Syncronizing to Vista windows Calendar & contacts

Hi,
I am trying to set up syncronization between Vista Windows Calendar and Contacts with my Blackberry. These programs came with Vista. I can not afford Outlook, but I need a calendar and contact program on my computer.
I go to configuration > configuration Synchronization settings>
Then what do I do? I tried selecting ASCII Importer/Export but the next step asked me to link to a file, and I don't have a clue what to link to?
gthe other choice was yahoo and I have comcast mail.
Someone please help? Any suggestions?

Hey... if you have the NEWEST bb software all you have to do is
1) Connect your device
2) Go to the organizer tab
3)Click address book and only address book for now and click configure settings
4)Click on address book and click SETUP
5)  Click on Windows ( what ever operating system you have) and click next.
6) Do the one way sync
7) Click Finish
8) Once clicked finished it will bring you back to the screen of 4 options. Click cancel and yes.
9) at the bottom of the screen click, SYNC. Your windows contacts should be synced.
It did this for me... I have bb torch 9800. If you need help email me at [email protected]

  • Using Vista Windows Calendar

Is it possible to use Vista Windows Calendar and sync with the Curve?

I have the same problem. In another forum I saw that someone had asked RIM about this and RIM told them they had not had the time to config Blackberry software for Vista Calendar as MS had notified them too late about Vista. They said they were working on this (as of August 07 if I remember correctly?). Since then nothing....I wonder if they still have plans to add the Vista Calendar sync options. Anybody knows?

  • Synchronizing problems with Vista -- Windows Calendar

Just got my Blackberry Pearl -- am trying to synchronize with my laptop, which is running Vista.
it synchronizes my contacts and emails just fine, but I can't get it to synchronize with my calendar or tasks.   Anyone else run into this problem?

This is a major problem for me and has been for the past two months.  I am running Vista with Outlook 2007 and I can't get Intellisync to work.  I have "upgraded" to Desktop 4.3 and still have no ability to sync my Blackberry Pearl with the Outlook Calendar (or anything else in Outlook).  Rogers says that it is a BB Desktop problem related to Vista and they don't know when a fix will be available.  I am resigned to either entering every meeting twice (once in Outlook and then again on the handheld) or tossing out this device and getting something else.
Has anyone solved a similar problem?

  • How can I sync my device calendar with the Windows Calendar on Vista?

    Hello,
I have just got a PC running Vista (without Outlook) and am using the Windows Calendar and Addressbook. I seem to be able to sync the addressbooks, but my Blackberry Desktop isn't recognising the Windows Calendar application to allow me to sync that. Can this be fixed, or do I need to shell out of Outlook instead?
Thanks to anyone who can help me on this one,
    Duncan

    as seen on http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/#tab_tab_sysreq
Windows Vista Calendar is not compatible with the blackBerry calendar.
you will either have to use the ones listed, or use Google Calendar as a middleware and use Google Mobile sync to have realtime wireless synchronization.

  • Windows Calendar (Vista) Does Not Synchronize with BB Desktop

Windows Calendar is not one of the available configuration choices to synchronize with under either BB Desktop Manager V 4.2SP2 or V4.3.
When I purchased my phone I was told that it was compatible with Vista.  I do not want to have to purchase either Outlook or Office just to get my phone and personal calendars synchronized. Is there a way to syncronize Windows Calendar? I do not want to have ti deal with ASCII sharing, or be forced to purchase another calendar program.

it's not an option because Windows Vista Calendar is not supported by BlackBerry.

  • Windows Vista vs Calendar Sync for Pocket PC

Is there a way to get Calendar Sync for Pocket PC to work under Windows Vista? It seem that Active Sync no longer exists in Vista, and Calendar Sync won't install without it.

Apparently it is still not available. If it is, they're hiding it well... It has been a year since the last update on this thread - does anybody have any better information on Vista support?

  • Only have Microsoft Vista = Windows Mail - not able to synch calendar??

    Hi everyone-
I have a new computer which only has Microsoft Vista which comes with Windows Mail, the successor to Outlook Express. Does that mean I am not able to synch my calendar with the iphone? I find that sort of ridiculous.....

There currently isn't a sync for Windows Calendar, but maybe soon
As a work around I created a Google Calendar online and go to Safari when I want to look at an entry. You can set it up to send you alerts, so some of the functionality is still there like Outlook on a computer.

  • Sychronising 6300 and Windows Calendar (Vista Home...

Help please - I have previously been able to sychronise my calendar on my Nokia 6300 and my previous laptop (which used Windows XP) with no problems at all. I have had to buy a new computer and this runs Vista (Home Premium edition).
I have downloaded the appropriate Nokia suite but I still cannot sychronise the calendar on my phone with Windows Calendar. When installing Nokia Suite it did not 'find' the windows Calendar.
Can anyone out there help please, what am I missing? Thanks

You mean use windows calendar with an oracle calendar server back-end ? 99% chance this is a no-go.

  • Nokia suite 3.8.48 and Windows (8) Contacts

Nokia Suite syncs 3710 fold and suite, but not Windows contacts.
    How to do?
Previously I used Windows XP and Outlook without any problems.
Would be great with some help.

    Hi goranlof,
    Welcome to the forum!
Nokia Suite can copy and sync contacts and calendar files from the following programs:
    Microsoft Windows 7 Contacts
    Microsoft Windows Vista Contacts
    Microsoft Windows Vista Calendar
    Microsoft Outlook 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010
    Microsoft Outlook Express
    Mozilla Thunderbird
Windows 8 Contacts is currently not included in the list. However, you can copy your numbers from Windows 8 Contacts to any of the supported programs, you'll be able to sync the data to your Nokia 3710 fold. You can contact the Windows support team for assistance with this process: windows.microsoft.com/contact-support.
Let us know if this information has helped you.

  • PC Suite with vista:Synchronise calendar

Hi, Is there any way to sync the phone calendar with Vista's Windows Calendar or any other calendar option available in vista. I can sync the contacts but not my calendar. cheers

I think I"m going to install microsoft office in order to use pc suite with vista.
I have a brand new aspire notebook (5580) and it came with vista, but i find vista very basic and since it won't link up with nokia's pc suite calendar then there is no use in it for me. It's nice that my contacts switched over, but i use my phone as a calendar to match my appts.
i also downloaded the latest nokia pc suite 6.84.10.3 and there is still no calendar link up with the new vista.
I didn't want to have to BUY OFFICE WORKS in order to link my phone and laptop, but seems like the only way! anyone else got any other ideas???

  • Cannot sync outlook calendars-contacts

    Hello,
I am having problems syncronizing calendar, contacts and to-do notes.
I am using PC Suite latest version (6.83.14.1) on a Win XP SP 2 with a Nokia N73. During the setup process of the synchronization, the program will not let me select outlook's folders. I have checked but microsoft outlook (2007 version) seems to be working fine.
To be honest I had tried before but I have never been able to sync the contacts, even when I only had the windows mail contacts.
I have tried what is being suggested in the forum, but it seems there is no way out and I need to update contacts and calendar on my phone-computer.

In the end for me the solution was in the mapi32.dll .
Eudora had changed it and the communication btw outlook and pc suite was not happening at all.
As Ed of http://www.bloged.co.uk/ suggested, I went to c:\Windows\system32\ and renamed the existing mapi32.dll to mapi32.old .
Then i ran fixmapi in the same folder, rebooted and made sure the new mapi32.dll was something written by Microsoft.

If you use Mozilla Thunderbird for reading emails, and Outlook for managing your contacts, notes and diary, there is a high probability that PC Suite synchronisation was broken because Microsoft's MAPI library (MAPI32.DLL) was replaced with one from Mozilla.

  • Move calendar info FROM iphone TO windows calendar

Apologies if this has been answered. I've spent ages googling and searching here, but I can't seem to find an exact answer.
Although I may be the exception to the rule:
    1. I do not want all of my windows mail contacts in my iphone (2nd gen). Therefore those have been input manually.
I did take the time to set up my 2009 calendar ON MY IPHONE. My windows calendar (vista home premium) has not been used.
It is possible to moe my calendar info TO WINDOWS CALENDAR from the IPHONE? I can see syncing info, but it seems to override the phone, and on music etc...not the calendar.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

If she can't, it's a pretty sad statement about interoperability of Google's products.
Take a look at the help pages at http://www.google.com/calendar.
This really doesn't have anything to do with the iPhone.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hi lulu34 and welcome to the Blackberry Forums
You can't sync the windows Calendar with the BB Calendar.
You'll have to go through a third party calendar, like Google Calendar.
    1) sync win cal with gcal
    2) sync gcal with bbcal with Google Mobile Sync.
If I help you with any inquire, thank you for click kudos in my post.
