System Centre 2012 schematic overview and component interactions

Hi,
I am trying to locate A3 size (Visio preferably) schematic overviews of System Centre 2012 and all of the underlying components. I want to demonstrate the product to my executives to demonstrate what each component does. I have search the net for far too
long trying to find what I would have thought would have been readily available. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Tim

Yes, I know this is an old post, but I’m trying to clean them up. Did you solve this problem, if so what was the solution?
This doesn’t exist and even if it did exist the objects on the diagram would tiny.
Did you even publish this to your blog?

  • System Centre 2012 - Operations Manager

    Evening All,
As System Centre 2012 is due for release in the next few months, and your recently certified design for MS Private cloud; I was wondering whether you the Cisco UCS Management pack? Will this be built into SCOM, or will you be offering an MP that can filter SNMP traffic?
    Thanks in advance.
    Paul

    Thank you all. After coming into the office today I checked the event logs on VM1. All afternoon I had been getting 4 events every 15 minutes;
Three x 21023 - OpsMgr has no configuration for management group SCOM12 and is requesting new configuration from the Configuration Service
And one error, 20070 The OpsMgr Connector connected to SCOM12.test.local, but the connection was closed immediately after authentication occurred.  The most likely cause of this error is that the agent is not authorized to communicate with the
server, or the server has not received configuration.  Check the event log on the server for the presence of 20000 events, indicating that agents which are not approved are attempting to connect.
However at 00:04, I can see an event log 21019 - OpsMgr has returned to communicating with it's primary hostSCOM12.test.local and since then regular Health Service logs.
I checked in OM and now it is showing as Healthy and monitored - I guess this just needed a lot of time to configure itself? Is this normal behaviour?
I also checked VM1 TCP 5723 which it says was not open (the firewall is off on the server however it is working in OM.
    PS C:\PSScripts> Test-Port -computer VM1 -port 5723 -tcp
    Server   : VM1
    Port     : 5723
    TypePort : TCP
    Open     : False
Notes    : Connection to Port Timed Out
Thanks again for your help. If it goes again I shall create a new post.

  • System Center 2012 R2 VMM and guest NLB

    Hello,
We have System Center 2012 R2 Virtual Machine manager deployed. Here is one issue related to the networking. In case of deploying guest 2 node NLB cluster (unicast mode) in VM properties we see that IP and MAC address settings are changed
to Dynamic. As result when we click on Connection details there is no information. Is it by design? Is there any way of deploying NLB clusters without VIP and Service templates? If you say no I have 2 questions: 1. How to migrate existing guest NLB cluster
into VMM and have Connection details information; 2. How about using Generation 2 vm's in service templates?
    Thank you

If you deploy a NLB node by node, using VM templates, there's no out-of-the bpx way to create a NLB or a cluster, but you can use :
    - VMM power-shell scripting : You can devlop a script that depoly 2 VMs than configure their IP
    - Run once command that you can add via UI or via poweshell when deploying your VMs
In the P2V case, this is more tricky. In the case of a cluster or NLB P2V, you can:
    - Place the first NLB/Cluster node in maintenance mode
    - Convert this node using your P2V tool or VMM (before 2012 R2)
    - Verify the network configuration and turn off the maintenance mode so the VM re-join the NLB/Cluster
    - Place the second  (Physical) NLB/Cluster node in maintenance mode
    - Convert this node using your P2V tool or VMM (before 2012 R2)
    - Verify the network configuration and turn off the maintenance mode so the VM re-join the NLB/Cluster
and so on for all your NLB/Cluster nodes

  • How to create a Domain user in a Specific OU using System Center 2012 R2 Orchestrator and Service Manager

