System considers dependant requirements lying outside planning horizon

Hello Experts,
Iam running the MRP for procurement. I have defined a planning horizon so that system will consider the requirements of that period. Iam using NETPL as my planning method in MRP. I wanted to create only purchase requisitions during this period so I selected 1 as my creation indicator as well.
But the issue Iam facing is, system is not skipping the dependant requirements which is outside planning horizon. System skips only PIRs.
For all the dependant requirements outside planning horizon, system creates planned orders and for those within plannning horizon system creates purchase requisition. Is there any settings to skip system considering dependant requirements outside planning horizon.??
Thanks
Prathib

Hello
I believe that there is a misunderstanding about what exactly is the planning horizon. Using a planning horizon does not means that the requirements outside the horizon will not be planned.
The planning horizon represents a part of the planning area, where a planning file entry is made for the MRP processing key net change planning in the planning horizon (NETPL).
In this kind of net change planning, only those materials that have undergone a change that is relevant to MRP within the planning horizon are included in the planning run. Such materials receive a net change planning indicator in the planning file.
That means, if an MRP relevant change is made for a material within the planning horizon, the planning file entry NEPLT is set for this material.
You can check in the SAP Help how the planning horizon works, see below:
"You can also use a planning horizon to further limit the scope of the planning run. In "net change planning in the planning horizon", the system only plans materials that have undergone a change that is relevant to the planning run within the period which you defined as the planning horizon. The system sets the net change planning horizon indicator automatically for these materials."

So, the planning horizon only define is the planning file will be marked as "net change planning".

  • MRP plans sales orders outside planning horizon

MRP plans Sales order for Finished Goods Outside planning horizon even when using NETPL. Strategy 40 is in use with 3 level BOMs. Planning horizon - 200 day. How could it be prevented?

    Dear,
Please check have you assigned any MRP group to your material masters in MRP1view? Then check the planning horizon maintain in MRP group in OPPR also check same for your plant in OPPQ.
If you define it as 200 days then system will only plan the requirement which falls under 200 days with processing key as NETPL.
If we set planning horizon as 200 days then in the material in which MRP relevant changes happened in last 200 days will only be planned. Planning horizon is the period beyond it, requirements don't generate planned orders
    Please check and revert back.

  • CIF - Dependent Requirements for Product Planned Externally

    Hi Experts,
I have flagged a product in APO to be planned externally [Procurement type: P - external procurement planning].
I see it has Planned Externally in the Planned Orders where it is used as a component.
My problem is that que Requirements are not transfered to R/3 so the product can be planned by MRP.
What are the necessayr settings to maintain (excluding the technical CIF settings to connect R/3 to APO).
    Thanks,
    Marc

    Hi Kumar,
So basically, you are saying that I can only transfer planned orders through the CIF and that I was wrong in assuming that I could transfer Dependent Requirements directly ?
    Thanks,

    Hi Experts,
I am new to APO  "Data partly after horizon 01.04.2010 to 01.04.2016"  message is coming when accessing planning book  in our production system, not in Testing/Quality system .refer attachment
when I gone through the forum we have to extend planning area using program  /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALISE.
To perform this activity  is  back up of the cube compulsory we have to do?
Please let me know is any other steps to follow to resolve this issue, with this issue the users are not able to access planning book.

    Hi Srihari,
Check the horizon of the planning area and compare with your data view, right click on Planning area and select "Created Time Series Objects"
    for example
Your Data view should not cross the End Date shown, which is the reason for your error. Also check the past horizon.

  • Dependant requirements

    Hi Gurus,
One quick question about BOM not generating dependent requirements. e.g If I have a BOM1 and Components of BOM1 are P1 and P2. and If P1 is a BOM as well components are P3 and P4.
If I create a Planned Independent requirement for BOM1, MRP should create 2 Planned order 1 for BOM1 and 2 for P1 (both materials are In-house, Strategy Group is 40. I am NOT seeing 2 planned order I only see Planned order for BOM1. kindly help is there something wrong which I am doing. Thanks

    Shani,
To recap, it sounds like you have two BOM structures:
    BOM1 > P1, P2
    P1 > P3, P4
You create a PIR for BOM1.  You run MRP.  MRP creates a planned order for BOM1, and no other planned orders are created.
I will assume you did not use MD03 when you ran MRP.  I will assume that your MRP types (all 5 parts) are not a consumption type such as V, but a demand type such as P or M*.
    a.  Look at MD04 against P1 and P2.  Do you see dependent requirements from the planned order for BOM1?  Do these dependent requirements reduce the available quantity of P1 to 'less than zero'?
    b.  Manually create a planned order for P1.  Any errors/warnings?
If the answers to 'a'  are yes, and the answer to 'b' is no, then you probably have a planning file problem.  Create a planning file entry for all 5 parts. MD20.  Delete your planned orders and try again.

