SYSAUX tablespace full and snapshots not deleted

hi all,
I am on 10g linux.
1) my sysaux tablespace is full and i realize there are many awr snapshots lying around.
so i went to my OEM console -> Automatic Workload Repository and this are basically my settings
Snapshot Retention (days) 7
Snapshot Interval (minutes) 60
Collection Level TYPICAL
Next Snapshot Capture Time Sep 25, 2012 8:27:41 AM
However, when i check the amount of snapshots
->
Manage Snapshots and Preserved Snapshot Sets
Snapshots 247
Preserved Snapshot Sets 0
Latest Snapshot Time Sep 25, 2012 7:27:41 AM
Earliest Snapshot Time Jun 27, 2012 10:20:16 PM
q1) i have got 247 snapshots dated as early as Jun 27 but i am only retaining 7 days of snapshots ?
7 * 24 (1 hour snapshot frequency) != 247
there is no snapshot baseline also.
q2) why my latest snapshot time is dated way back to sept 25 ? is it because my sysaux is full for a longtime thus no more snapshot can be taken ? but i thought the retention of 7 days will remove obsolete snapshots ?
Please advise.
Regards,
Noob

Hi,
there are some problem in delete AWR stats.
For example, if the delete takes more 5 minute it's interrupted.
Look which component grows using awrinfo.sql under $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin
You may execute the delete procedure manually than move and rebuild the tables.

I have seven(7) podcasts on my iPhone 4 that iTunes will not delete. iTunes copies them from the phone to the library and will not delete them from the phone when deleted from the library. I have replayed the podcasts over and over and they still won't delete. Podcasts are WSJ Tech briefings.

This happens to several of my podcasts whenever an updated iOS comes out. You can delete the episode directly from the phone by swiping it from left to right. That seems to fix the issue (they drop off the phone and dont reappear on iTunes). It's as if iTunes stops tracking the play count for some shows.
    Hope this helps!

I have a 27" iMac with 16GB of factory installed SDRAM and 1T harddrive.  It is telling me the harddrive is full and is not functioning correctly.  How can I adjust so that all files are managed on the harddrive rather than the SDRAM.  (BTW - design flaw here.)
Older Macs with a single Harddrive would simply expand OS management on the drive, and I think I understand the new Fusion Drive to do just that, but how do I get this product that I spent a great deal of money on to be more than a pretty screen?

I was confused by this statement
It is telling me the harddrive is full and is not functioning correctly.
OS X manages ram and when you run out, it create swapfiles to extend your ram on the HDD (Hard Disk Drive). The OS itself, takes about 16 gig of space and that too resides on the HDD.  Your 16 gig of RAM is really a temporary space that holds things from the HDD so the processor can work on them.  There is no design flaw between your ram and HDD.  Something else is going on and there are a lot of smart people here to help you figure out what that "something else" is.
I would do three things.  First I would create a backup, backups are important.  Second, I would reboot into recovery and repair my HDD.  Lastly while still booted in recovery I would repair permissions.
Can you capture a screen shot of the exact error you are getting?

I am trying to delete an old version of itunes in my ibook G4 so I can install the newest version and can not delete the old version because it says I don't have enough privileges, help?

iTunes is not installing because its incompatible with your OS. When installing the correct version the new version will update the older version, there is no need to uninstall first.
The last version of  iTunes compatible with OSX 10.4 is iTunes 9.2.1
You can down load iTunes 9.2.1 here:

  • SYSAUX tablespace full

    Hi,
What will happen if SYSAUX tablespace size is full and we do not increase the size?
Will the database hang or continue to run?
AFAIK if SYSTEM tablespace is full then database gets hanged.
Edited by: oratest on Feb 13, 2010 11:00 PM

If sysaux tblsp is full, the database would still remain operational except the functionality associated with AWR will not work. I would expect that the snapshots that by default gets gathered every hour cannot be stored anymore unless you increase the sysaux tablespace size.
Your database users would still be able to work normally though.

  • Sysaux Tablespace full 95 Percentage...

    Hi,
I Have a tablespace call sysaux around 2GB.
The total tablespace is used around 1.9 GB and only 100 MB is free.
The 77 % of 1.9 GB is used to store AWR reports.
There are aound 4000 Awr report store in this table space...
I deleted around 3500 awr reports using drop_sanpshot.range option..
After droping this snapshot, still the status for Sysaux tablespaces used is around 1.9 GB.
system is not re-claiming the free disk space ...
What i can do to free up used sapce since, I have very less disk space on the disk itself ...
    SSM

    >>
system is not re-claiming the free disk space ...
Fortunately, Oracle won't reduce the filesize, even if you drop objects inside tablespace.
If you want reclaim space, you need to find your own solution. In your case, exp, recreate database, and import is a way.

  • My MacBook Air keeps alerting that the startup disk is full and I've deleted applications, iTunes and MobileSync backups. What else??

I don't consider myself an advanced Mac user but I'm really trying to use my Macbook Air much more than I do... but the biggest hurdle for me is that it's been alerting me that the startup disk has been full for several months now no matter what I do.  I'm on 10.9.1 OSX and can't even update to the newer version because I'm always out of space.  I have 4GIGs of memory and a 60GB SSD of which 52GB are in use.  Using OmniDisk Sweeper, I see I have 14.6 GB in Library of which 8.1 GB is Mail and 5GB is Application Support (and I have nearly 480 MB in Caches and 191 in Containers, 131MB in Messages).  As for the rest, I've deleted my iTunes content multiple times but my iTunes library STILL says 1.7GBs in Music.  I also have 672MB in Movies which I moved to an external drive and trashed so I'm not sure what still exists here.  I only have 2 movie files and I deleted them both!  I also have 16.9 MB in hob, whatever that is.
I have 32.8 MB in Logs, 19.8 in Safari, 7.9 MB in Calendars, 5.6MB in Google, 4.3MB in Preferences (!!), and 1.6MB in GameKit (not sure what this is), 1.1MB in KeyChains.
I'm just not sure what's going on.  I have everything backed up via SuperDuper on a huge external drive and when I delete on my Mac, it doesn't seem to "take."  Is is syncing that's the problem?  Are my iTunes music files from my iPhone reinstalling back on the Mac as are all my photos and movies?  I don't have that checked in iTunes so that shouldn't be happening either.
Again, I'm not an advanced user so maybe I'm not completing a final step to make sure it doesn't sync with my other devices (I also have an iPad mini).  I like to get messages on my Macbook Air when I'm not near my phone but if it means I have 131MB in Messages that I can't pare down, I'd rather not.  I see no way to reduce the Messages file so that it's not so large.  I definitely want to get a handle on this before I even consider upgrading to a Macbook with more RAM and a bigger hard drive.
Final thoughts: Should I delete my mail accounts and just check mail on the web?  Can I delete most of the files in Application Support or leave them alone?  What's the difference between the MobileSync files and the MSYNC files?
    Thanks in advance for help!

  • HT201250 so what to do when its full and doesn't delete old backups? How can I manually get rid of 2010 backups?

My time machine is full and its SO VERY VERY VERY SLOW SLOW to do anything on it. I want to completelly kill backups from 2010 and 2011. How can I do this? I'd be ok killing all my backups and doing a fresh start.

Another thought: if you are prepared to delete all your backups (as you say), you could experiment by deleting a few early backups, then testing that Time Machine continues to allow restorations of some test file, and will continue to do automatic backups as usual. If so, delete as many old backups as you want. If TM does not continue to behave after the old backups have been deleted, erase the TM disc and start again.

  • Purchased song grayed out and can not delete

I purchase a song and received a permission error. I clicked OK and assumed the download completed. I then purchase another song. There was no error message. Both songs appear in my Music and Purchase folders but the first song is grayed out with an exclamation mark in the first column. I tried to download it again and received a warning message saying I had already downloaded it and a second download would result in a duplicate. I tried to delete the grayed out download and could not.

No available downloads under Store>Check for Available Downloads, but I found a "Download" folder under the "Store" folder. Clicked on that and selected resume and the download completed. The Downloaded folder the disappeared. All is well.

  • My ipad mini has many emails which say 'no content' and are not deletable.  What are they are how do I delete them?

My ipad mini has many emails which say they have no content and I cannot delete them.  The emails do not show up on my MacBook Air.  What are they and how do I get rid of them?

Close the mail app and reset the iPad. Closing apps instructions are for iOS 7. If you're not running iOS 7, I assume that you know how to close apps in iOS 5 or 6. If you don't know how to close apps, just reset the iPad.
To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • The recovey drive. It keeps trying to start but shows error and can not delet it.

Photosmart D7460 wireless printer. is working fine. But can not turn off the the repair drive that was downloaded.

    Hello bk1863,
I'm sorry to say that I'm confused by what you are trying to explain.
The recovery drive is giving an error. What error are you getting?
You can not delete the recovery drive so that is not something you want to do as it's what is used to recovery your computer in case you have to do a complete system recovery.
How does your printer play into this?
Turn off repair drive that was downloaded? Did you download software?
What model computer are you using?
    What operating system?
