Syncing To dos in iCal to iphone

Is there some way you can get the "to Dos" in iCal to sync with iPhone?

This is not an option at the present time. Maybe sometime in the future, but don't bank on it.

  • SYNCING AN EVENT FROM iCAL to iPHONE

    Sometimes when I enter a NEW EVENT in iCal and then perform a SYNC, it shows up on my iPhone as NEW EVENT. Literally. It doesn't list the details as they are typed in iCal unless I sync again. It literally says NEW EVENT. Sometimes it takes a couple of SYNCS or more to correct itself.
    Thanks for any help!

  • Syncing To Dos on iCal with my iPod

    I checked on my iPod and I found To Dos under calendar--unfortunately it looks like it synced every To Do I've ever had on iCal, even though most of them are completed. Is there any way to remove To Dos after they have been checked as complete?

    Thanks, but I'm not looking to delete them all together as sometimes I need to look at a completed to do. Is there anyway I can just shut of fthe syincing of completed to dos?

  • HT5029 Why on Mavericks do I have to use iCloud to sync my calendars in iCal with iPhone?

    is there any way to sync calendars and contacts between Mac and iPhone other than iCloud?
    before migrating to Mavericks I could sync and keep my calendars and contacts in my Mac only

    Of course you could also use another provider for syncing your data between devices e.g. Google. I personally like iCloud the most, because it works seamless, especially if you are using various iOS devices and Macs.

  • Sync to pull iCal from Mac to iCal on iPhone

    On my Mac, I run Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5, and just started entering events on iCal.
    On my iPhone 4, I just added the iCal app.
    I then followed these instructions for syncing.
    Syncing Your Calendar Via ITunes
    Step 1
    Launch iTunes on your computer and connect your iPhone using its USB cable.
    Step 2
    Select the iPhone from the "Devices" list in iTunes and open the "Info" tab.
    Step 3
    Select "iCal" in the "Sync Calendars With" section and click the "Sync" button. Your iPhone's Calendar syncs with iCal on your Mac.
    My iPhone iCal shows old *Google* calendar entries. How can I change/sync sync, pulling existing Mac *iCal* entries to my iPhone iCal app?
    Tips
    Check the "Sync With This iPhone Over Wi-Fi" box in the iTunes "Summary" tab to allow your iPhone to sync with your Mac whenever it is connected to a power outlet and the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
    Now I see events on my iPhone iCal that were pulled from a Google calendar that I no longer want to use.
    1) How can I change settings/sync to pull the existing iCal events on my Mac and transfer them to my iPhone iCal app?
    2) What is the hierarchy? Meaning, when I sync, is the Mac iCal or iPhone iCal considered to be the "accurate" version? Or, during the sync, will it look for the version with the most recent (new or edited) event, then update the other iCal making both current?
    In advance, thank you for assistance!

    Have him try putting the checkmark back in front of "Sync Photos From" on the Photos page of iTunes and change the selection of photos to be synced so that only one or two new photos is selected (and none of the existing ones) and then sync. If that removes the existing ones, then remove the checkmark and sync again.
    Sync instructions in the following link if needed: iTunes: Syncing photos

  • To-dos in ICal on the IPhone?

    Is there any way to have the to-dos in ICal show up on the IPhone? If not, will this be possible in 2.0?

    At this time it is not possible. And the full list of items in firmware 2.0 has not been released, so until it is, nobody other than Apple knows.

  • Upon syncing my iPhone and mac all of my ical and iPhone calendar events have duplicated. how can i fix this and avoid it in the future?

    upon syncing my iPhone and mac all of my ical and iPhone calendar events have duplicated. how can i fix this and avoid it in the future?

