Syncing two iPhones with address book

Anyone know if you can have two iphones with seperate address books but still use the same address book to sync with?

You can do this by utilizing an Address Book Group or Groups - one iPhone synced with a chosen Group or Groups, and the other iPhone synced with a different Group or Groups.
For a contact to be available in a Group, the contact must be available in the primary Address Book "All" Group, so all contacts available on each iPhone will be available in the primary Address Book "All" Group.
If you don't want all contacts available with each iPhone to be available in the primary Address Book "All" Group, you need to create another computer login account for the other iPhone. This will create a Home folder directory for the new user account. The Address Book under this user account can be populated with the contact information available on the associated iPhone only - and the same for calendars and calendar events, and bookmarks.
iTunes content only can be synced with iTunes under the existing computer login account, and contact information, calendar events, and bookmarks can be synced with the additional computer login account.
You can enable Fast User Switching to make the process of switching between multiple computer login accounts a fast and easy process.

How to sync two IPhone with one PC , but with different applications ?
We have two IPhones , but one PC , we want to sync separately , is that possible ?

Absolutely, connect each phone, select what content you want on each phone, then hit the sync button. iTunes will keep everything straight, by device, upon subsequent syncs, including separate backups.

Is there a way to open two windows with address book on my computer?

Photoshop only has one Color Palette.  If you could script something  like a Color Palette with  two sets of active sliders the script would be in control till you dismissed its sliders dialog.  You would not be able to do anything but adjust the script's sliders in Photoshop while the script dialog window is being displayed.  Photoshop Scripting does not have real palette dialog type support.
I do not know what is possible with Photoshop extensions using HTML 5 Panels.....

You should have signed in with that address in the first place, but there is a workaround: go to System preferences>Mail, Contacts@ Calendars and add your @me.com address as an account there.

  • Trying to sync iPod(s) with Address Book and iCal via iTunes

I've got 2 iPods one an iPod Nano (3rd GEN), 4GB the other is an iPod 60 GB Video (Fifth Generation) which is now vintage. When I try to sync either iPod on either my MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion (10.8.2) or my MacBook Air running Lion (10.7.5) with Address Book or iCal which are both populated with several hundred entries on iCloud and locally.
With Sync Contacts I keep getting the following Comment "No contacts available Contact syncing cannot be enabled because there are no contacts available. Do you want to open Contacts and create contacts now?" Selecting either option has no effect. There are 731 on iCloud and 895 on my Mac.
With Sync Calendars I keep getting the following Comment "No calendars available Calendar syncing cannot be enabled because there are no calendars available. Do you want to open Calendar and create a calendar now?" Selecting either option has no effect.
    iTunes 10.7 (21) 64-bit
I've reset both iPods, no help.

  • Syncing two iPhones with one iTunes account, archive and install

I had a blue screen and had to archive and install.
I re-synched my iPhone and at that time put my iPhone contacts in my address book with
my group name, that I just created. I created a group for her and now want to re-synch her iPhone
with my computer and with my iTunes account, like before. I get a message that the info on that her iPhone is synched with another user account. A choice to merge info from this user account or replace info from this user account. I want to make sure that her contacts go into the address book, under
her group. I don't want to lose her her contacts on the phone, when I re-synch her iphone.

I want to make sure that her contacts go into the address book, under her group. I don't want to lose her her contacts on the phone, when I re-synch her iphone.
You should select the Merge option. If you don't, the existing contact information in the Address Book on your Mac will replace all contact info in her iPhone's address book.

  • How can I sync two sources in address book 5.0?

I love the new exchange support in Snow Leopard, this helps me keep my exchange contacts at work up to date.
I would like to know how I can synchronize my exchange contacts with my local contacts which I have synchronized with GMail thanks to the new GMail synchronization feature provided with Address Book 5.0.
I can't synch my phone (Sony Ericsson Z750i) with my apple but I can synch it at work, keeping all these sources the same would be absolutely fantastic.

  • Syncing two iphones with one computer

A co-worker and I share a secretary. We'd like to be able to sync our individual calendars (in Outlook '03) on our secretary's PC.
    Is this possible?

    UPDATE:
Well I thought I figured it out when I realized iTunes gives you the option of syncing only selected calendars. My plan was to check only my calendar to sync with my phone and Gary's calendar to syn with his phone.
Unfortunately, the option to sync only selected calendars is grayed out in iTunes. I can only check the "sync all calendars" box.
Surely others have figured out how to sync two phones with one computer and only have the data you specify synced to the specific phone.
Do I have to create another Windows user account where only Gary's calendar is maintained and then switch back and forth between user accounts whenever syncing?
Any help would be much appreciated.

