Syspro Star Office Intergration

I have been using Microsoft Excel when automatically extracting data from Syspro. Now i am using Star Office as my spreadsheet package and Syspro is not exporting to Star Office Calc.Can anyone assist with ideas either from Star Office side or from the Syspro side

The latest version of SYSPRO 6.1 includes a new setting to specify the spreadsheet program you wish to use with SYSPRO. You can use Star Office instead of Excel.

  • Star Office 9 on Windows Server 2008 64Bit with Citrix Xen App 5.0

    Good day,
    I have Star Office 9 already installed on my private PC and now want to install it also on Terminal Sever with OS Windows 2008 64 Bit and Citrix Xen App 5.0 . Is there anybody who has experience with such an installation, can inform me if it works and maybe what I have to consider on installation ??
    Thanks for your help
    rgds
    A.Reinhardt

    Here's what I have been doing to get OpenOffice.org working
    on our Citrix Farm using a Win2K/Win2K3 mixed-mode domain.
    the same applies to StarOffice.
    These were the goals:
    - Give any user who wants/has to work with an Office Suite
    access to OpenOffice.org by simply putting him into a
    group.
    - The installation must work in a way the user does not have
    to interact (read: I do not want to allow his interaction
    because he is definitely going to make the wrong choices)
    The painful way to the goal (as far as I got now):
    Note 1: While most files are included here, some are missing
    (like 100kb registry settings) but can be requested
    from the author.
    Note 2: Some of the scripting is ugly and may be useless.
    It has evolved quite a bit since I started it, so
    it's kinda messy. Nevertheless it works quite well
    here, so I wouldn't want to touch it...
    OVERVIEW
    This solution consists of the following parts:
    - modified setup file (optional)
    - responsefiles fr base and workstation (=user) installation
    - installation script
    - domain logon (sub)script
    I modified the setup file (setup.inf) to stop the installer from giving me things
    I don't want. I have tried numerous ways to do this with StarBasic but failed.
    I tried the forums, I had contact with Sun developers - it simply wouldn't work
    the way it was supposed to.
    The installation script is simple. It's just there to make life a little easier
    for the sorry guy who has to install a new machine. I tried to use a packager
    to do the base installation and it horribly barfed, but then again that was in
    the days before 1.1.x. It works like this so I left it untouched.
    The major part is the domain logon script. There, we check if the user has access
    to OpenOffice.org, check for the presence of various files and try to build his
    environment as needed, taking various quirks and problems into account.
    The logon script needs a connection to a share on a fileserver/SAN/NAS. For us,
    it's still a fileserver, but it's the one holding the profiles, too, so if this
    one wouldn't be available login would be broken, anyway. I did this so I could
    slipstream newer files to the users' workstation installation if I needed to, later on.
    INSTALLATION
    In my installation folder, I have the following files:
    Code:
    dir install ; OpenOffice.org files (incl. modified setup.inf)
    file common.xcu ; Modified common.xcu where I set an additional
    ; template folder, for example
    file instbase.rsp ; Responsefile for base installation
    file instuser.rsp ; Responsefile for user's workstation installation
    file jobs.xcu ; Modified jobs.xcu (removed registration request)
    file MasterInstall.kix ; Script to install on a Citrix machine
    file OpenOffice-Associations.reg ; Override for document type associations
    file wkix32.exe ; kixtart w32 executable
    To install, make a shortcut to "wkix32.exe MasterInstall.kix" and doubleclick Wink
    You should be administrator on the Citrix machine, of course. As you can see from
    the script, installation mode is switched on automatically.
    Set your '$destination' as needed!
    Code:
    ========== MasterInstall.kix ==========
    ; OpenOffice.org 1.1.2 Master-Installation fr Citrix
    ; Installiert OpenOffice nach D:\Programme\OpenOffice
    ; wgi 2004/04/28 (identisch mit OpenOffice 1.1.1)
    DEBUG Off
    ; Installation anhand des Response-Files
    $Destination = "D:\Programme\OpenOffice\"
    shell "change user /install"
    ? "Installiere nach "+$Destination
    ; * This would be a good place to copy some of the fonts
    ; * or other stuff to the machine
    shell ".\install\setup.exe -r:..\instbase.rsp"
    SHELL "regedit /s OpenOffice-Associations.reg"
    SHELL "change user /execute"
    MessageBox("Installation nach "+$Destination+" beendet.","Total schn, ey ;-)",64,60)
    ========== MasterInstall.kix ==========
    Let's have a look at instbase.rsp:
    Code:
    ========== instbase.rsp ==========
    [Environment]
    INSTALLATIONMODE=INSTALL_NETWORK
    INSTALLATIONTYPE=SPECIFY
    DESTINATIONPATH=D:\Programme\OpenOffice
    LANGUAGELIST=49
    MIGRATION=YES
    StartProcedure=PreSetup
    EndProcedure=PostSetup
    [Module_Specify]
    wgiModule=gid_Module_Prg_Wrt_Bin,gid_Module_Prg_Wrt_Help, [.......]
    InstallModuleSet=wgiModule
    [JAVA]
    JavaSupport=preinstalled_or_none
    [Windows_Desktop_Integration]
    Register4MsWord=Yes
    Register4MsExcel=Yes
    Register4MsPowerPoint=Yes
    RegisterAsDefaultHtmlEditor=No
    [Procedures]
    Sub PreSetup
    ShowSetup
    End Sub
    Sub PostSetup
    SetReboot( False )
    HideSetup
    End Sub
    ========== InstBase.rsp ==========
    Some leftover stuff from trying to exclude some modules here, I just didn't clean it up.
    Remember to set 'DESTINATIONPATH' to what you need.
    Note that we do a "INSTALL_NETWORK". Although most people in the forums agreed that it doesn't work, it does - at least since 1.1.0.
    Near the end of Masterinstall.kix I import some registry settings. For some reason,
    OpenOffice.org's method of setting the associations does not work for me on a Citrix
    (Terminal Server) machine, although it seemed to be the right way to do it. Worked
    on XP workstations, for example, but it looks like Terminal Servers treat this differently.
    So I exported the registry settings, changed the tree to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, imported them again and voila, it works. File can be requested from the author, unfortunately you'd have to replace all occurences of the path to your own path.
    Should be easier to repeat the described process.
    At this point, we're all set with out new Citrix machine. We can take a look at the
    Domain logonscript now.

