Syncing Up Mail systems

My e-mail is thru Cox Communications. Depending on the situation, my MAC will attempt to send e-mail thru the MAC Mail....and fail ("The certificate for this server is invalid"). Is there a means to sync up (?) my MAC e-mail so when it wants to send it via MAC it can and when it wants to send it via Cox it can also?

I would also like to sync with two systems: one *at home*, on my Mac, and another *at work*, with Outlook on a PC.
However *I just want to sync the calendars and the addresses*.
And this does not working properly. Each time I change from one computer to the other, it is like the computer discovers a new iPhone. I have to set again the parameters in iTune and I am always asked to either replace the data from the iPhone or to merge them. I select this later solution of course. Then I always find again the discarded appointments, double addresses ... I often also find two times the same address (or phone numbers, …) for one contact, maybe when I modified it either on the iPhone or on the computer.
I would also like two have to calendars: one private, synchronised between my iPhone and my home computer only and one professional one that synchronises with my iPhone and both my computers: the one at home and the one at work. This does also not work, because if I deselect manually one of this calendar in iTune in order not to synchronise it, iTune will discard it from the iPhone and not from the computer ...
Does somebody have found any work around?

When I put in my regular @me.com email, it says that address already exists (of course it does - it's mine!) and wants me to choose another one. But I want it to sync with my stuff. What can I do? You should have signed in with that address in the first place, but there is a workaround: go to System preferences>Mail, Contacts@ Calendars and add your @me.com address as an account there.

System error when sync e-mail

Hello,
in the menue "Settings - Connectivity - Data transfer - Sync - Options - Synchronise" I get the message "system error" when I want to sync e-mail. The email settings in the sync profile are:
database in phone: ovi
sync e-mail database: ./e-mail/unfiled

Pop accounts and .Mac with Mail system

Iv been trying to learn how to use my iBooks 'mail' system with both my Gmail and .Mac accounts. But, keep coming up with more questions than I can find answers to.
1. Why doesn't mail that I receive or send from my 'mail' programme show up when I go to .Mac and open the mail there? Shouldn't the mail be in both?
2. Same question for folders that I created in both .Mac and the 'mail' system.
3. When using the 'mail' system with POP accounts does deleting mail automatically also delete the mail in the original POP account. In other words if I have the 'mail' system set to delete POP mail for a Gmail account does that also delete the copy over in Gmail?
Just trying to figure out how the 'mail' system works in relation to if I use .Mac. Also, in relation to Gmail. I'm learning that when I'm in .Mac things aren't quite the same.

You can access multiple accounts with the Mail.app and each account has its own webmail access that does not reflect all mailboxes available with an email client such as the Mail.app. It is impossible for webmail access with your .Mac account to reflect your Gmail, Yahoo or any other non-.Mac account mailboxes or any user created "On My Mac" location mailboxes which are stored locally on the hard drive.
The same when accessing your Gmail or Yahoo account via webmail access using a browser. Doing so will reflect your Gmail or Yahoo account mailboxes only.
When logged in to your .Mac account via webmail access using a browser, it will reflect your .Mac account's inbox mailbox in Mail and any other .Mac server stored mailboxes in Mail which are located under your .Mac account named icon in the mailboxes drawer only. It will not reflect the mailboxes for any other account, any imported mailboxes or user created "On My Mac" location mailboxes.

The Mail.app mailboxes drawer includes the following in this order:
* Inbox
* Drafts
* Sent
* Trash
* Junk (only if Junk Mail is set to automatic)
* Smart Mailboxes (only if you have created and are using any Smart Mailboxes)
* Imported Mailboxes (only if you have imported any mailboxes)
* User Created "On My Mac" location mailboxes.
* .Mac account named icon
The Inbox mailbox for each account is located under Inbox in the mailboxes drawer regardless the account type. Open Inbox in the mailboxes drawer by selecting the black triangle beside it pointing it down to reveal the account named Inbox mailbox for each account. Selecting an account named Inbox mailbox in the mailboxes drawer reveals messages received by that account only in the message list. Selecting Inbox in the mailboxes drawer reveals a blended Inbox mailbox for all accounts.
Your .Mac account's Inbox mailbox in the mailboxes drawer is synchronized with the server which is the same behavior with any IMAP account. Messages in your Gmail or Yahoo account's Inbox mailbox are downloaded from the server, not synchronized with the Gmail or Yahoo servers and the same with any POP account. It is impossible for your .Mac account to synchronize the Inbox mailbox for a non-.Mac account.
Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Mailbox Behaviors tab for your .Mac account preferences, if you don't store Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk messages on the server with your .Mac account when using Mail, the account's Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk mailboxes will be available under the Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk categories in the mailboxes drawer. All account mailboxes under Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk in the mailboxes drawer are stored locally on the hard drive.
Open your .Mac account named icon in the mailboxes drawer. All mailboxes under your .Mac account named icon represent/refelect your .Mac account server stored mailboxes when accessing the account via webmail EXCEPT for the account's Inbox mailbox which is located under Inbox in the mailboxes drawer. If you don't select store Drafts, Sent, Trash and Junk messages on the server under the Mailbox Behaviors tab for the account preferences, besides your .Mac account's Inbox mailbox, no other mailboxes are and can be synchronized with the server except for the mailboxes located under your .Mac account named icon in the mailboxes drawer.
When creating a new mailbox, you can select "On My Mac" as the location which is stored locally on the hard drive and will not be synchronized with the server or any server.
Or you can select your .Mac account as the location which will create a server stored mailbox which will be located under your .Mac account named icon in the mailboxes drawer and will be available on the server (via webmail access) and kept synchronized with the server.
No other mailboxes in Mail will be available on the server with your .Mac account via webmail access and this is the same behavior with any email client such as the Mail.app.