  • Sync a non iPhone with address book

I love my iPhone and got a second non iPhone phone for my wife (she gets my Nano now and this iPhone when new ones come out). Hers is a $200 Samsung and it is murder to do anything on it compared to the iPhone. I want to get a phone that will sync with my address book and is easy to use if there is such a thing besides the iPhone. Any suggestions?

Almost any phone with Bluetooth will sync with the Mac Address Book (and iCal) via iSync. Here's one list of supported phones:

  • Syncing two iPhone with separate Apple ID's to the same PC

I have an iPhone and an iPad syncing to my computer, all three using my apple id. My wife is getting an iPhone and would like to use some of the apps which I have purchaced, as well as the music, movies and tv shows on our computer.
My question is: Can my wife use the content of itunes on my computer on her phone, if her phone is using her apple id (keep in mind that she will not be syncing her phone with any other computer) or will i need to use my apple id on her phone to enable the sharing of apps?
    Thanks in advance.

anything that you have in your itunes library on cpu can be transferred to her device even if those items were downloaded using your apple id.she can purchase apps using her apple id as well and those items will be added to itunes library on the computer.what i'm saying is that if use share each others applications and in the future some of those apps need updating you have to update with whatever apple id they were downloaded from.does that make sense?

  • Sync two iPhones with two different iTunes and iPhoto libraries script

I'm sure this is answered elsewhere, but I was not able to find a solution to this easily. My wife "L" and I, "J" have iPhones, also different tastes in music, and wanted a way to not have all of our own pictures filling up our default iPhoto library. So we first set up two different iTunes and iPhoto libraries. Two diffrent contact libraries would be nice, but contact groups worked okay for this. But then everytime we would sync, it meant opening both iTunes and iPhoto while holding the option key then selecting which library depending on which phone was going to be pluged in. Believe me, you only need to have "Automatically sync" turned on and plug in the wrong iPhone before all sorts of problems arise!
Let me state, I am not fluent with AppleScript, but rather I found bits and pieces close to what I wanted here and there on the www and kept playing until it worked. This works flawlessly everytime on our MacBook, and, unless your initials are J & L and there are only two of you, you will have to change some letters here and there throughout the script to make it work for your situation. Think of this as a rough draft and start to play. I'm sure there is a simpler way to write this script, so to all the real authors, please re-write!
So we have two libraries for iTunes and iPhoto. One set of libraries named J's iTunes library and J's iPhoto library, and another two named L's iTunes library and L's iPhoto library. I wanted to create one app that would close the current libraries, and open the correct ones (or return to our default libraries) depending on what iPhone was to be synced. Using AppleScript Editor and saving the script as an application, this is what I came up with:
display dialog "Do you want to continue to set iTunes and iPhoto libraries?" buttons {"Cancel", "Continue"} default button "Continue"
    tell application "iPhoto" to quit
    tell application "iTunes" to quit
set Y to the button returned of (display dialog "Which libraries do you want to use?" buttons {"L's", "Reset to Defaults", "J's"} default button "Reset to Defaults")
if Y = "Reset to Defaults" then set Y to "i"
    if Y = "L's" then set Y to "l"
    if Y = "J's" then set Y to "j"
    tell application "System Events"
      key down option
      delay 1
              tell application "iPhoto"
      activate
      delay 3
                        tell application "System Events"
      key up option
                        end tell
              end tell
    end tell
    tell application "System Events"
      keystroke Y
              tell application "System Events"
      key code 36
              end tell
    end tell
    delay 2
    tell application "System Events"
      key down option
              tell application "iTunes"
      activate
                        tell application "System Events"
      key up option
      keystroke return
                        end tell
              end tell
    end tell
    tell application "System Events"
      keystroke Y
    end tell
    tell application "System Events"
      key code 36
    end tell
if Y = "i" then tell application "iTunes" to quit
if Y = "i" then tell application "iPhoto" to quit

    Hi, thanks for your answer.
Unfortunately this does not work because iTunes still keeps one account with the store active regardless which library I open. So when I switch the account in the store it will be switched for both libraries. That means that I can not separate the iPhone applications and all the other specific sync parameters.
I thought about using my wife's account on the Mac and pointing iTunes to the new library - the problem here is that then the iPhoto library is not accessible any more......
I can't really believe that there is no solution from Apple - I mean there must be more couples and families out there with 2 and more iPhones syncing with one iTunes / iPhoto etc libraries.
Any other ideas? Thanks in advance!

  • Sync two iphones with same info

I have a verizon iphone 4s and would like to keep my att iphone 4.
How can I sync the same stuff on both phones?

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same iTunes account, there is no limit. So, just sync both phones to your account. You can restore your new Verizon phone from the backup of your 4, if you like. I'd suggest giving each phone a different name in iTunes, just to keep things straight.