  • "error in accessing Star office configuration data"

    Hi I'm posting this on behalf of someone who has Star Office 7 pre-installed on their PC. They are no longer able to open Star Office and are getting the message in the title above. Their message to me is below:
    the exact message is Star office cannot be started due to
    an error in accessing Star office configuration data
    It is not a trial version it was with the comuter when I bought it from Aldi.
    It is Version 7 Star Office. I have not recently added any more programs, or changed the way i am running the computer.
    I cannot find this issue reported in the forum. i have found a similar open office issue in the faq.
    OpenOffice.org fails to start, and the following error message appears:
    OpenOffice can not be started due to an error in accessing the OpenOffice.org configuration data.
    Please contact your system administrator.
    The following internal error has occurred: Get Storage: "No Content".
    The message often occurs because a file named Common.xcu becomes corrupted. In most cases, this file becomes filled with 0s. The problem seems to occur most often in Windows, possibly as a result of a crash or an improper exit while OpenOffice.org was open.
    http://documentation.openoffice.org/faqs/various_topics/019.html
    are they comparable? if so, could someone advise on transfering the recommended action to Star Office 7? Thanks! Nick

    I am assuming that you are referring to a Windows system.
    SO7 and OOo1.1.x are based on the same OOo build series - 645. Most of the time comments about one apply to the other, except in the case of SO7 commercial addons. (SO8 is 680).
    The error message indicates that their is corruption in some kind in the User data found in
    \StarOffice7\User.
    The easy way to fix it is to back up the User folder, then delete it and let SO7 rebuild the user data.
    You can try backing up and deleting Common.xcu only--it's found in two places, in both the Share and User folders.
    \registry\data\org\openoffice\Office
    I suspect the one in Share is used for the creation of the one in User, but I am not sure.

  • Star Office files as attachments treated as "zipped"

    I just finally got around to upgrading my wife's iMac to Tiger - and it seems to have created a problem...
    She does some work for folks who use Star Office, and frequenty gets Star Office files as attachments. Under Panther, this was no problem - the files arrived as Star Office documents which she could click on to open in NeoOffice; however, with Tiger it seems that Mail is interpreting the .sxw extension as a "zipped" file, causing problems opening the documents from within Mail. Files sent to her as .swx files are showing in Mail as .swx.zip in the body of the email, and just as .swx in the attachments list. Whether she clicks on the Star Office attachment in the email body, or from the attachments list, Mail gives a warning that the file appears to be a zip file and could contain an application.
    If she clicks "ok" on the warning, the file will usually open in NeoOffice as before -- but this is still bugging her (and therefore comes back to me). The worse part is that it seems that when she sends .sxw files, the people receiving them are now having problems.
    Is there a setting somewhere that I can change to fix this? Or could this be a new "bug" introduced in Tiger's Mail?

    Unfortunately, that does not resolve the problem. The Star Office files open fine in NeoOffice if she first saves it somewhere rather than trying to open it from within Mail.
    I have done some more testing and discovered that it is definitely a Mail related problem... I had her send me a .swx file, and in Mail I had the same problem as she's having. Got the warning message about it being a zipped file, etc. (actually, if you click it from within the body of the email, after clicking "ok" to the warning it appears that BOMArchiver - or whatever the built-in zip utility is - tries to unzip it).
    I then tried using Thunderbird to receive the mail with the .swx attachment. No problems there at all -- it did not appear as a .zip file, and there were no warnings.
    So, I've concluded that it has something to do with Mail - and it's a new problem with Tiger, she never had the problem in Panther.

  • Just downloaded Star Office suite!!

    As header says just downloaded STAR office as I cannot get along with MS which keeps losing certain files!! You know the ones REQUIRED to operate it!! The ones you have to reload EVERY time you wish to send or do ANYTHING!!!
    Anyway, I am typing a letter and the formatting is continually changing (I am NOT altering it, it is set at DEFAULT) and nothing seems to work? Spellcheck is not working (From toolbar or F7 or TOOLS Spellcheck?). Asks me if I would LIKE to start at beginning of document, then says in an instant it has finished checking and there are NO mistakes?? See if you can spot it then? Pople (People) and unsertain (Uncertain?) Just TWO errors. BUT if I try to alter them myself the word I click on is highlighted and then REMOVED!! And I lose all the formatting and words are removed from the middle of the page??
    REALLY beginning to worry I have made a wrong choice. Even this forum is designed for BOFFINS!!! It has taken me at least twenty minutes just to arrive at this forum; but that POSSIBLY give you an insight into my ability??

    hello cornea1, try to disable "encrypted connection scanning" within kaspersky's settings > additional > network.

  • I need help - I can't open Star Office 8 anymore on my Windows XP system

    Right now, every time I open Star Office 8 on my Windows XP system, I get a message box that says "This version has expired." And that's it. I don't know what to do. PLEASE HELP ME!

    You have the trial version (90 days)?
    Try changing the system-date backwards. If SO starts, which date is shown in the titlebar?
    If SO doesn't start after this, try a repairinstallation.

  • Display report using star office

    Hi...Need some light on this,,,How to display abap report using Star offce instead of MS excel???? Thanks

    If Star Office (??) is OLE compliant, you will need to issue a CREATE OBJECT 'WHATEVER.THE.REGISTRY.ENTRY.NAME.IS.HERE'.
    Then once it is activated on the client system, you will need to issue OLE automation commands from ABAP to the Star Office client.
    You will probably need an Object Browser to help you with the Star Office commands to pass the ABAP info down to the client.

  • Star office with roaming profiles help please

    Hope someone can help me
    I have installed star office on a networked computer where the users profile and application data is situated on a win 2003 server (roaming profiles and folder redirection)
    in a stand alone environment i.e no folder redirection the product works great with no problems
    (on the same computer)
    when i log in as a user that has folder redirection in place the software overall becomes very un-responsive
    Symptoms
    Launcher taking upto 30-40 seconds to open
    Once program is open just simple things like opening the file menu can cause the program to become unresposive (not responding message in toolbar)
    then maybe after 2--40 seconds it will come alive again
    all the time this is happening i am able to access other programs on the computer without any problems
    I have tried this on several computers in the office and its the same on all of them, the computer i am doing my main testing on, is a brand new DELL system dual core with 1Gb RAM and windows XP service pack 3
    Any help or suggestions welcome
    Thankyou
    Macman73

    I'm having the exact same problem. When using roaming profiles and folder redirection StarOffice is often not responding when using commands as save, open etc. Often it becames alive again after a few minutes, but sometimes not.
    I'm using a Linux server with Fedora and Samba. Clients are WinXPpro with Staroffice8.
    All computers in the company has the same problem.
    Hope someone can help me and macman73 with this problem...

  • How to add Outlook equivalent to Star Office

    If Star Office does not include an Outlook equivalent, what can be used to get it? My primary concern is being able to sync a PDA using the equivalent of Active Sync or Active Sync itself. After that is access to a history of emails.
    Any suggestions?

    You can Use Thunderbird http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/, to Sync with your PDA check this out http://www.downloadsquad.com/2007/02/26/how-to-sync-your-pocket-pc-with-thunderbird-mobile-minute/

  • ODBC or OleDB access TO Star Office-Base

    Is there OleDB or ODBC providers to allow external apps access TO a star office database?

    Since MFC is being used, and MFC supports DAO and ODBC, but DAO is deprecated, leaving ODBC, I suggest using the MFC classes like CDataBase with ODBC for both Access and SQL Server.  That would be easiest since it is just one interface to have to
    learn.  If performance with Access is too slow, then switch to ADO or OLEDB.  This sounds like a batch import/export utility, so maybe performance isn’t so much of a concern (e.g. it could run overnight if need be).
    I would also make sure this couldn’t be written in C# and ADO.NET, as these are a clean set of technologies that actually seem to have been planned out instead of the mish mash of things we see in the native world.
    Thanks,

    Hi BDAqua:
    I have all on a USB 2.0 portable drive: the entire user folder.
    The computer has a previus user, from the former owner:
    - "Powerbook" (this is the original user for me, I get the titanium with this user only)
    - I create a new account: Pilar Ponce de León (pilarponcedeleon).
    - Give to the new account administration privilleges.
    - Trash all the content of the pilarponcedeleon folder on the computer, and put in that place teh content of the backed up user (also named pilarponcedeleon).
    - Boot from the new user, and is done.
    After a couple of day running only from pilarponcedeleon, I delete the "Powerbook" account.
    Then I need to access the computer, adn can see it from ARD, but always shows the "Login Window" as the active application, and I have to go to the computer for teaching or seting up things... and with the old iBook, same user, everithing works fine, since I run from my computer, and solve any problems.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks a lot,
    Pablo

  • Wot, no trial version of Star Office?

    As a newbie to Linux computing I know I get OpenOffice as a free application but if I need to import documents from my office that have been created in MS Office it is not a smooth process. This made me consider Star Office, but, there doesn't appear to be a free trial version to tempt me and I'm not one for going down the road of 'Buy now and get your money back if you're not satisfied'. I don't mind limited trial periods ... this should at least give me time to test the application and then, if I feel happy with it, I will buy!!
    So what have you to offer here?

    >
    I have found that using the official OpenOffice
    builds that are located at openoffice.org are more up
    to date and with more functionality than the ones
    supplied with the Linux distros.To which version do you refer? I have version 2.2
    >
    What I can say is that the function in Star Office is
    99% the same as in Open Office - the reason for no
    'try before you buy' is that you have OpenOffice
    available to try for free.What are the main differences between OpenOffice and Star Office and how do they compare with Microsoft Office 2003?
    >
    I notice you said that you need to import documents,
    what are you trying to open - is it just word and
    excel files? If so you can just do "File, Open" and
    this should open your old MS file without a problem.I also use Micrsoft Access
    >
    If you can be more specific to your issue we will try
    and help you further.I am an I.C.T. volunteer at our local Community Centre and am trying to persuade members of the committee that it may be worth their while taking a look at what OPENSUSE 10.1 has to offer, especially as it comes for free and could make a considerable difference, both in financial savings and reliability.

  • Collaboration on a Star Office Document

    Hello everyone,
    how can several people work on the same Star Office document (or MS Office document opened with Star Office 8), providing for the "read-only" mode for all but a single user? Is there any option allowing to use a document as a "read-only" (and even better - password-based, like in MS Office)?
    Thank everyone for help.
    Mike Faynberg

    Hi
    You can share files from any location on any Mac. Where you end up storing them depends on who you want to allow access to your computer. Let me give you two examples (although there are more configurations you can use).
    A - If you are the only person in your office, and have both a MBP and a Mac Pro, you can turn on File Sharing on either computer, and from the other computer, locate the computer in the sidebar of the Finder, click "Connect As", and enter your other Mac's admin name and password. You will then be able to connect to the entire hard drive. You can therefore share files from any folder across the network.
    B - If you share the office with someone else that you don't want to give access to your whole drive or even your user files, but want to share only certain files, turn on File Sharing, and store the shared files in your Public folder. When the other person clicks on your computer name in their Finder sidebar, they'll automatically see your Public folder (they don't need to use "Connect As", since it will automatically log in as a guest). The possible disadvantage of this method is that you must store any needed files in "Public" before the other person can get to them.
    You turn on File Sharing in System Preferences, under Sharing. As I say, there are other sharing possibilities, but I've given you the two extremes of the spectrum.
    You might also want to look at Dropbox, which is a third-party solution (free for up to 2GB). It is best for individuals with multiple computers, or within a small company. It gives you a single shared folder called "Dropbox" which is automatically synced across all computers on which you have installed the software with your account.
    Hope that helps.
    Matt
