Syncing to two itunes accounts?

I recently purchased 50 ipads for work (public school) and am trying to figure out if it is possible to sync to 2 itunes accounts at a time. This would allow teachers to use, but not own school purchased apps, and also keep their personal calendar and apps as well. Possible?

I'm not sure I agree with you, but then I've certainly been wrong before.  When one tries to sync with more than one iTunes account, things will get messed up big time.  And for 50 teachers to  do what you suggested, will become an administrative nightmare for whoever manages the devices.  Further, what the OP is suggesting is that 50 users would each have an iTunes account with their own calendars.  It would not seem at all likely this is possible.

Not sure what you mean by "sync two itunes accounts".

  • How do I separate the content of two iTunes accounts on one PC running Windows 7?

Hello.  I have a dilemma that has been going on for years and am hopeful that someone can outdo the staff at the Apple Store Genius Bar who, after trying multiple times, could not solve this problem. This is a doozie, so get comfortable...
My wife and I have two separate iTunes accounts.  For clarity, this is two separate iTunes store accounts, where we each can log in with a separate e-mail address and password. Years ago, she had her own laptop from which she accessed iTunes and synced her iPhone without any issues.  I used another laptop to sync my iPhone, and all was well until the hard drive on my wife's laptop crashed.
After that, my wife logged into iTunes on my laptop and connected her iPhone to my laptop to sync up, but we found that all of the apps and data on her iPhone synced to my iTunes account.  When I connected my iPhone to the laptop to sync up, all of the content of her iPhone synced to my iPhone. Also, when she connected to the laptop and synced her iPhone, all of my content synced to her phone. So, she stopped connecting her iPhone to the laptop because we were not able to find a way to separate my content from her content when we sync our phones.
To make it more complicated, any app that we both run on our iPhone (e.g. Facebook, Yelp, etc.) is somehow "registered" under my account on her iPhone.  So, if any apps that we both use have an updated version, she is prompted to first enter her iTunes password to authorize the download for apps that only she runs, and then for my password to authorize apps that we both run. In other words, her iPhone is somehow permanently linked to my iTunes account.
Now, to make this even more interesting, let me add another level of despair.  When iOS 5 was released in 2011, we tried to update her iPhone by installing the new OS but the OS crashed during the install.  All of the apps that she had installed on her phone, including new contacts, were lost because she had not synced to the laptop for some time. When the iPhone was restored and iOS5 was installed at the Apple Store, we learned that all contacts and pictures stored there were lost.  Fortunately the apps that she purchased were saved because they were still stored on her iTunes account, but still are only accessible through my iTunes account on the laptop since all of the content is merged, as mentioned above. Also, when we restored them, she got all apps (mine and hers) so she had to manually delete mine which took a lot of time.  So, consequently she is still running iOS 5 because we don't want to deal with the hassle of losing any data or having to manually delete my apps from her iPhone.
So, I am extremely hopeful that someone can demonstrate some intellectual "heavy lifting" and can help us to answer the following questions:
    1) How can we set up iTunes so that our content is separated rather than stored completely on my iTunes account?
    2) How can we modify the settings in iTunes and/or iPhone so that we will only access our own content upon connecting to the laptop? (Note: I realize that iCloud makes it unnecessary to sync via USB but occasionally use the computer to charge my iPhone and it syncs automatically)
    3) How can we modify the settings on her iPhone so that it does not recognize mutual apps as "my" apps and prompt her to enter my iTunes password to update them when a new release is available?
    4) If she were to install the current version of iOS, how can we ensure that her data will not be lost if the software crashes again?
Whoever can figure this out gets to brag about being the coolest person in the world, at least in my book. Thanks in advance.

  • Can you have two itunes accounts on the same computer?

Can you have two itunes accounts on the same computer and if so how do you access them without syncing each others music?

Yes. Use separate iTunes libraries(launch iTunes with the Shift(Windows) or Option(Mac OS X) key held down as needed), or different user accounts on the computer.

  • Two iTunes accounts on one computer one iPad

    Hi,
In our house we have an iMac with two user accounts on it - my account and my wife's. We have separate iTunes accounts, and share music between them. We have recently bought an iPad, which is synced to my iTunes account. However it's a shared machine so we would ideally like to be able to access both iTunes libraries from it. Is this possible, and if so how do we go about it without having to merge our music collections together (something we'd rather not do, as we have different tastes)?
I know iPads aren't ideal for multiple users, but surely there's a way to do this?
    Thanks!

He intentado creando nuevas cuentas y desinstalando iTunes y volviendolo a instalar.
Favor de orientarme en la solucion adecuada para el asunto comentado anteriormente.

  • Can I set up two iTunes accounts on one computer?

I have a personal iTunes account set up on my laptop, but I need to create an account for my school. Can I have two iTunes accounts on one computer?

I think you can. But issues can happen when you sync, transfer, and back-up with itunes on computer.

  • If I have two iTunes accounts, and only want one to update my apps why does the other account keep opening?

Here's the issue-I have two iTunes accounts, yet account #1 always comes up when I want to update my apps. This occurs even when account #2 is logged in and has been synced from desktop to iPad. Additionally,Account #2 is logged in on the iPad and yet account #1 prompt appears when updating. Interestingly account #2 functions normal for iTunes purchases but not apps purchases. Any suggestions?

