SYSAUX out of space error(1688)

I am running the Beta version of XE and am getting SYSAUX out of space errors in the log. I've also got ORA-1688 unable to extend table SYS.WRH$_LATCH partition WRH$_LATCH_2458660294_3052 by 128 in tablespace SYSAUX.
Looking at the Storage screen in the Administration page SYSAUX is at 97.03% using 485.13 of it's 500 MB of allocated space.
Looking at the tables in SYSAUX it seems that WRI$_OPTSTAT_HISTGRM_HISTORY is taking a large amount of space. What is this table for? Can I clear it down?

I just ran dbms_stats.purge_stats and passed it the current systimestamp but the size of WRI$_OPTSTAT_HISTGRM_HISTORY hasn't changed and the SYSAUX tablespace is still the same size.
Should I have run a different procedure? Or can I safely delete from the table myself (I'd rather not)

Time Machine estimated space is wrong resulting in unexpected out of space error.

I'm running Mountain Lion 10.8.2 on a Mac Pro with a 300 GB boot partition and a 485 GB data partition in a RAID-5 configuration. I have two 2 TB G-Drives attached via firewire for Time Machine backups.
As I understand it, Time Machine (TM) estimates the amount of space it requires to perform an incremental backup. If there is not sufficent room on the backup drive, TM selects a number of previous backups to remove to make space. The problem I've encountered is the amount of space TM estimates is much less then is required.
While TM is performing the backup, in TM preferences the progress message shows the estimated size slowly increasing until it exceeds the amount of space available on the backup drive and eventually leads to the error "The backup disk ran out of space unexpectedly."
I have reviewed the often cited link http://pondini.org/TM/C18.html. I have performed repairs on the two TM backup drives/partitions and on the internal data drive/partition and have done a verify on the internal boot drive/partition. There was one error on one of the backup drives which was repaired and all others passed without errors.
Are there any other steps that can be taken to determine the reason TM cannot accurately estimate the required space for a backup?

After further testing the case ended up being not to do with any of the video codecs at all - somehow the audio was the problem. I tried a few different audio codecs which started working, but then suddenly the original started working as well. I'm not sure what exactly caused the change, but I figured I'd post as much as I knew in case someone else runs into similar problems. Look at the audio is my best guess, I suppose.

Zen Jukebox Xtra 40 gig - out of space error messa

I have 2000 tunes on my Zen and I'm trying to get them in a music file on my notebook. AT song 500 or so I get an error that there is no room left to continue. I have gigs of space left? Using the old Mediasource. Mediasource 5.0 doesn't work with this MP3 player. Never had issues before. Anyone hear about it not allowing you to get all your tunes onto a hard dri've?

Well, after reading the "headphone jack?" thread below, I think that's probably my problem, like so many other people. It seems like I was sold a defecti've product. And now I'm out of the warranty period. So that means, short of organizing a class action, there's nothing I can do, other than foot the bill for fixing a problem created by the company that sold me this product. Version.bundle giving space errors

I'm having trouble with the Version device that was set up with FCS. Although there are 350 gigs of space available, I keep getting out of space errors. When I check a project in, it tries multiple times to copy it to the Version device, giving "error: E_FD, file write error, No space left on device" each time in the Log, and then giving an error of "Error: E_COM Error in comms channel to LDS (LDS did not complete request)" when the job fails.
If I turn off versioning, I can check in projects no problem.
I've checked permissions and added an edit in place URI to the device, as it is on XSAN. I can open up the bundle, and the subfolders allow anyone to write, but will only make files of size 0, as it thinks it is out of space. Any ideas?

Is the version.bundle located on the Xsan?
If so is that folder being stored on an Xsan affinity that has run out of space?

I would get an external drive today and copy all your stuff off the TC.. forget trying to load more onto it. There is a good chance after 3years (A 2TB should be only about 2years tops), the disk or the TC itself is on the way out. Do it immediately. If TM is also failing to backup you need to recognise symtoms of impending doom.
Unfortunately the error messages are archane and it is hard to discover their meaning.
You also cannot verify a network drive.. you can verify the TM sparsebundle though so do that.

Reboot the whole network from off.. certainly if you run later OS it can simply lose the drive..
If you still fail to be able to copy to the TC.. then get that external and copy off it. Tell us if you can do that.

