Syncing video podcast

Hello,
I downloaded the free video podcast "Presentation Slide Makeovers" from iTunes and have not watched any episodes.
I would like to upload all of the 34 episodes onto my iPhone.
There is enough room on my iPhone, but only 6 episodes uplodad when I sync.
Currently, my settings are:
- I have all the episodes of "Presentation Slide Makeovers" checkmarked;
- I have checkmarked: Sync Podcasts, "Automatically include ALL episodes of Selected Podcasts." I have "Presentation Slide Makeovers" selected.
I have the latest versions of MacOS, iTunes and iPhone software.
Why do only 6 episodes appear on my iPhone? What am I doing wrong?
Thank you.
Joe

  • IPod Classic will not download/sync Video Podcasts

I have an 80G iPod Classic. It has worked great for the last two years. All of a sudden, it will not download or sync video podcasts that I have downloaded directly from iTunes. I have done everything I can think of to fix this problem to include restoring the factory settings. Does anyone have a fix for this problem?

  • Syncing video podcasts

When syncing my video podcasts, I have 8 that says they are not compatible with my iPod Touch G2. They are all MP4 files, and the only thing that I can tell that differentiates them from other podcasts that DO sync are that when look at "Get Info", the bad ones have H.264 codec, and the good ones have MPEG-4 codec.
Upon reading other threads in the forum, I thought maybe the resolution might be an issue, but they are all 320x240. The bit rates seem to be on par with the ones that do sync. They all play in iTunes just fine, and there is no option to "convert to iPod/iPhone".
Any ideas on how I can get these to sync?

This has been an eternal mystery to me. Why do my videos play just fine on my laptop, even thru iTunes, yet won't download? Why can't iTunes let me know that when I add them to my library? Why doesn't iTunes give me better error messages when it can't do stuff?
I had some luck with those types of videos by asking iTunes to convert them. Select the video, then look in the Advanced menu for "Convert to iPod or iPhone". If it's available, use it. Maybe that will help. About 2/3 of the time I tried it, iTunes locked up and I had to force-quit... but it worked a couple of times.
    Good luck!

  • Syncing Video podcasts, watched episodes coming up as new?

Hi all, have the new iphone 3g and have one very annoying problem. I've done a search and can't find any solutions. Is this a known problem from apple?
I subscribe to several video podcasts. I watch them on my iphone and then after doing a sync, they show back up on my iphone as unwatched. This is really annoying as when I got to watch some again I have to go through all these episodes I've already watched.
I've tried different settings in the podcast sync settings as "all new" or "3 most recent new" but still the source of the problem seems to be itunes will mark these watched episoded as unwatched.
Can anyone help me? I'm running latest version of Itunes and Iphone firmware.

Anyone know how I can fix this? Its driving me mad!

  • Unable to sync video podcast to ipod classic

I have subscribed to a video podcast "Walk in the Word".  The very first one sync'd to my ipod.  Ever since, they download to my itunes library just fine, but they will not sync to my ipod classic 160gb. I have talked to tech support and have deleted the podcasts and redownloaded.  Refreshed the podcasts, deauthorized and reauthorized  and have up to date software.  Still won't sync.  I have gone into the podcast inquiry to "report a concern", perhaps there is an encoding issue with
the podcast producer.  Does anybody have any suggestions that may help?  Thank you

I think I may have found the problem. Apparently, ITunes cannot sync HD podcasts. Apple...why???

  • Trouble Syncing Video Podcasts the way YOU Want It.

