Syncing with BT Yahoo

I am trying to sync mail on my iPhone 3GS with my BT Yahoo account. I can do this OK. However, I also have the BT mail synced with my desktop Outlook client. I cannot find a way to push BT mail to BOTH Outlook and the iphone. It seems that whichever gets in first removes the message from the server so it is not available to the other. I can manage if I turn off Outlook while I am out away from home but this means that others cannot read mail at home while I am away. Any advice please?

Set your BT Email Account up as IMAP instead of POP3, and then the messages will be left on the server for any devices to access equally. All your mail will be in sync no matter where you access it from.

I Tunes 7.5.0.20 will no longer allow me to sync with my yahoo account

I am baffled by the fact that all my syncing functions work except my yahoo account. When i click on the Info tab and check the Sync Contacts Box, nothing shows up in the list of accounts to sync with. HELP i need this to work right away.

The only list of accounts I see is down in the mail accounts section. These only tell iTunes which accounts to copy from the computer to the phone and have nothing to do with Yahoo (unless it is a paid account)
To get a Yahoo account set up on the phone you need to add it from settings > mail > add Ymail!.
On a Mac to sync the address book contacts there is a checkbox at the bottom of the Contacts section that says "Sync Yahoo! Address Book contacts (Configure...)". On a PC you select the drop down under contacts and select Sync Contacts with: (Yahoo Address Book (select from drop down)) (Configure...).
There is no list of accounts. You have to hit your the "Configure..." button and put in your Yahoo account name and password.

I get this error with iCal "generates a conflict" when synced with my Yahoo calendar. Help Please

I updated to Maverick "Mistake" and have been getting this error since "generates a conflict" with the new iCal and my Yahoo calanders. There werent any problems before the update. Any suggestions as to how to fix it ? Does anyone know how to go back to the last version of iCal ?

Given that the calendars are hosted by Yahoo, I would remove the accounts, then re-add them back.
That shouldn't lose anything, but I don't use Yahoo so I can't say for sure. They use a standard CalDAV server, so all should be ok.

My Yahoo account on my cell phone isn't synced with my Yahoo account on my desktop

I send emails from my desktop and later on, I want to review them on my cellphone and I'm unable to locate the email on my cell. Same with sending an email via cellphone and then not having them listed in my Yahoo account on my desktop.

Pamela5657, being able to stay connected while on the go is definitely the idea of having a smartphone such as the Samsung S5. I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with viewing email on both the device and the website. We have the solution that will fix this for you right away. You can set your email account on your phone to be able to leave your email messages on the server. Pre email push not syncing with Yahoo Mail or google cal after HP shut down

HI. I have a Palm Pre, and while I knew services going through Palm would be dead after the shut down, I assumed anything that was a direct email push through my cell phone carrier or WIFI would be fine.
I have however suddenly lost email sync with my Yahoo account, google calendar sync (thought the gmail sync works) and Outlook calendar sync through Chapura sync manager.
Is this a coincidence? Is there something I can do to fix this? It makes no sense that services that have nothing to do with Palm should cease to work!

I have set up the account using the iPhone's preset service - which I think means it's an exchange account.
This means the account was created as an IMAP account with Push access for received messages.
Surely I'm not supposed to close Mail down in order to receive push notifications? And if so, what does that means for Facebook, eBay etc?
No you are not. With an account that supports Push access for received messages with Push access enabled for the account with the account settings on the iPhone, when a new message is received at the incoming mail server the incoming mail server "pushes" the message out automatically without having to check the account for new messages - automatically or manually, which is called fetch.
Removing the Mail app from the fast app switching or recently used apps bar does not quit the app. It removes the app from the fast app switching or recently used apps bar only. The iPhone has supported multitasking since day one with included apps. Removing the Mail app, the Messages app, and the Phone app from the fast app switching/recently used app bar does not quit these apps. These apps are always running in the background so to speak in a suspended or frozen state.
Yahoo has had on and off again problems with this since day one 3&1/2 years ago.

Events made on iPad calendar (through my yahoo account) don't sync with yahoo calendar on the Web. I'm on latest iOS both on iPad and iPhone4. Any ideas?

I am a PC user so cannot help with your Mac interfaces. I can sync (crudely) my Windows 7 Address book with iTunes. But, I cannot sync my Windows Mail or Calendar with iTunes (unless I have Microsoft Exchange).
Microsoft Exchange is not available to me. This is why I use the iPod to sync with to Yahoo for email and Calendar.
The best I can tell, iTunes does NOT support an interface with Yahoo.

Contacts Won't Sync with Yahoo

I can't get Contacts on my Pre to sync with my Yahoo account. The contacts I already have on Yahoo will download to the phone, but any new ones that I create on the phone will not upload to Yahoo, no matter how many time I try to sync them. In fact, when I create a new contact on the phone, my Yahoo account doesn't even appear in the drop-down menu next to the name. The user guide says that if an account doesn't appear, then you can't assign the contact to it, but doesn't tell you why the account doesn't show up or how to fix it. I have deleted and re-entered the account twice now, but that doesn't help. When I go to the Login Settings the username field is filled in, but the password is always empty. I type my password and click "Sync Now", it successfully logs in and tells me the sync was successful, but the new contact still doesn't appear in Yahoo. When I try again, the password field is once again empty.
I only have this problem with Contacts. My Yahoo Calendar syncs just fine with the phone. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi micromarcs,
The good news is, you're not doing anything wrong. The bad news is that Yahoo Contacts are a one way sync from Yahoo to the phone. If you want to add contacts to your Yahoo account, you'll have to do so from the web browser. If you go to http://m.yahoo.com from your phone, you can go to the Address Book site and manage your contacts from there.

