I have a satellite model L35-1054 and have had the same error. I get a SYS FADR error not responding on a shut down or restart. Will not shut down. Have reloaded the O/S a few times and changes the hard drive to a brand new one. Same error. HELP !

I doubt you get that error immediately after restoring the hard disk to factory specs. If so, it's due to a hardware failure.
More likley, you've accumulated some unwelcome visitors.
When you restore the hard drive, you must be careful to protect yourself from internet vermin prior to accessing the net for updates. It takes only a few seconds to get infected.

i am trying to upgrade oracle database 10.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.1 with dbua tool. While upgrading 'Oracle Server' ORA-04063: package body "SYS.DBMS_SQLTUNE" error has occured.

After unsuccesful upgrade i restore and recover the database. SYS.DBMS_SQLTUNE package and package body were valid. But when i compile them the package body becomes invalid.
I search the error and reach 390221.1 metalink note:

But there are no synonyms that is mentioned in this note in my db.
How can i resolve this problem? Thank you.

Greetings -
I have just installed APEX 2.2 in my 9.2.0.7 database and am going through the exercises in the "2 Day+ Application Express Developer's Guide." I was making good progress, until I got to Chapter 5, How to Control Form Layout. I created the script "ht_emp", as instructed. Everything in the script works, except for the "create or replace trigger bi_ht_emp" part. It fails with the following errors:

Enterprise manager 11g - win 2003 - sys/passwd error

We have windows 2003 server and we are running 2 oracle databases in
version 11g.
We were successfully configured EM for one database and when we tried for the other database we encountered configuration errors and the log file doesnt carry that much info for me to understand the error. I searched on google and was able to find one solution, which stated that the ocijdbc11.dll was overlooked and ocijdbc10.dll is needed to fix the issue." It was a bug". I tried the solution and it worked,however the emca command ended saying cannot start dbcontrol. Went through the log and found DBCONTROL created and secured.
So manually restarted DBCONTROL, it started well.
I opened the page and tried logging in using sys/passwd as sysdba, it didnt allow me in.
I even deconfigured and configured again. i got the same error.
Can anybody suggest what would be the cause and solution or work
around for this.

The simple solution to this problem is, and its working perfectly with me on 11gR2 resolving the subject error.
To avoid this problem, perform relational exports excluding OLAP's Analytic Workspaces.
1) Remove workspace package from export:
a. Connect sys/password as sysdba
b. create table sys.exppkgact$_backup as select * from sys.exppkgact$;
(Backup package before deleting it)
c. delete from sys.exppkgact$ where package = 'DBMS_CUBE_EXP' and schema= 'SYS';
d. commit;
4) Run the export.

Intermittent SYS.DBMS_LOB error

Approximately 20% of the time my BLOB inserts fail on my Oracle
8.1.7 instance that's running on Solaris. I'm doing all my db
calls via JDBC.
The same code works flawlessly against an 8.1.7 instance running
on Linux. The only difference between the two instances, other
than the OS, is that the BLOBS are stored in an NFS-mounted
volume for the Solaris instance (the one with the problems).
The error I'm getting is as follows:

This same thing seems to happen no matter what version of
Oracle's JDBC driver I use. I've tried the jdk 1.2 drivers for
Oracle 8.1.7, 8.1.7.1 and even 9.0.1.
I'm guessing that the DB is trying to flush the buffer out to
the filesystem and the NFS call is taking too long, or possibly
something else along these lines.
Any ideas on how to solve this one? Pointers would be
appreciated because the documentation doesn't have a lot to say
on this, and I haven't been able to find anything similar in the
discussion forums.