Apps will ALWAYS be tied to the account from which they were purchased.  You will always have to update the apps from the account from which they were purchased.

  • Can I have two itunes accounts on my pc? I have one account on the computer and the second on a portable back up.

Can I have two Itunes accounts on one pc? One is on our PC now, and I have another on a portable back up. I hope I can.......thanks.

Yes, you can have multiple Apple IDs within one iTunes copy.
Note that all purchases will forever be tied to the Apple ID that was used to buy them. You will have to authorize the computer to the new library, as each device can be synced with just a single computer.

What do you mean by, "synch two itunes accounts"? You don't sync iTunes accounts.
WHat are yoru trying to accomplish?
iTunes account= Used to make iTunes purchases.
iTunes library = All your media and what you see when you open iTunes.

  • Can you have two itunes accounts on a single phone?

Is it possible on an iphone 5s to have two itunes accounts? My child is getting to an age, where they should have their own itunes account.  We share music and applications and i do not want to have to re-buy everything?

you can but you can also get locked out the way varjak is recommending for 90 days. what i advise is to use a computer and itunes.  authorise both ids and sign in with 1st download purchases then second and download purchases.  then sync content to your phone. these will help

  • Two iTunes accounts, one ipad

Is it possible to have two itunes accounts set up on one iPad.  Husband and I are sharing an iPad and want to know if this can work?

Technically, yes. You can log out of your current ID and log in with his and them download his past purchases.  However you will have to log back into yours when you update your stuff. And when ever you sync it to your computer it will erase his stuff from it.

  • Synching iPhone to two iTunes accounts

I have two iTunes accounts. One contains all my music for my iPod and is on our home computer. The other is on my company laptop. I have synced my iPhone 4 to the account on the laptop (so it syncs my Outlook info for business). I want to move the music from the iTunes account on my home computer into my iPhone. But if I try to manually move the music to my iPhone, it tells me that the phone can be synched to only one iTunes library and asks if I want to erase the iPhone and synch with this (my home computer's) iTunes library. How can I get the music from the one iTunes account either into my iPhone or into the other iTunes account? If I elect to "erase this iPhone" and synch with the iTunes library on my home computer, what exactly is erased from the iPhone? Just whatever music I might have in the phone (I have none)? Or does it erase everything in the phone (i.e. apps, etc.). Thanks so much to anybody who can help.

"Copy to an external hard drive?"
Yes, or dvd,cd, flash drive, etc. Where is your backup copy of your computer? It should have everything on it. You can use it to move everything.
"Second: Could I sync my iPhone to one computer just for music and to the other computer for other purposes (apps, Outlook calendar, etc.)? "
    Hope it helps.
You can sync itunes content ( music/apps/vids/etc) with one computer and you can sync contacts/calendars to a different computer.
    Hope this helps.

  • I have two Ipods andwant t oset up two Itune accounts with two different libraries

I have two Ipods and want to set up two Itune accounts with two different libraries.  Can this be done?

You can, but switching iTunes libraries and store accounts is generally more hassle than it is worth. You can sync each device with selected purchases and if you have more than one iOS device disable the option to Automatically include new apps, then apps purchased on one device won't automatically load onto the other.

  • Will I have problems with two iTunes Accounts?

When I first bought my Mac, I didn’t have MobileMe, and therefore I used my Comcast email address in order to set up my iTunes account. I purchased several Apps, music, and iBooks under my Comcast account, however, since purchasing MobileMe, I have kept myself signed into iTunes under my MobileMe Account, and have made all purchases using my Mobileme iTunes account. Unfortunately, I know this means that I have two iTunes accounts.
For mail, I solely use MobileMe, and any email I get from Comcast, is forwarded to my MobileMe Account. When I get “App Updates” available on my iOS devices (iPhone 4S and iPad2), the “pop up” (which requires I enter my password to allow the download to begin) will be associated with either my Comcast email address, or my MobileMe address (depending upon which account I purchased the App, Music, or Book under). I do use only one single computer for backing up however.
While this hasn’t created any problems using an iTunes hard or wireless sync, I didn’t know if I will have any difficulties once migrating over to iCloud. I’m hopeful that everything works as it has. I don’t have a family account, all purchases under the Comcast and MobileMe addresses currently live locally on my iMac that I use for syncing.
Just wanted to check with you all before I migrate to iCloud, as I didn’t want to lose any of my Apps, Music or Books, nor do I want to have difficulties with App updates (e.g. problems migrating purchases to iCloud that were originally bought under my Comcast Account, or problems updating Apps when updates are available that were originally purchased under my Comcast Account).
Thanks you in advance for any input!
    Best,
    iDan
PS: I recently updates to iOS 5, and 10.7.2!

My personal experience has been no issues with either browser, including using a secure webmail account access.  If others have reported issues, I really can't comment since I haven't had any.  I have used my systems extensively in Paris and Zurich, especially at the technical university in Zurich and been satisfied with my access.
Of course, if you have more than one browser installed you can easily switch between them if problems do arise...a lot to be said for options
