Syncopation Bug? Last Played "Time" between two computers

First all: I get NO response from Sonzea email "support", the creator of Syncopation. I've sent two emails over past four days.
Now.. here's the issue:
I've successfully used Syncopation to keep two iTunes lib's in sync on two computers for a long time. It's always worked great. Hadn't used it for a while, but now when I use it the "time" is off by one hour between Sync software on the two computers.
This manifests itself in two ways:
1.) the "Last Played" time is different by exactly one hour when a sync is done. It is "less" by one hour on the computer being synced (the other being the "master"). After a sync it tells me I need to sync ALL 4023 tracks again because it sees the "Last Played" date different between the two. You can sync repeated and it reports that all EVERY TRACK needs updating- it never thinks it is synced.
2.) BUT, when I reverse the sync and use the OTHER computer/library as the master it tells me the two libs ARE IN SYNC - even when I see that the "Last Played" dates if different by exactly one hour!
I'm running the latest version's of Syncopation and Mac OSX.
Anyone other Syncopation users see this? Ideas? Comments?

I'll just update to mention that I just noticed that the "Remove Duplicates" script isn't actually removing all the duplicates. I'm down from 3-4 copies of everyting to just two, and now I need a way to get rid of this one extra duplicate. Anyone know of any other ways to do this?

  • Syncing play counts between two computers

Is it possible to sync play counts (and other settings such as favorites, playlists, backups, etc) between two computers?
I purchased a new computer for school, but I am interested in continuing to use my old one as well.  The old one is where my info is accumulated of course, but I would like to add my counts, playlists, ratings etc. from my old computer onto the new one, and hopefully sync them between each other as well.
As unnecessary as this sounds, I am wondering if it is possible and how it can be achieved.  Any help and/or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thank you

iOS devices sync to one computer.
It is not possible (at least not easily) to sync to multiple computers.
What you can do is copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the existing computer to the new computer.  Then everything in iTunes on the new computer will be exactly as it was on the old computer.
There is no syncing, at least not within iTunes.
Other programs do exists that will allow you to sync specific folders between multiple computers.

  • Can I put my library on an external hard drive and use it between two computers?

Can I put my library on an external hard drive and use it between two computers? I have two MBP; I will refer to one as computer A and to the other as computer B. I would like to be able to plug in my external hard drive, boot up iTunes, and if there were any changes made to the library previous to its last time accessed on this compluter, they show up on that computer, regardless of being imported on the other.
A hypothetical example: I import three albums called 1, 2, and 3 on computer A over a week or so. I take the external hard drive and plug it into computer B. The entire library which was visible on A, is visible on B, including albums 1, 2, and 3.
Is this possible? If so, what files need to be copied onto the external? I'm trying some different combinations, trial and error basically. Hopefully someone knows and can answer before I mess up my library. I also want to do this to free up space on my computer. All importing will be done from disc.

iTunes/Preferences/Advanced : point your iTunes to the new location of the Library.
Set "Share on local network" in the Sharing tab, and you or everyone on the local network can play your music.
You make a backup first of the Library.
Move the follwing to the new location:
    /Users/your username/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music
    have fun.

  • Is it possible to share 1 bluetooth keypad and 1 mouse pad between two computers in target mode?