    Dear All,
I have a simple Runbook with the following details:
Initialize Data: (First Name, Last Name, Login Name, Deparment Name) --> Create User: Name:(Domain), Common Name, Display Name, First, Last Name, SAM Account Name (From Initialize Data) --> Enable
User: Distinguished Name --> Add User to Group: Group Distinguished Name, User Distinguished Name
Active Directory Management Pack in place and the Prerequisites Configurations are added Too (Configuration User Name, Configuration Password, Configuration DC, Configuration Default OU.
The Runbook is Synched with Service Manager, Request Offering/Service Offering and published to the portal.
When I filled the 4 required values (First Name, Last Name, Login Name, Deparment Name), the Runbook will kick off and the user is created in Active Directory.
The user is placed in the Default OU which is predefined in AD Prerequisites Configurations in Orchestrator.
I need to add another Required Value to my Request Offering (SR) called User Level Enum List (Low, Medium, High).
I need to place the user in a Specific OU based on the Level entered from SSPortal, If the user is Low, then Create the user in this OU, if the user is Medium then create it in this OU, etc...
How can I do this in Orchestrator? What I want to modify in my runbook to accomplish this task?
    Thank you,

I AM TRYING TO USER/MAILBOX CREATION PROCESS, FOLLOWING IS THE BUSINESS REQUIREMENT
GET THE USER FROM ERP SYSTEM (SQL)

  • System Centre Licensing Query

I am trying to get my head around the licensing requirements of System Centre 2012.
My scenario is going to be:
1 Server to act as a Central hub (System Centre 2012 Installed and running VMM, End Point, Client Configuration, etc.)
    7 Servers running Hyper-V
I want to cluster the Hyper-V environment to allow easier management and failover. What licenses of System Centre 2012 do I need to purchase for this. I am looking at upto 25 VMs spread across the 7 servers.

    Hello,
Dyre, a piece of malware known for pursuing banking credentials, looks

  • System Center 2012 - 180 days expired

    Hi,I have the following question.
I've installed System Center 2012 evaluation version and it will expire in 90 days.
If I would like to restart again the 180 days, can I uninstall System Center and install again the evaluation version on the server so that the 180 days count starts again?
    Thanks
    Anna

    Hi
For SCOM it would not work, because the licensing data is stored in the database. If you would reinstall the Management Servers it would just pull the data out of the database and therefore it would be expired again.
As far I know the only way to get a Version longer than the eval period is adding a license key
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2699998/en-us .
Using the pre-configured VHD might be another Option

  • Can I use System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection in "Windows Server Remote Desktop Session Host" without buy the license ?

Can I use System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection in Azure Virtual Machine Gallary's "Windows Server Remote Desktop Session Host" without buy the System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection license ?
I want to protect my Azure RemoteApp against the malware.
System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection installed Azure Virtual Machine Gallary's "Windows Server Remote Desktop Session Host".
Now, I try to build Azure RemoteApp template by using the  Azure Virtual Machine Gallary's "Windows Server Remote Desktop Session Host" .
    Regards,
    Yoshihiro Kawabata

    Hi Yoshihiro,
Unless and until Microsoft modifies the license terms for System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection and/or modifies the Online Services Terms (OST) and/or other document explicitly saying that use is included with the Azure RemoteApp (ARA) monthly
fee I recommend you assume as that it is
not included and license it separately for ARA if that is even possible, which is a separate question.
For licensing it is best to be cautious and make decisions based on the official documents that are available that govern use of the software and services involved.  At this moment I'm not able to find a Microsoft document that grants use of System
Center 2012 Endpoint Protection with Azure RemoteApp.
When I first used the gallery template and noticed that Endpoint Protection was installed within it I had the same question as you.  I will update this thread if/when I obtain more information.

