System Audio Capture - Won't Work

Hello all,
I'm trying to capture my system audio and I cannot get Cp8 to do just that. I'm running the most recent version of Cp8 on my MBP OS X 10.9.5. I open a new video demo, with system audio selected, with or without a mic. The mic will capture just fine, no system audio.
I have a request to capture some Skype interview and Tuesday, any help will be great!
Thank you in advance

Hi there,
Have you tried configuring 'Soundflower' audio driver? . Please refer to the below link for more information.

  • I recently upgrade to OS X Yosemite. Now, My M_Audio Blackbox audio interface won't work. Any suggestions?

Recently I upgraded my OS to Yosemite 10.10.2 from Mavericks. Now, my M-Audio Black Box Audio interface won't work and I can't find it in the Logic Pro 9 software. Can someone suggest a fix? Thanks.

Do a backup, preferably 2 separate ones on 2 separate drives.
Revert to a Previous OS X - Yosemite
    Revert Yosemite to Mavericks
If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.
If you don't have a Time Machine backup, you will need a backup of some kind.

  • Entire System Audio mutes randomly while working in Premiere

    Hi everyone
Just recently switched over to Premiere Pro CS6 at my office. I'm an editor for a web video production company and so far I've been having quite a few problems with Premiere.
The biggest issue is that randomly, maybe 10 times a day, the audio for my entire system will drop out while editing in Premiere. At first I was resorting to doing full restarts of my computer and the problem would fix itself, but now I've discovered that if I go into "Activity Monitor," search for "coreaudiod" and then force restart that activity, the audio will reset itself for the system, but not Premiere. I still have to then restart premiere to get the audio working again in my project.
I've seen other people mention similar issues but I have yet to find a solution. Can anyone help? Thanks so much.
    Here are my computer specs:
    iMac
    27-inch, Mid 2011
Processor  3.1 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory  8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics  AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024 MB
    Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63b)
    Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
    v. 6.0.2

I've worked on two projects so far and it's happened both times. The first project was using ProRes source footage and then outside video assets were brought in that were H264.
Now I'm working on a project that is using Canon DSLR H.264 native footage and video assets that are in H264 and a few that are XDCAM EX.
Also using many still images but it seems as though it will happen randomly when I load a video clip into the Source window. The video clip will play with audio in the source monitor, but then when I bring it into the timeline this is when the entire system audio will drop out and mute entirely.

  • Audio device won't work correctly

I have a plug in called Real Guitar 2. It has always worked in the past but now it has vanished from my list of audio devices. It appears in my dock and It's in my applications folder. I can get it to play but when I record with it, it records all the other tracks!! It's driving me mad! Why are all the tracks bleeding into the track I'm recording on? The other strange thing is that I can't make the internal mic stop recording. I even used headphones and still the internal mic is recording!! (I also turned the monitor off) When I try to shut off the mic, the plug-in doesn't make a sound and cannot be recorded at all. What is going on? Has the company that makes the plug in turned it off? Why doesn't the computer recognize the plug-in as it always has in the past? I'm assuming that is the reason for the problem. How do I fix this? In general, why is the internal mic always ON, even when it's not being used? When I switch to "LINE IN", the plug in won't work. I'm baffled.

It was a dumb mistake! After trying many options I finally realized that I was inadvertently trying to use the plug in as a "real instrument" instead of a "software instrument". It had been several months since I used it and I guess I forgot about those little details.

The  feature where you drag the red line across your timeline and it will plays that segement isn't working. It won't play when i drag my "red line" across the timeline instead it only plays the audio when i hit play and won't stop until the frame ends.
I just finished a project a day ago and didn't have this problem so im confused.

Assuming the frame audio is set to Stream and not Event in properties? Flash is updated as well also?

  • Firewire capturing won't work anymore...

Everytime I hook a DV or HDV cam to my mac and try to entering capture mode on any video editing application (Final cut Pro, Premiere Pro, iMovie, iMovie HD), the programm freezes up till I shut the camera off...and capturing works fine on a windows PC.
    I am using OSX 10.5.4, Quicktime 7.5, Sony VX1000e, Canon HV30 Pal.
Does someone has any idea what could be wrong with my system?

    - I just bought my Powerbook last summer, so I don't
think that battery problem applies to the 1.67 GHz
model. If it does, the doc doesn't list a part #.
It's very unlikely but you know we're talking about batteries so you can never be sure about 'em.
Anyway verify that your clock battery is fine:
-Fully charge your PB's external battery
-Work on the battery untill it drains out the PB goes to sleep
-Leave the PB asleeb for 2-5 minutes
-Plug in the mains adaptor, wake up the PB and reboot
If date+time is displayed correctly, then everything's fine + dandy with the battery
What I don't understand is why one of the drives has
yet to malfunction. It has gone through the same
environment as all the others, and I've yet to have a
    problem.
hmm unfortuantely IDE drives can fail for a myriad of reasons, keep in mind that they're only built for low price (not performance and reliability)
It's utilized the same cable, the same
enclosure, and the same software installations and
updates. Everything has been running fine until about
    a month ago.
Do you think the drives are now damaged
because of some software setting, or could the drive
    possibly work with another computer?
Since you had 2 drives fail on the same (and as you say intact/unchanged channel (environment)) then there's obviously somthing wrong with your channel in a physical/link level (at some point).
Or some malfuctioning software is causing corruption on your HD channel.
Did you go through a brody's faq? it's an excellent starting point

  • Image Capture won't work in Mavericks

And the "help" suggestions tell me to use it! I wanted to download the latest version. but can't find it in Downloads!  I know I must be missing something really basic here . . . but help, Please!
    Thanks

Dear Jujube123,  Nuance tech support in Australia say Nuance is working on the problem.  It would help hurry them along if you contacted Nuance directly and ask them when an update is likely to be published.  Umberto Uno

  • CAPTURE WON'T WORK

Hi--I have successfully imported video from a DVC Pro player, as recently as yesterday. Today, when I hit 'Now' to Capture, a small box appears for a second and disappears, but no capturing occurs.
    Suggestions?

    Thanks for responding!
Yeh, I started the VTR first, then hit capture--I'm not sure about the second question. Would I find that in 'Preferences'

  • Since installing Lion, my usb audio interface won't work.

Its an Icon cube-mini. The software installs, but says no device connected?

thx a brody, I apprecate your reply.  Tho, that is only part of the issue.  I did as you advised & installed a version of Firefox dedicated for intel CPU...now my icon looks perfect.  However...I still have the same issue.  ONLY the menu bar shows up for both firefox and google chrome (chrome never had the circle/line issue that firefox did).
The main issue is that the 2 browsers, besides Safari, worked for several days to 2 weeks on lion.  Now when i click the icon for either, the menu bar is the only thing that shows up.  I can select anything in the menu bar - my bookmarks even show in the bookmark menu, but don't go anywhere when selected.  No browser page no matter what I do.

  • Video capture no longer working with Lion

Does anyone know why USB video capture (XLR8 USB 2.0) would no longer capture audio with Lion.  It worked great at importing old VHS home movies to my Mac before the upgrade to Lion and now, while I can still see the video, I no longer hear audio.  Anyone have any ideas?

    Well, heck.
I am so sorry you guys couldn't get through to me. you can email, [email protected] anytime for full support.
On the issue of Lion, and the XLR8 devices?
Apple did change a number of items, that limited the XtraView's ability (this is the one, with the built-in audio on the older 2820 chipset). Audio, just won't work in 64-bit mode.
The easy workarounds are to boot into 32-bit mode (hit 3 and 2) on boot.
To check if you are in 64 bit mode, go to the System Profiler (Apple Menu > More Info > Software (left pane) and see if the 64 bit is loaded.
If in 32-bit mode you are still having an issue, please check that you are running XLR8 version 1.4.6. You can download new versions at http://XLR8.com.
You can email XLR8 for a free audio cable (Mac sound jack to RCA audio), or for $25, XLR8 can upgrade you to the new 2860 device that works in 64-bit mode.
Now, that hopefully, we have you working again... about Daystar. Actually  XLR8 has always developed, built and shipped the devices. Daystar just had a bigger name and was an Apple Authorized Reseller. But, the Apple relationship ended, and Daystar closed.
XLR8, LLC will continue to support the devices and we will continue to provide great products and good support (sorry, we are a small company, and due to limited time... I can only provide "good" support. Maybe one day, it will be great.)
We are expanding the website at XLR8.com. You are always welcome to provide feedback and suggestions.
Oh, and lastly, thanks to Thiago, for sending me an email, and alerting me to the thread...
    Gary,

  • Audio Inputs no longer work after upgrade to 10.4.10

Anyone else having trouble with audio inputs after upgrading to 10.4.10? Here's my deal:
MacPro dual 2.66, 4GB RAM, running 10.4.10 as of this morning.
Upgraded to 10.4.10 today and the mic on my Plantronics USB headset quit working. 'Phones still work. Here's what I did:
    1. Tried multiple audio input devices. None work.
    2. Tried all USB ports, problem persists.
    3. Tried the 1/8" audio input, problem persists.
    4. Zapped PRAM, problem persists.
    5. Called AppleCare and they had me do an Archive and Install on the system software, which installed 10.4.7 and the problem went away. Then, at their suggestion, I let Software Update reinstall 10.4.10 and the problem came back.
    6. Rebooted the system from a 2nd internal drive running 10.4.9 and the problem went away.
Seems pretty clear to me that this issue is with the OS, yet Apple's support staff insists the problem is "with the data on my boot drive". Thing is, the data on the "problem" boot drive consists of exactly the same applications on the other drives, and only those applications. There ** is no ** data on the boot drive other than the OS and some applications. Yet the other drive I can boot from that runs 10.4.9 and doesn't cause audio input issues contains all sorts of junk.
So, to reiterate, I'm booting from a clean boot drive with nothing but OS 10.4.10 and some pro applications on it and the audio input won't work. I boot from into any other Mac OS on this drive or any other and all is well. Yet this problem is supposedly with my data?
Is anyone else out there seeing issues like this?

I used a UVC-compliant USB Logitech camera (the
    Fusion) driverless
    under OS X 10.4.9.
FWIW, none of these devices are actually driverless. They rely on drivers either supplied separately by some company (not necessarily the vendor of the product) or bundled into the OS. Usually, the bundled drivers are based on open standards like UVC mentioned in the link. Apple writes a lot of the bundled driver code itself but some of it comes from outside sources like LSI or Intel.
An unfortunate fact of life is that open standards are not always as well defined as they ideally should be. Another is that certain companies sometimes set their own standards that aren't quite compatible with open ones, sometimes to implement real or imagined improvements on an open standard, sometimes to gain a marketing advantage.
The good news is that the market usually -- eventually -- favors the open standard. The bad news is that it often takes some time for this to happen, leaving users -- particularly Mac users, who still represent a smaller market force than those using Windows -- without a solution for an uncomfortably long period of time.
Your best or only recourse for now may be to downgrade to 10.4.9 until this gets resolved, but you should also take into account that not all users are having these problems so it may be something other than the update itself that is causing the problem. I just video chatted with a colleague using an Intel Mac mini who is having no problems whatsoever -- we are both puzzled why he is unaffected while others are.
Sorry this couldn't be of more help.

  • TC Konnekt 24D won't work in 10.7

Hi everyone, since I upgraded to 10.7 yesterday, my TC Electronic Konnekt 24D audio card won't work... the system sees is "sometimes" but it's impossible to work in Logic 9... any ideas to sort this out please? I have an iMac i7 2010.

I have the same audiocard, and i've not installed it over lion yet. But I saw in other forums that boot in 32bit mode (pressing 3 and 2 keys during boot) may solve the issue.
    Hope it helps.

  • Tascam US-122L won't work on my new iMac

Just bought a brand new iMac 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with OSX10.6.2 and my Tascam US-122L audio interface won't work. It worked on my old PC (slowly!), and it works on my friend's iMac with OSX 10.5.8, but not on mine!
The Tascam control panel says "Device: none found", and the Garageband Audio input and output don't recognize the US-122L as being connected (they do on my friend's iMac with 10.5.8)
I've emailed Tascam - they're very quick to respond, but the suggestions of new drivers, uninstall and reinstall drivers, firmware etc have not made any difference.
Then I tried calling them - they told me it had nothing to do with 32 bit versus 64 bit, but that the new iMacs did not have enough power output from the USB ports to run the US-122L, and that I needed a powered USB hub. I've borrowed one to try, and guess what - still doesn't work!
Any suggestions would be welcome, since Tascam don't seem to be able to help.
    Thanks.

I doubt that insufficient USB power is the problem (whether supplied from a powered hub or an iMac). The Tascam US-122L is a discontinued model, replaced by the "Mk II" version, but either should comply with the USB bus powered spec to draw less than 500 ma (2.5 watts) or it wouldn't work with any standard USB host & most (including iMacs) would display a warning about it drawing too much power.
I suspect this particular unit is somehow defective, in part because of the above & in part because of the "slowly" comment in the original post.