    Greetings,
    Questions:
    1. What version of the Mac OS are you running (Apple > About this Mac)?
    2. What version of the iOS are you running (Settings > About)?
    3. Do you backup your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427)?
    --- If you don't regularly backup your computer, now is the time to start.
    4. Do you backup your iPhone (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766)?
    Check the calendar list on the left hand side of iCal.  Is it that the individual events are duplicated or is it just that you have the same calendar listed more than once?  If its that you have more than 1 copy of each calendar, you can delete one of the duplicate calendars to eliminate the duplicates.
    If you find that it is the individual events that are duplicated then there are 2 options:
    1. Restore your computer iCal database or iPhone from a backup made before the duplication occurred.
    2. Use a duplication removal program (or do it by hand) to remove the duplicates: http://www.nhoj.co.uk/icaldupedeleter/
    If you have a backup made before the duplication occurred, reply back with what kind of backup you have and I'll suggest how to recover the calendars.
    To avoid this issue in the future:
    Keep regular backups.  They are your best defense against data anomalies which are a fact of life in computers (although hopefully rare).
    Keep your computer and iPhone software fully up to date (Apple > Software Update / Settings > General > Software Update).
    Make sure the date and time on your computer and iPhone are correct before you sync the two devices.
    Make sure the cable connections between the two is solid and that the cable shows no signs of physical damage.
    Hope that information helps.

  • Syncing iCal and iPhone

    I am having the exact same problem! UGH!

  • I have an iMac with 10.9.1 and an iPhone 5 also updated to the newest system and I cannot get a sync set up between Ical and the iPhone or Outlook 2011 mac calendar with the iphone

    I have an iMac with 10.9.1 and an iPhone 5 also updated to the newest system and I cannot get a sync set up between Ical and the iPhone or Outlook 2011 mac calendar with the iphone. I would perfer using outlook but will settle for the Imac calendar

    It depends on what iMac you have. If it is an old PPC (G4 orG5) iMac then no further upgrades are possible. If it an Intel iMac:
    Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
    Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
    (NB: PowerPC applications can still be run in Snow Leopard using Rosetta, but they will not work in later versions of OS X.)
    The OS 10.6 Snow Leopard install DVD is available for $19.99 from the Apple Store:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    and in the UK:
    http://store.apple.com/uk/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
    Check via Software Update whether any further updates are required, particularly to iTunes.
    You should now see the App Store icon in iTunes, and you now need to set up your account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4479
    You can now upgrade to Mavericks OS 10.9 for free IF you have one of the following Macs, with not less than 2GB of RAM, and at least 8GB of available space on your hard drive:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
    MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
    MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later), (15-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later), (17-inch, Late 2007 or later)
    MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
    Mac Mini (Early 2009 or later)
    Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
    iCloud system requirements:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4759
    If you cannot run Mavericks you can purchase the code to use to download Lion from the App Store (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard):
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion
    or Mountain Lion:

  • Is there a way to sync my google calander with my iPhone/iTouch? or atleast with iCal?

    Is there a way to sync my google calander with my iPhone/iTouch with itunes as you can sync contacts? or atleast how can i sync my google calander with iCal?

    That's not how it should work.
    As paulsalter noted, you should add Google calendar to your iCal on the Mac and Calendar app on iPad.
    If you sync the iPad calendar with iTunes, it would only get updated when you sync it.
    If you sync it with Google calendar, the iPad and the Mac will both get updated when you update one.
    To add Google calendar to yrou Mac, see this  -> Get Started with CalDAV - Sync with iCal
    Then add the Google calendar to your iPad.
    See this -> CalDAV: CalDAV Calendar Sync

  • Trying to sync Outlook/iCal with iPhone. Got new Outlook 2011 service package

    I downloaded the Office 2011 service pack, which I thought would solve the calendar sync problem with Outlook & iCal. But when I hook up my iPhone to my MacBook Pro, the sync starts and then gets hung up on Step 2 syncing calendar. I've let it go for more than an hour and it does not progress. On iTunes, I have checked the box not to sync anything older than 30 days.

    I got it to work. You need to open iSync and reset the sync history. Then it works great.  Got to this by talking to Apple iphone support.

