Syncing with windows media player

Do I have to have my music in itunes or can I sync with the music I have in my windows media player?

You can sync an iPod with WMP using some 3rd party software like XPlay. It's not free software however, so why not use iTunes?

  • Creative Zen V Plus won't sync with Windows Media Player 11?

My Zen V Plus won't synchronize with Windows Media Player . I plug it into the USB, then an error message pops up in WMP that says "WMP has encountered a problem and needs to close" but if I just move the window aside WMP works fine. I then click 'sync" and it says "preparing to sync" but doesnt move beyond that. I have synced with WMP before, this problem has recently started occurring. I have all the firmware updates on my player, I don't know what is causing this problem.

  • I tried to Sync with Windows Media Player, What happend?

I, being the stupid impulsive 17 year old that I am, tried to sync a huge list of songs from my fathers computer(which does not have Itunes) with my Ipod. Well... I thought it had worked, stupid me. To my suprise when I had disconnected my Ipod I found that NONE of the songs appeared on the list and further, when I returned home, I found that my computer (which has both Itunes and Windows Media Player) could not find the songs on the Ipod. Please tell me what Happened!
    Thank You

The iPod cannot be synched to Windows Media Player and in its attempt, it probably corrupted the iPod's database.

  • Ipod accidently synced with Windows Media Player

When I hooked up my Ipod to my Windows computer and had Media Player up and running, it started to sync my files to my ipod....again...even though the same files are already on the ipod from itunes. When i sync my ipod now from itunes, it shows over 3 GB in "other"....the orange colored markings showing double the amount of music i'm supposed to have on there. How can I delete this "other" files from the ipod, which are uselessly taking up space without doing me any good at all?????? PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

Ok, I am definitely very technologically challenged, and I got a nano for christmas, and I have no idea how to get my music files from windows media player to itunes. I use limewire, which then puts all files in Media player, but my roomie accidentally deleted all my music from limewire, so now all that is in my itunes is all the music he downloaded from limewire after he deleted the library. Please help!!! I really wanna use my nano!!
    Thanks

  • BlackBerry not syncing with Windows Media Player

Somehow, my BB doesn't seem to sync with WMP properly, although either my BB or WMP are working normally. The same with the music library. Updated music files or playlists aren't 'recognized' by BB Link, but only the files which were already in my library before.
Cannot sync anything between BB and WMP.
Thanks in advance, I appreciate your kind help!
    Mr. Knox

Did you try clearing the sync relationships and establishing them again?

If you mean you subscribed to iTunes Match, you have to import your music into your iTuens library in order to add it to iTunes Match.  iTunes Match (and iCloud) only works with iOS devices and computers.  It won't work with your iPod Classic; you'll have to sync that with iTunes in order to add your music.

  • N95 sync using windows media player

Hi - when I sync my N95 (with an 8GB disc) with windows media player it no longer copies over the album art to my device, even though I can see it on my PC. This is largely for allbums where I have ripped the CD and  downloaded the media info file from the web.   Has anyone any suggestions?
    TIA
    Mike

There are a couple of things to keep in mind when using WMP.
    1. If WMP "converts" the file before transferring it over then the embedded album art will be lost. This is a bug in WMP and they haven't fixed it. Nothing can be done unless you lower the quality of all the songs so that they are not converted before transfer, so nothing over 256 kbps.
    2. Even if the album art is shown in WMP, that doesn't mean that it's embedded in the file, it may be that WMP has the album art but not the music files. In this case you need to open the Meta Data Editor by right clicking on the file then check if the Album art is set.
Look at some tips on how to work the album art HERE.

  • While installing a program (MediaCenter.exe) to handle audiobooks from the library, I erroneously associated the download site with Windows Media Player instead of the actual application (NetLibrary Media Center). How can I reverse/change this?

While installing a program (MediaCenter.exe) to handle audiobooks from the library, I erroneously associated the download site with Windows Media Player instead of the actual application (NetLibrary Media Center). How can I reverse/change this? Reinstalling the application does not clear the error, so I'm assuming the association is somewhere in Firefox.

Never mind -- I just found it under Tools/Options.../Applications, where I changed the incorrect association of "nlmcp" from Windows Media Player to the correct one, NetLibrary Media Center. Done!
