Syncing zen to pc libr

i see how to sync or transfer files from my pc to zen but how can i do the reverse?

When you have Sync manager up there's a box between the pc and Zen Icons that says Sync direction. The direction of the arrow is the direction of the information. There's a drop down menu and if you choose a dash at the Zen side and an arrow towards the PC you're transferring from the Zen.

i don't think so, they are 2 compeltely different brands just move all files from Dell onto your computer's disk and then from disk onto the ZEN.

How to sync Zen Stone in WMP

Well, I already know it's a UMS not a MTP device, but does it really mean it cannot be synchronized in WMP?
Using WMP on Windows Vista 32bit.

Is the regular Stone in a different protocol than the Stone Plus? My Stone Plus syncs just fine in WMP using Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Zen touch rebuilding libr

I?m having troubles with my Zen touch, when i turn on my zen touch it starts performing the rebulding library procedure, anybody could tell me why, to solve this problem i perform the clean up procedure and then i update the firmware but it doesn?t solve the problem, please tell me how to solve this problem, bye

Agreed, it isn't normal. This is only triggered when the player thinks the library is corrupt.
If you've run through the "My Zen is not starting properly, or goes into rescue mode, what should I do?" procedure in the FAQ post, you might want to resort to a format. Obviously backup the player first.

Zen xtra rebuilding libra

I have a 30 gig zen xtra. I got it in 04 and have had no issues with it. The past week it has been doing this "rebuilding library" after a cold boot (by cold boot I mean it has not been turned on for a day or two and shows the creative labs copyright screen.)After it rebuilds the library it works fine, but I am wondering if it is a sign of something bigger?I have not updated the firmware ever since I have had it the version is .0.0. I recommend any version but the latest.
For the Xtra, avoid it like the plague. I've had nothing but problems... The same problems with two computers and two different Xtras.

Zen Micro: Rebuilding libr

hey
I have been using my zen micro for over a year now, and I never had problems with it 'till last week.
I just connected the zen micro to my computer, and a while later I wanted to plug the zen micro out ... but it said 'rebuilding library'. So now it has been a week and when I insert my batterie of my zen micro it always says rebuilding library, but nothing happens or nothing loads .. can I fix it or ..

Try running the Cleanup option in Rescue mode if you had not done so.

How to Sync two different Zen players with one library?

I have two players; a Zen V Plus 8 gb and a Zen 32 gbMy library is now larger than 8 gbI want to sync the V Plus with a playlist that I define on the PC just for running, and sync the entire library with the ZenHowever I just cannot figure out how to do this using the creativemedia application suppliedI have found out how to transfer a playlist but don't want to do this every time the playlist is changedI cannot find an option to sync just the contents of a playlist, it always wants to sync all the tracks and then returns an error because (of course) the library is bigger than the V Plus! ?Does anyone have any ideasThanks

Use Windows Media Player ?to sync. Each device has it's own sync properties. What you are trying to do is a feature of that software. I do not use the Creative software at all...only the Zencast Organizer (as I needed a podcast aggregator anyway).

I can no longer sync my Zen 32Gb

I can no longer sync my Zen 32Gbb When I hook my Zen up to my computer, it recognizes a charge but the computer no longer sees the Zen. I have been using WMP to sync before (successfully). The SyncManager is also running and it to does not see the device. The Zen itself continues doing what it is doing although it shows the charging icon. I recall that it used to show a different screen when syncronizing. ?I am running Windows XP SP3. I am not sure when it stopped working as I haven't synced in several months. I have been charging it by a charger I bought from Creative. Could it have become confused by this?
The unit of course is 2 months out of warrentee but I did get the extended warrentee at Best Buy if necessary. I don't see any simular issues posted but I may have missed them. Feel free to direct me to those posts if they exist (and hopefully a solution).

Try opening the device manager window and check if the player gets detected once you plug it in. If there is a question mark icon on the ZEN, right click on it and select un-install then disconnect-reconnect the player. Hope this hel

Zen Sync Manager doesn't work with Windows 7

I have a Zen 6GB MP3 player, firmware version .2.03_0.03.0.
I recently upgraded my computer from Windows Vista to Windows 7. Sync Manager (looks like version 6.4.8.0, dated 7/7/2007) worked fine with Vista, and it even worked for a few days after I upgraded, but now it does not recognize that there is a player connected.
Zen Media Explorer still works, so I can drag and drop audio files to the Zen, but this is a bit of a pain. More importantly, I need to find a way to sync organizer (Outlook) data.
I have tried running Sync Manager in various compatibility modes (Vista, XP SP3, XP SP2), but it still will not recognize the player. From something I read in another post in this forum, I'm wondering if I need to uninstall Sync Manager and reinstall it in a compatibility mode? All my other applications work fine with Win 7, so I'm not that familiar with how to use compatibility mode properly.