External LOBs
For an external LOB (BFILE) to be represented by a LOB locator, you must:
Ensure that a DIRECTORY object representing a valid, existing physical directory has been defined, and that physical files (the LOBs you plan to add) exist with read permission for the database. If your operating system uses case-sensitive path names, then be sure you specify the directory in the correct format.
Pass the DIRECTORY object and the filename of the external LOB you are adding to the BFILENAME function to create a LOB locator for your external LOB.
Once you have completed these tasks, you can insert or update a row containing a LOB column using the given LOB locator.
After the LOBs are defined and created, you can then SELECT from a LOB locator into a local PL/SQL LOB variable and use this variable as an input parameter to DBMS_LOB for access to the LOB value.
For details on the different ways to do this, you must refer to the section of the Oracle Database Application Developer's Guide - Large Objects that describes "Accessing External LOBs (BFILEs)."

Uploading Firmware Ops Sys Adm - Error encountered: The file could not be downloaded

Trying to upload the file using 8.6.2 of the CUCM Ops Sys Admin login. I am using a remote SFTP. I downloaded the firmware from the support section of the web. File: cmterm-7911_7906-sccp.8-5-2.cop.sgn
The Install/upgrade process finds the file then says.. Accessing the upgrade file, please wait
The Error Encounted: file could not be downloaded. a
There must be a log file somewhere. Any ideas?

Well - in that case I would take the easy option :-)
When you download the firmware, download the zip version. It may say 'for CUCM 4.x' or something similar.
Basically unzip it, then upload each of the files in the zip to the TFTP server manually through OS admin and then restart TFTP from serviceability.
Then you can apply it to a test phone and update the device defaults page when you are ready.
That way you can try different versions of firmware without adding lots of non-removable references to cop.sgn files to the system's installed options list.

SYS.OWA_UTIL error

Hi all,
I am trying to run a report from Oracle application server and I am receiving the following error. The reports can be accessed from the web and a .Net web application. The reports run without any error when invoked from the web but raise the following error when invoked from the .Net app. I read in one of the posts that we cannot call OWA_UTIL package from a non web environment. I tried that but no luck yet, also tried put all in a single line, but the same error. It doesn't something tricky here, but actual problem with package. "ddl_markers" is new to 11g and not much documentation is available on that.
Also setting ddl_markers=N removed 3 columns from Publisher table, and the effect of it on Subscriber's view is still a gray area,

What is your database version? Our support database lists this as an error connecting to an OLAP 10G instance using UTF32 characterset which is resolved in the product 10.1.0.3 OLAP patch.
At the moment BI Beans 10g is only certified against Oracle 9.2.0.5. The 10g OLAP patch is not currently available, but should be available from Metalink during August.

My ETL job failed due to the below reason .
I am reading 70K records and comparing against 1.5 million records using table comparison transform (pageable cache ) by one primary key against 70 columns .
But the next run went successfully without issue with same dataset.

Bsod after load attempt cycdisk.sys, no error name, massive help?

okay, I have two toshibas now, lol. thanks to my first with vista getting bsod. this bsod explains np error code, and comes after loading cycdisk.sys everytime... I have tried safe mode, system repair, everything... it will not let me on for two secnds to do anything. my husband purchased this laptop less than a year ago and I don't want to toss it because of bsod, that would suck.
long story short, I just blew more cash on another laptop to get online to try and repair this older one.
I am running Vista on the old one, and still under warranty. and ideas? I don't think I have enough time in the warranty to send it anywhere for repairs... but it's less than a year old and such a waste to consider a loss. any suggestions would be helpful.
I've done all the research I can on BSOD, but none of the suggestions online help. what should I do?

Why wouldn't you have enough time to send it in? If it's still under warranty the repair is covered as long as you contact Toshiba and obtain the RMA PRIOR to it expiring. The repair doesn't have to be finished before it expires as long as the RMA Warranty Repair Process has been started.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

