Syndication taxonomy to R/3 Classification

Excuse me for my english.
There is standard IDOC for syndication the Classification with clinging material from MDM to R/3.
Shall be grateful for any help.

(This is point to point scenario)
Process is like that whn u create a material record in MDM and u syndicate it by using matmas and classification MAPs through MDM, it will generate XML at outbound port and R/3 wil read these XML from outbound of MDM.
Then It takes it as a IDoc for generating Material in SAP R/3.
There are standard IDoc structure availble throug which materail can be created in SAP R/3.

Taxonomy - how many training documents needed for automatic classification?

I have an example based taxonomy.
I have trained the taxonomy manually with about two documents and expected it to classify automatically after that which it has not done.
According to the URL below

it is mentioned that "You can also classify documents automatically. A prerequisite for this is that there are existing document classes with sufficiently correctly classified documents that meet the classification criteria"
Please advise if training the taxonomy with only two documents which I did was too little - exactly how many documents are needed? (the above URL does not give an indication of a number)

Taxonomy? Classification? Categorisation?

Not sure if there is a way around this classification problem
I have a supplier who produces products that can be classified under two various categories ie Uniforms and Site cleaning services. However, the invoices are under the one Vendor Id (same company).
How can i force the user to select the right category.
As it stands the user selects the invoice based on the supplier then is presented with two categories (uniform, site services).
Is there a taxonomy that can be used that groups such suppliers?
ie use a special field to flag the vendor Id so that regardless of what service they are invoicing for it falls under the one category.
What i am looking for is an established industry standard to deal with such suppliers for categorisation purposes to increase granular spend visibilty

Problems with Taxonomy and Classification

We are currently on EP6 SP2 and are going live in a couple of weeks. Currently, we are stuck on our solution to one of the requirements and cannot seem to find a way out of it. I would really appreciate anyone's help in this regard.
We have a web repository that has HTML files with meta-tags in them. The meta-tags have been defined using the "keywords" tag e.g.
<b><META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="oranges, lemons, limes"></b>
We also have an index that is linked to a query-based taxonomy. The queries have been defined to read the embedded-keywords field and match it to the content in the HTML tag e.g. oranges, lemons etc. in the above example.
When we run the index, we know that it has picked up all the right HTML because the results are returned in the Search. However, they never get classified. All documents just keep sitting in the "Documents to be Classified" folder.
There are two kinds of errors we have come across. For some reason, TREX is not finding the field and is returning this error:
[00208] 2005-06-10 18:19:24.324 e attributes AttributeStore.cpp(00220) : openAttribute() failed: 6915 UNKNOWN_ATTRIBUTE (AttributeEngine); indexId = "aa_ys_sitedirectoryindex760001en"; attribute = "embedded-keywords"
This is even though we see embedded-keywords as a property and as something that can be assigned a query in the Taxonomy Query Builder.
Additionally, if you go and look at the details of a document that we are trying to classify, it has the following error on it:
An error occurred during classificationError while classifying resource /mytaglb/sitmeta_2/mil.dla.loc.HQ.user/Adoption.html for taxonomy News_and_Information.com.sapportals.wcm.WcmException: taxonomy not found (Errorcode 2422)
Even though the Taxonomy is there.
We have no idea why this is happening and have spent the last week or so exclusively looking at this problem. If anyone has any insight, please let us know as this is at a critical level for us.

Even I posted a message which is a bit related to your problem.
Your problem is that you assumed the functionality of "embedded-keywords" and used it in your query and it is not working as you expected and is throwing an error saying UNKNOWN-ATTRIBUTE.
I donno the difference b/n "name" and "name(as string)" attributes. The problem is we are not able to find specific help topic relating to the attribute options we have here. Can anybody tell us the location of proper documentation relating to these attributes found in the Query Builder?
For the message raised by me I got valuable reply from "<b>Matthias Roebig-Landau</b>". Hope he might help you too, if he has experience with the attribute "embedded-keywords".
Else, since your requirement is very urgent, better you can raise an OSS message to SAP.

How to create a Taxonomy classification folder with KM or Index API

I'm developing an application that needs to create a taxonomy structure dynamically.
The structure is something like
-Taxonomies -> Index_MI ->Tax_MI -> Docs1 and Docs2
I have already created the repositories and the index with no complication at all, and I can create a taxonomy under that index structure(same level as Tax_MI), the fact is when I try to create a new sub-folder inside the Tax_MI one I've got the error: can not create taxonomy folder: Invalid character in resource name: / - com.sapportals.wcm.repository.InvalidNameException: Invalid character in resource name: / . The parameter is "Tax_MI/Docs3"
I'm using the following method to create the taxonomy:

Thank you Patricio, the link is useful but it says "The following prerequisite must be fulfilled:
The taxonomies must be identical in both systems. To transport the taxonomies from the source to the target system the standard transport mechanism of the portal can be used" and the requirement is to create the taxonomy structure on the fly.
I'm studying the AbstractClassificationIndex class, it has the addResourceToClassificationIndex method, but I have no success yet.
Are there any other suggestions?

Taxonomy classification folder not displaying contents

Hello All,
I have created an index, a taxonomy for the index and created a query for the folder in the taxonomy where i want my documents to be classified.
After this I have reindexed my index.
the indexing has been completed.
Now when i navigate to content admin->KM content and to the folder of my taxonomy, The page keps trying to load and after a long time it gives a java iview runtime error.
I am able to open the folder for documents to be classified. I am also able to open other taxonomy folders.
I thought this is because the number of documents indexed are too many. so i reduced the depth of the crawler. now only 101 documents have been indexed. still the page does not open.
Could someone help me with this problem? I dont know what to do and where the problem could be.

I've seen this before (on this board and on my machine once) and the solution was to blow away the .DS_Store file for /Applications. So Launch /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app and type:
+rm /Applications/.DS_Store+
+killall Finder+
When the finder comes back up, see if the Applications folder loads for you now.
As for the Applications folder in your Sidebar, most likely you removed it by accident. Its pretty easy to do, but also pretty easy to fix. Double click on your hard drive on the Desktop. In the window that appears, drag the Applications folder to the Places section of the sidebar. That should do it. Hope that helps...

Syndication of Taxonomy values

Hi All,
I need to syndicate the Attribute values for the attributes of a taxonomy table to ECC system. For example, for attribute "Colour" Red and Green in values are maintained in ECC. In MDM, I have added Blue and Black for this attribute.
Is it possible for me to syndicate the values "Blue and Black" to ECC from MDM?

Hi Ritam,
As rightly pointed out by Pramod,When you are working with MDM integration with ECC you need to make sure that you are using lookup table and lookup values of ECC as MDM lookups.
And you assing one of these from the lookups to the main table records,You cannot give a value to a record outside the lookups as, when you try to syndicate the same from MDM ,it will fail in ECC as ECC does not know from where these values have come and this may result in an Idoc failure.
However if you already have maintained all the values in MDM as present in ECC then you can change the values and resend to ECC.

My requirement is that I have to syndicate material number along with the assigned class along with its attribute names and values in a flat file.
The file would have the below format
Material number Class Attribute name Attribute value.
Could anyone let me know of how to do the same?

Hi Nilanjan,
I think you need to change manually in Excel file for your last two fields if you want into this format only. I think this is not Possible either using Data Manager or Syndicator to get into this Specific Format. As you now first row always syndicated out from Data Manager or syndicator conatin field names and rest all rows values.
Since here Your Material Number, Class and Attributes acts like Fields, you will get this as 1strow always and values of records as below rows.
You can check ni Record mode of Data Manager of Main table. In Record Detail tab you have format as
Field and its values
Material number and its value say 123
Class and its value Category name say XYZ
Attribute Name say Attr1, Attr2 etc and its Values say PQR
Since value(PQR) is not a field here not in left hand side, you cant get this format.

CLFMAS syndication problem

Hello ,
I need to syndicate MDM CLFMAS data to SAP.
Can I use XSD of CLFMAS.CLFMAS02 IDOC of ECC.
How is the CLFMAS data is enterd in main material table in mdm. Is it that CLFMAS data is stored as attribute in mdm.
If I keep CLFMAS data as a field in main table can I use
XSD of CLFMAS.CLFMAS02.
as per mdm team , they cannnot give me syndicated data in CLFMAS.CLFMAS02. MDM person wants to change the xsd of standard idoc and repeat the segment E1AUSPM. Means if
todays mdm has to send 200 CLFMAS records , person is going to copy segment E1AUSPM in xsd and that XSD will be used while defining syndication map.
Pl suggest at the earliest possible.

Yes CLFMAS02 can be used to syndicate classification data. Follow below steps:
1] For <OBKEY> which is a material number use <RemoteKey Value>.
2] You need to have a field in main table looking upto a taxonomy table which actually stores all classification data. (Class/Subclass hierarchy , attributes and values).
3] Once you have this field , syndicator will start showing up a field "Attrubute Name and Values" with two childrens "Attribute Name" and "Attribute Value" in source pane.
4] Map this parent node to <E1AUSPM> node of CLFMAS.
5] Map "Attribute Name" to <ATNAM> node of CLFMAS and "Attribute Value" to <ATWRT> node of CLFMAS.
6] This would map all the required fields for Classification.

Query based taxonomy from scratch gives NoSuchMethodError...

I'm trying to create a query based taxonomy following the instuctions specified in the help docs: KM Platform -> Admin Guide -> Content Mgmt -> Taxonomies and Classification -> Creating a QBT -> from scratch. I created an index on a newly created (hence empty) folder in the 'documents' repository. So, essentially, the data source points to that folder. Also, I selected 'TREX Classification' on the 'Service' drop-down while creating the index. I left the crwler profile as blank. Then I went on to create a new 'Query Based Taxonomy'. I was able to create it alright, but as soon as I click on it to add folder and the such, I get this error:

re. your NW'04 SP stack 4 migration intention:
NW'04 is still in ramp-up (SP stack 4 is the current shipment bundle of it) so at the current point in time, only participating ramp-up customers can use it.
A migration from EP6.0 SP2 to NW'04 will be possible (but not during the ramp-up phase).
From a Knowledge Management & Collaboration perspective, we will port most of the NW'04 SP stack 4 functions to EP6.0 SP2 as well. These functions will be shipped as EP6.0 SP2 Patch 5 (planned shipment date beginning of Q4 / 2004) so for mid-term, you can also plan to stay on EP6.0 SP2 if you have no other pressing reasons for going to NW'04 (e.g. enhanced Web AS functions).
This feature porting from NW -> EP6.0 SP2 is an 'only-once' action, however, and NetWeaver will be the release for new features in the future.

Wich authorization do I need?? Where is the iView??...

Search for ContentManager role in the user admin and assign that role to your user id or the group you are in.
Once it is added, Content Manager role will come in Top level navigation.
Then navigate to Content Manager -> Classification-> Taxonnomy Query Builder.

Query Based Taxonomy - Dynamic Creation of a Query Problem

I'm trying to create new category nodes in a taxonomy and to assing them queries. I know how to do this, but I encountered a strange behavior. Here is the situation:
I have a string property DocumentType. When manualy creating a query, it looks like:
DocumentType CONTAINS "Some string"
But when I do the same using code I get:
DocumentType IS "Some string"
And as a result of this, the taxanomy is not working properly.

   I can't classify automatically, when i insert the query from code. When I manually insert the query from the portal, automatic classification run perfectly.

Taxonomy files can not displayed

I create a index for a folder files and build a query-based taxonomy.The files can be automatically classified into taxonomy folders.When I use navigation iviews to browse the taxonomy folders ,I can see some links of files that are automatically classified.But when I import a .par package(any application I developed in NWDS),the links in the taxonomy folders can not be seen and report an error "class java.lang.NullPointerException".I have to reboot j2ee engine to solve it.Once I import a .par package when the problem occur.Could anyone can tell me the reason or other solution besides rebooting j2ee engine.

Documents in Query-based Taxonomy are not Autoindexing

Hello experts!
I am on EP6.14 with Trex 6. I have a repository with a query-based taxonomy on it and is also part of a regular search index. I have autoclassification on.
On each document I have a couple of properties that are used to match documents in queries in my taxonomy. On the initial set-up and load, everything worked great. Documents went right where they were supposed to. But sometime after we released this to the business, the documents no longer automatically index. If I change a document property or set up a new one, it finds the category but leaves them as "suggested." You then have to go in and accept those suggestions to get the document to the right taxonomy. In short, it acts as if autoclassification is off. I have noticed that the Classification index does not submit a new document if I change a property but the search index does. Not sure if that is applicable but I would think both should do that since it is a change.
I did some research and found that synchronization issues or new folders could cause this problem but I have synchronized with no success. Also, state management is not on for the repository.
Is there any reason why autoclassification would stop on its own? What can I do to get it back on?

We have a single CM DB repository. There is a search only index at the root folder and classification index on a folder below the root. Normally, we don't overlap but we wanted only the folders in the lower folder to be part of the taxonomy. I suppose we could just rule out the other documents by not having them match any queries but this way it was guaranteed.
THe search and classifications are working (aren't throwing errors) but like I said, I would think that both would have to push the document through the queue. But I'm only seeing the search index do that. Now if I go and accept the recommended categories, then it goes into the queue for the Classification index.

Unable to create a Taxonomy

Hello,
I would like to create a Taxonomy.
According to my knowledge, I should find a link called "Taxonomies" under every Index I create under "Index Administration".
Well, I have few indexes there but when I edit them I don't see any "Taxonomies" link.
Should I have to preconfigure or precreate something before going to this link?

What it could be is when you create an index, you have the option of whether it should just be an index... or index and classification or just classification. I guess you have chosen just index. This is no problem. You can now create a new index, just with the service classification and can point it to all of the repositories that you have indexed previously. Then you should get your taxonomies link.