Is it possible to share 1 bluetooth keypad and 1 mouse pad between two computers in target mode? Grab a drink and let me tell you my story.
I purchased two computers... an iMac 27" i7 3.4 16GB RAM and a Mac mini 2.3 i5 8 GB RAM. Both have Thunderbolt capability and are in fact connected by thunderbolt. I have 3 problems...
    1. My Mac mini WILL NOT recognize any bluetooth keyboard. Let me back up for clarification. I set my iMac up first. No problems there. I then went on to set up my mac mini. A couple of interesting things happened concering bluetooth activity. First thing is that the keypad, which was already paired with my iMac wouldn't be recognized by the mac mini, and yet my bluetooth mouse which was paired with my iMac became paired with my mac mini and thus wouldn't be recognized by my iMac anymore. I had to go to my back room and dig out my other bluetooth mouse so that my iMac would at least recognize my second mouse. So now I have two "mice"presently. One for the mac mini, the other for the iMac. Thankfully I also had a USB keypad for my mac mini. My bluetooth keypad is still paired with my iMac but won't pair with my mac mini, which brings me to another question....
    2. CAN 1 KEYPAD AND 1 MOUSE PAIR WITH TWO DIFFERENT COMPUTERS SO THAT WHEN I GO INTO TARGET MODE VIA THUNDERBOLT I CAN USE THE SAME KEYPAD AND MOUSE FOR BOTH COMPUTERS? Anybody have some thoughts on that problem?
    3. WHY IN THE WORLD IS MY MOUSE CURSOR DISAPPEARING EVERYTIME I EXIT TARGET MODE VIA PASSWORD AND COMMAND F2. I'm using target mode to access my mac mini. But when I exit target mode to get back into my iMac I'm looking at my iMac screen but I can't see the mouse pointer! I can move the pointer around even though I can't see it. Wierd. And this has apparently been going on for some time with other users for over a year. I am presently completely up to date on Lion updates. Both systems are running 10.7.4. Does anyone have a solution or heard a rumor of a solution coming soon regarding the invisible mouse cursor "curse". I hate having to restart my iMac everytime I exit out of target mode just so I can get my mouse cursor visible again.
Food for thought.... Wouldn't it be really cool to have a target mode capability to see your other computers desktops in seperate window screens on your main display. You then could go back and forth from each window by just double clicking or by certain key commands. You could drag and drop from desktop to desktop. Tell me this is coming soon.
    Thanks

  • How to keep playlists in sync between two computers?

I have a MacBook Pro and a regular desktop Windows 7, and I have all of my music on both of them. However, I constantly keep adding new songs to different playlists all the time, and this makes it hard to keep everything in sync with both computers and my iPod because I usually sync from my Mac.
Right now I export the updated playlists on one of the computers and import it on the other, but it's quite the hassle just to keep some playlists in sync. I tried using home sharing, but it just keeps downloading duplicates everytime I try to import, I would've thought it was smarter by just adding the new songs but appearently it isn't.
So, anyways, is there any easy way for me to automatically keep playlists in sync between two computers?

I am indeed subscribed to iTunes Match.  Are you saying that with Match, it will sync my playlists?  I will have to check this when I get home.  That would really be a nice surprise!
I sync my iPod to iTunes on my Windows 7 box, but use iTunes on my Mac for synching my iPhone 6 and iPad 2.  Normally, I'd be modifying a playlist on the Win 7 box, adding or rearranging songs.  However, occasionally, I might download a song to the iPhone while out and about.  Then, when I'm back at the Mac, I'd do a sync and add that new song to one of the playlists.  Should Match then be keeping the playlists on the two machines in sync?
As for the library replication, I had to do that when I first signed up for Match.  I was WAY over the 25k song limit, so I made a copy of the library, and in that copy deleted enough songs to get me under the limit.  Also discovered scripting and did some really neat things with that tool.  Still have the option when I start iTunes to use the old library, just in case there's something there I need to copy to the smaller lib.

  • ITunes "Last Played" Time Stamp issues

    I have a late 2011 Mac Mini running OS X 10.8.2 & iTunes 11.0 (163).
Ever since I did the last update to iTunes, the "Last Played" time stamp has not worked.
In the past, whenever a track finished playing, iTunes would place the time & date in the "Last Played" column. This no longer works.
I just came back from the local Apple Store, & one of the workers there suggested setting the iTunes Preferences supply the time stamp.
When I got home, I went through the preferences, but could not find anything for the "Last Played" time stamp.
    Please help.

Go into iTunes Preferences and turn off crossfade.  Don't ask why it works; do ask apple to fix this bug!