  • MDT 2012 upd 1 and Windows / Component updates

I am trying to create a deployment for Win 7 x64 in MDT 2012, and it is going quite well.  My problem is with the Windows Update passes -- for some reason it misses many Office and Component updates until I go to deploy.  Then it takes another
hour to grab and install those.  I don't understand why it does not grab them during the TS process.
I am doing a staged capture in a VM environment, starting with a zero-touch capture that includes Office 2010 and all the updates.  This is my thin image and it takes about 5.5 hours through capture.  Then I take this thin image, add standard apps
that cannot be silently installed, customize desktop options that cannot be easily automated (another huge pain, but another topic), and, I was hoping, install all the updates for Office 2010 and other non-OS components.
In the first TS, I run the updates pre-installation, use the TS step to install Office, and run them again post-installation.  It does pick up a few, but then the logs say the system is fully updated and goes on to the next step.
In the second TS, I use the post-installation update step.  One of the apps I use installs SQL components, and the TS picks up on this and installs several updates it finds.  Then it decides the machine is up to date and moves on, skipping about
40 updates as of this writing.
As a test, I inserted a reboot step between app installation and the post-install Update step, but it still ignored the Office updates.  Research on the issue turned up the idea that at some point ZTIWindowsUpdate turns on the extra updates, and also
several suggestions that this is how it is supposed to work (and why the standard TS is designed this way).
I rolled my VM back to the suspended point and I'm running WU manually at the console.  I had to enable "Microsoft Update" manually, and now it is happily pulling down the updates.  I just hope there's enough smarts left in the VM to
run to  the task to completion.
I'm hoping that some whiz with the process can enlighten us on how to force ZTIWindowsUpdate to search for critical updates for all Microsoft components, not just the OS ones.
    UPDATE:
Digging into the code and logs, it seems that a certain condition is not occurring to trigger the Microsoft Update service; bFoundMU must be true for this to happen.  A ServiceID hard coded is not being matched--the reason escapes me.  Near as
I can tell, after a magic reboot it finally finds a match for this ServiceID.  Hopefully this snippet does not get munged...
        On Error Resume Next
                Item = oFSO.GetFileVersion ( ees("%SystemRoot%\System32\WUAUENG.DLL" ) )
oLogging.CreateEntry "Ready to Opt-In to Microsoft Update: WUA Version: " & Item , LogTypeInfo
                Set ServiceManager = nothing
                Set ServiceManager = CreateObject("Microsoft.Update.ServiceManager")
            On Error Goto 0
            If ServiceManager is nothing then
oLogging.CreateEntry "Failed to Create Object: Microsoft.Update.ServiceManager" , LogTypeWarning
            Else
                bFoundMU = False
                For each Item in ServiceManager.Services
                    WScript.Echo "Registered Update Service: " & Item.ServiceID & "   " & Item.Name
                    If Item.ServiceID = "7971f918-a847-4430-9279-4a52d1efe18d" then
                        bFoundMU = True
                    End if
                Next
oLogging.CreateEntry "Microsoft Update Service:  Enabled = " & bFoundMU, LogTypeInfo
                If not bFoundMU then
                    On Error Resume Next
                        Err.clear
                        ServiceManager.ClientApplicationID = "My App"
                        If Err.Number <> 0 then
oLogging.CreateEntry "There was an error getting Windows Update to opt into Microsoft Update. Please verify you are running the latest version
of Windows Update Agent." , LogTypeWarning
                        End if
The logs look virtually identical between the two runs.  This is getting way deeper than I understand the update process or about service IDs.
    UPDATE 2:
Digging further, it seems that the the condition of bFoundMU has no bearing on whether or not MU is used, but possibly the existence of muauth.cab.  From the deploy log where it actually started, bFoundMU is still false, but at that point the Office
    updates started to come in:

    <![LOG[ about to begin add service []]LOG]!><time="11:05:34.000+000" date="04-24-2014" component="ZTIWindowsUpdate" context="" type="1" thread="" file="ZTIWindowsUpdate">
The next stanza in ZTIWindowsUpdate.wsf is this:
    If oEnvironment.Item("WsusServer") = "" then
                              iResult = oUtility.FindFile("muauth.cab", strCabPath)
                            If iResult <> Success then
'// "" will force a internet search for cab file
                                strCabPath = ""
                            End if
oLogging.CreateEntry " about to begin add service ["+ strCabPath +"]", LogTypeInfo
                            Set NewUpdateService = ServiceManager.AddService2("7971f918-a847-4430-9279-4a52d1efe18d",6,strCabPath)
                            oLogging.CreateEntry " Status: " & NewUpdateService.RegistrationState, LogTypeInfo
                        End if
Indeed, the muauth.cab file was present in my first one, but not the deployment one.  As the log says, since there is no muauth.cab file, the code will then go download it.
I don't know how, when, or why this happened (why is it in my first DS and not my second?), but a simple test this evening will confirm my suspicion that if the file is not present it will update as expected.