  • Sync issues with iCal on iPhone/iMac

    I have recently picked up an iPhone 5, running iOS 6.1.  I also run an iMac (circa late 2008) which is running Snow Leopard, so no iCloud integration.  I am trying to sync the iCal's on both devices, and I am seeing the following behavior: If I create an event on my iPhone, and then "Sync" manually using iTunes, then the new event appears on my iMac, but not the other way around, i.e. I tend to use my iMac as the Master calendar, so I would like to create an event on my iMac, and then have it appear on my iPhone when I "Sync", but I can't seem to make this happen.  So, the Sync behavior seems unidirectional, from the iPhone to the iMac only, but not the other way around.
    I have selected the "Sync this phone with Wi-Fi" option on the iPhone->Summary tab and the "Sync Calendars" option on the iPhone->Info tab in iTunes.
    Does anyone know how to make the iCal sync-ing be bi-directional (or barring that, uni-directional the "other" way) ?
    Thanks in advance.

    And it looks like I've just answered my own question!!
    Just found this post online, followed all the steps, rebooted, sign out then signed back in to MobileMe, re-registered the laptop and Bob's-your-uncle.
    So if anyone needs help, just follow these easy steps....
    The report shows that you have some data corruption. You should be able to resolve this by resetting Sync Services:
    * Open iSync (in /Applications)
    * Go to preferences
    * Click Reset Sync History
    * Try syncing again
    If that fails to resolve the issue, try replacing the database:
    * If you haven't done so lately, make a backup of your iCal calendars (iCal File menu > Back up iCal)
    * Quit out of all open programs
    * Make sure that nothing is syncing (Spanning Sync, .Mac, iSync)
    * Move these two folders to the trash:
    ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices (~ refers to your home directory)
    ~Library/Application Support/iSync/SyncLocalCopy (~ refers to your home directory)
    * Restart
    * Open iCal and give it a few minutes to write out the new database
    Please let us know if that doesn't address the problem or you have other questions.
    That didn't work in my case, so I ran another report (contained within the Spanning Sync Application) and sent it to them a second time. What they suggested next fixed the problem for me.
    I'm still seeing the same errors in the new report. Lets try clearing your calendar cache:
    * Quit out of iCal if it's open
    * Delete this file:
    ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache
    (~ refers to your home directory.)
    * Delete the contents of this folder:
    ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Sync Changes/
    (~ refers to your home directory.)
    * Open iCal
    * Wait at least five minutes until after it finishes "Upgrading Calendars"
    * Sync!

  • Is it possible to sync multiple mobileme accounts onto the iphone, syncing ical calendars for these multiple mobile me accounts ?

    I am trying to sync two mobileme accounts into my iphone and each account have different calendars ( all being with ical NOT CALDAV).
    Now, my question is can I sync these different calendars, belonging to different mobileme accounts, into the iphone? please assist me on this matter.
    Basically i want to have a work calendar  to share with my colleagues and a personal calendar to share just with my friends and family.

    You are correct.  This used to work in the past although admittedly I haven't tried it for some time as it was of no direct use for my purposes.
    If the goal is to see another MobileMe account's calendar(s) on your iOS device then an alternative would be to share the calendar(s) in question to yourself.
    Example:
    Assume you currently have MobileMe user account A on your iPhone.
    Login to MM user account B with me.com which has the calendar you wish to have access to on your iPhone
    Click on Calendars
    Click on the Share button for the calendar you wish to see added to your iPhone.
    Type in the MobileMe email address for MM user account A and set it for read & write access
    Login to MM user account A on me.com
    Go to calendars and accept the invitation to join the calendar you sent from MM account B
    Go your iPhone (you may need to turn it on and off to make the calendars refresh ) and check your calendars, you should now have the other calendars added to your MobileMe account A's calendar
    Note: You can repeat step # 3 for each of the calendars you wish to see on your iPhone.
