System bug in file system (10,7)
After installing Lion, cannot place my files in alphbetical or numerical order in column view. System will only use «last used» to file.
Can I go back to Snow Leopard Tried every preference possible and no «genious» at the Ottawa Apple store could figure a solution.
Answer? Wait for an update to the system...
This is not a problem on my Mini or my 13 inch (2011) portable, only my 15 inch Macbook Pro .
Is there something hidden somewhere in the preferences that no one knows about?
Thank you
The arrangement and the sort options are both in the same menu/toolbar button. To get Sort options, hold down the Option (alt) key when you click the Arrangement button or in the menus.
If you arrange by Name, there are not sort options available. If you set arrangement to None, you can pick a sort order.
If you Arrange by Application, Kind, or Label, you can sort by one of the other options.
For some odd reason I haven't been able to replicate, the sort order sometimes gets reversed, and there is no way to change it. But, it will eventually fix itself.
In List View, you can set the sort order like in Snow Leopard as long as you do not have an Arrangement set.
It's hard to understand unless you just play around with it.

Problem with the EFI system partition's file system.
I installed latest yosemite 10.10.2 update - did a verify disk on “WDC WD1001FALS-403AA0 Media” (internal HD on my iMac 21.5-inch, Mid 2011) and got
Problems were found with the partition map which might prevent booting
Error: The partition map needs to be repaired because there’s a problem with the EFI system partition’s file system.
However a verify disk on the volume partition gets a clean bill of health!
I haven't done a 'repair disk' yet. Thought I'd check if anybody else has same message first.
CheersI had issues where my MacPro 8-core would not boot after the 10.7.4 upgrade, but my MacBook Air 13" 2011 upgrade worked just fine.
I had to restore my MacPro HD from my TimeMachine back up. Apparently, the Softraid raid drivers that I use on my MacPro are not compatible yet with 10.7.4. See here for more info:
http://macperformanceguide.com/blog/2012/20120511_1-MacOSX-SoftRAID.html
I contacted Softraid and they are already aware of the issues and are working with Apple for a fix.
Cheers.

MacBook Pro OS x Mavericks. I have Sandisk 256GB SSD and I am getting a below error message.
ALERT: The partition map needs to be repaired because there's a problem with the EFI system partition's file system.
Does anyone know how to resolve this error and fix it ? unfortunately I don't have a Time Machine backup. Thanks!Have you tried to run the verify/repair permissions and verify/repair disk through the recovery disk? If that didn't work then I would reinstall the OS after backing up. If that still doesn't work I would take it in.

How to make bank management system using java file system

Now how can i manage this Bank Management System using java file system.
Thanks in advance. Then we're back to (1): Do your own homework. Google has zillions of links on handling files in Java. When you have written some code and have an actual problem, we'll be happy to help you with it.

ECC6 EHP2 (ABAP+Java) system copy using file system copy
Hello Experts,
I have a question around system copy method for a dual stack ECC6 EHP2 system.
We are planning to take full file system backup of this entire ECC6 EHP2 dual stack system and throw it on a completely new hardware with new host name but same SID. We are also planning to do a host renaming in instance profiles and re-building the control files in target system after we finish the file system restore.
Is this method supported in SAP ? Or we strictly have to use SAPinst to do export and import method. In any case our source and target platform is not going to chance as per our scenario.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Harshal> Thanks for the quick response. Is their any document that says it is not supported ? Because of no proper document that says no to do it, client want's to try it out.
For the ABAP part this is certainly feasible.
The Java part has not only issues with the secure store but also with SID and hostname. The old values are stored in many places in the database and in, depending on the applications installed, many .properties files in the filesystem. So it would be not enough to somehow regenerate the secure store but also change hostname and SID in different places that are not really all documented.
What you are basically looking for is
Note 757692 - Changing the hostname for J2EE Engine 6.40/7.0 installation
with the significant sentence
This note should be applied only when the hostname of a machine
where the j2ee engine was already installed has changed.
It does not replace the SAP official system copy procedure and
MUST NOT be used for copying of an instance to another host and/or with different SID.

File system and LR2 file system view summary
Hello,
Is there a way when navigating a directory via the Folders panel to click on the folder and get summary information about the contents of the folder both from a file system perspective as well as a Lightroom perspective?
file system perspective: number of physical files supported by LR2 in the folder
LR2 perspective: the number of files that have virtual copies, how many total virtual copies total, how many photos are in stacks, how many stacks, etc.
Thanks,
Matt

Is OCFS(Oracle Cluster File System) a real file system?
Hi all
Is oracle cluster file system something kind of FAT23 or NTFS on Windows, ext3 on Linux ?
We install operating systems on FS , but with OCFS we install Oracle database on it instead of operation system ?
As usual
Applications
OS
File System
Physical Drive
But the ocfs is something like:
Oracle
OCFS
OS
OS's file system
Physical Drive
Is that right ?Robert Geier wrote:
OCFS is a clustered filesystem. You don't use it for OS partitions (e.g /opt) but only for filesystems that will be shared between servers in a RAC cluster to hold database files.
Are you installing RAC ? If so, then ASM is a better option than OCFS. If not, then you really don't need OCFS.Thanks
I'm studying RAC.
I hear that I can not put all kind of files into ASM but with OCFS I can hold them.
Is that improved with 11g R2 ? -
Is OCS a real File system or Virtual file system?
Hello gurus,
I would like to ask pros some fundamental questions regarding OCS.
1. Are files and folders in ocs are stored as real system files and directories in OS somewhere ?
2. Are the files or folders all all maintained in database itself?
We are trying to accomplish following task pertaining to document management: I dont know if we can achieve this through Oracle content services.
We have bunch of documents that are attached to the Units ( Serialized) that we are selling.
example
1. SN1_A.doc ( sold from sales order 12345 and same documents referenced in Service request# A123)
2.SN1_B.doc (sold from sales order 12345 and same documents referenced in Service request# A123)
3. SN2_A.doc ( sold from sales order 12346 and referenced in SR# A124)
4. SN2_B.doc ( sold from sales order 12346 and referenced in SR# A124)
No we want two VIRTUAL directory views for Sales team and Service Team
Virtual view for Service team:
/Field Service/Service Requests/A123/ (will show SN1_A.doc and SN1_B.doc )
/Field Service/Service Requests/A124/(will show SN2_A.doc and SN2_B.doc )
Virtual view for Sales team:
/Field Sales/Sales Orders/12345 / (will show SN1_A.doc and SN1_B.doc )
/Field Sales/Sales Orders/12346 /(will show SN2_A.doc and SN2_B.doc )
Is this possible in OCS? Is this possible in any Document Management product?
Please helpHello,
out of the box OCS content services won't do this for you -- at least not exactly.
What you're looking for is a way to tag documents with metadata.
For example, you would define a category called Sales and give it two attributes: sales order and service request.
You create a folder which forces the user the populate these fields when uploading or checking in a document.
A service technician could then use the content search facility (in the content browser) to look for documents with a service request of A123, while a salesman could search for documents tagged with the sales order 12345.
This does not give you the virtual folder look that you seem to be after, so that would be the part you'd have to custom code. But you'd be using the search mechanism I described above.

Creating File System Repository for a remote system
Hi Experts,
My requirement is that I need to create a KM repository in EP from where I need to upload documents into the BW system. Is File System Repository the right type of repository which I need to create for this purpose?
If yes, then in what format do I have to specify the value of the Root Directory property of the repository? I have a folder /data/docs created in the BW system within which I want to upload documents using this repository. But since this folder is located on the BW system which is a remote system for EP, I am not sure how I have to enter the path to this folder.
Can anyone give me any hints on this?
Warm Regards,
SaurabhHello Saurabh,
I don't think an FS repository is what you are looking for in this scenario, you could instead use a BI Repository Manager, for more information see:

Best Practice for Distributed TREX NFS vs cluster file systems
Hi,
We are planning to implement a distributed TREX, using RedHat on X64, but we are wondering which could be the best practice or approach to configure the "file server" used on the TREX distributed environment. The guides mention file server, that seems to be another server connected to a SAN exporting or sharing the file systems required to be mounted in all the TREX systems (Master, Backup and Slaves), but we know that the BI accelerator uses OCFS2 (cluster file systems) to access the storage, in the case of RedHat we have GFS or even OCFS.
Basically we would like to know which is the best practice and how other companies are doing it, for a TREX distributed environment using either network file systems or cluster file systems.
Thanks in advance,
ZarehI would like to add one more thing, in my previous comment I assumed that it is possible to use cluster file system on TREX because BI accelerator, but maybe that is not supported, it does not seem to be clear on the TREX guides.
That should be the initial question:
Aare cluster file system solutions supported on plain TREX implementation?
Thanks again,
Zareh -

Hello!

To do that, I first installed the patches listed on [Infodoc 72099|http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-9-72099-1] and then installed SUNWlucfg, SUNWlur and SUNWluufrom the S10U6 sparc DVD iso. Well - why's that?
I can do a "newfs /dev/md/dsk/d200" just fine.
When I try to remove the incomplete S10U6_20081207 BE, I get yet another error :(

lucreate used to work fine, "once upon a time", when I brought the system from S10U4 to S10U5.
Would anyone maybe have an idea about what's broken there?

Export data from SAP Document Management System to File System(FileStore)

Thanks,
