Hi all,
Is anyone here familiar with syncML for backing up data off a phone? What software does one need at the server to get it going?

A cgi, a php, a servlet, an asp, etc, etc, etc.
Google for "Java File Upload" and you can find a few examples on how to write the server side (or replace Java with the language of your choice).

We run our web applications on IBM Lotus Notes/Domino server (Version 8.5.3). I need to figure out what is that specific server component that we need to install on our server just to pre-populate data on to the XFA forms. (We don't need to merge PDF files, or attach any workflow, or submit data entered in the XFA forms to any web server.)
I understand that Adobe LiveCycle ES4 is a suite of products that does a lot more than what we need to do. So, in that suit of products which specific product is that we need to buy & install on our server that enables us to use java code to populate data on to the XFA forms. You can certainly use iWork, though I hesitate to recommend it to a seasoned Windows user simply because it would add another level of the unfamiliar with which you would have to gain familiarity. The iWork applications are certainly very competent and in most respects both easy to use and surprisingly powerful. They are not 100% compatible however, though that typically manifests itself in document formatting issues rather than anything more significant.
I have never attempted to import emails from a Windows system into MacOS - other than in Outlook connected to an Exchange server, thus not really an issue at all. I doubt that the Mail app in MacOS can import directly, but of course you could always set the account(s) up on the Mac and then forward emails you want to keep from the PC. Not elegant, but it works. Virtually any Windows document or file, whichever application created it, can be opened or converted for use on a Mac, and using both systems on my desk each day I rarely see any issues switching stuff from one machine to the other. You may stumble over one or two issues, but likely not significant.
In switching platforms there will be some inevitable issues, not so much with being able to import your stuff because there's usually a workaround or a utility that can help, but just with getting familiar with the platform and the differences between Windows and MacOS that can obscure their similarities. From time to time the support community here hears from a user who has found the migration very problematic and regrets it, but for the most part the phrase 'I should have done this years ago...' is rather more prevalent!

If you are talking about iCloud email you shouldn't need to put anything in. Sign in in System Preferences>iCloud and check 'Mail' in the checklist there and it should set it up automatically.

Can anyone tell me what this string is in the server permissions?

Can anyone tell me what the character sting is third from the top?
This is taken from the server app < select the server < storage < then edit permissions.
I feel like this is something simple, but all of my searches have turned up nothing.

Can I remove them from the ACL with no effect to the system?
Is there a more efficient way to do that rather then by each individual folder and file?

I am running a remote powershell command from an IIS application to an Exchange server getting the below error. Everything works fine if the IIS application pool identity is in the local administrators group on the IIS server so we can rule out issues with
firewall or anything on the Exchange server. It is a problem with lack of privileges on the local server.
So my question is: What permissions are required on the local server for RunspaceFactory.CreateRunspace? I find good documentation on the permissions required on the server side, but nothing about the client side.
The last Win32 error code after failure is 1008.

I see that the IIS server has a GPO setting 'Allow log on locally' to the local administrators group for this server. I will order add of the IIS app pool identity to this list.
I tried the process monitor comparing runs with and without the app pool identity as local administrator. The runs are identical up to the point where one does something useful and the other closes 'HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WSMAN'.
There are no failures.
I am not using my runspace objects for multiple threads. I dispose after use.
I will end up with the below if I change. Comments?

What else should go on the server?

Hello Community
    Using Sharepoint 2010 Server 2 server farm, the more RAM the more
you can separate application pools on the Sharepoint server.
    You can also create a partition to put the o/s, Sharepoint and any
other installed software on that one partition and store something else besides
software on the other partition.
    The question is after installing the o/s, Sharepoint and other software
on one partition, what would you store on the other partition on the
Sharepoint Server (keeping in mind SQL Server is on the other server)?

