Syncing with pocketmac

I am a newbie BB user and a dedicated Mac user as well.  I have read the post on Tour and Mac and was able to sync my BB to my mac once.  After that pocketmac just freezes on the last 5% or so of the sync.
I also tried the googlesync app and it deleted about 20 of the contacts from my address book.  I really don't care about the google sync, though, as I am more concerned about just getting my Ical to sync with my shiny new Tour.
 Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having a similar problem.  I can't get the PocketMac for Blackberry to sync my iCal which is the only thing I am trying to sync at the moment.  I get the error that says "PocketMac SyncManagerOEM Warning: [12:29:24.341] Unable to conncet to Blackberry (error 1); skipping."
I have uninstalled the software and downloaded again as well as downloading the driver update.  Not sure what else to do at this point.  I am trying to sync via the USB port.

  • Are you having problems syncing with Pocketmac, Missing Sync or Media Sync? Here's what I did...

Just throwing this out there as a solution that worked for my situation. It may not work for everyone's needs.
After NUMEROUS emails back and forth with Pocketmac support I was finally told that Pocketmac will not work if Media Sync is also installed. It causes the "Error 1 Skipping" problem due to a USB driver conflict. So I tried Missing Sync's free trial. No good. It would not sync either, so paying money for the non trial version wasn't going to happen.
So, I ended up keeping Media Sync to keep my iTunes library synced and I started to use a wonderful little free app called "Google Sync". It works beautifully for my needs. It runs in the background (with no negative effect to the BB's performance or battery life) and automatically syncs your gmail contacts and google calendar to your BB device. If you change something on either the BB itself or online, google sync catches it and updates the other accordingly.
So if your sick and tired of messing around with Pocketmac and Missing Sync, give Google Sync a try. I love it!

it was only burning at 4x even though 47x was requested.
That's a issue discussed in the past.
It turns out that 8X DVD burning means about 47X CD burning - you were requesting 8X DVD but only got 4X DVD burning.
I haven't seen it discussed anymore so maybe Apple got around to eliminating that 'quirk' in terminology.
I suspect some of the early 8x DVD burners didn't perform as advertised. I'm glad your new 16X burner is working for you.

  • Losing calendar data in Entourage when sync with PocketMac on Blackberry

I have been using PocketMac with my Blackberry Pearl to sync with Entourage. During the last sync I lost all my calendar items in Entourage but they are all still on the Blackberry. I tried the sync again and I can't seem to get my Blackberry to put these items on the Mac. What am I missing?

"What is 6 of 16 that is locking up, I don't believe it is datebook and if that is the case you can disable that conduit temporarily so you can sync your datebook over, if it is datebook, then I would try a program called dbfixit you can get it from www.pimlicosoftware.com I don't know about dbscan and how well it is, but I find dbfixit to be a wonderful tool to find any corruption. "
Well, I don't know.  I am assuming it is 6 of 16 files that need to be synced.  I'm just telling you what the hotsync window says at the point that it locks up.
How do I disable the conduit and still have the datebook sync?  If it's disabled, how would it sync at all?  I have set the datebook to "do nothing" and the other applications sync just fine, but not datebook.
I will try the dbfixit as long as you can assure me it won't erase data.  Thank you

  • Sync with PocketMac for BB error

I have the latest version of the PocketMac yet when I try to sync I get the "Error 1" message saying "Unable to Connect with BB; skipping.  Don't know what to do?  BB is connected by USB cable.  I am a new user and the BB is 8330C.

I have a Pearl 3G and have had similar problems each time there is an update/upgrade. The one I downloaded and installed this week took a long time, but then the first synchronization would not stop. I eventually had to force it to stop, generating errors. I've had this before.
What I've done previously is cumbersome.
I start with turning off automatic sync.
I turn off sync for most items (contacts, tasks, etc.) and leave only calendars.
I generally have to over-write all the calendar entries on the device or the sync appears to go on forever (hours, even overnight).
I generally start with over-writing only future events, then check the box to include some new and old, increase the new and old range, then eventually sync everything in the calendar. --- Each step requires an additional manual sync.
I then start to sync Contacts, Notes, etc.
BUT ... and this is the very frustrating part ... I have to address up to hundreds of conflicts. This is the part that makes no sense.
I'd like some help and answers on this topic too.