Consequences of out of heap space errors

I'm curious what are the consequences of an out of heap space error. If my application is running and I get a heap space error does this corrupt my application? If I had some variable x = 123 can a out of heap space error corrupt x to make it -123?

No.
Corrupt is to harsh of a word.
However where you run out of space can make your application unusable. For example you might run out of space when loading a new class. Or when creating a new thread. Does your code account for that? If not then that could be a problem.
On the other hand if you are creating a large data structure and at some point you run out of memory then if you just go back to where you started the creation and remove all references then it shouldn't impact your application.

"out of disk space" error with Quicktime export

Hi - just trying to export a fairly small (3 minute) video sequence to record via iDVD. When I try to export the sequence as a Quicktime movie, I get an "out of disk space" error. I don't understand why - the video is not that big, and I have over 30 GB of free disk space. I suspect I'd be able to do it if I deselect the "self-contained" option - but I don't understand why 30 GB of disk space isn't enough.
Other details: FC Express 3.0

Well, I thought everything had been rendered, but I'd missed a couple of transitions. When I tried to render those, I got another "out of memory" error. Turns out I'd misinterpreted what the "minimum scratch disk size" setting meant - it was set to 32000 MB - I thought that meant that 32 GB would be available for storage, but I guess it means that the 32 GB will NOT be available for storage.
Anyway, I changed that minimum to 10000 MB, and now everything works....

Ran j2eeide but "Out of Environment Space" Error

After installing J2SE, J2EE, FORTE & IDE & setting the right HOME_PATHs, I ran the j2eeide in the /forte4j/bin, it showed "Out of Environment Space" error and stoped.
My computer has 64M memory and Windows98.
Could anyone advice me this problem.

"Out of Disk Space" Error When there are 198GB available

We are attempting to capture a two hour video from VHS through an ADVC-300 box. We can capture short videos easily. For some reason we keep getting an "out of disk space" error even though there are 198GB free on the scratch disk which is an external LaCie hooked through USB 2. The settings for the scratch disk have the Limit Capture unchecked.
Any ideas why this is happening? I've seen some postings about timecodes effecting capture, but since this is VHS through a box, that should effect things, right?

dont know if its the cause of the specific error, but USB2 is not at all suitable for capture, especially long captures
USB2 has excellent burst transfer rates but does not have the sustained transfer rate necessary for video capture

You're getting an out of disk space error ... which means you've run out of disk space, no?
Since it's saw related I'm guessing you'll need to make more space available to your OracleBIdata/tmp directory

I'm using FCE HD 3.0 on an iMac 2.66 Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB, running Snow Leopard.
I have over 700Gb available on the internal hard disc.
I'm trying to export a short (under 4 min) movie as a self contained Quicktime file. The footage was captured as DV-PAL anamorphic. On export the status bar says it will take "about a minute" counts down as expected but then stops at 100% and fails to finish. I left it at that point over night last night and when I came back to it this morning I had an "out of disk space" error.
I've tried trashing preferences.
If I export using Quicktime conversion things work fine.

FCE3 isn't supported on recent versions of the OS or QuickTime. Strange things can happen because of this.

Time Machine Error: The backup disk ran out of space unexpectedly.

I keep getting the following message when I try to back up my MacBook using Time Machine: "The backup disk ran out of space unexpectedly. Time Machine will try to make more space available by removing expired backups during the next scheduled backup."
However, I have deleted everything from the external harddrive, which holds 500 GB. I have only used 38.9 GB of space on my computer. The errors being recorded are as follows:

SYSAUX runs out of space.

And the second problem is that SYSAUX runs out of space extremely fast.
I am a junior DBA, so I don't have such permissions like ALTER or MODIFY (i.e. SNAPSHOT_SETTINGS), but I can query v$'s. May be you can suggest where to look.

In the case of out of space situation of sysaux, AWR automatically reuses space by deleting the oldest snapshot.
You can also query V$sysaux_occupants... Especially space_usage_kbytes will give you a clear indication as which component is taking more space for sysaux.

Out of space on server error

Running data sync 1.2 build 579. If I send an email from my Droid 3 and attach a file, the email fails and I get the following error on the phone: "Message not sent. Out of space on the server." Is this normal? Any one else seen this?

go into groupwise connector settings and under "connector settings" there will be a blue link at the bottom of the section titled "advanced", click that. in there you will find a size limit for attachments and the default is 500Kb, i set mine to 10240 (10MB) so i could send pictures from my phone.
