Syncing the delete function

My email account has changed from a POP account to an IMAP account. Now, whenever I delete a message on my iPhone, it is automatically deleted from my Mail program on my desktop. I want to be able to delete messages on my iPhone and have them remain on my desktop. How do I accomplish this?

You can't which is the nature of an IMAP account.
If you are accessing the account as an IMAP account with the Mail application on your Mac as well as with the iPhone's email client and you are storing the account's Trash mailbox on the server with both, when selecting a message for deletion with the iPhone's email client, the message will be moved to the account's Trash mailbox stored on the server which will also be available in the account's Trash mailbox with the Mail application on your Mac automatically.
If you purge the account's Trash mailbox or delete a particular message from the account's Trash mailbox with the Mail application on your Mac or with the iPhone's email client, it will be removed from the server and will no longer be available with either.
This is the nature of an IMAP account and a benefit when accessing the account with an email client on multiple computers or devices - all server stored mailboxes are kept synchronized with the server automatically so when viewing the account's Inbox mailbox with one will be identical when viewing the account's Inbox mailbox on the other. The same for sent messages. Send a message with the iPhone's email client and it will be stored on the server so the message will be available in the account's Sent mailbox automatically with the Mail application on your Mac and vice-versa.
But remove a message from a server stored mailbox and it will no longer be available with either one.

My 2yr old toddler is randomly deleting my pics and videos on my iphone. Yes he knows how to navigate to the pics and videos on his own. I think its that shiny red delete button that catches his eye when he's bopping around form screen to screen. I just want to disable the delete function function so that he doesnt do that anymore. I know there is the backup but that relies on me knowing when and what he deletes as I dont back up all the time.I heard Android has this feature but wasnt sure if the iPhone did. The real way to fix this problem is to obvioulsy not allow a 2 yr old to play with your $600 phone.

Lock the delete function (Trash) for contract documents

I am in need to lock the delete function (Trash) for contract documents after they have been executed. After a user sets the contract document phase at "Executed," they should not be able to click the trash icon and delete that contract document record.

Deleting an iMessage on an iOS device won't sync the deletion on Mac OS

I have scoured through the discussion boards for solutions on how sync message deletions between my iOS devices and Macs via iCloud. So far, no dice. Here's where I'm at now:
I have been able to successfully sync new message creations across all of my iOS and MacOS devices. By that, I mean I can start a new iMessage conversation on any of my Macs or iOS devices and that new message will appear among all of my other iOS and MacOS devices. And it does so almost immediately. Which is great and as advertised.
However, if I then delete that same new message from any of my Macs or iOS devices, it remains on all of my other iOS and MacOS devices. So I'm stymied: although creating a new message puts that message on all connected iCloud devices, deleting that message from any device is only a local phenomenon: to delete any message from all devices, I need to manually go to each device and delete it. Which ***** and is not as I'd remember it being advertised.
So here are my questions for the group:
1) Is syncronized deletions across all devices/computers even possible? The folks on this here board don't seem to think it is.
2) Have you personally been able to sync your deletions across your Macs/iOS devices?
2a) If so, can you point to a link or explanation of how, exactly you set up your devices?
3) What is your Mac OS and iOS version number, so at least we can compare notes? I'm on iOS 7.0.6 on all devices, OSX Mavericks or OSX Mountain Lion on all Macs.

Hi,
The Issue is what you mean by "Sync" and what Apple put into the Apps.
The "Sync" is only "Display on all devices" and not anything else.
It has been this way in the beta (version 6.1 in Lion), Messages 7 and 7.0.1 in Mountain Lion and the version in Mountain Lion (which does include changes at the OS 10.9.2 update but the Messages version has not changed)
At the OS X 10.8.2 (Messages version 7.0.1) we got the current form of iPhone Numbers and Apple ID full linking which did not happen before this.
This means iPhone could get Apple ID iMessages and the Mac could display the iPhone number iMessages.
The Read, Delivered and deleting an iMessages on one device does not cross over on to other devices.
In that respect it is closer to fetching POP mail on server devices compared to IMAP ones
Deleting something on IMAP server will delete it form any login.
Doing so on a POP email will not.

HT1171 I have the apple wireless key board. There is only one delete key and it deletes all data to the left side of the cursor. Where is the delete function for deleting letters that are on the RIGHT side of the cursor?

I have a new wireless apple keyboard. I can only delete items that are to the left of the cursor using the delete key. What key do I use to delete items that are to the right side of the cursor? I have only one delete key.
My old apple wired keyboard has 2 delete keys that enabled me to easly delete data on either side of the cursor.

Is the Delete function a full delete?

Hello ByD community,
I developed a custom Delete action in order to delete my custom BO Backgroundmail.
The delete seems to have work well as no more instance are present in my OWL.
However, when I launch my Query on SalesOrder to populate my custom BO again, it returns two error messages.
One saying this SalesOrderID is already existing and so it cannot create it. I do not understand, because if the delete was completed, it shouldn't be there anymore.
And the second error message I do not get it at all what it means.
If somebody could help me on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

But now I keep having the second error being raised so I cannot save my instances. And so my OWL for this WC remains empty.
This is a really disturbing error. And I do not understand why I get it.
Does it means the Sales Order with ID 41 is missing from the Sales Order BO?
Which is wrong because I can query him from the Sales Order BO and I can see it in the WC.
If someone encountered this one before or knows what it means, it would be perfect!

