync with google cal - i guess syncing and publishing/subscribing are different terms meaning different things.
    hope this helps

  • ICal import to a CalDav calendar created by Calaboration (for Google Cal)

I connected 6 of my calendars from Google Cal to iCal through CalDav with Calaboration. I wanted to take my existing iCal events and push them to the Google Cal calendars.
I tried exporting my existing iCal calendar as an ICS file, then importing it to the newly created Google Cal calendar. It worked for one calendar, and since then has just stuck on "Importing" whenever I try to import other calendars.
The CalDev calendars sync with Google Cal just fine, because I can create events on one end and they'll show up on the other. The problem is with importing. I've tried importing smaller files than the one that worked, and they just won't go.
    Suggestions?

    3.0.5 (1270)
Just to check I wasn't going mad, I just did this:
    Opened GCal in Safari.
Created a new calendar: "Test Calendar"
Started Calaboration. Selected only the new calendar
    Closed iCal when prompted
Opened iCal and after the (rather alarming) 'upgrading calendars' message I had GOOGLE:TEST CALENDAR with Test Calendar listed under it. (This can also be seen as a CalDAV account in preferences.)
Right-clicking on the calendar name, I get "Show CalDAV Queue" as the first item.
Are you using a different version of iCal? If not, perhaps you would be best advised to go into iCal Preferences, to delete the CalDAV account and start again?
Edit: Just noticed you are running the same version, but advice still stands.