Calling AppleCare will be a waste of time because your problem is a lack of knowledge and understanding only. You can't change your Gmail or Yahoo email accounts to a .Mac account with Mail or with any email client since these are separate/different accounts.

IPad mail system

I am a new IPad user but the mail system has got me pulling my hair out. Why dose my mail vanish from the inbox before I have had the chance to read it? Where is it going? Also, how do I add new mail folders?

.Mac accounts are IMAP, not POP. With IMAP the messages are synced to the server rather than individually downloaded to the local device, so changes made on one device are reflected on all devices. The only time I've seen that kind of behavior with my .Mac account is when my desktop or laptop machines are running... they'll sort the mail into the various folders using the rules I've set up on the computer. The messages then will kind of "flash" into existence on the iPad/iPhone before disappearing into their folders. When I open the folder, it sometimes takes a while for the iPad/iPhone to sync the folder so the message shows up (watch the little spinning daisy in the lower left hand corner... sometimes it'll spin for a minute or more, depending on how fast the connection is). If your mail isn't showing up in any of the existing folders, is it possible that they're being caught in a spam trap somewhere? Alternatively, is it possible that these are older messages that you've already read on another device and deleted? If that's the case, the iPad is simply updating it's inbox to reflect the changes.

Outlook Sync Apple Mail/Address Book/Calendar

Anyone knows if Syncing outlook's mail, calendar and address book with Apple Mail, Address Book and iCal is a possible task? I have tried it but one of the machines will ask if i want to erase all data and sync with current system (using iPhone).
What i want to achieve is to sync my work PC and my home MAC so i can constantly work from both locations without having to bring my laptop home. I like to get my work done at night and get everything ready for next day. So when i get to office, i can simply sync my calendar, tasks, and appointments and get to work without having to re-enter the data.

How many mails i can send at a time per day using APEX mail system?

I am working on application, when i have written a process to send mail, i have a project where i have to send mail at a time for all the email id's
given list there are upto 5000 email id's where text body also include certain set of data from a report. thinking at a time 3000 its difficult i divided
it region wise, but still each region have 2000 odd email id's. during testing when i run the process just 950 mails i could send then i got a error
saying "ORA-20001: You have exceeded the maximum number of email messages per workspace. Please contact your administrator." so please
can any one help me to know How many mails i can send at a time per day using APEX mail system?

You are getting the error may be the following reason,
Check the following,
Login as ADMIN and Goto -->Manage Instance-->Instance Settings--> Mail-->Maximum Emails per workspace
Actually this number denotes the Number of mails can be sent per 24 hour for the workspace,It may exceeded.
It may be the reason.

Hello, did you ever get an answer to your question? I just picked up a Jawbone Era and using on an iPhone 4s running 5.0.1. Seems to work fine on regular calls, but not on the built in Voice memos application. It worked fine on my older Jawbone Icon, but haven't tested on the 4s or iOS 5.

Check if you have 10 Devices registered.
If you have, you need to delete one of them to add your new Smart Phone to Exchange for synching
Check the "Last Sync Time" to indicate if this device is still active or not.

Addressbook synching would be through your iCloud account. It has nothing to do with Safari.