Recover the deleted Function modules

I have a function group and some functional modules in it. Accdently i have deleted that function group and all the functional modules are also get deleted. Is there any way to recover those function group or the function modules.

Hi,
Function Module can be restored if it is versionsed previously in version management.
Kindly use the below steps,
(1.) Create FM on same name (In which FM is deleted previously).
(2.) Utility->Version->Version Management
(3.) Previous versions are found in "Versions in the version database".
(4.) Check for previous version and retrieve it.

I deleted a Note and want to restore from back up.But if I sync it won't it just sync the deleted note?

How do I restore a deleted note from my backup without syncing? Do i reset my phone so I can get the backedup note? If so, how?

Did you back up recently before you deleted the files? If so, simply recover from iTunes backup files as the solution above. If this didn't work for you, you may try professional data recovery tool to recover them. Actually no matter the data lost has been backed up or not, they are marked as "deleted" by the device's internal database when deleted but still stored in the database. Good luck!

World phone not syncing properly with Exchange on delete function

Hi, we are testing BES right now and currently have about 5 Curves and 1 world phone. The Curves work great, but the world phone will not sync the deleted item with Exchange. In other words, when an email is deleted from the device and it has been told to remove from both the device and server, it is only removed from device. When an email is deleted from Outlook, that message is not removed from the world phone. we don't have this problem with the curves and we've also tried hard resetting the device, and also tried using several different user accounts. the same problem exists every time. any ideas? we are trying to determine whether or not we will switch from treo/goodlink to blackberry and this isn't helping the cause. thanks.

i have validated that this is the case on all workd phones we are running. deleting from outlook doesn't delete from device and vice versa. not an issue with the curve however. what on earth is up with that? that is absolutely horrendous! good thing i didn't put one of these things in the ceo's hands. i'd probably be looking for a new job right now.

I am running Windows XP PRO. Firefox 3.6 islisted in in my computer and I cannot delete it in the control panel using the Add of Delete Function. I have even gon into the safe mode and I still cannot delete it.

I want to intall Mozilla Firefox 4. Will this delete the contents of Firefox 3.6? I was to the point that I was ready to Reboot the Whole system. I called Microsoft and they resolved the Silverstream issue. When in the control panel I click on the delete function all that is does is stay at Blue. It will not delete and it does not give me any message.

The normal method is simply

You should be able to delete Firefox and remove it, from your Windows XP control panel although that may not be what you intend.
If you have doubts about compatibility stay with Firefox3.6 for now.
Some software extensions will currently have problems with firefox 4 (and that iircc may include some versions of silverlight )
Do NOT use any delete settings (or whatever it is worded) that will loose all your passwords and bookmarks.
BTW the safe mode in relation to Firefox is a totally different concept from Windows safe mode, but you probably have no need to use either of them.

On an ordinary upgrade Firefox will preserve your profile details which include bookmarks any passwords.
You should have no problems in installing Firefox 4. You should be able to install firefox 4, and retain any bookmarks etc that were used in firefox 3.6, but sometimes extensions may be incompatible.

Delete functionality

We are not able to detach the file uploaded in an oaf page as the delete functionality is not working

The delete function seems to no longer work in Thunderbird. Both the 'delete' button and in the menu options do not delete messages but change them to unread.
I have tried to fix it by deleting the trash / deleted files as suggested in another thread but it made no difference. The delete key still works to delete things outside of Thunderbird (including here for example).
I have not uninstalled / reinstalled. I have rebooted a couple of times and it hasn't made any difference.
I did go through and delete a huge number of old emails a few days ago, but I have cleared out the Deleted folders and it made no difference.
All suggestions appreciated.

Right click on any of the other right panel headers in Slideshow module to open the context menu. You should be able to reactivate the Options panel from there.

Delete Functionality in manual tabular form

Have you got any response on this? I would like to know how to do it too. I am trying to implement a manual tabular form on a page and need this functionality.
I do know one thing. After attending the ODTUG conference last week, Raj said something about you have to process check boxes and radio groups separately from the rest of the form.

Illogical delete function

Hello Experts,
I have the following versions:
Versions: Actual (1), Plan (2), Backup of Plan (2A).
Years : 2005 , 2006 , 2006
I have a delete function with selection conditions using year and version.
The deletion is based on year variable and version variables for the different versions. Year & version Variable combinations form several selection criterias Variable offets for years are used to derive for years 2005, 2006, 2007. Version variables are derived from user variable input.
The deletion is to delete version 2A only. However, when executed, the deletion deletes version 1 as well.
On 1 other occasion, the deletion worked correctly by only deleting the intended version 2A. Version 1 still intact.
Has anyone encountered such a strange phenomenon?
I checked each step very carefully from variables entered to tracing the execution. The deletion seems illogical to me as the delete function somehow deleted
a version not intended for deletion. The other version variables are blank, not set with any version. So, it should not cause the deletion.
If you understand my problem, I hope you can hint me how such situation can occur.

Hi Pascal,
Try executing the Parameter group for the Planning Function with Trace. It should help drill down to the records being selected by the function, and look into the problem.