  • 8330 alltel curve won't sync with PocketMac, even after driver update

Sooo I have a blackberry curve 8330 I recently got through Alltel. I
installed PocketMac twice now, and was reading all about the FAQ's and
tech. support and it's not recognizing my blackberry. I tried syncing
and it said the "error 1: skipping" thing. I also downloaded the
"driver update" and it's still doing the same thing. It shows my phones
like charging when it's plugged in but I can't sync it. This is my
    first blackberry and I'm confused.
    Can someone help me, please?
And, does anyone know what "Enterprise Activation" is?
    Thanks

I also had problems syncing my 8330 Blackberry with my Mac with a program called PocketMac and after installing and reinstalling the program several times and syncing for hours on end (the program was just sitting their), I also spent $49.95 for PocketMac Tech Support. Still no results. I did a little more research and I found a program that I thought was easy to install as long as you follow the simple instructions and it worked great, the program is The Missing Sync for Blackberry Version 2.0.1. it cost $39.95 it is available at www.markspace.com.

  • Blackberry sync with pocketmac

pocketmac does not work with the intel macs. They claim there is a mistake in Apple's programing in regards to the USB. Everything else I have on USB works fine on the intel imac. Does anyone know of a problem with the USB, or is this just a universal issue that pocketmac is trying to fully blame on Apple?

    Melanie,
On March 23rd, then this thread was created, there was no universal version of Pocketmac available.
    Now there is.
Also, no Blackberry will sync via Bluetooth on the Mac. This isn't a limitiation of Pocketmac, or Apple. It's a limitation of the Blackberry itself. RIM has disabled the bluetooth serial profiles which would be necessary for any data transfer via Bluetooth.
Bluetooth sync currently only works with Blackberry devices on Windows, with a very specific software setup.

I have a Blackberry 8330 and a MacBook. For some reason I started having connectivity issues. The handheld will not sync with the computer via pocketmac. I have uninstalled, etc 15 times. Please help

    Hi Peter!
I'm sorry to read that you are having issues with your Sync account.
Your best bet is to follow the steps described in this blogposts and open a bug:
    https://philikon.wordpress.com/2011/06/13/how-to-file-a-good-sync-bug/
After that, if you don't want to user Sync in your computer, you can stop it with this simple steps:
    * At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options.
    * Once the options window opens, click on the Sync tab.
    * At the bottom of the Sync tab click on '''Deactivate this Device''' link

  • Sync iCal to Bberry curve with PocketMac

Imported calendar from Palm to iCal smoothly. Synchronized iCal to Bberry Curve with PocketMac 4.1. Every addition made in the desktop gets added to the Bberry but any deletions do not get synchronized. Ditto for the Bberry. Any deletions made do not get synchronized on the desktop. All entries and changes appear to be permanent, making the software unusable. Anybody? Using 10.5.5

I apologize for the several post. I'll go ahead and assume I accidentally submitted my response because I know my iPhone 4 is infallible. Anyways, and in a nutshell: Apple likes competition and has made it a company of quality. That being said, Apple has thought ahead of the more simple todo sync via wired connection. The wired connection for a todo is not a good idea. Do you realize how inconvenient it would be to have to sync your iTunes everyday or every moment the list is updated? Thus, Apple worked with Google (this may be inaccurate) to have an IMAP server sync in your mail program. You should see in your IMAP folders, using gmail, "Apple Mail To Do". It will sync your todos with gmail immediately. The setup is annoying though, and some people just want a list with colors and all of that. This is where the app store comes in. I have a to do app that is by far the most sophisticated yet simple program that sync via WebDAV (I think?) or either bonjour. It's called iPronto You have to be on the same network to sync wirelessly to your comp, assuming you have an OSX (a Mac). I hope I was clear. (This was sent from my iPhone, ha)

  • First sync with desktop manager for mac: only 300 contacts synced instead of the 1100

    I have a Curve 8310. version 4
I have a brand new mac with NO CONTACTS or calendar.
I have preciously very successfully synced with my windows computer for 2 years.
I have just tried for the first time to sync with desktop manager,.only 315 contacts synced of the 1100.
The apple  people recommend using Mark/Space" missing Sync" but I am reluctant to do this as the reviews are mixed.
    Help?

    Hi there.
Have been using my BB Pearl 8100 on and off since Oct 08.
I have successfully synced with a Vaio (XP Pro) using BBDM (up to version 4.6) as well as iMac OS 10.5.8 using PocketMac for BB v4.1 and now BBDM for Mac. Have synced with iCal, Mail, Contacts (albeit 647)
PocketMac can be a little temperamental, but not that much of a prob as when i downloaded it was free (shareware) and the only alternative was Missing Sync.

  • Can anyone tell me, should the bold sync with a Mac, Entourage 2008?

