I had a blue screen and had to archive and install.
I re-synched my iPhone and at that time put my iPhone contacts in my address book with
my group name, that I just created. I created a group for her and now want to re-synch her iPhone
with my computer and with my iTunes account, like before. I get a message that the info on that her iPhone is synched with another user account. A choice to merge info from this user account or replace info from this user account. I want to make sure that her contacts go into the address book, under
her group. I don't want to lose her her contacts on the phone, when I re-synch her iphone.

You should select the Merge option. If you don't, the existing contact information in the Address Book on your Mac will replace all contact info in her iPhone's address book.

My husband and I have always shared a personal email account. We got iPhones a year ago and each set them up to view our shared email. He also has a separate email account for work. Unfortunately, when either of us takes a "note" on the notepad or sets an alert on the calendar, it shows up on the other person's phone. I assume these aps use the email to sync? 1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

Syncing an Iphone with multiple Itunes accounts

I recently traveled with my Iphone and when at my brother's place, I logged in to Itunes with my ID, purchased some tv shows for my daughter and was able to sync them to my phone. When I got home and synced with my own laptop, it told me it had to sync with my existing IPhone information and I would lose anything that wasn't in there. So I synced and the shows are now gone from my phone and my Itunes purchases. Isn't there a way to purchase where it downloads into Itunes store but it follows you b/c of the fact that you logged in to purchase it? I paid for those items so I feel like I should still be seeing them in my Itunes account here.
Did I just do something wrong? I have a Iphone G3.

For media content - music, videos and movies - and apps, you can only sync an iPhone to one iTunes library. There's no way around that. So that's why you had the issue when you connected the iPhone to your home computer again. Anything that is not in your home iTunes library will indeed be erased from the iPhone.
Further, if you purchase an item from the iTunes Store on another computer, then with the exception of apps, you get only one download per purchase. So if you buy anything other than an iPhone app on any other computer, it will be your responsibility to either make sure it transfers to your computer from the iPhone - you do not let the iPhone automatically sync when you connect it, then you use the "Transfer Purchases from iPod" command under the File menu in iTunes to copy the purchased content from your iPhone - or you copy it from the computer to your own via a flash drive, CD, etc.

A co-worker and I share a secretary. We'd like to be able to sync our individual calendars (in Outlook '03) on our secretary's PC.
Is this possible?

Well I thought I figured it out when I realized iTunes gives you the option of syncing only selected calendars. My plan was to check only my calendar to sync with my phone and Gary's calendar to syn with his phone.
Unfortunately, the option to sync only selected calendars is grayed out in iTunes. I can only check the "sync all calendars" box.
Surely others have figured out how to sync two phones with one computer and only have the data you specify synced to the specific phone.
Do I have to create another Windows user account where only Gary's calendar is maintained and then switch back and forth between user accounts whenever syncing?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Easiest way to untangle two iPhones on one iTunes account

I blame myself for this problem.
My wife and I have two iPhones. I'm into the music so I set up an iTunes account a long time ago for my multiple iPods. It's now come time to disengage my wife's iPhone from my iTunes account. I know how to set up a new iTunes account. I'll get her a separate e-mail address and create the new iTunes account. The problem is I do not want to lose all her photos, contacts, etc., from her iPhone when I go to link her phone to her iTunes account.
I'm guessing if I set up the new iTunes account and then back up her phone to the new account's iCloud file I may be able to get around most of these issues. Is that correct? Please advise if not. Any suggestions will be welcome. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Wife and I use same iTunes account (log in for iTunes) for our stuff.
We both sync with same computer.
However, we have separate logins for the computer thus we each have our own Profiles.
While you can do it with one profile (iTunes knows difference between phones) it will become a pain if you sync contacts/calendars as you only have one set on the computer thus you may end up mixing your data there. This is why you should have different logins for your computer thus.
Using one iTunes account does make things easier though as you only need to buy an app once and sync it to both devices (can do that with two accounts as well if both are authorized together in iTunes but becomes a pain).

Hello community. Just had a few questions about my iphone and my wifes. I have had an iphone for almost a year now and have had my login email address and password set up since the beginning. I have the iphone 4. My wife today received her iphone 4s in the mail. I also currently have my iphone set up on the cloud to sync my contacts and calendar. We also have an ipad 2 which is set up through the cloud and I am the only person who uses this for work purposes. One of the main questions I have is how can I sync her iphone and mine using the same iTunes account on our Mac book we have and at the same time not have every purchase or app downloaded onto both phones? I use a few apps for work which she doesn't want but if she was to sync with the cloud or itunes she doesn't want to constantly delete the app or un-select it from syncing to her phone. Also we do enjoy playing some of the same games especially against each other but is ther a way for her to have her own seperate login for either downloading apps or a different login for getting into the game center? Also since we share the same wi-fi network at home is there a way to make it so that when I get home or she gets home and had downloaded apps while away that they don't automatically get sent to each other's phones or the iPad which I use for work? Each device will only sync what you select to sync. If your wife does not want an app, then she should not select it to sync.

Again, if she does not select them to sync, then they will not sync.

My wife and I each have our own iphones. We use just one itunes account on our main computer at home. We each have our own apple ID's.

If you want to continue using one computer, you should at least give each iPhone a name.
Settings > General > About > Name: give each iPhone a unique name.
