Syntax error to run a javaScript
Hi all
I want to run a JavaScript using AppleScript do script method.
First I create a document using
tell application "Adobe InDesign CS5.5"
set myDocument to make document
end tell
Now I run this script
set ScriptPath to alias "HD:private:var:root:Documents:Adobe Scripts:Source1.jsx"
tell application "Adobe InDesign CS5.5"
do script ScriptPath language javascript
end tell
But it give error
error "Adobe InDesign CS5.5 got an error: Syntax error" number 8
I also try :
set ScriptPath to alias "HD:private:var:root:Documents:Adobe Scripts:Source1.jsx"
tell application "Adobe InDesign CS5.5"
set myDocument to make document
do script ScriptPath language javascript
end tell
No compile error
At run time give same error "Adobe InDesign CS5.5 got an error: Syntax error" number 8
If I create document using this:
tell application "Adobe InDesign CS5.5"
set myDocument to make document
end tell
and run Source1.jsx using Extend Script Toolkit CS5.5 then script run sucessfully.
My Java Script is :
#target indesign
var myDocument = app.activeDocument;
with(myDocument.documentPreferences)
pageHeight= "11i";
pageWidth ="8.5i";
facingPages=false;
pageOrientation=PageOrientation.portrait;
pagesPerDocument=1;
var myLayer= myDocument.layers.add();
myLayer.name="myFirstLayer";
myLayer.visible=true;
var masterspread = myDocument.masterSpreads.add(1);
masterspread.baseName="NewMasterPage";
masterspread.select(1919250519);
var myTextFrame=masterspread.textFrames.add(myDocument.layers.item("myFirstLayer"));
myTextFrame.geometricBounds = ["6p", "25p", "30p", "30p"];
myTextFrame.contents = "Master Spread";
I do no understand where is Syntax error.
tell application "Adobe InDesign CS5.5"
do script alias "HD:private:var:root:Documents:Adobe Scripts:Source1.jsx" language javascript
--> error "Syntax error" number 8
Result:
error "Adobe InDesign CS5.5 got an error: Syntax error" number 8
Thanks.
Hi Vamitul Thanks for reply
Now script run but i do not understand the behave of script
In Extend Script Toolkit CS5.5 script run sucessfully
with this
var myTextFrame=masterspread.textFrames.add(myDocument.layers.item("myFir stLayer"));
why it give error in AppleScript do script method ?
Thanks

Syntax error when running ActionFileToXML.jsx or trying to install xtools
I have an action set (actually a few) that I would REALLY love to rename but the actions are calling "sub" actions within the action set which means that the action set name is hard-coded into the actions in many places.
Originally, I tried to edit my actions with a hex editor to try and change the name and references but realised I was limited to renaming with the same number of characters unless I parsed the file first... so I gave up on that. Then I came across Xbytor's awesome ActionFileToXML script, but I get a syntax error when running both the To and From XML scripts at root.@date = Stdlib.toISODateString();
I then figured I would go straight for the latest xtools instead but when running the install (in CS2) I get a rather long syntax error and so the install fails. The script mentioned that there is a log file that I should email to Xbytor, but I figured I would post here instead of bothering him directly so he has more of a choice about whether he wants to be bothered by me Or maybe someone else can answer if it is a stupid newbie problem.
Thanks heaps!
Gab
ETA: I'm running CS2 on XP if that makes any difference. If so, I may be able to use a friend's Mac with CS3.Thanks for the quick (and very useful) response!
I made the changes to the mentioned files and the scripts were able to
progress further, but only until the next E4X syntax (node.@key=key;).
Rather than continue to hack at your code, I figured I should downgrade to a
previous version (as you also suggested). I initially tried v1.5 and the
ActionFileToXML worked perfectly but ActionFileFromXML failed with an
illegal argument error.
Before looking too deeply into the error, I figured I would try v1.6 and
found that both the scripts were able to complete successfully. The
resulting atn file has a couple of bugs in it (such as "Set current layer"
having a knockout setting of which causes the action to crash),
but nothing that I can't just copy back from my original script.
Thanks HEAPS for your assistance and for the awesome scripts in the first
place! Extremely greatly appreciated! -

Syntax error while running the Adobe Form
Hi to all,
I have created an interface for adobe from
Example: F4_HELP type ZST
Where ZST is structure type.
ZST structure has following field.
1) MATERIAL type MATNR
2) BASE_QTY type BASMN (BASMN of type QUAN, length 13 with ref table RC29K, and ref field BMEIN)
Interface and form successful activated.
But when I run adobe from it give syntax error for ref table RC29K, and ref field BMEIN
Field u201CRC29K- BMEIN u201Cis unknown. It is neither in one of the specified tables nor defined by a "DATA" statement.
Please can anyone tell me the solution for that?
I shall be thankful to you for this.
Regards
Pavneet RanaThanks For reply
I have already maintained the ref table and field for field BASE_QTY type BASMN
Ref table RC29K, and ref field BMEIN.
But still error is coming.
please can any one tell me the solution for that.
i shall be thankful to you for this.