I'm having load of problems with pocketmac, their support is not the best at getting back to you fast and I am really losing a lot of time on this now.
just wondering, should I be syncing no probs with the following:
    Macbook Pro?
    Entourage 2008?
    Blackberry Bold?
    thanks

I just found out the hard way (after well over an hour on the phone--the first day after my new Bold arrived) that Blackberry's software development is aware of a known synch issue between later 2008 Macbook Pro's and the new Bold.  Apparently, when apple updated their fiber optic (?) connections in their usb's, it caused an 'issue' which creates the errors between Entourage & the device. My Macbook Pro is not the brand new one--it's the revision that came out in August. I'm sure the issue is the same for the latest version of the MacBook Pro too. It also keeps itunes from synching. No known fix yet.  Missing Synch software will not fix it either.  I was told 'check back in a couple weeks' which means my new Bold is not looking so bold at the moment.  If you have an OLDER mac and/or OLDER Blackberry, you should be ok. I know that from a programmer's perspective, 'newer' is harder to account for, but good grief.  I hate spending a premium for latest gear and having it 'unknown' in terms of when it will actually be supported properly. And it's not like they exactly rushed the 9000 to market.

Any comment or suggestion for an alternate way for do it is welcomed. Even if I need to change to another email cliente

Since this question is about a Microsoft product, you might have more luck getting suggestions if you ask in Microsoft's own forums.

  • AT&T phone that will sync with iCal

I am looking for an AT&T phone that will sync with iCal (that is not an iPhone) that also does not require a data plan. Are there any options available to me? Or is there some kind of plug-in or application that would make this possible? Thanks!

    Greetings,
I can think of a couple ways to go about finding the answer to your question.
    1. Contact AT&T Tech Support and ask them if they have any handsets on which they support calendar syncing to Mac OS X.
    2. Find a phone on their website which you like and then contact the phone manufacturer to see if they support calendar syncing (The manufacturer is the one most likely to know as they are the ones who make the device and the software which would be required to do the syncing).
    3. Check the list of supported devices for 3rd party syncing software to see which devices are supported and then see if any of those devices are available on AT&T's network.

  • Blackberry Storm 9530 sync with Ical?

Does anyone know how to sync their blackberry storm with their ical or entourage calendar 2004? I can't. Is it even possible?

After spending hours with 'pocketmac' and the 'missingsync' getting nowhere with trying to synce my BB Bold with my Mac I stumbled across Google! If you open an account with them (free) you have the ability to upload your mac calendar and you address book will sync with google from the address book preferences. After you have uploaded what you need you can then use "google sync" to transfer your calendar and address book to your BB. The calendar does not sync with your mac and you will have to edit it online but you can periodically upload a new vCal file onto the google calendar. This is by far and away the best and free way to get mac info into a BB. It's not perfect but oh so much better than the offical options available.
The only other true way to achieve sync is to boot into windoze and buy outlook. Then everything works perfectly, but who want's to do that? Take a look at the google option, it's the best I've found so far after HOURS of messing around with the other sync apps!

  • Can a BlackBerry with Bluetooth sync with an iMac?

I am considering getting a Bluetooth cell phone, possibly a BlackBerry Pearl, and wanted to know if they can sync with my iMac?

    Hi Steve,
Do you have experience of PocketMac? Unfortunately I paid for PocketMac Pro (which is for PocketPC devices rather than for BlackBerry). In 15 months of PocketPC ownership I never once achieved anything close to a full sync. I ended up re-installing Tiger twice on my Powerbook, recreating all my calendars in Entourage and then again in iCal all to no avail. Their support was unhelpful. I was unable to un-install PocketMac Pro properly even after digging around in System > Library and Library because it hooks so deeply into the system. Whilst still present on my system (even after the uninstaller was run, it would still obviously be present in iSync and cause iSync to crash). A Tiger re-install seemed to be my only option.
I can't say for sure that PocketMac for Blackberry will be nearly as ineffective in syncing or as bad for the system but I would seriously advise the OP to take a clone of their system before allowing any PocketMac product near OS X and be ready to clone it back to restore normal use.
Personally I swapped to a SonyEricsson mobile phone which syncs perfectly with iSync/iCal/AddressBook and no extras required; of course it's not the email machine the BlackBerry is.
    regards

  • 8330 no sync with macbook

8330 will not sync with macbook.  error message reads "error "skipping", also macbook would not open blackberry cd for installation.  i uninstalled and installed several times but cd still has not opened.  pocketmac claims skipping error has been corrected but it continues to read error and will not sync.