Okay lets say I have 5 most recent episodes of the NBC Nightly News video podcasts -- each are 120MB in size. I only want the NEW episodes synced into my iPod Nano so I go to the iPod settings and configure the podcasts to sync only NEW episodes. In my iTunes, it currently shows 1 of the 5 episodes that is marked NEW. After syncing my iPod, I find that 600 MB of video (meaning all 5 episodes) is in my iPod -- when I had set it to sync only NEW episodes. I disconnect my iPod and I find that only the unplayed episode is visible.
This bug also applies if I set my iPod to sync only unplayed episodes -- even if I play the last 4 oldest episodes on my MacBook (which would register in iTunes that it has been played), iTunes would still sync all 5 into my iPod. This bug also applies if I set my iPod to sync only the 1 most recent episode.
Discuss? Any solutions? Or could this be an iPod nano problem?

  • Touch syncs video podcast by wifi, but NOT by Mac itunes transfer

Trying to sync a video podcast from iTunes. (Brigitte Dale)
Oddly enough it downloads if selected through iTunes on the iTouch (2.2).
But gives the error about not transferring with Mac iTunes (v 8.0.2).
    The videos are 28.49 fps, mpeg-4 (perian) 424 x 318 millions. about 2400 kbits/sec
    Files are MOV.
Convert to IPOD format not available from right-click.
Selecting it in the advanced menu has no effect.

You are correct about things not adding up.
My ipod touch weirdly doesn't show up on the desktop or on itunes BUT it will always launch iphoto and ask if I want to download the two photos (which I downloaded from iphoto INTO the ipod, go figure).
Photos copy only one way - iTunes to iPod. Not the other way around. Could it be that your iPod is being treated as camera? You can disable your computer from recognizing the touch as a camera. See this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1501
I have been synching my podcasts by using our house's wireless.
Wireless syncing is not supported. You can connect to iTunes and download, but you can't sync with your computer wirelessly.
As far as iTunes not recognizing your touch, a piece of software - Apple Mobile Device Services - needs to be operating correctly. See this article for help on troubleshooting problems: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747

  • Why will video podcasts no longer sync to my ipod?

I used to be able to watch video podcasts on my iPod nano (5th generation).  Then, one day it stopped syncing them to the iPod.  I think an error message came up saying that my iPod didn't support the videos anymore (something about HD).  I assumed that the video podcast had switched to a higher definition podcast, but the video quality appears to be the same when I play them on my computer.  What's more confusing is that when I check which podcasts are being synced, the video podcasts still say they are being added to the device, but they never show up.  Furthermore, I try draging the file manually to the iPod, but nothing happens (not even an error message saying I can't copy that file to the device).

I think so.  I'm pretty sure I've updated 2 versions of iTunes since it stopped working.  I don't remember if one of those updates was right when it stopped working or not.

  • Can I sync my Nano 6G and an iPod 5G, and keep video podcasts off my Nano?

Can I use my Macbook to sync both a Nano 6G and an iPod Touch 5G, and specify which podcasts go on which device?  I don't want video podcasts on my Nano.
    Thank you.

Yes. How you configure podcasts to sync to one device (from under each iPod's Podcasts configuration tab in iTunes) will not affect how the configuration settings of the other.

  • Old and new video podcasts no longer sync and play

Since updating Itunes and software on my Ipod classic, the ipod no longer plays video podcasts. I know there was a problem with newer podcasts in HD and so on, but even the old format doesn't play.
    can anyone help?

In your subject heading you say the Podcasts do not sync. Are you saying they don't play +because they have not synced?+
If so, when you plug your iPod into your computer, check the settings on the Podcasts pane/tab. Are they still set the way you want them? Software upgrades have been know to cause these settings to be changed.

  • Video podcasts no longer sync with iPod Touch

I am using latest version of iTunes 10.1.1 (4) and latest os 10.6.5 on MacBook Pro with iPod Touch (gen 3). I subscribe to a video podcast and in beginning it worked, but for last 2 months though they download into iTunes and I can watch them, they are either not syncing to my iPod or I cannot find them. Before they were in Podcast list along with audio podcasts.