I have a macbook and I just upgraded to Lion upgraded my iTunes software also setup a gmail acct in addition to my aol acct...just checked diagnostics and the connection doctor says I'm connected with server for both mail systems, but I'm not getting mail

I have a macbook and I just upgraded to Lion, downloaded the new software for Itunes and added a gmail account in addition to my existing aol account. Altho both mail systems are visible in my mail account I'm no longer receiving emails from either account. I checked the mail doctor and both accounts are connected to the server, but I can't figure out why I'm not receiving emails any longer. I'm trying to clean-up my stuff before I add my new Iphone, but I must admit all of this is rather daunting. Also does anyone know when tech support is available? it must be PST cause no one is there at 8AM EST!

It isn't the fw in Network you want o use or look at, that's for something completely different.
My first suspect is the Power Adapter on the LaCie has gone.
At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware>Firewire, what is listed there?

If your Firewire or USB isn't recognizing any device. A solution which has worked for some whose hard drive became invisible in 10.4 was simply to follow these four steps to reset the Firewire/USB bus:
1. Shut the machine down.
2. UNPLUG the power lead to the computer and any firewire/USB drive or devices.
3. leave it for 10 minutes.
4. Connect back up and reboot.

Excuse me for bothering you again.
Due to time limited, I would like to know how to cooperate the current mail system with Sun Java Commnication Suite 5. I mean I would like to use current mail system (mailscanner + postfix + courier-IMAP + clamav + spamassassin + webmail) and use the outlook connector to connect to Sun Java COMMS 5 to share the calendar, contacts only.
Right now I have done the testing by using outlook, mac mail, thunderbird to share calendar,contacts via Sun Java COMMS 5 in Centos Linux 5.
My plan is as following
1. Sun Java Communication suites 5 server ( I called it comms5 ) will be in DMZ zone and will open the necessary ports in firewall.
2. I will create more than six sub domain name in Sun Delegate server and the necessary accounts within these domain names.
3. All messages will be transmitted via Postfix and clients will retrieve from Courier-IMAP
4. All Clients included other branch offices will use different mail clients to share their calendars, contacts via COMMS5 ( But how will COMMS handle the messages such like invitation ? )
Any suggestions will appreciate.
PS: Is it possible to classify the contacts in outlook address book ?
For example, when user click the receiver, it will show like as following

Also the use of Outlook Connector with a non-Sun IMAP backend isn't supported, nor is the use of a non-Sun IMAP backend possible with UWC.
Right now I have done the testing by using outlook, mac mail, thunderbird to share calendar,contacts via Sun Java COMMS 5 in Centos Linux 5. Once again I should remind you that CentOS is not a supported platform for comm-suite-5

Using iCloud mail in Snow Leopard - AND restoring old mail system

I use Snow Leopard and cannot upgrade to Lion since my MacBook Pro is too old.
Apple discontinued my traditional Mail service last week and said it is now transferred to iCloud.
1. Is there any way I can get my traditional Mail service restored since I like it better than the "improved?" iCloud-based mail service.
2. What I don't like about the new iCloud-based mail service is...
a. Sent mail does not always appear in my Sent folder.
b. When wanting to file a recent mail message away, I have to scroll thru all the folders AND many, many sub-folders. The system does not let me hide the sub-folders so I don't have to scroll so long.
c. It seems as if the iCloud mail speed is much slower than the old non-iCloud mail service.
d. It is very hard to make to Contacts for ease in sending mail
3. IF there is no way to get my traditional mail service restored, is there a way to get the "classic" look if I am forced to use the iCloud mail system?

Quit Mail, Trash this file...
Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.
Then move these files to the Desktop for now...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.recentitems.plist

Reboot & test.
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.

Can't access dot mac sync options in system preferences

I noticed that my iMac (G5 - 10.5) was slowing down horribly. In the Activity Monitor it turned out that the dotmacsyncclient was using up 80-90% CPU. Syncing did work. When I wanted to check to .Mac setting I couldn't get into the Sync page. System Pref just crashed.
So I decided to delete all the sync settings from the Library (SyncServ). After a reboot the system seems to works just fine. The syncclient doesn't use up the cPU anymore so that's good.
But I still cannot access the .Mac sync options. System Prefs keep crashing. So not I cannot reset my sycing preferences!
Anyone has any idea how to solve this?

Well, it's nice to know that I'm not alone in this issue too. This started cropping up after the last major update to Leopard. I cannot reset .Mac sync services either in System Preferences or through the icon in the uppper right hand bar of the screen. Each time gets me a spinning beach ball which hangs the system and causes me to do a Force Quit.
Force Quit always shows it to be a non-responsive program. All other aspects are fine. I've even gone into iSync and reset the preferences there with no apparent change. I have no ideas on this one and have been searching for an answer myself - hopefully someone (or Apple) will have one...crash logs are not giving me anything to point to either...
