Hi,
check whether the listener process is up and running on server.
Also check u have a valid tns entry in ur client software.
u can check this with tnsping utility.
Regards,
X A H E E R..The OP said he was getting "ORA-01031: insufficient privileges".
In order to get that message you have to have actually reached the database.
If you have actually reached the database you can rule out any network/tns issues.
A down listener or bad tnsnames entry could never result in a ora-01031. So checking listeners and tns entries is a waste of time for this problem.

  • No action when trying to login a user from Enterprise Manager!

    Hi guyz,
I have created 10g database on windows server2003, I have configured Enterprise manager but unable to login from EM.
The EM service running fine, and the login page is also coming, but when I gave the username & password with the connection string and hitting the "Login" button there is no action.
The database is up and running, listener is also running, I am able to connect from the command prompt, the emctl status dbconsole says EM is running. Initially I thought the EM configuration had some problems then I dropped the EM repository and recreated it, still unable to login from EM. Any suggestions??
    Thanks & Regards.

No, not even as SYS user, initially the "Login" button was not working, whenever I pressed the login button there was no action, later I changed some of the Internet explorer settings, like changing the ActiveX scripts to enable, etc. Now the "Login" button is working, but even if I give the correct password, it is saying that username or/ and password is wrong.

  • Multiple OC4J instances missing in the Enterprise Manager for a cluster

We have a cluster of 4 OAS instances installed on two Solaris 10 servers. When I login to the Oracle Enterprise Manager, I see only the Administration OC4J Instance. We had this issue earlier but it resolved by itself but this time the issue has been there for quite few days now. Need some help.
    Thanks.

As I told you, this is a normal behavior, so there is no workarround, because it has to work fine later, but if you dont see any change tell me...
How did you configure your Cluster?
in a command line window, run the following in any of the node of your cluster
    opmnctl @cluster status
it have to list all your components, this has to work on any of the nodes.
Also in the opmn.xml check the tags for <topology> in the firsts lines, if you dont have this in the secondary nodes then the cluster may not be working.

  • SSO from Solution Manager to Wily Enterprise Manager issue

    Hi,
We are facing problem in SSO from Solution Manager to Wily Enterprise Manager. We have done the configuration as per the Wily Enterprise Guide- "Introscope Version 8 Installation Guide For SAP" Page 38.
Our Solution Manager system is running on AIX platform and Wily Enterprise Manager is on Windows 2008.
This is what we are trying
SOLMAN Production Client --> SOLMAN_WORKCENTER --> INTROSCOPE WORKSTATION --> this opens a new browser page and from there we click on Start Introscope -->
Result --> SSO doesn't work, still we get login window.
Introscope Enterprise Manager logs says -->
9/12/11 10:47:17 PM BST [WARN] [Manager] Single sign on failed: No SAP single sign on ticket was found in the request header.
Note: Another Solution Manager system in our landscape (on windows 2008 platform) is connected to same Wily Enterprise Manager (windows 2008) and from this solution manager SSO to Wily Enterprise Manager is working.
Please help me with your expertise to solve this problem.
    Best Regards

    Hello Singh,
Could you check if you have maintained these parameters in instacne profile ?
    From SCN post -> http://scn.sap.com/thread/969538
    Hi Hector,
To configure SSO as per initial setup guide, please check your profile parameters in your Solution Manager as below:
You have set up SSO, see also:
SAP Note 817529: Checking the SSO Configuration
Installation Guide and Security Guide for SAP Solution Manager
Create the following profile parameters in the instance profile:
    login/create_sso2_ticket = 2
    login/accept_sso2_ticket = 1
icm/host_name_full = fully qualified server name
This parameter must be attributed to the fully qualified server name (for example wdfd002568.wdf.sap). The name must contain at least two periods. See also SAP Note 434918.
    Hope this helps,

  • Cannot login as sysdba in Oracle Enterprise Management Console

    Hi,
I have recently installed Oracle 9.2.0.4 in Red Hat Linux 9.
I ran "oemapp console" to launch the Oracle Enterprise Manager Console Standalone. However, everytime I tried to login as:
    user: sys
    password: <sys password>
    connect as: sysdba
I always get ORA-01031: insufficient privileges.
The Oracle database where I cannot connect as sysdba in OEM was created MANUALLY.
However, I can successfully login to OEM as sysdba if the database was created using Database Configuration Assistant...
So I might have missed out some configurations when I creasted the database MANUALLY...
    any ideas??
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards
    Prasanna

    Hi there once more,
Of course it is possible that user system has the same problems as user sys (insufficient privs)....
In that case try to log on as internal/pwd@dbname as sysdba to perform the trick.
    Good luck!
    Regards,
    Georges.