GT70-0ND nvlddmkm.sys BSOD error

Hello Everyone.
the last months or so i started getting random BSOD all pointing to nvlddmkm.sys
i got in touch with nvidia to help me solve the problem.
the things i tried:
1) changing registry: add TdrDelay and TdrLevel (per nvidia tech department)
2) clean install of several different versions of nvidia graphics drivers (note i also used Driver-Fusion to clean up registry after each uninstall)
3) Full-system scan for Malware, Virus etc - using several programs, such as: AVG, MalwareByte.... - all returned clean reports.
lastly i tried running "Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool" and Memtest86+.
now both discovered errors!!
Memtest86 was able to complete a full pass with no crashes
but Windows tool crashed twice, once just as i started testing and once just at the beginning of the second pass.

now i wanna test out which RAM module is at fault, by removing them all and inserting them one by one for testing.
the problem im currently having is as follows:
as u open up the laptop cover from the bottom, u can immediately see 2 RAM modules sitting near the CPU & GPU.
but my system has 4 RAM sticks. the other 2 i cannot locate.
if u guys know, could you please tell me where can i locate them and how to remove them?
i rather not disassemble the entire thing.
just in case you wonder, i checked youtube and google for instructions on how exactly to do this.
but all the guides i found only mention the 2 RAM modules i already know about and not the other 2.

SSD: 120GB Patriot Pyro SE
HDD: 750GB WesternDigital 7200rpm
OS: Windows 7-64bit
side-note: system came pre-installed with windows 8 + appropriate UEFI Bios.
as soon as i got the system i formatted it and installed Windows 7-64bit. - switched Bios to LEGACY mode.

i also dont live in the USA, luckily mine is still within the 1 year global warranty.
i actually got this laptop as an RMA replacement because of MSI :censored:up.
i had the GT783R, the graphics card went bad just 1 month after the 1 year global warranty expired. had to send all the way to the USA to fix it (still a better option than buying a new laptop or a replacement graphics card - which almost none sell it.)
well, they replaced my GTX 580M 2GB with a GTX 670M 3GB, calling the 670M "better" than the 580M. if you know your graphics card, a little check up on google can tell u that no! its not better. the 670M is almost equal in performance to the 570M.
anyways after several calls to their tech support and speaking with a manager they agreed to take back my GT783R with them covering shipping expenses and giving me a new laptop, the GT70, in its stead.
luckily for me, Laptop warranty goes according to laptop serial number, meaning my GT70 is still under the 1 year global warranty.
so i can fix it in my own country.
why am i telling you all this?
because prior to sending my GT783R to the USA, i spent almost 2 months troubleshooting the problem and trying to solve it. so im trying to save u some time and headache.
i even tried contacting nvidia tech support to help me solve the problem
eventually the problem wouldnt go away and i had wasted 2 months without a laptop for nothing.
so basically if you run the following tests and everything is fine it most likely the graphics card and it needs to be replaced.
first you can make sure your laptop isnt full of dust inside and the vents arent clogged. then try these:
1) running memtest (several passes) with no errors
2) formatting the laptop to rule out software issues
3) testing several nvidia drivers (the ones the came with the laptop and the latest Stable nvidia release)
4) (nvidia tech rep suggestion) Open NVIDIA Control Panel --> Manage 3D settings.
Go to Program Settings tab.
In the setting window, change the ‘Power Management Mode’ to ‘Prefer Maximum Performance’.
5) (nvidia tech rep suggestion) Please try this registry fix and observe the computer performance.
a) Go to the Registry Editor (Press Windows Logo + R and type "regedit" in the Run window and click ok)
b) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - > System -> CurrentControlSet -> Control -> GraphicsDrivers (make sure Graphics Drivers is highlighted).
c) Right click -> New -> DWORD (32-bit) value -> Name it: TdrDelay -> double click it -> Set it to A (hexadecimal) or 10 (decimal).
If that doesn't work, try disabling it, by adding the following DWORD: TdrLevel and setting the value to 0, then rebooting.
6) updating BIOS to latest version.
****obviously im not responsible for anything that happens to your laptop and you are trying the stuff i mentioned at your own risk.*****
btw, if your laptop suddenly doesnt even recognize your Graphics card i think its toast.
no point wasting time, send it RMA if u can.
