Syncing two iphones and having seperate calendars

Hi. I have two iphones and I am trying to sync them- everything is set to sync seperately but it will not give me an option to sync two calendars and it will not sync the two phones into one calendar- I have searched the net and this forum and can not find out how to do this....can ANYONE help me?!

I want to make sure that her contacts go into the address book, under her group. I don't want to lose her her contacts on the phone, when I re-synch her iphone.
You should select the Merge option. If you don't, the existing contact information in the Address Book on your Mac will replace all contact info in her iPhone's address book.

Questions:
1. What version of the Mac OS are you running (Apple > About this Mac)?
2. What version of the iOS are you running (Settings > About)?
3. Do you backup your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427)?
--- If you don't regularly backup your computer, now is the time to start.
4. Do you backup your iPhone (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766)?
Check the calendar list on the left hand side of iCal. Is it that the individual events are duplicated or is it just that you have the same calendar listed more than once? If its that you have more than 1 copy of each calendar, you can delete one of the duplicate calendars to eliminate the duplicates.
If you find that it is the individual events that are duplicated then there are 2 options:
1. Restore your computer iCal database or iPhone from a backup made before the duplication occurred.
2. Use a duplication removal program (or do it by hand) to remove the duplicates: http://www.nhoj.co.uk/icaldupedeleter/
If you have a backup made before the duplication occurred, reply back with what kind of backup you have and I'll suggest how to recover the calendars.
To avoid this issue in the future:
Keep regular backups. They are your best defense against data anomalies which are a fact of life in computers (although hopefully rare).
Keep your computer and iPhone software fully up to date (Apple > Software Update / Settings > General > Software Update).
Make sure the date and time on your computer and iPhone are correct before you sync the two devices.
Make sure the cable connections between the two is solid and that the cable shows no signs of physical damage.

Enable iCloud on both, and Calendars on the iPhone should sync with iCal on the Mac wirelessly.

Having problems syncing to iPhone and iPad

Im really struggling to sync my photos to my iphone, I tell it which projects to copy over and then it just randomly copies some of them sometimes then other times none and doesnt copy over information such as faces and places.
On my ipad it syncs them fine but a lot of the photos are blurry...which they aint on my aperture?!

Try this. Go into the Aperture library (Control-Click on it and "Show Package Contents".) Delete the folder "iPod Photo Cache".) Sync your iPhone (and/or iPad and/or iPod) again. This may solve it. If this short procedure doesn't work, the try the long way:
1) Uncheck the "Synch Photos from ..." box in iTunes. Sync to delete the photos from the i*. Quit iTunes.
2) Start Aperture. Select all the previews that you want on your i*. Choose Delete Previews from the Photos menu. Quit Aperture.
3) Delete the iPod Cache folder from the Aperture library as described above.
4) Launch Aperture, select the photos (projects, albums, ...) you are synching and do Generate Previews from the Photos menu. Quit Aperture.
5) Launch iTunes, and recheck the Synch Photos box, choose the stuff you want synched, and then hit the Apply (or Sync) button.
Please let people know if this works.

A Tale of Two iPhones and One iTunes

So this little problem has plagued us for years... nearly three to be more precise. We have two iPhones and one PC. Wife syncs contacts with GMail and I sync contacts with Outlook. Funny thing was that the tab for contact sync would not 'stick' with the phone... if I synced mine first, when I plugged hers in it would still be setup for Outlook. Or if I changed it to Google for her and then plugged mine in it wouldn't remember my phone wanted Outlook and would sync with Google. I gave up trying to get it working and setup a seperate profile on the PC for my wife that really was only used for her to sync her phone. The only drawback we could see was we couldn't have a single repository for apps and I had to add music to libraries twice (one for each profile on the computer).
Well, now that we're on the 4S I thought I'd see if iTunes has evolved since 3 years ago when I gave up. I uninstalled all Apple applications and loaded the latest iTunes. The cool part of iOS 5 and the new iTunes is we don't have to connect phones any more So now both phones show up at the same time. I can toggle through all the tabs and see how they differ... different sets of applications are selected, different photo options, music options, etc. EXCEPT the tab with contacts. If I set her phone to google, my phone changes too. I set mine back to Outlook and hers changes to Outlook. We've mixed and matched contacts several times trying to get them to stay in tune and that is a huge PITA to clean up.
I tried the Genius bar. The Genius answer was that we should probably do a restore on the phone. I asked him to help me understand how restoring one phone would solve a problem that existed across 4 phones (two 3G's and two 4S's) and untold versions of iTunes over three years. He just insisted that we probably need to do a restore on the 4S. You know, because that would clearly explain the problem we also had on the 3G. His backup plan was to call Apple support.
So before I submit a ticket to Apple, anyone else able to confirm this limitation? I've checked with my friends and the ones that have iPhones don't sync their contacts anywhere. iCloud will help but we use XP and the PC software requires Vista or better so for now we're still unable to sync our contacts to our PC.

On your wife's phone, when you said you've done a restore, was that a restore from backup or as a "new" device? I would suggest deleting the .ipsw file/files on your computer, connecting your wife's phone and restore as "new". When finished, DO NOT SYNC, rather eject the phone and test, verify that all is working correctly. If so, connect her phone & sync her content back.
The .ipsw file is located here, delete all you find, there should only be one:
~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates
If this works, under preferences, devices, in itunes, delete her backups, as they are most likely corrupted.

CAn You Sync Two iPhones to the same iTunes Account?

Has anyone been successful in syncing two iPhones to the same iTunes account. I am the main user of our Mac and my wife just uses it for email and internet browsing. Basically she uses my user account and therefore we share one contacts list, one calendar, one iTunes, and both use the same Mac Mail with our own email addresses. Both also want to use MobileMe.

Yes.. It is a very difficult process.. First, log into 1 computer with your account and Authorize that computer to use the iPhone. then Sync your phone.. Log out and go to the second computer.. login and Authorize then sync your phone.

No, I would recommed to use two separate iCloud accounts for mail, calendars, notes, reminders, contacts etc.

Welcome to the Apple community.
Ideally you should each have your own iCloud account, providing you with your own contacts, calendars etc, not doing so will result in exactly what you have experienced. The contacts have likely been lost due to the options you have chosen at the login stage on each device.
Unless you have the missing contacts in a backup file, they won't be recoverable unfortunately. You can add them manually to the contracts that already exist and continue to share the iCloud account if you wish, but I suggest that you each have your own iCloud account.
Note, you can each have your own iCloud account, but continue to share an iTunes account for purchases of apps, books, music, TV shows etc etc.

Itunes content ( music/vids/app) and pics can be synced with one computer at a time. If you sync to another it will first erase the content from the iphone and replace with content from the new computer.
You can sync contacts and calendars with two computers.
You can use home share to share the music between computers, allowing the same content on both computers.

Computer crashed how to sync TWO iphones on one computer?

Any help is appreciated. My PC that I sync my iphone on has crashed and I tried to sync my iphone on my wifes laptop, but she has an iphone as well. I can log into iTunes, but cannot see any of my podcasts, applications or information.

The easiest least complicated way to keep your info and her info seperate and not worry about things is to take advantage of user profiles on your computer (in XP)...so each of you log into XP with your own accounts, thus iTunes (and any other software like mail, etc) all have your own settings.
Otherwise, you will have to watch which account is logged into iTunes Store (click store and see what name is up top right in case you both have different accounts)...and make sure you are logged in with the right account before syncing. iTunes does know the difference between your phones so each can setup different settings of what to sync to, but your library on your computer will be mixed unless you do what I said first, use different profiles (user logins) for XP.

2.      Top right hand part of the screen select "Options"
3.     Select "See All Options"
4.      Select "Phone" menu
Check if you have 10 Devices registered.
If you have, you need to delete one of them to add your new Smart Phone to Exchange for synching
Check the "Last Sync Time" to indicate if this device is still active or not.