  • Enterprise manager & sql* plus login failed

    hi
this is the problem i encountered yesterday:
there are server_3 and rs_16 machines which are in D1 domain and server_1 in W1 workgroup. server_3 and rs_16 has no oracle software whatsoever and on server_1 8i database exists. other machines with 8i clients, all in D1 domain, succesfully connect to server_1.
i installed 10g database on server_3 machine; after installation i created a database db1. after the database was created, i tried to start enterprise manager (EM) and it failed (the database is not mounted ....), and i found out that tns listener wasn't created during the installation. so i created tns listener and started EM again and browser showed the proper page (username and login). so i entered sys as username, pswrd (created during the installation) and connect as sysdba. when i clicked on login button, the page refreshed but nothing happened, the same page (login) was still opened. i tried to connect from rs_16 and the same thing happened. this happened using internet explorer for opening EM. i tried to login as system, sysman but all in vain.
then i installed 10g on rs_16, created db2 database and found out that tnsnames.ora file was missing. created db3 as well, and all went ok. started EM, tried to login and the same thing happened as on server_3, browser just refreshed the page.
also have to say that i tried to connect to databases using sql* plus and login also failed.
also tried using administration assistent for windows and tried to connect to db3. when i tried to connect as sys acount (database authentication) login failed, but when i used os authentication i succeeded.
then i tried to start EM from another machine rs_13 (D1 domain) using internet explorer and i succeeded, there was no problem at all. after all, i installed mozilla firefox (1.0.6) on rs_16 and succesfully started EM for any database i wanted. but have to mention that i still can't connect to any db using sql* plus.
    rs_13 setup:
    - win 2000 + sp4
    - ie 6.0.2600.0000IC
    and rs_16:
    - win xp + sp2
    - ie 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2
    server_3:
    - windows server 2003
on every machine i was logged in as top administrator so i had any possible permission.
    could anybody answer these questions:
    1. why tnsnames.ora wasn't created?
    2. why tns listener wasn't created?
    3. why couldn't i start EM using ie on server_3 and rs_16 and could on rs_13?
    4. why did login fail using sql* plus and why can't i still connect to any db using sql* plus? is it a problem of assigning some privileges or something else?
    5. why did login fail using database authentication while succeeded using windows authentication in administration assistent for windows? what should i do to make it succeed? is this all problem due to ie browser, win security or oracle security?
    6. why microsoft is giving me a hard time with their security?
    thanks for help in advance
hope this post will help someone else as well !!

    could anybody answer these questions:
    1. why tnsnames.ora wasn't created?
    2. why tns listener wasn't created?I think you cancel Network Configuration Assistan which would create tnsnames.ora and listener. I hope others help you with the other questions I have plenty of work

  • Problem with login using Oracle Enterprise Manager

I am new to Oracle. I installed the software (my Operating System is Windows XP) and created a database following the guidelines in the documentation and Oracle By Example. Now I can not log on as the user SYS through the Enterprise Manager. However, I can login through SQL Plus. I am using the password that I assigned during the installation.
In OBE, I got stuck at the step where you check the status of (or start) the dbconsole. I went to the DOS prompt and typed:
    emctl status dbconsole
    I got the error:

If anyone can explain what the problem is, I'd appreciate it.

    Hi
    Try to increase socket limits
Normally you can do this within the admin console , Servers -> Configuration -> Tuning -> Socket Readers
For you, since you can't login, set the ThreadPoolPercentSocketReaders in the config.xml to a higher value than 5
    kind regards

Thank you guys for all your replies! It works after I stop the iptables service. But if I want to keep the firewall, how should I configure iptables please? Could you give me an example? My iptables look like this:

  • After install oracle 10g, enterprise manager web version, can not login

    Hi Guru,
I have installed oracle 10g on windows xp pro sp2 successfully, can use sqlplus to connect to DB, but when using IE to login enterprise manager web version port 1158, it failed. The login page came out, but when I keyed in the right userid/password ie sysman/pwd1234, the login screen just refreshed, nothing happen. but if I purposely key in wrong userid or password, the message "invalid userid or password" comes out.
Another "interesting" thing is, I can login web version isqlplus successfully using the same userid/password. but can not connect to web version isqlplus/dba, even I use user sys, also can not login.
Need your urgent help to solve this problem.

    Hi.
    What does the log say?

  • Enterprise Manager 10g Access Without DB Login

    Hello All --
I am working on a large EBS implementation and we are running Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control. I would like to be able to see database performance through EM, but there is a problem (isn't there always.)
    1. EM monitoring like this requires a DB login
    2. Our policy prevents granting any non-DBA a DB login for security reasons.
    3. I am not a DBA (and won't be one.)
Is there any way that a DB login can be created that only has access to performance data in EM without letting me read any actual database data? I know this is a bit of an oxymoron, perhaps what I am asking is if there is a way to have a DB login created for me that only allows me to read system-related info and nothing related to apps data for EBS that is stored in the DB.
    Thanks!
    PML

    Hi,
Login to your database as a sys user and change password for all users except sysman and dbsnmp because there is different method to change sysman and dbsnmp users password.
After changing the password of users and then try login to your OEM as a sys user.

  • Problem in Login to Enterprise Manager Cosole

I have installed ORACLE 9i Rel:9.0.1.0.1, after configuring the Mangement Server when I am trying to load Enterprise Manager Console program and when I enter username and password, I got an error says "Incorrect Login Credentials". If anybody can help me to solve this problem I will appriciate it.
    Thanks

    Ashar Najum,
The initial username and password for the OEM console is username: SYSMAN password: oem_temp for OEM version 2.2. After you log in the first time, it will ask you to change the password. From there, you can create other dba's to log in from their consoles to the same managment server.
    Hope that helps!
    Sincerely,
    Rob Kaegy
