System Check Message: How do I close my Internet Explorer to install Adobe Illustrator CS3?

Upon installing Adobe Illustrator CS3, I cannot finish installing because system check tells me that Internet Explorer needs to be closed. I am using Windows Vista Home Edition Premium. I'm simply confused because I do not know exactly how to close Internet Explorer to finish my installation process. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