Yeah I noticed some videos we'rent syncing to my iPod 5th Gen now that I switched to Mac, and reformatted my iPod, and was reminded that some items wouldn't transfer. These were certain podcasts, as well as a HD TV Show Episode. (I thought HD TV show purchases came with a SD version for iPod, but maybe it got lost in the transfer or I deleted it sometime)....but WHATEVER:
If you want, you can convert any video file to a format that fits iPod/iPhone, or even iPad/Apple TV, here's how:
Select the video item(s) you wish to make a compressed version for, and click ADVANCED on the menu bar. Then select "Create iPod/iPhone Version" or "Create iPad/Apple TV Version" depending on what you are syncing too. If these options are greyed out, it means it is not necessary to do this as those devices already can support the file as is. iTunes will then convert, and presto, you have a copy which will go onto your device!

  • 5th Gen iPod Video not syncing all video podcasts

My 5th Gen iPod video is not syncing all of my video podcasts.
I did specify in the settings to sync all videos, but for some reason it only places 3 of each on the iPod. This is using the latest version of iTunes, OS X 10.4.8, and iPod up-to-date.
This did work fine with the previous version of iTunes and only seemed to happen since the "upgrade".
I've tried restoring the ipod - didn't work
    Reinstalled iTunes - didn't work
    Rebooted system - didn't work
    Undocked/Redocked iPod - didn't work
    Please Help.

Assuming you're running iTunes 7, connect the iPod and wait for it to appear in the iTunes source list. When it does, click on it, and click on the 'podcast' tab. Make sure it is set to sync all podcasts. Check the 'video' tab as well.
iTunes 7 included several new options for setting just how the iPod will update in iTunes. So, it's a good idea to go through them and make sure they're set exactly how you'd like them to be.
    Hope this helps

  • 5th Gen ipod won't sync a video podcast

    I have a 80GB iPod, only a month and a half old, 5th Gen.
Thing is, I downloaded 5 video podcasts today, all from the same author.
One of these podcasts WILL sync onto my iPod, however the other four won't, saying that the video format isn't supported, when all five videos have the same format and type.
I have tried everything from renaming them to converting them and still nothing works.
    Can anyone please help? :]

I am having the same problem. The difference is that mine was syncing and then suddenly it won't sync anymore. Hope someone answers your question.

  • Videos and video Podcasts won't sync anymore to iPod

I have a 5th generation 30G Video iPod and used to have all the same videos and video Podcasts playing just fine on my iPod. I reinstalled Mac OS X on my Macbook and added all the videos and videoPodcasts back to my iTunes library and while they play in iTunes just fine they don't sync to iPod anymore... The error message says:
'Some of the videos in your iTunes library, including video "..." were not copied to the iPod " X " because they cannot be played on this iPod.'
And as said - in the past these same videos and video podcasts were playing just fine on this very same iPod... Can anyone help?
All the audio library is being synced and plays perfectly well on iPod. And games too.

Andrew, have you tried re-installing QuickTime? That might fix it. Download it from Apple:

  • Video podcasts won't sync to iPhone

Got a confusing problem here, with a MacBook Pro (up to date on all software) and a new iPhone 3GS.
I can download and play video podcasts within iTunes on my Mac. However, they will not sync from iTunes to my iPhone, even after I use the "Create iPhone version" command and it spends ten minutes converting them. iTunes gives the error that the video cannot be played on my iPhone, so it's not going to transfer it.
Here's the confusing part: if I use iTunes on the iPhone itself (not on the Mac), I can download and play those very same video podcasts successfully. Huh? How come they work fine on my iPhone when downloaded directly to it, but not when downloaded via my Mac?
Any suggestions? FYI, here is one of the videos in question:
    http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?i=56243345&id=2965 02584

I've been having the same problem: video podcasts contained in playlists are skipped over the the sync process. (These same video podcasts will sync fine if I choose something like "sync only the 5 most recent episodes of the selected podcasts." The trouble is, I've just started watching a long video podcast and would like to watch it from the beginning rather than from the end.
Any advice... short of deleting all but the desired episodes and then slowly re-downloading them as needed?