  • Dependent requirements deletion

    Hello everybody,
Do you know if there is a way to delete (old) dependent requirements (table RESB)?
Because, as the number range has recently reached its top limit, we encounter now some problem of "duplicate entry" with the MRP Run...
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Rudy

    Hi Rudy,
As you properly wrote dependent requirements come from planned order, from higher level; the planned order is the source of them.
If you want to get rid of the dependent requirement, you have to eliminate the source (you cannot modify the DepReq directly). If the DepReq is old, the PldOrd should be also old...
(This is very similar to PrdOrd and OrdRes: OrdRes comes from PrdOrd and you cannot modify OrdRes manually; if you close the PrdOrd, OrdRes "disappears" automatically)
Maybe your problem is that the planned order does not exist and still SAP displays the DepReq and calculates with it. In this case you should search for suitable OSS note and if no result you can contact the softwer producer...

  • LTP run not creating Dependent Requirement

    Hi,
I have created a LTP senairo and took the LTP Run through MS01. The planned order were created for the materials but the dependent requirements were not planned. In MS04 against the planned order I have an exception message 52 (No BOM selected) What can be a cause for this are there any specific settings to plan dependent materials through LTP? My requirement is that LTP should also show dependent requirements for the components.
    Thanks!

    Hi Özgen,
Thanks for the reply. I had entered the BOM selection ID but still it was not planning it. The problem was with the dates and when I pulled it in the planning Horizan it did plan it.. Even if there is not BOM selection ID maintained it will plan the dependent components which its doing in my case. Thanks for the reply though!
    God Bless!

  • Dependant requirements are to be considered in reorder point planning

    Hi,
We are currently using safety stock planning with PD.but the problem is that MRP triggers a procuement proposal when ever the availabile quantity(not the stock) falls below safety stock(as it considers MRP elements like DEP REQ etc in the net requirements calculation).
Now if i propose VB,it does not consider the dependent requirements at all(they are not even displayed)
Requierment is that the procurement proposals should only be triggered when the safety stock falls below the physical stock and DEPREQ's and all other requirements should still be displayed.
I appreciate your help in getting me through with this.Thanks.
    Ram

    Dear Ram,
go to the customizing of MRP type ,
ther you will find the field 'Reorder point planning with external requirements'
Indicates whether an external requirement (sales order or manual reservation) is included in the net requirements calculation for reorder point planning.
If yes, you can decide whether it is to be included:
-in the complete planning horizon, or
-only within the replenishment lead time
I hope the above information will be useful,
    best regards

  • MRP Planned order generation for Order reservation excluding Dependent Requirements

In our Project we have a requirement like for FG stage & SFG1 stage are M.T.O So after sales order are punched through  MD50 we have created Planned orders against sales orders,But dependent stages like SFG2 & SFG3 which are pure M.T.S so only Dependent requirements will get generated.Suppose for SFG1 i have partially converted planned order to Production order then for component SFG2 we get Partial Quantity as order reservation. Now requirement is if i run MRP for SFG2 system need to generate demand only for order reservation excluding Dependent requirements. Is there any possibility where we can generate demand only for order reservation. As system will create Planned order for SFG2=Dependent requirement + Order reservation

