Syncing Two IPhones - Help!

My one daughter already had an iPhone. Bought one for my second daughter today. How do I stop Daughter 1's contacts and content automatically syncing onto the second one?

There are Four options
1) You will either have to set up a second iTunes account for your other daughter and make sure they sign in and out of iTunes when they are using it.
2) create a second user in windows itself which is kinda the equivalent of having two seperate computers.
Note: These options would mean that they couldn't share App's at all so if they both wanted a particular one you would have to purchase it twice.
3) Another option is to set the second iPhone (or both) to not sync contacts and calendars at all, that way Apps and songs could still be shared but you would have to manage the contacts and calendars directly from the iPhone/s only.
4) Create multiple groups of contacts in the XP address book say Family and then under that would be Daughter1 and Daughter2 each with the respective phone numbers that apply to each etc...
then on the iPhone when you go to Contacts App click "Groups" and they can choose to view just their group, while all the contacts from both would reside on both iPhones they would only be viewing the one's that where applicable to them.
Note: These options would mean that they could share App's so if they both wanted a particular one you wouldn't have to purchase it twice.

  • Syncing two iphone

Can you sync two iphones to the same iTunes account? I have the 3g and I just purchased the 3gs today, or at least ordered it at ATT. Now my old iPhone (3g) has my wife’s sims care in it and is at this time is doing a full restore. The ATT guy says it takes about two hours. When that is complete will I be able to sync it to my computer with my existing iTunes account. When I get mine in about a week (I hope) and also sync it again with the computer how will iTunes differentiate between the two phones. Should I set the iTunes main page to not sync when the phone is connected.(I believe that is an option) I have never done that. I just want to keep her stuff and my stuff separated. But prefer not to do separate iTunes accounts so we can at least share some of the same music I have purchased on both phones. I hope I have made myself clear. Currently, my old 3g has not been synced to the computer. I am still waiting for the restore. I just want her to be able to control what goes on here phone. We both want separate stuff on our phones.. Thanks in advance for any help...

Each iPhone can have its own sync preferences with iTunes on the same computer even if both iPhones have the same name, but you want each iPhone to have a different name for the iPhone backup that is created and maintained by iTunes for each iPhone.
You can change the name of an iPhone when connected to iTunes and available in the iTunes source list just as you can change the name of an iTunes playlist, or change the name of an existing folder or file name on your computer.
Click once on the name of the iPhone in the iTunes source list and wait until the name area for the iPhone is highlighted - a second or two, which provides for changing the name. When finished, select elsewhere to stop the name area from being highlighted.

  • Computer crashed how to sync TWO iphones on one computer?

Any help is appreciated. My PC that I sync my iphone on has crashed and I tried to sync my iphone on my wifes laptop, but she has an iphone as well. I can log into iTunes, but cannot see any of my podcasts, applications or information.
Is there any way to sync two iphones on one computer?

The easiest least complicated way to keep your info and her info seperate and not worry about things is to take advantage of user profiles on your computer (in XP)...so each of you log into XP with your own accounts, thus iTunes (and any other software like mail, etc) all have your own settings.
Otherwise, you will have to watch which account is logged into iTunes Store (click store and see what name is up top right in case you both have different accounts)...and make sure you are logged in with the right account before syncing. iTunes does know the difference between your phones so each can setup different settings of what to sync to, but your library on your computer will be mixed unless you do what I said first, use different profiles (user logins) for XP.

  • CAn You Sync Two iPhones to the same iTunes Account?

Has anyone been successful in syncing two iPhones to the same iTunes account. I am the main user of our Mac and my wife just uses it for email and internet browsing. Basically she uses my user account and therefore we share one contacts list, one calendar, one iTunes, and both use the same Mac Mail with our own email addresses. Both also want to use MobileMe.
    Thanks,
    trippj

Yes.. It is a very difficult process.. First, log into 1 computer with your account and Authorize that computer to use the iPhone. then Sync your phone.. Log out and go to the second computer.. login and Authorize then sync your phone.
    It worked for me

How to sync two IPhone with one PC , but with different applications ?
We have two IPhones , but one PC , we want to sync separately , is that possible ?

Absolutely, connect each phone, select what content you want on each phone, then hit the sync button. iTunes will keep everything straight, by device, upon subsequent syncs, including separate backups.

  • Syncing two iphones on itunes

I used my wife's computer to sync my iPhone4 (since my laptop was in the shop and I hadn't connected to iTunes to upgrade software). I went to the Apple Store and spoke to someone at the Genius Bar (or service counter?) and asked about using ONE itunes to sync TWO separate devices. Again, I needed to sync to get the latest update to the iPhone4, at that time.
Well, I was assured that there wouldn't be any 'crossover'. What's mine would remain mine; what's hers would remain hers.
That isn't completely true. ALL of my apps are in iTunes and her apps are on my phone.
I just wanted to sync my iPhone, back up MY apps, NOT get my wife's apps, and keep the iOS current.
The advice that I got helped to create a mess. It's not a serious FUNCTIONAL problem. But, it's quite a bit annoying. (I have TONS more apps than the wife and our social media interests are VASTLY different.)
Any advice on how we can clean up this mess AND avoid it, in the future, even if we share the same laptop to sync?

  • Syncing two iphones and having seperate calendars

Hi. I have two iphones and I am trying to sync them- everything is set to sync seperately but it will not give me an option to sync two calendars and it will not sync the two phones into one calendar- I have searched the net and this forum and can not find out how to do this....can ANYONE help me?!

I want to make sure that her contacts go into the address book, under her group. I don't want to lose her her contacts on the phone, when I re-synch her iphone.
You should select the Merge option. If you don't, the existing contact information in the Address Book on your Mac will replace all contact info in her iPhone's address book.

  • Sync two iphones, sync two iphones

    Hi,
I have a question about sync two differente Iphones.
I currently have two iPhones (one iphone4 personal and another iPhone 4S from work). I gave different names for each one.
The fact is that I want to sync both iPhones in such away that:
    the contacts are syn,
    notes are sync,
music library is the same (so once I add something in one IPhone, the other one will be sync),
    app are sync.
So far, I was able to sync (for both iPhone) only the contacts, notes, etc.
This because I could sett up within each one through the iCloud set up. However, I could not find how to sync the music library and the app.
I did not sync the calendar because I do want to leave the info in my personal calendar appears in the work iPhone calendar. In case there is a way of solve this, it would be great also.
So my point is really to choose what I want to sync in both iPhones, in particular with regards to the music library and app.
    Thank you a lot,
    Augusto

I'm so sorry, but I don't understand what you said in your response.  I do have the same apple-id on both iPhone4S but what and how do you "turn icloud seetings on the things you will sync."  Does this mean I have to put my 5,000 tunes in icloud?  I'm sure this is simple to do, I just don't understand how to do it.  Would you please give me a little help on this - I want my iPhone4S and my wife's to be identical (Music, Photos, Apps, contacts, calendar,...).  thanks again!!!

  • Sync Two Iphone On One Laptop

My girl-friend owns a 16GB 3GS running on software version 3.1.2 and I own a 32GB 3GS running software version 3.1.3. After I sync both iphone on my laptop, nothing works on the 16GB iphone. The moment I tap on any Apps, it returns to the home screen immediately. Everything works fine for my 32GB iphone. I am using only one I-tunes store account.
Can I sync 2 iphone on one computer?
Must I update from version 3.1.2 to 3.1.3?
Can I downgrade from version 3.1.3 to 3.1.2?

Can I sync 2 iphone on one computer? - Yes and No
Must I update from version 3.1.2 to 3.1.3? You should
Can I downgrade from version 3.1.3 to 3.1.2? No reverting to a previous version is not allowed...legally in the TOU rules by Apple
When I say yes and no... I mean it can be done but the steps you're using is not the best way...
Best bet is to use a different user log in for that PC and then create two iTunes accounts... you can still share apps and music via Home sharing and copy items back and forth

  • How to sync two iPhones on to the same MacBook Pro?

I have an iPhone 4 and previously I would sync my phone to my MacBook, but my husband bought me a PC.  So now instead of figuring out how to sync to my PC I would really just like to sync to his Macbook Pro, as I am using that more due to a new job.  How do I do this w/o messing my phone up the first time I sync and then how do I continue to do this without adding all his contact and calendar info into my phone too?  Also I am signing up for MobileMe and have questions about how that works with two iPhones in the house and using the same iTunes account for apps and such (we rarely if ever purchase music).
    Thanks so very much!!!