Syntax Error while running step 34 (35) after unicode conversion
Hello,
We are converting our test system to Unicode to find out how to do it
in our production system. We are at step 34/35 (Starting RFC job's) in
the database installation so we are almost done but we have encounted a
problem that we can't find a solution to. The error log in Sapinst give this
information:
ERROR 2008-11-09 11:19:19 [iaxxrfcimp.cpp:1103] CAbRfcImpl::performFunctionCall FRF-00025 Unable to call function.
Error message: ?`>?/?????????>??????/_???&<?(????????????????????????????????????????????????? .
At the same time we can read the following text in dev_w1 (and dev_w0 and so on):
A *** ERROR => Syntax error in program SAPLBTCH [abgen.c 1388]
A *** ERROR => > Include LBTCHF39 line 173 [abgen.c 1390]
A *** ERROR => > Statement "âu2018âu2018âu2018âu2018âu2018IF" is not defined. Check your spelling. spelling. [abgen.c 1393]
The error don't always look the same, here is another example:
A *** ERROR => Syntax error in program SAPLSALC [abgen.c 1388]
A *** ERROR => > Include LSALCU54 line 55 [abgen.c 1390]
A *** ERROR => > No component exists with the name "MTSYSIDâu2018MTMCNAMEâu2018MTNUMRANGEâu2018MTUIDâu2018". "MTSYSID [abgen.c 1393]
A *** ERROR => > âu2018MTMCNAMEâu2018MTNUMRANGEâu2018MTUIDâu2018". [abgen.c 1395]
The common thing is Syntax error. If we try to log in to the system using SAP Gui we get this message: "Syntax error in program SAPMS380".
In the file dev_disp we can read a lot of these:
Tue Nov 11 14:06:32 2008
*** WARNING => DpRqServiceQueue: timeout of HIGH PRIO msg, return DP_CANT_HANDLE_REQ
But we should have enough WP since noone has loggen on to the system.

Syntax Error while running "RFBILA00" program
Hello,
I am encountering some issues while trying to run reports that use table "FAGLFREESEL". The below error is for report "RFBILA00":

Any sugestions on how to fix this would be greatly appreaciated.
Thank you!Hello Constantin,
As the message suggests, FAGLFREESEL should be a Structure. CHeck in your system whether it has been created as a sturcture.
Have you checked SAP Service marketplace for the SAP Note. There are couple of SAP notes available for 2013 for few countries. Check whether anything applicable to your country.
If not, raise a OSS note with SAP.

Syntax error when running GLPLUP - Flex Plan Upload
HI,
We want use transaction GLPLUP to perform a Flex Plan Upload, but encounter a syntax error in program RK50003 stating:
The following syntax error occurred in program "RK500003 " in include
"PP_FISL_GINC " in
line 652:
"The data object "ITDAT1" does not have a component called "XBILK"."
This program is a local object, and appears to be generated by SAP. Checking the program attributes the owner and the last person to change this program is a consultant who has rolled off the project, and is not available for help.
I suspect that there must be some steps to regenerate this code, but I am not certain where to look for this information.
I have tried running GLPLDEL and GLPLINSTALL, but this did not change RK500003.
Any insight you can provide on this is greatky appreciated.
Thanks,
RoyHI,
I reported this issue with SAP and the following is what they had me do to resolve the issue:
1. Run transaction GLPLDEL:
Deletes all generated reports of the planning processor for
FI-GL/SL planning (application class GLU1). After a new call of
the planning, these reports will be generated once again.
2. Run transaction GLPLINSTALL:
It regenerates necessary database table entries for FI-G/SL Planning
(tables t8pl*). Make sure that you will perform this step when no
posting of FI-SL data is running.
This resolved the issue for us.
Good luck,

Getting syntax error while running ODI project
Greetings,
First time here with ODI. I'm using ODI version 10.1.3.5 and get the following error below on execution. I'm reading from a flat file to a mssql table. Not sure if this matters, but ODI is installed on one server running sql2005, while the staging tables are on a different server running 2008. The C$_ table is created, but contains no data.

Many thanks.Hi Lanfir,
I'm not sure where the sql gets generated, although I see why the code fails (I think). Sql is expecting a real table name but insteas gets either a blank name or the comment /* */. Is that correct?
This is what the error is saying at the operator.