  • Sync Mail between two computers

After Leopard upgrade, I switched from Entourage to Mail.app, so I'm new to it.
I use two Macs and POP accounts. How can I sync Mail.app between two computers in Leopard? The Sync Service of Smart Folders is not enough for me.
May I use a sync app like Folders Synchrnonizer?
    Thanks
    Stefano

Both my wife and I have multiple macs and work at home and on the road - we've tried all sorts, and there are 3 approaches that work:
    1) IMAP
I know you think this isn't the ideal solution for you, but it is unbelievably simple and rock solid once you get it working.
Set your POP mail addresses to forward all mail to your IMAP address (I use .mac which is brilliant, I don't know about Gmail).
Your mail is server based, so your laptop, desktop, iPhone, webmail from a PC etc. are all always in sync.
You will still get your mail from your old accounts.
You can set rules on any of your machines to filter your mail into folders according to which address they were originally sent to.
HOWEVER the mail you SEND will be FROM your IMAP address, so your clients / friends may get confused if you don't want them to use your IMAP address as your main address.
    2)
Leave POP mail on the server.
In Mail preferences, highlight your POP account and click on the "Advanced" tab.
Select "Remove mail from server" to a 1 day if you come home each night.
If you are away for longer, make it 1 week or Never.
This way, if you download mail on your Laptop, when you get home that evening, your desktop will download the same mail again, as it has been left on the server.
    It's sort of fake IMAP.
The downside is you can end up with a full mailbox at the server very quickly as you are now leaving messages on it, and you may have to empty the server yourself sometimes (in the same menu you just adjusted).
Also, if you are away from your laptop too long, you may download and later delete-from-the-server messages on your desktop, leaving your laptop out of date.
Use Mac Sync to keep your rules, mailboxes and preferences synced up.
This is the way it's designed to work, so it should work fine.
    3)
    Drag the Mail folder.
Assuming you're only using one Mac at any one time, you simply move the main mail folder to whichever machine is current.
    Quit Mail on both machines.
On your target mac, go to youruserfolder/Library and rename the "Mail" folder to something else like "Mail Old". This is just so you have a backup.
On your source mac, go to youruserfolder/Library and copy that entire folder (not just the mailboxes) either to a drive to transfer to your target mac, or straight to it if you have it networked.
When you start up mail you will find the messages, folders, mailboxes etc. are the same as they were on your source mac.
Now you use your target mac (say your laptop) for a while.
When you are going back to your original source mac (e.g. your desktop), you now repeat the process in the other direction, replacing your desktop's mail folder with your newer laptop's version.
It's really important you use one mac at a time and swap the folder each time you switch.
If you rename the previous version before you overwrite it, you know you have a backup if things get out of sync.
It works really well if you only take the laptop out occassionally, or if you use it exclusively for days at a time (i.e you go away) and you only need to do the transfer every so often.
Also, it helps if you don't have thousands of emails - if your Mail folder is under half a gig, you can do this quickly using a USB keyring or similar. Any bigger and the transfer can get a bit slow.
I use option 1, and felt it was worth changing my email address for.
My wife uses option 2 when she is using her laptop in the day and she can run her desktop each evening the download the mail left on the server.
But she sometimes gets trouble with her popmail server filling up (she gets lots of video and audio attachments) so if she's going away or not planning to use her desktop in the evenings, she reverts to option 3 and removes messages from the server "right away", updating her desktop's mail folder at the end of the week and just using her laptop until then.
    Good luck!

  • 8.1 not updating Last Played time/date

Songs are playing normally, but when I check Recently Played it only shows the tracks that played just before installing the update. The Play Count is registering properly, but the time and date played are not.
Also, I'd rather have my old shuffle function back. Genius is an optional function that can be turned off if I choose not to use it and I wish iTunes DJ was the same way.