IPhone Calendar Syncing with Yahoo

Hello. I can't get my iPhone calendar to sync with my Yahoo calendar. HELP! I can input information into Yahoo and it shows up on my phone. But if I put a date into my iPhone, it does not show up on my Yahoo calendar. Any ideas? Thank you!

The odd thing is that my yahoo email account syncs just fine although that same account's calendar won't sync.

Address book sync with Google broken?

I've been having a hard time getting the address book to sync cleanly with my Gmail account. I'm using a standard Gmail account (not Google Apps), which seems to be supported. I set this up by going into the address book preferences, checking the box for "Synchronize with Google" and putting in my username/password. It seems to accept the login information.
At first, I wasn't able to get it to sync at all, even when I manually clicked the sync button on the menu bar. Sometimes, when I would go back into preferences, the "Synchronize with Google" box would be unchecked. So I'd check it again, then a few minutes later it would be unchecked again.
Somebody suggested also setting it up to sync with a Yahoo! account, so I tried that and it worked. Once I configured it to sync with a Yahoo! account, it successfully sync'd to my Gmail account.
However, it still doesn't work a lot of the time. Sometimes it syncs, sometimes it doesn't. I don't get any error messages, it just doesn't do anything. And sometimes I still go back into preferences and find the box unchecked again.
I've also found a problem where after my initial sync with Gmail, it detected two conflicts, but I can't seem to resolve them. When I click "Review conflicts now" nothing happens. Then when I sync again, I'm told there are two conflicts. But I'm never shown what those conflicts are, and the "Review conflicts now" option never seems to work.
Gmail syncing works perfectly on my iPhone using Activesync, but it hardly works at all on OSX which is really strange and frustrating.

HT4191 I have lost several days notes with the note app. What could be the issue? I have attempted to sync with my email account but noticing appears in my email. I thought this would act as a backup. Also how do I verify where the notes were being saved

I keep losing notes once I've added them. I don't know how to confirm where they are being stored. I'm wondering if the storage could be full. Also tried to sync with my yahoo account thinking that might help. But not sure how I get existing notes to sync with the account....they didn't show up once I turned that feature on.

TS4009 I need to get a message to Apple, iCloud...having so many problem with it. I just went in and deleted all of my iCloud emails, that just stay stuck there. What has happened now is that it was synced with Yahoo. I've lost all my yahoo mess. HELP!

I am so sorry that I ever signed up for iCloud. The only thing that ever worked is that I had two messages drop into iCloud when there was an open wifi connection. It is synced with Yahoo. It was taking up so much space as I had a lot of attachments, nothing sent, they just sat there, I had to cut and paste them into my Yahoo! account and send them.
Last nigth were were looking at the reason that my brand new Mac Air had ZERO memory. It was the iCloud messages that were stuck. I then went in and deleted everything. I have tried to turn iCloud off via a pull down menu. Did not work. I have now lost all of my sent and received messages in my Yahoo Account. My inbox is completely empty. I believe I still have sent messages though. These were messages that I had cut and pasted into Yahoo! to get them sent. Now my Yahoo! is wiped out.
I am a writer. I need those messages recovered. I am an end user. I need instructions in English on how to recover this. If there is anyone that can help me, I am desparate. I imagine Apple could retrieve them for me though there is no where to contact them.

Lord K. Thank you. Yes I am within the 90 time period, however I travel Intertionally and I can not receive not make a call to Apple. I was just at the Genius Bar in Chicago and they said, don't worry about it. It just floats out there, however, I can not recover my messages on a flash drive. I need to go back to my old computer which I don't have with me. My messages were in folders for a lawsuit. It is going to take an incredible amount of work for me to, you have no Idea. We are talking thousands of pages! I the defendent will have them during discovery so I am not so worried. However, I can not bring them to him on a Flashdrive when I meet with him without an extraordinary amount of presssure on my part. THis is not just some little email issue. This is suing EXPEDIA and Tripadviosr.com

YAHOO CALENDAR NOT SYNCING WITH IOS5

After upgrading to IOS5, I cannot get my phone to sync with Yahoo's calendar. The e-mail and contacts are fine, but I've tried every which way I can think of, including using the cloud, and can not get it to work. It was working fine with the old operating system.

This is a problem with Yahoo! Not with your phone or settings. I've been waiting for them to sort this out but decided to switch over to the Google calander instead of putting my life on hold. If you want to do this set up a gmail account for a calander. Go to your yahoo calander on line. Click on your calander title (eg. Bill's calander) then select edit calander export it as an iCal file to your desktop. Go back to google calendar and import the file you saved on the desktop. Your calander will now transfer to google. You will need to edit your all day events (google calander will assume they run from midnight to midnight) but once you have done this set up calander sync on your iPhone via gmail, dump the calander sync from yahoo and your up and syncing over the air again.

Error syncing with Yahoo

Until a couple of weeks ago everything was fine and I was able to do a sync everyday with my Yahoo calendar and address book....now I get "Yahoo sever is not accessible, try to again in a few minutes:.
It has been weeks and I can't sync. I checked for info on Yahoo and it says that Intellisync is not supported by Yahoo. How can I get Yahoo to sync with my BB?