    That is what I am trying to say. I have a 2 server farm, the server with
SQL Server is setup on the different partitions fine.
    On the Sharepoint Server, that is where Windows o/s and Sharepoint are
installed on one partition that I assigned drive letters for them to reside on
while the database and log files reside on their own separate partitions.
    But I don't create the house diagnotic and IIS log files. Since I will eventually
create a BlOB cache I can make the partitions and then when I create the BLOB
cache I will assign it to a drive letter.
    The problem is since I don't create those other files how can I assign a drive
letter to those files so that the system knows which partition to read and write
those file to and from?

How do we control what fields you need in the change log?

Some time ago in an unrelated problem solving activity I came across the configuration screens that controlled what (and if) you could log when changed.
I can not find the place now.
There should be a place in SPRO which allows me to configure that I do not want log of the change in sales orders. It also allows me to choose which fields within the sales orders should be logged. So I could choose (say) to have the logging of quantity changes to be turned off.
Was I dreaming? ... Can someone point me in the right direction?

I have a direction now:
1) Check in the SE11 to ensure that the field that I need the change log for is marked "Change Document" in the Data Element of the field.
2) Check the document object VERKBELEG (Sales Document) to ensure that the table is included in the configuration. Transaction SCDO.
I will experiment with this to find out if this can be done.

What do I need for the best quality external display?

I purchased the Intel i5 15inch Macbook Pro around July this year and I am wanting to use my external ldc monitor, which happens to be a Samsung Syncmaster 226cw, to act as my main display for the system. I tried asking an individual at Best Buy what would be the best quality way to ensure that my Macbook Pro will effectively use my monitor's native max resolution of 1680x1050, and he seemed rather clueless. So here I am. I know there are a lot of other users who have a lot of experience with this sort of thing and I'm placing myself in your hands for help and guidance.

Bit confused, what bios is needed for the MS-6163?

First of all: Sorry to ask this, but I want to be sure I have the right bios and the previous posts weren't really reassuring. Don't want to end up with a dead board..
The motherboard has got MS-6163 Ver: 1 printed on it.
During the POST it says: MS-6163VA.
Aida32 says MS-6163VA

So, which one is it?
I found a link to a bios version that is supposed to be for the MS-6163, not the 6163VA but the first bios release was version 2.0, while mine is 1.0B6f (?)

What do i need to access my files from any internet connection

I'm a bit confused, i've found some good videos on youtube on setting up the server but can't get the file shareing to work (of course the only reason i got the server). Some have told me i need a dyns routing service, so i used machighway.com but i still could not connect to my server from any internet conection outside of my home wifi. Now i've been told that i need VPN to be able to do that. So i'm hoping that someone can help clear this up and point me in the right direction. I can connect to the server using my Mac book air over my wifi (using an airport extreme). please help, i've had this server for half a year and have yet to be able to use it for what i intended.
(i upgraded the server to OS X Mountan Lion, and upgraded the app to OS X Server)

Here's how I did it.
-Open a free account at no-ip.org
-Download their app, change your server's hostname to the hostname you selected for your brand new no-ip.org account. Ideally you'd perform this step on a clean install of the Server since changing the hostname can mess a lot of the services up.
-You'll be able to tell it's working by enabling the Websites service and visiting your new no-ip.org hostname in a web browser. You should see the default server page.

My Dreamweaver is stuck connected to the server...

I recently tried copying a remote site I am working to Dreamweaver using the "Get" button so that I could edit it and check changes before placing it back onto my ftp. I am new to Web design, I am a graphic designer. I generally just used the program to look at code easily before this. However, I started this process two days ago and it never seemed to finish coping the site... not only that, it seems to be stuck connected to the server and won't allow my to exit or really do anything in Dreamweaver. It keeps telling my it has to finish what it is doing with the server. After two days I am very worried, not only because I'm sure I did something wrong in the copying process, but also because I need to get some work done!
I have already tried to:
Restart my computer.
Open a different document.
Disconnect from server in Dreamweaver.
(It won't allow me to)