Syntax errors before running power shell
Is there a way that we get compile time errors before actually running the script in powershel
SQL Server is kind enough to provide us Parse option in SSMS to get the errors before actually running the code
MLCNothing built-in to PowerShell can do this. If you want something simple, you could use the PSParser to look for anything that might be wrong with the syntax, but wouldn't do anything advanced like check for invalid commands.
$script = (Get-Content test.ps1)
$errors = [System.Management.Automation.PSParseError[]] @()
$tokens = [Management.Automation.PsParser]::Tokenize($script, [ref] $errors)
#Show errors found
$Errors
For something more advanced you would need to roll your own script checker using this or if running V3 and above, the AST methods. You could also look at using something like
ScriptCop.

Syntax error in OBIEE generated Physical query - Advance filter concept
I encountered a syntax error when running a report with the help of advanced filter concept.
I am getting syntax error at the physical query generated by the OBIEE for main report.
I used a sub report with the help of advanced filter concept in main report.
I am posting the physical query for the convenience.
select D1.c2 as c1,
D1.c1 as c2
from
(select sum(T600347.sales_usd) as c1,
T601002.currency as c2
from
(Select distinct currency from pfact) T601002,
pfact T600347
where ( T600347.currency = T601002.currency and T600347.pdate between ( select distinct min(D1.c1) as c1* from
(select D1.c1 as c1
from
(select D1.c1 as c1
from
*(select max(T600425.pdate) as c1*
from
*(select distinct pdate from pdates where pdate is not null) T600425*
where ( T600425.pdate < 11/22/2010 )
*) D1*
) D1
) D1 ) and '11/25/2010')
group by T601002.currency
) D1
I executed the query against my database(sybase) in query tool. It showed error.
I took out the column alias generated by the OBIEE ("as c1" as underlined). Then the query is working fine.
How to disable OBIEE from generating the alias.
Is there any way to do it.
If obiee is generating the physical query, i am suprised to see a syntax error.
The bold part is the query from Intermediate report
I underlined the problematic part.
Please help me. This is an urgent reuirement,
Thanks in advance for the help.HI,
When I execute the query on query tool ( my database is sybase)
I am geting error at "as c1" part, as underlined in the query.
when I remove that and execute the query, It is generating the output.

when trying to save a document that I typed, it says syntax error..what does that mean and how do I fix it so I can save my documents?
Applescript is like HTML, Actionscript, or Javascript.
SYNTAX is EVERYTHING.
Unlike HTML, Dreamweaver will pop a syntax error when trying to save a javascript that is unworkable because of a Syntax Error. Flash will do the same with a bad Actionscript.
AppleScript Editor is the same way as Dreamweaver or Flash.
The reason is:
Bad HTML - a browser simply won't load the page or it'll load it with missing or no content. Not all that bad.
Bad Javascript - your browser can lock up and if the script is complex enough, it can lock up your entire system.
Bad Actionscript - just like bad javascript, it can potentially lock your entire system.
Bad Applescript - can lock up your entire system.
With Windows, viruses are often improperly read as SYNTAX errors in Actionscript or Javascript. That's not a worry with an AppleScript, but the possibility of locking up your system is worth a warning.
You need to double check your syntax to be sure you haven't got something missing or improperly written. -
Firefox generates a javascript syntax error with ![CDATA[
I have an app written in HTML5, SVG and javascript that ran until today. I uploaded 3.6.10, and now javascript reports a syntax error for the <![CDATA[ tag. Even when I remove the tag, the SVG will not run. I haven't made ANY changes to the app, just updated Firefox. What changed to break this?
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Getting "Unable to run script at line 1: syntax error" error?
Hi,
I want to run a script using the AEGP_ExecuteScript() function. but I got an error "Unable to run script at line 1: syntax error". what could be the rea son for this? shall I inlcude anything extra info in my project?
Below is the code ...
char scriptPath[] = "F:\\Documents and Settings\\akshays\\Desktop \\Active Shutter.jsx";
A_Boolean platform_encodingB = 'B';
AEGP_MemHandle outResultPH0;
AEGP_MemHandle outErrorStringPH0;
utilitySuite5->AEGP_ExecuteScript( pluginID, scriptPath, platform_encodingB, &outResultPH0, &outErrorStringPH0 );
please help me.
Thanks
ManjunathThis can be debug by using "ExtendSCript Toolkit 2 and Debugger".
Just open Edit -> Prefernces -> General -> ****
There enable checkbox "Enable javascript debugger".
if you encountering an error while launching the script, then AE will automatically open your script in "ExtendSCript" toolkit with an error at the bottom line. You can see the "DataBrowsing" panel right side for available functions., objects and so on.
then you can get to know what is the error and the reason for this error at least.