I'm also no longer getting last played time updated as well as play count not increasing. Also, when I rate a track from the shuffle's list, the rating does not transfer to the original track on disk. This makes manual management of tracks on a shuffle impossible. The play position is also lost.
Apple, this is a critical bug bug, because of loss of data. Please fix it asap.

  • Syncing a project between two computers

I just got a new MacBook which I use when I travel every week. I have a project that I started at home on my 24" iMac. When I'm at home I would like to continue using the iMac because of the big screen. However I would still like to work on the project when I have time on the road.
So the question is "Is is possible to copy / sync a whole project with clips between two computers and be able to go back and forth between the computers?" I realize I might have to copy the whole file.
Better yet is there a way to keep the project on an external drive and use iMovie on each computer to open up and work on the project.
    Thanks,
    Alan

    Yes this is possible.
First, make sure your external drive is formatted as MacOS (journalled) or HFS+ (journalled)
Go into iMovie and from the Project list, drag your project to the External Drive by dragging the project name to the icon for the external drive in the project list in iMovie.
Now select File/Consolidate Media and choose Move (not copy). Everything will be consolidated to the external drive where the project is. You can open it on another Mac.
See the iMovie Help for further details.

  • How do I sync the same library between two computers?

I have an iMac and a Macbook Air, and I am constantly buying music betwen the two computers, and my iPhone. I want to be able to sync up my iPhone on both computers, but it keeps telling me I have to resync my entire phone, which is just crazy. How can I sync up itunes? I have .mac to sync my contacts, mail, etc.

I have an iMac and a Macbook Air, and I am constantly buying music betwen the two computers
Constantly? The MacBook Air is brand new.
Even if you sync iTunes between two computers With something like this -> syncOtunes, you will still get this message if you sync to the other computer. The libraries may be have the same music but they are not the same library.

    Hi Guyz,
I am on SE Asia Time (GMT+7) and my PC clock is set correctly, but every time I play song in iTUnes, it's Last Played time is off (earlier) by exactly 1 Hour.
    Anyone why it's doing that.

I want to know what for is the "Sync" button in Lightning and if there is a way to sync my LOCAL Lightning calendars between two computers. Thanks

sync is about synchronizing network calendars. Simply create a network calendar and synchronize it on multiple machines and forget local calendars.

    Dear Premiere Pro programmers,
Could you please create a way to use more than one transition in the same time between two video clips without exporting to media, or creating new sequence, or using another layer (adjustment or transparent)?

I'm not sure what you are imagining, but it might be possible to achieve by key framing effects. Can you tell us what you want to do? Also, please feel free to file a feature request: http://adobe.ly/feature_request

  • MIDI over direct USB connection between two computers?

I'm trying to find out if it's possible to send MIDI between two computers using a direct USB to USB connection (no MIDI interface). I have not seen this done before, I don't think, but I don't know why it shouldn't be possible.
Thanks for any tips on making this work. I want to connect several computers together to control sound and video for a theatre production, to be triggered from a single MIDI source.

    Hi,
I don't think there's something for midi over USB; however, there is an experimental tool for midi over Ethernet. It's called iMidi, and it's written foor PPC, and there's no native Intel version. I tried it with my PPC eMac and Intel iMac, but it took a lot of processing power
    See http://openmuse.org/transport/mip_oview.html for more info.
You could also use a midi thru box and 2 midi interfaces to trigger 2 Macs with 1 midi source.
    Hope this helps!
    Kind regards,
    Jaap

  • USB commnuication between two computers and air

    Hey all,
I was wondering if usb communication between two computers is possible and what I would need to get started.
I want to connect two computers and send data through a usb cable. Prior app was using wifi however signal was not consistent and I need consistency.
    THanks!

I see you found a solution, but for anyone else who drops in here, if it's an Android app you would need these permissions to be set in the app-descriptor XML:
    <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.BLUETOOTH"/>
    <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.BLUETOOTH_ADMIN"/>