I tried every which way to solve this problem, and in the end contacted Ctreati've tech support. They advised the following:
"Please be advised that, currently, we do not have Creative Media Explorer (Sync Manager) and firmware updates available for ZEN on Windows 7 OS.
Creative is working constantly on updates for Windows 7 users who are using Creative products. These updates will be deli'vered from time to time on our website. We encourage you to often visit our support site, http://support.creative.com/ and forum page, http://forums.creative.com/ for product updates and announcements."

Please Help! Why does Zen sync automatically when I plug in to char

Everytime I charge the Zen (via USB), it copies all the music so that I have double of each song, etc. I can't find how to change a setting so that it doesn't do that. please help!
Also, is there an easy way to transfer files from a Zen V to the Zen? I've tried plugging in both at the same time and opening the creative media sources for each but dragging and dropping doesn't work. I'm actually interested specifically in copying the
Zen V playlists and their contents so that I don't have to recreate the playlists on the Zen. Most of the music I have managed to copy already (most of it was in the computer from being downloaded, so I could then transferring it to the Zen) but I can't seem to figure out hte playlists or the CD music that was ripped onto the Zen V but not saved on the computer).
I'm new to this discussion group so any help would be so greatly appreciated!

Click on your Sync Manager (the two arrow icon on your taskbar)
Under preferences you will probably see the "check" under "Automatic Sync"
My preference is to have "checked" under "Manual Sync" which prevents the
"automatic sync" from happening on connection unless to
commanded to do so by manually selecting "sync" from the Zen media explorer.
Note: Please click on the help menu under the sync manager icon and read everything.
Note: The default software is set to "automatic sync"? from the factory!
I believe it should be set to the "manual sync" by default.
Before, playing with your sync options and setup backup your media data!
(to CD or flash dri've)
One trick, I use, is to change the sync arrow direction from the Zen to the PC ONLY.
(This prevents double copies of media data)
Since, in most cases, all media data e.g. music and photos are added from the PC to the
Zen device which has a solid-state flash memory, and the only way you can lose your
media data is to have a faulty Zen device. By having the arrow from the Zen to PC,
anytime you manually sync all your media data is copied, in one direction only,
from your Zen to the PC. Then, I backup the folders to a CD or flash dri've.
So, if you destroy you Zen, your media/music/photos will be safe on your PC.
If your PC goes down, then you have your media/music/photos on a CD or flash dri've.
(A double back-up) Just one thing to remember, reverse the arrow direction, if need be,
if you have a "new" / repaired Zen then reverse it back or you will lose your data!
Keep in mind, every so often to manually sync your Zen to the PC so you can have the
latest/current copy of your media data on your PC for backup.
The above information only applies to using the Zen Media Explorer and not the Windows Media Player!

Zen Touch sync and display probl

I left my Touch connected to my PC with WM0 running to convert and transfer tracks to the Touch. When I came back a few hours later the transfer had stopped - incomplete with and error message (didn't make a note of it ).
Now my it is not recognised by my PC. When I plug the USB lead in it is seen and the option window comes up. I click on the sync option and WM fires up but says that it can't find a player atteached. The Touch screen shows that it is docked.
I can't see the player as an external dri've either.
When I play anything on the Touch I can get as far as choosing tracks but as soon as I hit the play button the screen is different from normal. Instread of showing the track details all I get is a notice to "Add music from Library"
I have tried a reset, and rescue mode but they have not helped.
Can anyone give me any advice?

Track count 380.

Sync of Zen with Nissan Quashqui

hello
i have a Nissan Qashqai N-Tec which has a Aux USB connector to allow a device to sync with the stereo. when i connect my Zen to the Aux connector and select Aux on the stereo nothing happens.
has anyone attempted had a simiar issue?
there are 2 connectors either a USB or a 3.5mm jack,
any ideas would be really appreciated

Use the 3.5 jack to connect thru the headphone jack use player as usual.

Sync New Music Libr

Hi, I created a new music library located in a directory in a partitition that is not on the system disk (for space opportunity), when i tried to sync with my Zen Micro the only Music Library in the menu is the default one. Why I can't see the new one?
I also changed the dir of the default music library but when i try to sync the sync manager shows the free space of the original dir and if the file to transfer are more than that space it could not be done... Can you help me to fix it's?

Tthis is a normal warning. HOWEVER .... Is there a reason the current contents can't be recovered? Is the iTunes library the same one you always sync with?
IItunes is designed to change only what you ask it to. If you select "sync music". But do not check "sync apps, movies, etc" then only music will be changed to match the list you have chosen.

Is there any way to use iTunes to sync a Zen NX

As the subject says, is there any way to use iTunes to sync or transfer tracks to a Jukebox Zen NX?

iTunes will only work with Apple players.

Manual Syncing for Zen Vision 60

Hi all
Apologies for the very basic question, I'm not a technically minded lass.
I want to set the transfer software for my Zen to only manually sync, so that I can remove all the music from my laptop (which is struggling to cope with so many MP3's) but can plug the Zen in at a later date to add more music when I want to.
Is this possible? I had no trouble doing it with my Ipod, but this is vexing me.
Any help gratefully received