    Hi Uli,
Suppose i have Sales order--100 kgs for FG
    B.O.M levels
    1.FG-----M.T.O
    2.SFG1---M.T.O
    3.SFG2---M.T.S
    4.SFG3---M.T.S
    5.ROH
So if i run MRP via MD50 system would generate planned orders for FG & SFG1 level as they are M.T.O specific
Now my requirement list would be
    FG-100kg planned order
    SFG1-100kg planned order
    SFG2-100kg dependent requirement.
Now suppose i have partially converted SFG1 planned order to production order
SFG1--100kg planned order to 30 kg production order
Now my requirement list would be
    FG-100kg planned order
SFG1-70kg planned order & 30 kg production order
    SFG2-70kg dependent requirement & 30kg order reservation.
Here my requirement is if i run MRP for SFG2 in MD02 as these stage is M.T.S system should provide 30 kg planned order & if we see down the line it would be like
Now my requirement list would be
    FG-100kg planned order
SFG1-70kg planned order & 30 kg production order
    SFG2-30kg planned order & 70kg dependent requirement.
    SFG3-30kg planned order
    ROH-30kg Purchase req
    Client requirement is like these..

  • Conversion of Planned order to PR and Dependent Requirements

    Hello Everyone,
I had two issues to be dealt with..
    1. When i run my MRP run for a specific plant i do not want the system to automatically convert planned orders to Purchase requisitions for specific material in specific plant. How do i Configure the same?
    2. I use planning strategy 40 for the header material. During MRP run dependent requirements are automatically  raised for lower level components. But how does the user know which planned order is generated for which higher level order?
Moreover, since the same raw material is used in multiple  finished  materials, a single planned order is raised for the same raw material. This makes it all the more complex.
I think Individual/ Collective requirement does not help in this case because i am using stategy group 40 which is a MTS strategy.
Any help in both these cases would be greatly appreciated..
    Sincerely,
    Aji

    1) Select the indicator "3"- Planned Orders in the MRP Screen or in a Variant you use to schedule the MRP
    2) Under a make to stock scenario, requirements are summarized in a planned order (or many, according to the lot size key). But in general as the stock is generic and not customer-specific, there is no assignment of planned order to a given customer.

  • Dependent Requirements Planning

    Hey Gurus,
I have a situation in which I have two materials that are planned with Independent requirements but also have dependent requirements against them.  these two materials are 6001116 and 6001771.  I have set the MIXED MRP indicator to "1", planning strategy "40" and MRP Dep. requirements as "1".
6001116 is not planning the dependent requirements and is only being planned by the independent requirements.  6001771 is planing both the dependent requiremnets and the independent requirements even though I have set the MRP Dep. requirements to "1".  The only difference between these two materials is that 6001116, is a made in house product and the 6001771 is a purchased product.
I can't think if anything else that would control this to put me in this situation.  Do you guys have any ideas for me or things that I should check to make sure that this is working correctly?  I thought it was only the Dep requirements indicator that controlled the planning of independent reqs.

    Dear,
    You donot want dependent requirements
to be created" for your components when MRP is run
    There are three Options:
    First Option:
For the all respective components in MRP 4 view Input "1" for MRP Dep.Reqts
    Second Option:
In the Basic Data 1 view maintain the X-Plant Matl Status maintain "01"(Blocked for Procurement/Whse)
    Third option,
You can set the MRP type in material master as 'ND' (not planned) (MM02 > MRP1)
Then Planned orders/Purchase requistions will not be created for the components

  • Planning of Dependent Requirements for BOM Components in Make to Order scen

Hi Friends - I want to execute a full cycle Make to Stock Scenario with Materials planning using MRP.
The scenario will include BOM Components with Routing.
The process flow I want to execute -
    1. Create a Sales Order for a Finished Product (Product should have a BOM for Production)
    2. Do the product Materials Planning for the Sales Order through MD50
    3. Get all the dependent material requirements (both for products as Planned Order and also for BOM Components - all the BOM components should also be planned)
    4. Convert Planned Order for Product to Production Order
    5. Convert Planned Orders for BOM components to Purchase Requisition
    6. Confirm Production Order
To execute this I have done the following
    1. I have created a Material Master data for Finished Product (FERT).
    2. I have assigned Item Category Group - NORM, and General Item Category group as NORM
    3. I have assigned MRP Type PD in MRP 1 View and Strategy Group 20 (Make to Order Production) in MRP 3 View.
    4. Now created a Universal (Type 3) BOM for the product with one material component.
    5. Now also created a Routing for the Material with two operations having PP01 a control key.
    6. Now created a standard sales order for the product.
    7. Executed the MD50 for the Sales Order Item.
Now where do I find the BOM components for this material in the Sales Order?
After executing the planning Run MD50 I am only getting the requirements for Product only. I can't see any dependent requirements for the BOM components.
How do I make sure that the BOM components are also planned while the product is planned?
I have checked the component Stock Requirement List - there are no requirements generated from the Sales Order Product BOM.
Pls help me on this. How to do this so that the raw material components are also planned?
    Thanks
    Purnendu

Hi Dhaval, Sandeep, Ashok - Thanks a lot for your replies.
I have checked the Planned Order Created through Planning Run.
If I click on the Components Tab I am getting following message
    No material components were determined
    Message no. 61027
    Diagnosis
Until now, no BOM explosion has been carried out or no BOM has been created for this material yet.
    Procedure
Either explode the bill of material for this material, or
create the components manually by processing the planned order in change mode.
If I try to explode the BOM through Header Menu - Edit> Explode BOM
I am getting the same message.
If I click on the Bill of Material Tab - I am getting the same above messge.
Ashok - I have tried both the Selection Method -
Nil - Selection by Order Quant.
1 - Selection by Explosion Date
    But with no effect.
    Waiting for your advice.
    Thanks and warm regards

  • MRP: how to segregate the planned orders by dependent requirements

    Hello SAP Guru's,
I would like to know if this is possible to make the MRP work is this way:
    - generate global planned orders (by date) for several dependent requirements, for inhouse production;
    - AND generate individual planned orders for each dependent requirement, for external procurement;
For the moment, it is grouping the quantities of all the dependent requirements to generate a unique planned order by date.
But we would like to get separate planned orders for each dependent requirements that are externally procured.
Do you think it is possible to do so? and if yes, how?
Thanks in advance for your help on this subject.
    Regards,
    Rudy

In MD04 the demand n supply that is seen is considered as plant segment. In some cases when you plan demand n supply for a given storage location separately it is called as SLoc segment, also if you're working with MRP areas then its called mrp area segment, likewise for project & sales order.
In short it is just a way MRP would do its planning. In normal cases, the demand n supply is in plant segment, so in this segment the least resolution that you can work with is a day, so all demand on a given day is clubbed together and a supply proposal is made (depending on the lot size).
If you want further split on a given day, then MRP needs some way to identify the difference & this is provided by the special stock segment such as project segment. To see how it works, if you're working with PS module, ask your PS colleague to create a demand for the material from different projects for a given day. Then in MD04 you will see each project demand show up in different segment & when you run MRP, you will see the results.
I guess more than me writing quite a lot out here, a simple test at your end should help clarify... good luck

  • List of dependent requirements of planned order for a component

    Dear guru ,
I search a list of dependent requirements of planned order for a component
    What do you suggest ?
    Thanks.

    Hi Cristano,
Go to MD04 transaction, enter comopenet and plant. Then from the list select the Planned order and click on the Order Report from the bottom tool bar available below the list.
You can see the componets details for that planned order.

  • Planning of dependant requirements in continuous production

    Hi Experts,
    The scenario is as follows.
We are producing a bulk material and packing it in to bags. We have orders for bulk material and packaging material. This is a continuous production. i.e. we donu2019t have to wait till the completion of the bulk material production to start the packing.
Just after the production of 1st batch of bulk, I can start packing. This means the bulk material order and packing material order are overlapped. How can I map this scenario in R/3 MRP so that the overlap appears in the scheduling?
    Thanks & Regards
    Prathib

    Prathib,
What I am looking for is an overlap when I run MRP.
I am going to assume that the 'bulk material' is a component of the 'packing material'. I believe you can achieve your requirement through your BOM explosions.  The dates of dependent requirements can easily be offset from the start date of the higher level (packing) order.
One method is to assign portions of the Bulk component BOM to different routing operations of the higher level (packing) production order.  For this to work, you obviously must have more than one operation in the higher level (packing) order.  You also must use Lead time scheduling during the MRP run to make this work for the planned orders.
A second method is to use a fixed offset. In this case, the lower level (bulk) order completion date is offset from the higher level (packing) start date by a fixed duration of days.  This offset can be entered at the detailed item level in the BOM (CS02)
Finally, you can create a distribution function (OPB3), and a distribution key (OSPA), in which you can fine tune exactly the timing of the dependent requirements, using 'percentage of completion logic'.  This distribution key can then be assigned at the detailed item level of the BOM.