  • System centre operation manager 2012 exam paper code

    Hi,
Can anyone please let me know what is the System centre operation manager 2012 exam paper code?

  • BW and CRM - Interactive Centre

Hi All - I'm currently working on an SAP and CRM implementaton project and am new to CRM. I couldn't find any useful information in this regards. If any have worked in this module, please provide me some information and help.
    Thanks. Points will be assigned

    Hello Claudia.
If it helps you to go a little further, I work with a BI 7.0 integration with CRM4.0 system.
I think that when you are referring to 'Interactive Centre', you are referring the application Interaction Center Webclient, available at CRM system.
This application is designed for Call Centers, so that agents can use it to register contacts, create service tickets, make survey's, etc,etc...
For me, the most important datasource is 0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_H that extracts all information related to header information of CRM service orders (you have also 0CRM_SRV_PROCESS_I for extracting the items information), and 0CRM_SALES_ACT_1 for contacts (Interaction Records).
But there's a lot of other datasources that can help you to get more CRM information. They usually start with prefix 0CRM* and you can get a list of them at RSA5.
    Kind regards.

  • Cisco IPT and Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager

    Hi All
Does anybody used Cisco IPT with System Centre Operations Manager?
Does System Centre Operations Manager supports Cisco CallManager OS and Hardware for monitoring?
    Thanks
    VKS

    Hi David,
Thanks for your reply. I have gone through the links which you have mentioned. As per the Overview of Operations Manager 2007 R2 section in What's New & Improved in Operations Manager 2007 R2 document it is clearly mentioned the below points:
Delivers monitoring across Windows, Linux and Unix servers–all through a single console.
Extend end to end monitoring of distributed applications to any workload running on Windows, Unix and Linux platforms.
The Cisco Servers are also Windows and Linux Based.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Team Foundation Server 2010 and System Center 2012 SP1 Operations Manager WorkItem Synchronization fail

    Hello,
We are currently implementing a Devops solution with SCOM 2012 SP1 and TFS 2010 SP1 and we would like to synchronize APM alerts with TFS and the Operational Issue WorkItem. However we are not
    able to sync anything.
    Here is our environments :
    Products :
    SCOM
System Center Operations Manager 2012 SP1
    French
    OS: Windows 2012 SP1 Std x64
    French
    DB: SCOM SQL Server 2012 SP1 x64
    Management Pack
MP Operations Manager TFS Work Item Synchronisation 7.0.9538.0
MP Alert Attachement 7.0.9538.0 (We have also try the version in the VM DEVOPSALL : 7.0.9538.1005)
    TFS
    Team Foundation Server 2010 SP1
    French 10.0.40219.1
    OS: Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Std x64
    French
DB: TFS SQL Server 2008 x64
TFS 2012 Object Model Installer (We have also try the version 2010)
    Here is our configuration :
    TFS Platform
This a French platform with a project based on the Process Template SCRUM 1.0 alone in a Team Project collection. The Operational Issue import completed successfully. It’s possible to manipulate
Operational Issue for all of its states from TFS.
    SCOM Platform
We followed the documentation at :
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj883936.aspx
to configure SCOM Alert Attachment and Operation Manager Tfs Work Item Synchronization. Everything seems to be ok. All configurations succeed. We did not configure Intellitrace collector.
The problem occurs when we are trying to push an APM alert to TFS. When we assigned an alert to the Engineering nothing is synchronized in TFS. There is no error in the event viewer on the TFS
server. But, on the SCOM server we get 2 exceptions raised by  Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Modules.Apm.TfsWISync.OMModules. We provide you the log of the SCOM Server in this mail.

According to you, is there a possible incompatibility of the synchronization system with French environments?
    Thanks for your  help.

    Hi,
To monitor the complete TFS infrastructure, you need additional monitoring packs that alert you about a wide range of problems with TFS components. When you import the TFS Work Item Synchronization management pack, it is a best practice to
also import and configure these monitoring packs, you can double check these:
