System activation code query

I recently purchased a Lenovo Ideapad S10e with SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 preinstalled. I have created an account with Novell but the site asks for an Activation code to register my system. My documentation from Lenovo doesn't even mention Linux (it's all Windows) much less provide an Activation code.
When I run Novell Customer Center Configuration from YaST it goes through a process which at the end says:
Your configuration was successful
An update server has been added to your configuration
At no point am I asked to create an account I can use to access the Novell Customer Center website.
The Novell Customer Center Configuration entries it creates do mention a username but it's a 32 character hex string which the Novell Customer Center website doesn't accept.
Although I guess the key thing is I have the necessary Configured Software Catalogs and they do seem to work, I wonder if they will only work for a limited period?
I know with preinstalled Windows the onus is on the PC Manufacturer to support the software, would the same be true with SUSE Linux preinstalled by Lenovo?

I used the restore disc and set up the Novell Customer Center Configuration during the initial installation. I told it to include registration information under the "Include for convenience" section... I don't recall that in YaST. It did some stuff, taking forever, and eventually landed me at a Novell web page where I was prompted to click "Continue." There was no prompt for a serial number or anything. After a few more minutes of doing whatever it was doing and accepting Novell's public keys, I ended up with functioning updates. Yay!
That said, I've discovered that the 4GB model I have doesn't even have enough leftover space to apply the updates. LOL!
I'm going to try Ubuntu Netbook Remix and Moblin but, like you, I'll probably settle with the latest regular Ubuntu (or as much of it as I can fit on the drive!)

Just to clarify - in terms of backing up one set of these, would that just be so I had it on disk and didn't need to re-download from Adobe if the installation got corrupted somehow? Or do I need a backup for some other reason?

Trying to track down Activation Code

A gentleman in our department at work has been using Adobe Premiere Pro since March of 2009. He retired recently and the license was moved over to someone else in the department. The system has been working fine since January, however there has been an upgrade to the PC in the office the software was loaded on, and we need to re install and activate. The problem is no one can find the disk, box it came in, or any emails that would have the activation code. Is there anyway to find out this information?

I looked at your post this morning and did not know enough to respond, other than to find out that links to iListen now go to newer, renamed software. Considering it's been nine hours with no response, I'm suspecting few people here have experience with that software. You could contact the current copmany that used to sell that package and see if they have any archived support info.
BTW: please check you entry for "Mac OS" in your profile. It says iOS, which cannot run on an iMac. iOS is the system for phone and iPads but can't run on Mac computers. Do "About this Mac" from the Apple menu and see what it says about the OS version. Should look like this:

I need to find the Netflix activation code for NS-BRDVD3

I bought this as an open box today and everything works great, but the Netflix has already been activated with someone else's account. While it was fun for a while searching through their queue and their recently watched movies (they seem to like raunchy teenage sex comedies), I'd really like to set my account up on there. Is there anyway to find out what the code is?

There was not a netflix option under the Networking menu. The first thing I tried was resetting the system to factory defaults, and it triggered the "try netflix" popup, but it kept the old netflix user's account in there. Later (after tweeting with someone on twelpforce) I decided to try it one more time. That time it deleted the old account and gave me the activation code. So everything is great now. Problem in Transferring activity ID structure to activity codes

I am working on a power plant schedule. We have two sets of structure for Activities i.e. Activity ID consisting of 10 digits and activity codes. we have setup a database as per our requirement. People who have worked on Power plant projects might be aware that there are two many systems involved the numbers runs into few hundreds.
For a certain specific client requirement I have to use activity ID structure in place of activity codes. For this i need to transfer all system name and description in Activity ID to Activity Codes....its a tedious process. if anyone had encountered such a problem please revert back

This might be an area where the project.xls file would prove useful. It used to be available on the Primavera Knowledgebase, I assume Oracle has it on theirs as well. I assume, because I can't access the KB anymore.
Anyway, using Project.xls (or projectmod.xls) you can connect to the data dictionaries and create values much more quickly. Activity.xls (or activitymod.xls) allows you to assign values to activities pretty efficiently.
It has worked for us many times.

Well yes, they did take the computer with them.
No changes were made to the computer, either in Spain or before they came back. No OS changes, no hardware changes.
PSE worked in the UK, worked in Spain but would not work when they returned to the UK. They were in Spain for about 8 months, which makes me wonder whether the Spanish IP address block they were using triggered something in the Adobe Activation system. A bit like using your credit card abroad......
Adobe support have been absolutely *awful* over this matter: not only did they refuse to accept there may be an issue with their activation system, they then pre-emptively closed the support case. I have re-opened it, now they refuse to acknowledge e-mails concerning the case. And every time you do post they say they will get back to you "within 24 business hours" which simply doesn't happen. (case #204362758 in case you Adobe forum guys are mediating...)
So, if you're new to these forums, know this: there is a major issue with Adobe's activation system in PSE8 which will stop working randomly and disable the software you have legitimately purchased. Adobe will then not accept there is a fault. You have been warned, folks!
My client (the end user) ended up in an on-line support chat with someone called Bhavya who really could not have been less helpful if he tried....
I'll keep banging on the door, but there's the info...

CS Premium Activation Code Needed

I have Adobe CS Premium. 14 Months ago I tried to web activate it on my new computer and I could not. I contacted Adobe and you gave me an activation code over the phone. Everything worked fine on my Win Prem 7 Op System. In fact it worked better than on my old XP system. A Windows Update crashed my entire system. Now I am reinstalling it again on the same system and I need to get another activation code. Help!

Did you try using the same code as was given to you the last time? If not, try it. If you did not retain it, you might be able to find it in your Adobe account online.
Otherwise, you need to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone when you have serial number and activation issues.

Where do I enter a new activation code for CC LR and PS trial versions?

My Creative Cloud Photography trial has expired. I purchased a 500px Awesome + Adobe CCP membership. I have the Adobe CCP activation code they [500px] provided in front of me. Both LR and PS are installed on my system and load when I click on them, but they simply say the activation period has expired.
My problem is that I can find NO place in the menus of LR, PS, or the Creative Cloud app to enter my activation code. After a software trial expires I expect to see a slot to enter a new activation code in order to restart the program but nothing is popping up in any of the programs nor in their menus. How do I reactivate these programs [and please understand that uninstalling / reinstalling is not an option due to a slow internet connection]?
Please be very clear on how I am to do this, especially if I need to do it through the installed Creative Cloud app that lists these programs. Thanks.

Adobe Illustrator asking for the Activation Code!

Hi, all!
I am using AI CS5. I installed AI CS5 with Windows HP and Dell Destop. I didn't get the alert of Activation Code and I can use it without any interruption. But now I installed AI CS5 in my laptop (32-bit Operating System) Dell N5010. I got the alert saying that it needs the Activation Code installed so that I can use for ever and no limit. Now my AI CS5 in the Laptop attempts me to install a new Activation Codes.
I sometimes get this and that.

First, it would be wise to REMOVE YOUR SERIAL NUMBER FROM YOUR SCREENSHOT.
Second, if your purchased number is not working, call Adobe Customer service. We're just users here, like you. We can't help with activation and serial number issues.

Activation code not working

I own a version of Adobe Photoshop CS2. Sadly a little while ago my PC murdered itself with a Mother Board malfunction (or something of that nature) and the computer had to be tossed. Now that I have a new PC I'm trying to reinstall Photoshop but it is complaining the serial number is invalid.
Tech support, or whoever I was transferred to on the phone, said the serial number was accurate and should be working. The only thing they could discern as an issue was the operating system, which went from Windows XP to Windows 7.
Naturally they tried to tell me it was a compatibility issue but I get no such error message and the program works perfectly when you use the trial version.
But because I've been asked like 10 times today, no I don't have a trial version. I have the full version which allows a trial if you are missing the code. The version I have was purchased as a CD, not a download and I have the serial number on the back of the CD case. My CS2 is an upgrade from Photoshop 5.5, which I also have in front of me with it's activation code. I was told I'd need to type in 5.5's code after getting passed the CS2 activation window, but it's CS2 that's bogging me down and being pragmatic.
I'd like to know how to get the program working. Being told CS2's compatibility issue lies in the acceptance of the serial code is absolutely frustrating. I could understand if the program didn't work at all, but it does. Perfectly. It just won't take my code no matter how many times I type it in and double, triple and quadruple check that I put it in right.
The exact error I'm getting is "You must enter a valid serial number before activating online or viewing activation options. Please check your serial number and re-enter it, or click the Purchase button to buy a copy of this product."

You are running an application on a system for which it was never designed. Things are changing re: security, and Photoshop CS2 has no knowledge of that.
Try this:
Either run Photoshop "As Administrator", or turn off Windows UAC on your entire system (with required reboot) then run it.
If you DO disable UAC, you might want to read up on what UAC does for you (running your apps with only user privileges, redirecting some disk operations, etc.) and understand the benefits/risks before choosing to leave it disabled.

Activation code master collection

I have a MacPro with two startup disks: one with 10.8.4 and one with 10.6.8. The disk with the older system is only used on the rare occasions that I need my old NikonScan software, which won’t run under 10.8.4.
The Adobe Master Collection is installed on the 10.8.4 disk and runs perfectly. However, yesterday I started up the computer from the 10.6.8 disk to scan some slides with NikonScan. Then, after returning to the 10.8.4 disk, Photoshop told me I was at the beginning of a 30-day trail period unless I entered an activation code. I have the activation code, but when I enter it I’m told that it is not correct, while I’m sure I enter the correct code.
Please tell me what to do.

Jeff, I am referring to the serial number. I am using the exact number as it is on my account at adobe.com, but still I’m told that this number is not correct.

Recover Windows 8 activation code with a crashed drive

I have checked the other posts but I can't find this issue. My friend has an HP 2000 (no other numbers or serial numbers anywhere.) Her drive crashed and burned. It won't work in any computer or my docking station. It just clicks for a while and then stops and then starts up again. Needles to say, I can't get it to boot so activation code recovery programs are not an option.
I bought a new drive for her and installed it and then I managed to get a Dell OEM Windows 8 disc but obviously I can't get anywhere without the activation code. I tried reading the bar code on the keyboard but my phone won't recognize it. Is there any way of getting the activation code for this comptuer? I even looked under the battery but there is no code anywhere.

You can usually order Recovery Media from the support page of each model (US/CA) in the drivers/software list- but you need more than HP 2000 to find the correct page. There should be a Product number, Serial number etc printed somewhere- usually under the battery but you have indicated nothing is found there? Check in BIOS, on the first page, for Product Number & Serial number.
Once you have the info, use the button at top of this page titled "Support", then click "Download drivers" from the menu. Enter your Product Number. After entering PN click 'Go". On the next page use the dropdown menu to select your Operating System, click Next. A list will populate with drivers/software.Scroll down the list to see option to order Recovery Media.
You can also phone HP to order-but you will need Serial number.If you are in US or Canada:

Check next number (activity code)

Good day experts.
This is the issue we are currently importing a SFC into the system or using the supplier barcode for the SFC inside visprise. We unfortnately use two diferent product types from the same supplier where the two don't really have any differeneces. The products are hard drives one is 40 gig and the other is a 80 gig, but inside visprise we are having troubles keeping the product seperated.
We are wanting a way to check the barcode, because the part number is inside this barcode from the supplier to seperate the two inside visprise.
I thought about using check next number activity code, but unfortnately this isn't getting the job done. I was wondering if I was doing something wrong. As of right now I have the acitivity codes create SFC as Pre-start and check next number as a pre-validate start. I have tried changing the hook point, but nothing seems to work. I can force it to not work at all or work for everything.
I have a setup the next number maintenance and I can print out the correct barcode for this material, but I can't prevent us importing a incorrect barcode.

Basically this is what is happening. We are 'importing' Barcodes into the data base. Problem lies we have two materials that are very close to each other (both hard drives) they are getting mixed inside the test equipment causing us to much down time. I was reading up on the activity codes and was wondering how next number maintenance or mask valiation was working inside SAP ME. To try and prevent the confusion.
The biggest differences between the materials, that concerns SAP ME, is the barcode format. The two different part numbers are inside the the supplier barcode that is given to us, which we are currently using for our SFC in SAP ME.
It isn't a requirement for me to use SAP ME, but I was exploring every avenue. If it is true that these only work at the specific points that the help site is suggesting i will try a different avenue, this is looking very possible right now. I have tried using the activity codes with no luck in succeeding in the goal.
